The Endless Showdown: Kuzco vs. Hades for Snow White's Heart
---
Setting: (Disney Mirrorverse) The Forest Mine, where the sun shines through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground. Birds chirp, and magical creatures flit about.
---
Characters:
- Kuzco: The self-absorbed emperor-turned-llama and Disciple of the Groove.
- Hades: The fiery ruler of the Underworld and Lord of the Dead.
- Snow White: The fairest of them all, with a kind heart and Stalwart Friend of the Forest
- The Muses: A sassy, harmonizing group of goddesses who narrate epic stories.
- Theme Song Guy: A mysterious character who pops up randomly to sing catchy tunes.
---
The Forest Mine Musical Meeting:
*Kuzco struts into the clearing, his golden wrist cuffs gleaming in the sunlight.*
*Snow White approaches, humming a sweet tune.*
Kuzco: (to the audience) Listen up, everybody! The one and only Kuzco here to grace you with my presence. And who's that lovely lady over there? Snow White? Yeah, she's all about apples, seven little dudes, and singing with birds. But me? Kuzco. The ultimate groove master. Well, guess what? I've got eyes for her. Yeah, the one with the raven-black hair and the whole 'fairest of them all' gig.
*Hades materializes in a swirl of smoke, his signature blue hair dancing like flames, his eyes glowing yellow, and his skin has an ashen hue, reminiscent of smoldering embers.*
Snow White: Gentlemen, what brings you to my forest?
Hades: Hold it right there, Kuzco! Snowie is mine. Okay? I've got underworld connections, you know. Plus, I've got gravitas, a chiseled jawline, a killer sense of humor and I'm deceivingly smart. What have you got, huh? A llama transformation? I mean, come on!
Kuzco: Oh, please! I've got style, charm, silky hair you can actually run your fingers through without worry of getting burned, smooth moves, and... (smiles smugly and folds his arms) Theme Song Guy!
*Theme Song Guy pops up from behind a tree.*
Theme Song Guy: It's time for a musical interlude! (singing) 🎵 Love is in the air, but who will win her heart? Kuzco's got the groove, and Hades plays it smart! 🎵
Hades: (raises an eyebrow, pouts his lips, and snaps his fingers) Ladies?
*Five vivacious women appear from thin air.*
The Muses: (singing) 🎵 Snow White, Snow White, the fairest in sight, caught between two egos, oh, what a plight! 🎵
Snow White gazes on the goddesses with an enchanted look.*
*Kuzco and Theme Song Guy stare at them in disbelief.*
*Hades looks over his shoulder and shoots Kuzco a smug smirk with a victorious air about him.*
Kuzco: (head snaps down in Theme Song Guy's direction) DO SOMETHING, THEME SONG GUY, WE'RE LOSING HER!! (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞
Theme Song Guy: What do you want me to do? I may be a robust baritone with a dramatic tenor of Tom Jones, but I can't compete with hot goddesses!
Kuzco: ಥ_ಥ
---
The Battle of Wits and Gifts:
*Hades conjures a bouquet of black roses.*
Hades: Snowie, babe, these roses are as dark as my soul. They're practically immortal. Eternal love, anyone?
*Snow White hesitates.*
Kuzco: Hold up! Check out my gift! *He pulls out a golden llama figurine.* It's...uh, symbolic. Like, 'I'll be your llama forever' or something.
*The Muses roll their eyes.*
The Muses (Thalia): Kuzco, honey, stick to the groove. And Hades, stop being so dramatic!
---
The Grand Finale:
*Snow White stands between them, torn.*
Snow White: Gentlemen, I appreciate your efforts, but—
*Theme Song Guy interrupts.*
Theme Song Guy: (singing) 🎵 Who will claim her heart, the llama or the flame? love’s a wild target, in this romantic game! 🎵
*Snow White giggles.*
Snow White: You both make me laugh. But love isn't about gifts or grand gestures. It's about kindness, understanding, and—
*The Muses join in.*
The Muses: (singing) 🎵 In Olympus’ halls, where gods entwine, a catchy tune, forever divine. Love shall croon, its celestial refrain, echoing through realms, an emperor’s reign. 🎵
*Snow White smiles.*
Snow White: Maybe we can all be friends?
*Hades and Kuzco exchange glances.*
Hades: Deal. But if only Snowie's hugs are reserved exclusively for me. After all, I am the Lord of the Underworld—her hugs bring a touch of light to my eternal darkness.
Kuzco: Excuse me?! Snow White's hugs are a part of my daily ego boost! My royal body needs her warmth!
Snow White: (Her voice emanates disappointment and gives them a pleading look) Guys, please! >﹏<
*And the forest echoes with their bickering.*
End.
---
Some notes in case of confusion. In the beginning, Kuzco breaks the fourth wall and talks to the audience like he did throughout his film.
