#character design update

If you’ve been following me since like 2020 you may remember when I posted a WIP for a god design and then didn’t do anything from there.

This one ^^

Well! Here’s your long awaited update!! I’ve changed their design up only a little bit getting rid of the metal circles covering the one eye and replacing them with yellow ribbons that circle it instead.

You may recognise it but if not this gods shape is what the acro mark simplifies as they are the acro god. (Wind)

Tadah! Updated design with colour!!!! Not all of their 6 wings are equal both in size and use. They don’t really use their bottom two much other than something soft to “rest” on. The middle wings are their “main” wings and are the biggest.

This god is named Coro and they along with the melo god Aria are whom the people of silvasita worship so to speak :)

UPDATED PERSONA DESIGN FOR 2023-24

at long last, my sona has finally leveled up again >:] i added a new code to her toyhouse page as well, though it's mostly just the same information as before in a new format all art of her previous design will still be kept and cherished!! however, if you want to draw me, i ask that you use this design from here forward. i am planning to make a little wardrobe sheet eventually though, so who knows, maybe the old outfit will appear there as an alternate since it does still fit me irl lmao

also, don't mind that the ref says i'm 20, i was planning to release this on my birthday in a few days but got impatient /lh

Old Vs New Polecat Design

As I went over Polecat’s design, I thought what if she had hair buns like her mother to again show how much of a combination between her and Coyote. She also has longer hair to again emphasize her father’s traits. I also gave her sharp teeth since Coyote has them so makes sense his daughter would have it passed to her. I also gave her a boob window to emphasize she is her mother’s daughter. And I imagine it would be when she is eighteen years old and can get away with it.

I’ve edited Shia’s character design! As such, an icon change and new reference photo have been put up on the blog. I hope everyone likes her new look - I drew it myself.

Character Design Update!

Featuring: “Kazoo” Kazlo Kalzone🫧

I wanted the jellyfish feel to come out and stay with this while dressing it up. I made his legs black, taking inspiration by poison dart frogs.

As he is amphibious, but prefers to stay in the water, and the white design on the legs is meant to be messy and look like stripes, as he’s mixed and to give that “zebra feeling”

Thought it'd be fun to list all the historical figures and fictional characters that directly inspired the designs I've made for GG20s. There're obviously a bunch of other references I used for each character and their costumes, so these are just very specific inspirations. I'm probably forgetting a bunch of inspos off the top of my head, so I'll update them if I remember later.

Dungeon Meshi - Kobolds and Werewolfs

Observations and TL note under the cut.

TL note by anon: * basal dog breeds: not sure how scientifically sound this is (only did a cursory search to confirm I was using the right term, because normal dictionaries only translate genshu as "purebred" and it didn't make any sense in this context ^^") but they're a number of specific breeds that are not exactly ancient but they did differentiate earlier than most other dog breeds - shiba are among these obviously.

A few more observations of my own:

On another version of the kobolds from daydream hour 2 (slightly different from "The complete Daydream Hour") Ryoko Kui Mentions "Jackals, African Wild Dogs or wolves" which I think its interesting.

I don't know much about DnD so I thought it was strange most Kobolds showed up as lizard people when I searched them on google and I learned that Kobolds are popularized as dogs in japan due to D&D first edition describing them as having dog faces. This was the post that first made me aware of that.

Consider it really late, but this is my first art of the New Year! (Admittedly, I was originally gonna get this done for the Chinese New Year and everything, buuuuut... I procrastinated. Dang. 😅)

About time I gave my sona the design update it desperately needed. And I'm actually satisfied how it turned out. Didn't change too much to make it still recognizable from the previous design.

All I need to do to make the update fully complete is to give the full dragon form a much deserved update, too, and then we are good! 😊
