A Warning to new witches

Reading makes you smarter. But reading does not mean you are smart. This applies to those who read occult texts as well. Just because it is about magic and witchcraft, does not mean you are smart to read it. Be discerning of authors, publishers, and wording. You should not judge a book by its cover but you SHOULD judge a book by its title. be cautious of books using words like ____ Magic(k). The overuse of adjectives to describe types of witchcraft are purely used to make books attract crowds who follow trends. An example would be "Lunar Magick" which is a title to over 200+ books on amazon. They use these names to get your money for very little information. Most of these self published books are plagiarized or just watered down versions of actual grimoires with a historical basis. Be perceptive. And if you struggle to discern if a book will be good or not, ask me! I try to read the shitty throw away books just so I can help educate my mentees on what to NOT do. Know your enemies including bad authors. (Matt auryn is one of these bad authors. No matter how popular "psychic witch" is.

Working with Psychic Abilities Part 1:

With the New Year here, I'm wanting to share some more information on this blog. Since i'm a part-time psychic and part time nature witch I'll start from there.

Today's topic is development of the psychic eye (PE) and how to strengthen it. For the sake of this post, PE is short for your psychic abilities. For me, it's how I interact with people's energies when I read them.

I also use it when I meditate, do my own cleansing, or do my own readings.

There are a lot of names for this, intuition, Witch's Eyes if you're fan of Mat Auryn, third eye, etc.

But to encompass all of those, i'll call it a PE.

Everything said above and below is based on my own experiences. This is not medical advice or anything related to that. Just my own take and attempt to share what I've learned.

When I typically do meditations to strengthen my psychic eye, I specify what I'm wanting to attract/see. This is important, because your PE is one of the ways you will connect with the universe, your higher self, etc.

When you work on strengthening your PE, and are working to strengthen in the way I do, you are essentially telling the universe that you are ready to receive it's messages and it's energies more clearly than you have before.

This can be used for the purpose of reading people, for strengthening your intuition, and for spell work.

However, If you aren't careful with how you specify this, you may get intuition that shows you things you aren't comfortable with. Think of Melinda Gordon in Ghost Whisperer seeing and helping every spirit she comes across. You may also find yourself more open to people's energies, and this might take a negative toll on you.

Thus, when I meditate on my PE, I make it clear that I attract and see what benefits me. I do not want to see things that scare or frighten me, I do not want to see that which makes me uncomfortable.

My abilities are to help me and those I work with, not to terrify me.

Some affirmations you can try to use while meditating to strengthen your PE: "I only attract that of the highest degree." "I see only that which benefits me." "I see and attract that which helps me. No negativity is allowed in this space."

When you have psychic abilities or intuition, it's easy to attract and see everything, so setting parameters is paramount.

So what does strengthening one's PE actually look like? Meditation--

For my work, the place known as the "third eye" to some, or the pineal gland, or just the space between my eyebrows is where I tend to focus specifically when doing a meditation to strengthen my PE .

To open it, I envision a purple, indigo wheel in that space, turning clockwise. I set the intention for it to be open and be used for the work i'm doing.

I don't every truly close my PE, I at least have it open for my daily intuition. That's probably why I have so many problems.

And what are these problems: If your energy isn't balanced, and you spend too much time with the psychic side of things, you run the risk of not being grounded. For me, this manifest in lack of concentration, occasional anxiety, and being overwhelmed.

Try to make awaking your psychic abilities being apart of a holistic process.

So that's my uncoordinated spiel on intuition, psychic intuition, and more. Next, I may talk about protection.

Jasper Reviews "Psychic Witch" By Mat Auryn - A Fucking Dredge To Get Through

This is a book that's for a very specific audience.

This is a book for Wiccans or Wiccan-adjacent witches who can visualize, who practice "meditation" of some form, who believe in the very specific energy working system that the author describes, and who believe in the same sorts of magic/animism as the author does, i.e.:

four elements plus "quintessence" aka spirit,

a weird mangling of the concept of an inner child and shadow self brought on by modern people thinking that Carl Jung's shadow work was solely about "negativity" and "bad vibes",

everyone having a higher self,

everyone having a divine purpose,

three levels of souls,

auras,

cleansing and protecting before any and all actions even in your own space,

and so on.

I am none of those people. Mat Auryn's approach does not work for me, and I hated having to slog through 7 pages of introduction (aka Mat Auryn's backstory) only to get to the actual content and be sorely disappointed in this book that claims it can "be adjusted" to other people's spiritual/religious/magical viewpoints only to discover that it really can't. A lot of the things claimed to be universal (e.g. definitions of intuition versus psychic ability) are, in fact, not universal. I would argue this author up one side and down the other about this. Not in that the author is inherently wrong in their own definitions, but in that it's somehow universal.

I am also, as usual, docking a point for spelling magic with a K. I'm glad I own this copy, because I could go through with a pen and scribble out the unnecessary K.

This is not a useful book to someone who has already developed their own understanding of energy and energy work. But at the same time, it's so boring and stale (even with exercises all over the place) that I wouldn't want to give it to a beginner either.

Official Jasper Review: 3/10, not what I needed, and I don't want it.

Maybe other people get something from this book, but I just couldn't.

Exploring Bonnie's psychic side is really fun. The lore for Psychics is kind of sh*t, but certain elements do give me free reign to flesh it out in my work.

If the writers had introduced it in S4 and developed it in S5, that would be amazing and make S8 (if they wanted to keep it) more powerful. The chance to build it up was there once the Other Side fell and make it tie better to the final seasons. It would've been so good.