I spent thirteen days writing this, so I hope you guys enjoyed it! I hope I kept everyone in character. I just want to make it clear that I am no song writer, and I solely relied on my rhyming dictionary for those song parts, lol. So, if there are parts that you find cringeworthy or cracky, I apologize because I was trying to make it as funny as possible.

wanted connections!
para @invwdias e @courageouws
INVIDIA

To all the villains(an in character ask)- what was the most humiliating thing that has ever happened to them?
“If being turned into a cat and when I finally managed to turn most of me back to normal with the exception of having that darn tai wasn’t torture enough, I was then reduced to live in the sewers like a miserable rat after Kuzco kicked me out of the palace!”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“Havin’ to drag myself outta river Styx as the Olympians laughed their asses off is definitely not my best moment, and lemme tell you something: smelling like dead bodies for weeks is not fun!”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“Oh darling, could you imagine the despair of being thrown into a padded room with a completely unfashionable straight jacket after being so close to finally get my hands over those little, barking beasts?! I was LIVID!”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“Being defeated by a simple and foolish mortal who got the aid of three weak fairies was undignifying to say the least… No more comments on the matter”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“I feel you Mal… after finally obtaining victory over Triton and becoming the ruler of the ocean I was killed by a little foolish prince who just got lucky enough to get a boat so close to me!”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“I think back at my last encounter with that savage man and wonder how things could have been different; I could easily put a bullet between his eyes if it weren’t for those bloody vines…!”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“I took the time to organize the perfect wedding, and what did Belle do?! She let me fall to a pond of mud and ruined my best suit, in front of the band!”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“I had gone through humiliation at the hands of the Sultan and her spoiled daughter, but that pales in comparison of how I fell into Aladdin’s trap, I was outsmarted by a street rat without magic while I was the most powerful being on Earth!”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“I still cannot believe that lighting fell in the right moment for that boy to get fire…”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“My death was the final humiliation I had to endure in my life, I had taken a taste of power but it was strip away from me… sigh”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“I looked for that damn diamond for YEARS and when it was finally on my hands I lost it to a bunch of mice and little girl! AN INSOLENT LITTLE GIRL!’”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
“My greatest humiliation?” Falling for that temptress! I had made a vote to live my life in celibacy and she came to destroy what I had built”
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
Ratigan pokes his head from behind a wall.
“Basil is the source of all my humiliation and pain! Every grand scheme has been frustrated by that idiotic — “
Tumblr media
“THERE HE IS! GET THAT F*CKIN’ RAT SCAR!”

hihi im back with another ask i send a lot of these now huh. anyway!! what would they all dress up as for halloween/how do they celebrate halloween when vee and ro are little compared to when they are big? do nana janus and chaotic cousin remus also join in? im super excited 'cause its halloween now and also i remembered my second ask from last night so m gonna send that now! 🐝
bee anon i know its been literal weeks since you sent this but i have been thinking about it loads and rlly hope that its worth the wait!!
i think this might be my longest headcanon post yet!
Halloween headcanon for the family
the timeline of labd took place in summer of this year so this halloween is their first one as a little family! patton was eager to suggest to the others that they make it a family halloween party where both boys are little and they can have some more childish fun!
virgil is nervous about it, he really loves halloween but he is easily frightened by horror and jumpscares and its a lot worse when hes regressed. and even though he trusts his family a ton hes worried they'll accidentally put on a scary movie or have spooky decorations that will scare baby him, so he's worried he will ruin the party by being a crybaby
however patton and roman are both so so so excited about having a child friendly halloween party and logan has been researching family halloween activities that are toddler friendly and vee is also a bit excited despite his anxiety so they all agree to it !!
costumes:
originally they all wanted to have a family group costume theme!! but roman and vee's interests are so different when they're little
whatever roman suggested was either too scary or it was from a show that was too old for baby vee
and any of pattons suggestions that baby vee liked roman complained of them being too babyish or simple
so instead they decide each little will go as a matching costume with one of the CGs! so everyone gets to match with someone and the littles arent upset
Logan and Vee go as rilakkuma (big brown bear) and korilakkuma (littol white bear) respectively
Tumblr media
their costumes are basically just onesies they got from online, just standard onesie but with bear tail and bear ears on the hood and the tummy patch!
As a surprise though roman sews vee a pair of matching mittens for his costume! theyre fluffy on the inside and theyre white and have pink toe beans sewed on!! so they're like paws! and roman made them detachable so vee can have them attached to the onesie but can also wear the mittens without it
SIDE NOTE: this concept post is about how vee loves the mittens so much he starts wearing them a lot of the time when he's lil!
Roman and Patton go as Kuzco and Pacha
Tumblr media
roman makes both of their costumes from scratch!! even fake jewellery for kuzco!! he's REALLY proud of himself and so is everyone else!!
quick link to the posts for what their pumpkins look like and the shenanigans that ensued when they carved them!
