Desi magical girl OC named Pushpa! Wanted a break from drawing character assets for a game I'm making and wanted something very self indulgent.

I've been watching a lot of magical girl and shojou anime recently and was like wow, I really want to draw a cutsey Indian magical girl main character. I wanted to combine a half sari with a more traditional poofy magical girl dress. I used a lot of flower motifs and gave her a trident to hint at how her powers come from Parvati and Durga. I'm bad at coming up with names but my mum suggested Pushpa and I loved it!

Also I drew more sketches of what a potential show about her and some other magical girls would entail:

Again, I was really trying to combine mythology, South Indian culture and magical girl/shoujo tropes. Let me know what you think fellow south Indians and magical girl lovers 🫡 low-key wanna develop the designs of the other two girls.

Mwdh would cross over best witb TMM new anime over the other versions bc Ichigo is most heroic in that version and that cast was aged up so the mwdh team wouldnt be as insufferable and infantilizing about their ages

I forgot how old the mc was so at first cuz I remember she's younger and Val would be kind of annoying as a senpai lmao she definitely would have a sense of like... smugness about being older lol but she's 15 so only a year younger and not enough for Val to justify being insufferable lol

She'd get along w her well enough as civilians, Val is really great with people,

but I feel Val has a much more heroic point of view toward fighting and takes great pride in her powers. the way the magic functions in mwdh also plays a part. it's heavily emotion based and crystal warriors magic comes from their love and desire to protect others combined with their belief in themselves.

One or two off days is one thing, but assuming she views other magical girls as running on the same magic logic, she would get frustrated with what she views as a "front" and want to pull forth her heroism that would need to be there for her to have magic. Remember how she lashed out at Liam for his attitude lol. The one time Val shows an annoyance with fighting is on valentine's day since it was getting in the way of a hot date.

Val also has a hot temper and she's a natural at leading in that she just unconsciously takes up the task of strategizing and planning? Shes assigned leader not just for charisma but because she's the one who takes charge and comes up with plans. Aika might get kind of bothered by Val barking orders at her while unless they have new insight to inform her of, Vals own team typically takes her orders without question
