carmy who sort of has a thing for that kinda casual soft dominance in your guys’ everyday life. when you guys are out together in a crowded train car or busy street how he’s behind you with a hand on your back or hands on your waist directing you where to go or when to stop. he lights your cigarettes for you even when you already have your lighter out ready to go. when he insists on getting things for you or opening jars because he doesn’t want you to worry your pretty little head about anything. he’s the type of guy where when you’re at a bar with friends, he’s behind you at the pool table, a hand over yours and his breath hot on your ear as he helps you shoot the cue ball.

carmy loves quietly to me. not quietly where he doesn’t do anything but quietly in a way where it’s more personal, intimate but not in some erotic sense. he tries, and i mean really tries, to not bring any dramatics or unnecessary chaos into what the two of you have. and it gets difficult for sure when things start to cave in on itself like they always seem to do or when shit just happens too fast to comprehend. sometimes things just slip out and snowball into a chaos. but things inevitably die down. go back into that quietness.

it’s rubbing circles into the back of your hand. fingertips trailing up and down your spine. a cup of coffee made the way you like ready when you wake up and he’s already gone to do whatever he has to do that day. a knee bumping and staying against yours whenever he’s beside you.

someone said this in the replies of the casual dominance post about carmy (thank you whoever you were) and i really liked it…

he cuts your food for you…not all the time obviously but he does it just absentmindedly. he slides your plate over before grabbing a knife and fork. really it’s easier for you because it takes him literally two seconds to do it compared to you. the first time he did it, you were cutting a steak and practically shaking the whole table with the vigor you were putting into the knife until he sighed and said “hey i got it,”. you find it nice, endearing: telling people that carmy’s “just sweet like that”. makes you think about when you were kid and having a parent cut up every piece of food on your plate for you. kinda like feeling taken care of, in a small little way.

carmy fucks in missionary so he can put his forehead against yours and make the craziest eye contact with you. like it’s in the effort of feeling like you’re melting into one another if not physically then mentally. he’s also big into feeling your short little breaths against his lips through sharp thrusts. along with telling you to keep your eyes on him when you close your eyes for more than a second. but you didn’t hear that from me………

carmy runs hot. like your personal, walking space heater. and i know everyone says this about guys but i don’t care!!! carmy is a huge example of a human furnace. he could put a hand on your waist to squeeze past you and you swear to god that you felt an, albeit, fleeting burning sensation on that place on your waist. don’t get me started on sleeping in the same bed as him either because in the night he just naturally moves himself closer to you. there’s an arm draped across your chest and his heat is just burning into you. and it’s sweet on the outside but once you wake up you feel the need to tear the blankets off of you and sit in a tub of ice. but everyone once and a while it’s nice. especially when the biting, dry chicago cold starts to hit and all you can do is latch onto him after you spent a few minutes outside to shovel a walkway or to move your car.

while you were sleeping the bear au…walk with me…

something something you end up in a hospital room staring at the extended berzatto family and friends after a nurse let a little white lie slip that you were whomevers (probably richie if we're being real) fiancee. and really you just said that because you had saved the guy after a sudden tumble onto the train tracks and you felt the obligation to check on him, be at his bedside. but now that's really extended to be taken as a truth, getting hit with an onslaught of "no fucking way's". big family, too. hell...big, scary family.

it all leads to you meeting carmen. everyone seems to call him carmy and apparently he's some chef. you've never been one to keep up with the culinary world. but you might as well now. he offers you cigarettes, keeps you steady with a hand on your waist and another at your shoulder when you cross the slick, iced over sidewalk to your apartment (the two of you fall anyways), comes by every so often when he's not busy to check in on you: sometimes he shows you how to cook some things, nothing extravagant of course but they're filling and taste good (at least they do when he lends a hand in your cramped kitchen).

and you start to feel terrible when you think you're starting to be into him, and i mean really into him, when you're, in all technicality, supposed to be acting engaged to someone you don't know much of anything about. you really start to feel shitty when he gives you the most fleeting peck on the lips underneath a bundle of mistletoe because of course it's just your luck that a lazy someone didn't want to pull a ladder out of storage to take it down. you kick yourself even more when you happened to like the fastest little kiss of your entire life.