During the set-up:
during the day patton and roman bake sugar cookies! and roman does a great job decorating them like pumpkins and black cats! theyre really cute baby friendly designs
meanwhile logan and baby vee decorate the house! logan sticks up paper pumpkin faces and bats while vee sits on the floor in a little play area rattling his giraffe rattle and logan is like talking to him "where should i put this pumpkin sweetheart?" and vee just babbles cluelessly and sucks the ear of the giraffe and logan is like "what a marvellous idea" and hangs the pumpkin exactly where he planned
also they make tissue ghosts!
Tumblr media
basically vee's job is to scrunch up a tissue into a ball! so logan gives him a tissue and shows him how to scrunch it and vee does a littol scrunch and giggles and logan takes it (scrunches it a bit more into a ball) and covers it in another tissue and rubber band! then he asks the baby if this ghost should be happy or sad (vee ALWAYS says happy) and logan draws happy little face on it!
when they have enough logan hangs them from the ceiling fan!! and he turns the fan on slow and the ghosts float around slowly and he goes 'vee look at that!'
and baby vee on the carpet is staring at them and then he whines and holds his arms up to mama - he wants to be picked up
lo was concerned that baby found the ghosts scary but!! vee giggles and reaches up to the ghosts and he bats them! like a little kitten! he loves it because its like a baby mobile!!
During the actual party:
lots of fun! logan cut out pumpkin shapes out of orange craft paper earlier and the boys get to draw faces on them!! and then they get blu tacked up on the walls!
and they nibble their cookies of course! very nummy well done roman and patton
but while ro is busy drawing and while vee is busy suckling his cookie and cuddling papa lo sneaks off to set up the main event...
trick or treat scavenger hunt:
there are bags of candy and little party favours (like little badges and bubbles and stuff) hidden around the house!
patton suddenly pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket and gasps! then he announces that the boys got an invitation to go trick or treating around the house by some special guests! at this vee gets a bit nervous and buries his face in papa's shoulder but patton rocks him and roman is really excited!!
so patton hands the invitation to roman and its a riddle! roman has to figure out which room the riddle wants them to go to! roman is a very clever little boy, just ask his mom and dad, so he figures it out and leads them to the dining room! roman runs ahead and paatton carries baby vee on his hip
and in the dining room is logan - but he's not really supposed to be logan - he is still wearing his bear onesie but also now is wearing a big black blanket around his shoulders (its meant to be a cape) and has those really cheap uncomfortable plastic vampire fangs
'welcah to i cashel' he lisps
roman giggles because its very silly and he LOVES silly, especially mom being silly
but baby vee grips his papa tighter. he doesnt know why mama is talking weird or why his mouth looks different and pointy but it scares him and he starts whimpering
papa bounces him a little and whispers that its just mama being silly
logan hates to see ve scared of him so he tries to rectify it 'ish ohay bee ish okay wook ish mama!'
vee looks over because papa and his brother are giggling so it cant be that scary right?
but as logan tries to talk again the teeth fall straight out his mouth with a trail of drool and roman bursts out laughing and so does patton and so baby starts giggling too!! because its just mama!
anyway the game is to convince the vampire to let you have his candy. the vampire says he will only give them the treats if they can name all of the characters in peppa pig
and they do it!! vee immediately bounces and squeaks 'pepepepepa!' and then roman names mummy pig and daddy pig and george and then they get treats AND another riddle!
logan sprints out of the room to shove the next costume on and get to the next room
then roman takes them to the laundry room where the wolf man (logan with dog ears made of socks) will only give them bubbles and the next riddle if they both pet his head VERY softly!
and then they find a mummy in the kitchen and have to unwrap him! roman tears off the toilet paper from logans body and hands it to vee and vee scrunches it up like he did earlier and holds a little bit to his chest and decides its his now - the mummy gives them more candy and another riddle!
the hunt goes on until they find mama in the living room lying on the couch - and he's asleep! (he's not really)
theres a note on his chest that says that mama is under a spell!! and he can only be waken up by a kisses from all his family!! roman giggles and goes first and kisses logans cheek really loudly and sloppy and logan winces in his "sleep" at the wetnes on his cheek and roman thinks its funny
vee is really nervous that mama is under a spell :( so papa says he will show vee how to wake mama up. and patton leans down to kiss logan - logan's eyes open when he's just above him and leans up to meet him in a quick soft kiss on the lips
then its baby vee's turn and he wriggles in papa's arms so patton puts him down onto logan's lap on the couch and vee does his signature baby kiss - he leans forward, gently presses his forehead against his mamas and whispers 'mwah' behind his paci!
and then logan wakes up and says 'oh you saved me!!' and wraps a smiley baby vee in a very tight cuddle!
and when logan gets up he says he is SO grateful to his boys for saving him that he's gonna give them presents!!
