DEMO SNIPPET

Ciaran and MC being Ciaran and MC (ft Dog who’s just happy to be there). Unedited as always.

“Not even a kiss for good luck?”

Ciaran glares at you, but the effect is rather ruined by the flush of red that blooms across $chis cheeks.

“I’d rather kiss $dog.”

$dog, who has just been laying there with $dhis head resting on your boot, perks up immediately at being mentioned. $dhis tail thumps against the ground and you get the pleasure of watching Ciaran immediately melt. $chis eyes soften and $che crouches down to scratch $dog behind the ears.

“You’re pretty adorable together.”

Ciaran looks up, a scowl on $chis pretty face, and freezes. $chis face slackening in shock as $che goes bright red and splutters out, “you’re smiling.”

While this kind of behaviour from Ciaran would usually trigger the little sadist in you. Something about $chis words and the way $che’s looking at you has you shifting uneasily instead, but you try to play it off with a smirk and shrug, “I smile all the time.”

$che sighs, pets $dog one more time, and stands. “No, $mc, you smirk and you grin and you cackle like a grade-a freak, but you don’t smile.” Ciaran looks away and says almost absentmindedly, “you should though, you looked…beautiful.”

You blink a couple of times, but before you can reply, Ciaran recovers and storms off, throwing one last parting shot over $chis shoulder.

“That’s only cause you look like something a Kaiju shat out most of the time though, so anything would be an improvement on that.”

You look down at $dog and wink, “$che definitely has a crush on me.”

as someone who's endlessly obnoxious about both tvd and lana del rey this is quite literally a dream come true so-,

tvd at it's core is about people doing unjustifiable things for 'love'. Whether i choose to read some relationships as more of a predatory obsession, the crux of this show is damaged grieving people sacrificing and further damaging themselves and others in the pursuit of it, see the mikaelsons with eachother and the salvatore's with Elena and Elena with basically everyone. And I've always read Video Games as both one of the most beautiful love songs of all time but also as an acknowledgment of codependence and lost potential. The song romanticises monotony and mundane life, which is fair. but there's a touch of melancholy beneath the surface of picture perfect normalcy. much like tvd itself.

following that theme,

"part of the past but now you're the future," Could refer to any of the vampire's in the show but I personally love it when thinking of Elena and the doppelganger's before her. In the background of all of history but with an endless future before her. "You could get the blues, But that don't mean that you should abuse it," EVERY FKN KID ON THAT SHOW. And yes I mean kid, the MF gang were children. And they did, in fact, get the blues and abuse it.

ELENA

Anyone who's read my endless rambling before knows where I'm going with this but, jfc the salvatore's !!! Both Stefan and Damon (and canon as a whole but wtv) view their mistreatment of Elena as something unavoidable. Following the theme of horrific acts in the name of love from earlier, Stefan didn't have a choice in entering Elena's life. To him, it was his right, his purpose. (he had to know her).

Despite Elena being a grieving child who did not need any more bullshit in her life. He had too. And when that later caused even further turmoil, both from his own actions and indirect, unintended consequences. He metaphorically put his head in his hands, it wasn't just her suffering but him. In fact, if he really thought about it, later in canon, that is. It was almost equally her fault what happened. From his POV atleast.

Damon basically follows all the same beats but is more open about it, bemoaning his own lost chances with Elena as something completely disconnected to his very purposeful and avoidable choices to cause her pain. He's impulsive, it's not his fault.

Damon could only dream of being 6'2 but you get it.

NO BECAUSE WITH THE WAY BONNIE, TYLER, AND ENZO WERE WRITTEN, I’M ACTUALLY STUNNED AT HOW RACIST JULIE PLEC IS.

Like Michael Trevino is a non white fully Mexican man, Kat is a white Jewish/African American woman, and Michael Malarkey is a mixed man with Palestinian/Lebanese (Arab) heritage… what do Enzo, Tyler, and Bonnie have in common? LAZY AND/OR BAD WRITING. Enzo, like Bonnie and Tyler, had a compelling character and personality and storyline potential, but noooooo. Even if he wasn’t the most compelling love interest for Bonnie (which I also think was lazy writing), HE WAS DONE WRONG. THERE COULDVE BEEN MORE DONE WITH HIM.

Even in TO, POC aren’t done well. While POC are done better in TO than TVD, I don’t like how they did Marcel. Nope. I ain’t with the Marbekah train, and the Mikaelsons vilified that man when he was right about A LOT of things. AND THEY STAYED AT THE SAME HOUSE THAT HE WAS A SLAVE AT. THAT SHIT WAS WEIRD. But yeah, they made it very clear that it didn’t matter how close to the family Marcel was, he was never one of them. And maybe I’m reaching, but it reminds me of how in some white families that adopt black kids, they treat the black kid completely different than their biological children and I don’t like those undertones… but maybe it’s just me overthinking. And the thing is, she didn’t HAVE to write the Mikaelsons like that. Plec could’ve emphasised the family bond that the mikaelsons had with Marcel and how much it hurts for both Klaus and Marcel to be at odds with one another, but noooooo. They treated Marcel like that one “problem child” that’s iced out of the family.

But the racism carries on into Legacies because you cannot TELL ME that Alaric of all fucking individuals had a more compelling storyline than MG or RAF.

Not even in Legacies but in TVD, but remember Sarah Salvatore? The black Salvatore? SHE WAS DONE WRONG. COULD’VE HAD A GOOD STORYLINE.

Like people seem to think that the racism was only with Kat (and to be fair, she’s one of the only ones who has been outspoken about the racism), but as I look back at the TVDU more, it’s actually worse than I thought.

Vincent, Marcel, Bonnie, Tyler, Enzo, I’m definitely forgetting some, but the list goes on and on and on.

You summed everything perfectly tbh.

Yeah, Kat wasn’t the only one. Bonnie fans were rallying for years when the show aired and stopped airing. So that voice of fans naturally seems louder.

It’s even funnier how they have to downplay her feats and disregard her abilities to even make the others seem remotely comparable. Then again, they hate when anyone doesn’t partake in the Bennett bloodline erasure that TO and Lgcs created.

mcd but when laurance escaped the nether with ungrth he didn’t just get vague “eyes are blue now and don’t work” as a consequence, but instead ended up with some pretty bad void burns. not as bad what killed ungrth, but enough to mess him up and lose his vision as a result of them.

so when aph does the ungrths soul irene statue ritual extravaganza to fix the damage zane did, instead of just sending out Random Healing Wave it heals laurances burns because it isn't differentiating between getting rid of the voids effects on the plaza and getting rid of the voids effects on laur.

and also it would just be cooler. tbh.
