I’d say it’s approximately 35-40 more chapters to go. Give or take. Each chapter ranging between 1500-5000 words each.

I hope that doesn’t scare you off. 😉 Taste of Strawberries always was a T-Rex of a story. More like a Hayffie trilogy than a stand alone novel.

Honestly, a big reason why ToS hasn’t been finished yet (besides: life) is the lack of feedback.

I don’t know why it is - the small size of the fandom, the fact that ToS is taking forever to be finished or if people just don’t like what I write.

But man, sometimes I wonder if there’s some kind of universal Tumblr law out there which states that people cannot and must not comment on Taste of Strawberries whatever they do. 56 chapters in (if you include the ones split into parts), this WIP has gotten maybe 6 comments on Tumblr in total. 😱

Would ToS be finished by now, had it gotten more feedback? Absolutely!

Will the lack of it send it to the Graveyard of Abandoned Fics? Absolutely not!

So, it’s a promise: You will get to the end of ToS. And the best way to make it happen all the faster is the famous old go-to recipe: like, comment and reblog! ❤️

Okay, so I'm looking at the titles of the I Do chapter and AUAU titles again and now I think that my theory is probably incorrect but I can't decide if it's because the reveal will happen before I thought it would or after somehow? I don't see how it could be after because I thought it would be around s2 season finale but some of these chapter titles are throwing me off (as I assume they're supposed to lol). In any case my theorizing continues!

Btw I can't record right now so I haven't brought it up but do you have an opinion on podfics? I would really love to record at least one of the AUAUs when I have time!

lksdghlghf they are definitely meant to confuse, I feel so evil about some of them, literally, when I was coming up with the titles, I texted my partner at some point: 'I'm so vile with these omg' which I still stand by xp

Chapter 48

So I do, more than a little surprised that I haven’t done so already. And that’s when hell really breaks loose.

Chapter 48 summary: Hudson is naturally worried that if Grace touches the string that ties Cyrus to the gargoyles, that Grace will be poisoned. The bloodletter says that Grace has been poisoned since she was conceived… but it’s only her demigod bloodline that’s keeping her alive from it. And also the reason why Cyrus’s bite didn’t kill her. 

As the three of them go to do this, the bloodletter tells them that she’s stopped time EVERYWHERE so that Grace can do this. But Hudson standing around and asking more questions is wasting time. 

So Grace starts to try and connect with them. After the second attempt, Alistair mentally joins her, and keeps yelling out encouragement. And I think that my long-time followers know what I’m going to say about this endless scene: I don’t mind it, but it goes on for way too long. We’re on page ~260 of 949! Brevity is the soul of wit, and I don’t think the author has ever learned that. 

Chapter 49

“Any closer and I’d have had an icicle through some things that icicles should never, ever go through.” 

I think the author was aiming for indicating Flint’s penis, but like… Icicles should probably never go through ANY part of your body. 

“Then again, you and I rarely see eye to eye on anything, do we, Cassia?”

Chapter 49 summary: In her mental struggle to connect with the gargoyles, Grace touched the green demigod string inside of her. When she released it at the end of the previous chapter, the world violently shook. This chapter was everybody dodging the rocks and ice that Grace accidentally sent scattering. 

After the world calmed down, the bloodletter fixed everything with her powers, so it’s like it never happened. 

Chapter 50

Surprise registers in the Historian’s eyes, followed quickly by annoyance. And then he snaps his fingers. And Hudson disappears.

Chapter 50 summary: Randomly, this guy shows up in the bloodletter’s cave. For the first time in three books, we get her name, which is Cassia. This dude's name is Jikan, and he has pierced nipples. (A fact that the narration reminded us of TWICE.) He is literally the god of time, and he is there to fix Grace’s “latest mess”. It takes way too long to get to this singular point, but what else is new in this book? When Hudson insists that he’s going with Grace, Jikan makes him disappear. 

Chapter 51

The Historian grins, and somehow it’s even scarier-looking than his frown. “You’ll see.”

Chapter 51 summary: Grace threatens to touch her green demigod string again if Jikan won’t bring Hudson back. So he does. 

He then pulls out some knitting needles and proceeds to knit strands of time together. While listening to a One Direction song. However, it’s only the chorus over and over. So even Grace is annoyed by it by the time he’s finished. 

However, Grace is one of three people who can see the finished product, and all of her friends are baffled by the entire thing. Jikan warns her that she shouldn’t touch it, or else they’ll get broken again. And then he kind of pizza-tosses it up into the air, and tells them to wait and see.

I bought Aziraphale's Bible so you don't have to.

Am I insane? Yes. Was it worth it? Maybe. In most* of both season 1 and season 2 of GO, there's a very specific Bible on a bookstand next to Aziraphale's desk. It's a vintage illustrated plate book by Harold Copping, known as the Harold Copping Bible, published by the religious tract society in London in 1910. It features some of the most well known Old Testament stories, summarized and annotated by the Bishop of Durham at the time, and illustrated by Copping, who was freshly returned from a sojourn in the middle east. Ironically, It was meant as a lay-person's version of a comic book, short, exciting by use of exotic illustrations, and easy to read.

But my (expensive) gain is now your gain! As I've collected here every visible page in both seasons for your reading and viewing pleasure.

S2E2 22:29, S2E2 40:05 Obviously, the plate illustrations and text look different here than in the real bible, because they were created for the show. But there are a few more particularities here. For one, this layout with the thin grid around the text, as well as the paragraph symbol next to the first title, indicate that this would have been a printer's proof copy, not a finished book. It shows you the layout grid and can be annotated for changes. Second, there seems to be a war going on between fonts. Where the "chapter" of Job begins, we get a font and a style similar to the original bible, which gets rudely interrupted by a dropped capital (from the real book) and a Gothic-style font/verse numbers like in the original King James version of the printed Bible.