For being so creative and clever by solving all the riddles and finding ways to trick the monsters into giving them treats, roman gets a rainbow etch a sketch!
and for being such a brave baby and for being so gentle with the monsters and with mama, little vee gets a squishmallow bat who will always protect him and give him cuddles!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the rest of the night is pretty much jsut roman being really excited and proud of how well he did in leadinf his family to victory and he draws all of the events that happened on his new etch a sketch!
and baby vee is just so relieved that mama is back that he doesnt leave mama's lap and snuggles with his new squishy friend al evening! he falls aslee pretty quickly because it was a busy day for just a little baby!!
the end :3

Disney+ What To Watch: My Top 10 Favourite Modern-Day Disney Classics
Tumblr media
#1. The Emperor’s New Groove
I absolutely and completely fell in love with this movie the first time I saw it. Not only is the movie’s comedy on point but the animation styling, the story and the emotion that develops throughout this movie, for me, is exceptional.
Now it is fair to say that my #1 and #2 favourites involve the main protagonists being indirectly turned into into animals by the movie’s main villains and the story that follows is a buddy movie about self-discovery. But while The Princess and the Frog is a developing love story, The Emperor’s New Groove is a cautionary tale about the pitfalls about power, how it can corrupt and to appreciate the little and simple things about life.
In a way, The Princess and the Frog and Lilo & Stitch are also about that as the former sees the the main protagonists learn to open themselves up emotionally and the latter is about the meaning of family but this movie combines with it a fun family adventure, some rather high-intense sequences, brilliant comedic scenes, one or two fantastic meta-reference moments and every main and supporting character fills their roles perfectly.
Not only are the characters fantastic, but this movie makes me enjoy both David Spade and Patrick Warburton, I don’t really dislike Warburton but I really dislike David Spade unless his voice is coming out of an animated llama.
The plot, despite being slightly derivative of a standard buddy adventure comedy, somehow makes itself quite unique in the sense of not only the prince cursed to be a llama learning to be human but also the very hands on interference from the villains.
Speaking of the villains, despite being a movie about Emperor Kuzco learning a sense of humanity while he is effectively exiled from his throne, this movie’s two main best features are Yzma and her minion Kronk.
There are very few actors that I say are born for roles and certainly fewer that I say are born for multiple roles, but Eartha Kitt was born to be Yzma just as she was born to be Catwoman. It’s no surprise that these are her two most recognisable roles.in mainstream fandom.
I cannot say enough great things about this character, she is, for me, the best Disney Villain since Cruella De Vil because she is unapologetically ambitious, knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to to achieve it.
Her design is cartoon enough to not seem real but at the same time you want to meet this woman in real life, if that makes sense. She is such an interesting character that you want to meet her, you want to interview her, you want to find out about her history and what got her to this point in her life.
But she is also hilarious and fearsome at the same time. She is a fully-realised three-dimensional character and not just this movie’s typical baddie. This is captured not only in the character design but particularly in Eartha Kitt’s performance. I love her almost as much as I love Cruella and her becoming a cat at the end was the icing on the cake of a fabulous performance for me.
Kronk meanwhile is what I deem to be a villain by circumstance, to the point where I actually believe he is slightly oblivious to exactly what side he has found himself on working for Yzma. This is because, maybe save for Pacha, he is the gentlest and most naive character in the village. That’s not necessarily a bad thing and it is a great moment when he finds his place in the world separate to Yzma and isn’t persecuted for his past because officially he hasn’t actually done anything villainous save for attempted regicide.
However, the great thing about this movie, and Kuzco being something of an anti-hero, is I don’t believe anyone in the kingdom would prosecute
As for Kuzco, he definitely showed some growth throughout this movie. He may not be the nicest individual but he does learn a lesson in humility and also friendship through his friendship with Pacha and the karma he receives through his actions reverberating on the giant target Yzma paints on his back.
This movie is also very quotable, this may not be the most well-known movie but chances are you will recognise a quote or two that were coined in the playgrounds if you attended school in the early 2000s. From Kuzco’s catchphrases such as “No touchy”, “Llama Face” and his “a-ha” victory chant, it’s fair to say that non-fans are at least familiar with one of them.
But also, let’s be honest, the best moment of this movie is Yzma’s iconic “Pull the lever Kront, wrong lever!”. Not only was this instant comedy gold but continued to be a staple in the franchise as the spin-off series The Emperor’s New School utilised many versions of this scene throughout the series.
Kuzco is also a fourth wall joke away from be the Disney Animated version of Deadpool, not only does he break the fourth wall numerous times in the first half of the movie, but also you can tell that if the movie was higher than a family friendly rating, he would not be so family friendly which is fantastic with the potential being there but not needing to be exposed.
Also, the movie is set in Peru. I think Up  and The Three Caballeros are the only other movies in Disney history to actually feature any South American locales and not just the design in architecture but the fact that Pacha’s village is authentic to South American culture being a llama herding and produce village is very productive for an animated movie. It creates teachable moments without jamming it down your throats.
That being said, it would have been nice to have some Peruvian or South American representation in the voice casting, because despite the talents of Eartha Kitt and Wendie Malick, the rest is principally a white in a strictly Peruvian setting.
Musically there are just three words...Tom freakin Jones. Not only is his music the theme song for this movie but he is the only “theme song guy” to become animated as the theme song guy. He is in this movie less than Bucky the Squirrel yet I love him just as much.
Also there is a fantastic song that was left on the cutting room floor sang by Eartha Kitt “Snuff Out the Light”. Not only do I feel that if this song were included it may have made it a slightly different movie but also I would say that non-canonically it is one of the better Disney Villain songs if nothing else but for Eartha’s powerhouse performance.
This movie, like One Hundred and One Dalmatians is a movie where I can honestly say that, for me, there is not a bad moment in this movie, there are no slow parts, there aren’t any unnecessary parts, the slightly wacky or convoluted moments add to the genius that this movie encapsulates.
I can remember seeing this movie with my mum and sister and loving it, I remember playing the PlayStation game and loving it, Outside of Disney compilation soundtracks, this was also the movie soundtrack I ever owned and it is because of Tom Jones and Eartha Kitt’s performances...there’s just nothing bad I can say about this movie.
So what do you guys think? Post your comments and check out more Disney+ What to Watch Top 10s as well as more Top 10 Lists and other posts.

My friends and I have recently gotten into playing Disney Villainous, a strategy board game where you play as the Disney Villains as you try to complete their unique objective while defeating your opponents. It’s kinda tricky and has a learning curve to it, but once you get the hang of it, it’s loads of fun. By now we’ve collectively played each villain in the original game and both expansion packs at least once, so I wanted to share my thoughts on each villain. Villains who I’ve personally played are italicized.
The Worst Takes it All
Maleficent - Maleficent was the first one I played as, and I won with her. But it was the first time we played so we all were kind of getting used to the game, so I'd probably have a harder time playing as her now that my friends are wiser about countering opponents. Maleficent has one of the most straightforward objectives: she has to start her turn with a curse cast at every location, effectively engulfing the kingdom in her dark magic. Her curses, however, can be fairly easily broken by both Fate actions and Maleficent's own actions, so you have to be very strategic with how you deploy your curses, where, and in what order. She's fun because there's a lot of genuine strategy involved with her and a challenge, but the challenge comes from the gameplay and the talent of your opponents rather than luck or a convoluted or cheap mechanic.
Jafar - Jafar is so far the only round I've played where I've straight up lost (we always play for second place with the two remaining in the game). While Jafar's deck is really visually stunning (as all are), his gameplay is less fun. His objective is that he must unlock the Cave of Wonders, and get the genie and the lamp under his control at the Sultan's Palace. The thing about Jafar is that he's basically useless until he finds the scarab to unlock the Cave of Wonders, and if it's unlucky enough to be close to the bottom of your deck (like mine was), you're in for a bad time. He's also very vulnerable to Fate actions with Aladdin and Abu's abilities to steal the lamp being a big hurdle that's very difficult to earn a win with.
Captain Hook - Hook has the reputation as the easiest villain to play as. I don't really agree with that, but he's definitely not hard. Like Jafar, Hook has the luck based difficulty of having a locked location that can only be unsealed with a single card, and, if it's at the bottom of your deck, you're in for a bad time. So many of Hook's cards are based around searching your Fate deck to find Pan, while he has very little ability to search his OWN deck (even Jafar has spells that let him dig through his). Also, because your objective to defeat Pan is so straightforward, other players see your victory coming a mile away and will soup-up Pan to make him difficult to kill. Still managed to get second place with him.
Ursula - Ursula, we've determined is the hardest and most broken character. She's also by far the most strategy heavy character. She has to get the trident and the crown to her lair, but she's very vulnerable to the luck of her deck. She's unique in that she can't defeat heroes by vanquishing them. Rather, she has to get heroes under binding contracts and fulfil the terms of the contract to defeat them, and she has to do all of this with one of her locations constantly locked (you can move the lock, but you can't break it). She also is very vulnerable to Fate actions with Ariel in particular making things impossible to win.
The Queen of Hearts - The Queen of Hearts's gameplay is based on croquet. She has to turn four card soldiers into wickets and successfully take a shot. Her board also features Wonderland size changing with her heroes able to shrink and grow to block certain actions. She has by far the most docile objective, but it's still off with the heads of her enemies. She's I'd say of a medium difficulty. She's less luck based and more arrangement based, which is interesting.
Prince John - Prince John is, I think, the easiest character and the character I think I would use to get beginners acclimated to the game. He has to accumulate 20 power tokens by taxing the people of Nottingham and farming for power. Strategy comes from being selective about which heroes you spend power to defeat and which you just move to the jail to be useless. The thing about John is that opponents see his victory coming a mile away, so you get dog piled with Fate actions the closer you get to victory. You can't really be sneaky with John.
Wicked to the Core
The Evil Queen - The one who started it all is, in my opinion, the easiest villain to win with and the most fun mechanically to play, and her gameplay borrows from Jafar, Hook, and Maleficent without ever feeling like just a rehash. The Queen wins by killing Snow White, which she must do by first casting four different potion ingredients to unlock the Dwarf's Cottage, then she must find Snow White and poison her. Most villains have to defeat heroes by sacrificing allies or playing special effect cards, but the Queen has a really fun system where she can brew her power tokens into poison tokens, and she defeats heroes by powering up her poison apples with the poison tokens. There's a more straightforward attack that the Queen has that no other villain duplicates, and with the Magic Mirror's scrying and her own effect cards, the Queen has ample opportunities to find Snow White and her potion ingredients. She's also not very heavily impeded by her Fate deck, which kind of makes her a sucker's bet to play against, but I just have such a fun time with her and her gameplay that she remains the top of my heap.
Hades - Hades is a slow march to get three Titans at Mount Olympus. They have to start at the Underworld space and cross the board. It's straightforward, but it's tedious, even more so when you consider that your Fate deck is all about freezing your Titans in place. He has some cool powers that let Hades help his Titans out and avoid discarding them like other allies, but other characters, like Scar and the Evil Queen, will leave him in the dust and win before he's even gotten one Titan in place.
Doctor Facilier - My friend played Facilier in our first game, and, ngl, I was completely lost as to what he was doing for most of the game, which is a good thing. His objective is to take over New Orleans, which he does through a special card. Facilier has to form a special deck (like Scar) and find a specific card within his deck, so it's hard to see him coming as an opponent. He seems to have the same luck-based play style that Jafar has where you're at the mercy of the shuffle of your deck.
Evil Comes Prepared
Scar - Scar is an interesting character to play because he's the most focused on destroying heroes in the plural. You have to kill Mufasa and then accumulate a special graveyard of dead heroes that adds up to a certain point value, so he has the interesting mechanic and distinction of being tricky to impede because Fating him gives him what he needs to win. He has a lot of hyenas who boost each other in numbers, which makes defeating enemies very doable. He has a sort of obnoxious Fate effect called Hakuna Matata, which resurrects dead heroes that have already been defeated (if they're under a certain level of strength) which can get annoying if you're unlucky enough to have your graveyard resting on characters like Zazu, Timon, or Pumbaa. Still, Scar is an easy villain to play as, and I enjoy the mechanics of destroying your enemies as a primary objective. Only reason I got second with Scar was because my friend was playing the Evil Queen and we were neck in neck.
Professor Ratigan - Ratigan is very item and gadget focused. He has to get the robot Mouse Queen to Buckingham Palace, however, Ratigan is unique in that if Basil defeats the robotic Mouse Queen, he goes feral and his objective becomes to kill Basil. The switching goals feature of Ratigan is fun and clever. However, the Queen Mousetoria Fate card outright blocks victory through the Robot Queen, and if she's tucked behind a wall of heroes that includes Basil the way she wound up on our playthrough, you can effectively block Ratigan from both switching objectives and from winning at all. So he's a little broken with regards to specific conditions of switching objectives and the way he can be impeded.
Yzma - Yzma has to kill Kuzco with Kronk, however she has two unique obstacles to her victory: first is that she has four different Fate decks, one for each location, which makes finding Kuzco an extra challenge. Kronk also can be redeemed into a hero under the right circumstances, which means that holding onto him until you're ready to kill Kuzco is a must. She has tough Fate actions to overcome, like Wrong Lever which costs her half her power. My friend did, however, win with her in our game.

What is your top favorite things about kuvira?
This user is currently accepting Munday asks!
Do you have all day? God, where would I even begin…
Tumblr media
Right, let’s get the obvious out of the way first. The woman is hot as fuck. Like, dear lord. Let me give some context, okay? Kill la Kill had just aired the year before. Satsuki Kiryuin had just taken the internet by storm. The market was wide open for another strong, authoritarian woman with fierce eyebrows. Kuvira filled that void rather nicely and then some.
But I would not have clung onto her character for all these years if she were just hot. My favorite character in, well, anything is Kuvira.
She’s a young woman with an intense love for her country and raised in a society that was simultaneously progressive and isolationist. The latter never made sense to her. She was more intent on spreading the prosperity of her home to the rest of her country, which was under the rule of a despot who cared nothing for the people. When the opportunity came to serve and help her people, she leapt at it. She leapt at it despite basically being disowned by her mother figure if she did so.
Issue is… over her years of piecing her country back together, she became ever so slightly… dictator-y. Which is the tragedy of Kuvira.
This young, passionate, talented woman who is forced to make difficult decision after difficult decision… and slowly loses her soul along the way. By the end, she’s willing to sacrifice everything, including her own fiance, for the victory she desired so much. She’s willing to indulge in weapons of mass destruction in order to aggressively protect her homeland, including foreign areas that she happens to view as part of her homeland. She lost her way, and in the process became the very thing she sought to replace.
That narrative is just… so fucking compelling to me.
Tumblr media
Kuvira is a woman who suffered significant trauma in her life, and instead of wallowing in it, she looked at that trauma and said: “No one else will suffer like this.” But her failing, also a result of this trauma, is her absolute need for control and dominance. Kuvira thinks she knows best. It’s her way or the highway.
And to be absolutely fair to her, Kuvira makes some fantastic points throughout her tenure as a villain. She went about it in some less than ideal ways (and as we’ve discussed before, had her character thrown under the bus in a god damn filler episode), but she’s someone who made the audience think.
Those points being, to cite my post from earlier this week:
Her nation, the Earth Kingdom, had been dicked around and made the other nations’ bitch for the past few centuries.
(It was)
That the monarchy was outdated and would only lead to new ruin.
(The last Earth Queen would have made Caligula blush, and her heir could generously be described as Kuzco pre-character development)
That the land taken to make the United Republic belonged to the Earth Kingdom.
(It did)
And that it was illegal and immoral to take these regions that they had only just gotten back from the Fire Nation.
(It arguably was)
It always delights me when a villain forces a protagonist to look at themselves and have them wonder if they’re doing the right thing. Granted, that didn’t quite pan out as such in TLOK, but hey, the potential was there. So close to having a non-standard gray areas conflict.
If all of this is sounding very familiar? It’s because the foundation of Renatus’ character is Kuvira. I wanted to write a story where she was the hero, and how that would play out.

Animation principles:
The Simpsons - Clown collage Ad gets to Homer
https://youtu.be/tSKEl6a-b_c
I decided to use a Simpson episode for this task as it is one of the longest running animated shows and would clearly show many types of animation principles. The episode I looked at was called” Homie the clown” in which Homer goes to clown college to become a clown but is hesitant of the idea at first.
(add pictures of car stops, traffic crash and fire)
At the start of the clip, we can see Homers slamming down on the breaks so that he can look at a clown college advertisement where his car then comes to a complete stop which ends up causing a car crash that spirals out of control. In this scene, I can see that timing of the car is used as more frames are used at the start, where gradually less and fewer frames are used to show the car coming to a screeching stop. Also, when the cars crash, they then all blow up into a fire. Here, straight ahead action is used as the frames are made one after another instead of starting from different key points to then blend together. I'd say it doesn't use pose to pose action as the fire doesn't look too wild and is fairly straight forward on displaying the situations intentions.
(add a picture of homer surrounded by food, clowns and workers on fire)
The audience is then introduced to homer sitting at his desk with food all around him. This scene has been clearly staged to show Homer's personality trait of over loving food through the use of open food packets and bottles surrounding him giving him comfort in his time of need in the story. His feast which has yet to begin is ruined by Lenny telling Homer that there's a fire. Homer daydreams while he says this and sees his co-workers enter the frame as clowns. Here we can see an arc being used through the repeated rotational actions of the clown ranging from waving back and forth to rolling around. However, when the audiences see what is really going on the characters are actually on fire instead of this clown persona Homer has created. It could be said that this is an exaggeration of a real event however could be argued that you'd actually be like this in real life.
(add a picture of the family at the dinner table)
In the final scene here, we see the family at the table which is either side of Homer who seems to the person of interest here as we can see the whole family is staring at him. The method used here is also a form of staging as well but would be considered more as character staging.
TMNT - 2003 Intro
https://youtu.be/arKNbR41mX8
Instead of using a TMNT episode, I decided to look at what principles the intro has as I remember that they do a lot of jumps and kicks in its Intro. The intro explains what the show is about and what the Turtles are up against. This means that a lot of the clips are shown really quickly with the timeframe that it has.
(picture of turtle silhouette jumping off rooftops and the turtles winding up to jump plus the punch by the bad guy)
There's a scene where we see all the turtles lined up looking ready to jump into action. Here we see the anticipation of a jump where they do a quick wind up. The action is done very quickly and could be missed on a first glance. We then see the turtles actually jumping from different angles which clearly show that an arc was used to produce this. It is most notable towards the end of the intro where we see a silhouette of the turtle team jumping rooftop to rooftop. Another arc is a punch delivered by one of the villains where we can see the action changing speeds to give the effect of reaction ad impact. More frames used at the start and less as the punch moves closer to the screen.
(have a picture of their headbands moving in the wind)
A key feature of the TMNT is their iconic colour mask that sits on their face. the masks the masks also fit into a secondary action principle which is demonstrated in a lot of the intro by how the tail end is constantly moving in the wind while the turtles are either fight, holding onto a truck/car or jumping from rooftop to rooftop. The use of this secondary action is very important as it shows the characters movement and speed.
(add a picture of the fight scene where they are all surrounded)
Another principle I saw was staging which was shown in a fight sequences between the turtles and a group of villains from the show. I say this be used the scene has a spotlight on the turtle illustrating how outnumbered they are compared to all the darkened figures that are slowly starting to surround them making the match unfair. The intentions of this scene are clearly shown as being a fight between good and evil where evil is being the ones represented in the dark and the good being in the light.
Tom and Jerry - Nit witty kitty (1951)
https://youtu.be/P7HoqRF8-Sc
Tom and Jerry are one of the most well-known animations to date and in most episodes, we see Jerry taking the wins while Tom takes the loses. However, this episode is one of the few times tom is victorious over Jerry. It all starts when Mammy the maid accident hits Tom on the head making him think that he's a mouse instead of a cat. The episode is all about Jerry trying to turn Tom back into a cat so that they could continue their daily routine.
(Picture of Jerry out of breath with his tongue out)
The first part of the clip we see Jerry swinging a baseball bat trying to hit Tom around the head but failing miserably. Jerry takes a break where we see him throw his arms over the bat panting heavily with his tongue stretched out. This not only works as a secondary action but shows an exaggerated facial reaction from swinging the bat too hard and fast.
(Picture of tom’s head being hit with a ball, squash and stretch)
We next see Jerry attempt to push a bowling ball on Toms' head. Just before the blowing ball falls it hovers in the air for a few seconds making the audiences anticipate that it will hit Tom, where it then fell and completely squashes him. Here we see a great example on squash and stretch as we see the real impact of the bowling ball. Toms' head bounces up and down as if he was a spring. This type of principle is commonly used in this type of animated cartoon as it illustrates the weight of an object with a lot of dramatic exaggeration making the scenes more comedic.
(Picture of Tom in his mouse form plus a Picture of Jerry’s room)
Exaggeration is also used for Toms character in this episode by dramatizing his actions to look like a mouse. This can be seen through his posture, the way he walks with his hands raised to his chest as well as his twitching nose and noticeable mouse teeth (Not to mention his love of cheese). When we are introduced to Jerry’s house, we see that he uses small items to replicate the larger object. For example, Jerry’s bed is stood up from him using matchsticks as well as a sowing roll used as a side table which fits under the staging principle as this undoubtedly Jerry’s home.
The Emperor’s new groove - Can I go home?
https://youtu.be/HMFtTp-_DtM
(Picture of the guards as animals)
The extract that I decided to look at here was towards the end of the film where the two protagonists make it back to the kingdom only for all the guards to turn on the king. Grabbing the potions, some end up being used on the guards instantly turning them into animals. this scene clearly displays the solid drawing principle through the use of shadowing allowing the effect of weight and volume to show when the cow when turns and interacts with his surroundings. The same goes for the others as I find that the shapes the artists used really stand out and blend in well making the animals pop out.
In this same hot we can see the cow asking if he could go home as he has just been turned into a cow and would like to excursus himself. It’s only put in for comedic effect however he uses his one hand to gesture while he swings around this other that’s holding a weapon. From what I can see to me it looks like a secondary action used but I’m not certain.
(Picture of Tom in his mouse form plus a Picture of Jerry’s room)
When the guards are shown on screen they jump up in the air and start running showing the anticipation of their next action being running to the intruders. I find this anticipation very effective as it shows how eager they are to attack. It intensifies the scene putting the audiences on edge as they can only speculate what’s going to happen next.
(Picture of lama with the wide eyes)
Due to the scene using a lot of quick fast shots, he scenes tone is very fast only giving us short glimpse at the characters reaction to the guards being introduced. Here we see a close up on Kuzco and Pacha, where we see Kuzco shaking in fear as his face starts to express fear. The use of wide eyes and rapid shaking creates an exaggerated effect that reflects the protagonist scared attitude due to what's going on.
Family guy - Peter buys a tank! (UNCENSORED)
https://youtu.be/IguAYvX_D_8
(Picture of a yellow hummer from above view)
In this episode, Peter buys a tank and starts using it for his own personal gain. In the first scene, Brian comments on the number of hummers at the car dealership and asks what kind of jerk would drive one of those. The next scene in instantly set up of a bird's eye view of a bright yellow hummer in the centre of the frame allowing it to be what the audiences focus on to understand the joke. This has been clearly staged so that the audiences are 1, directed to the middle of the screen which is where the car is and also the car is yellow allowing its bright colour to stand out from the others.
(Picture Cleveland falling in the ath tub and Peter shooting the bullet)
After buying the tank, Peter decides to test it out around the Spooner street area. In then blows a hole in Cleveland’s house exposing him in his bath. There’s a running gag of his bath falling from his house with him in it as he screams “no, no no nooooo”, but this action here is a great example of slow in and slow out as we can see that lots of frames are used at the beginning of the baths decent until the frames get shorter and shorter till the bath falls out of the house when it speeds up again for it to smash. Another area Peter decides to use his tank is a drive-in cinema. After getting bored of the film he decides to fire upon it showing a clear arc of the middle going from one side of the screen to the other.
(Picture of joe running from the tank)
We next see Peter using his tank on his neighbour job while he collects his mail. Here the scene is staged showing a clear narrative of what is happening. Joe notices the tank behind him through the mirror he brought and runs away. It’s here we see the tank right behind him as he screams for his life. This is another example of staging for comedic purpose.
