shannon! hello! i was looking at your pinterest boards again (they're so aesthetic i love it!) and marty's really stood out to me! so i wanted to ask, what's his story like? any fun things about him? :)

OMG blu!!! ( @xxluckystrike ) hello!! :D i hope you're doing well! <3 (and thanks so much for stopping by the askbox!) AWWWWE thanks so much!!! :') that means so much to me omggg, my pinterest boards for my OCs are truly some of my favorite things to collect and put together - it just helps so much with writing, the vibes i try to go for, the aesthetic of course, quotes, face claims, scene inspo for them.....i could go on haha! it truly helps so so much for me, so i appreciate it SO much!! :)

my sweet bean marty!!! you can absolutely ask about him (and i am beyond happy to talk about him!) and i've been working with writing him a bit more for the fic and just !!!!! i love him so so much! :)

SO!!!! Marty - or to others Martin Armstrong, or to Esther, her little brother by about 14 months haha! In the story, we won't really see a *whole* lot about Marty face-to-face, but Esther thinks about him a lot and does mention him throughout the story when thinking about home and her childhood (two major things that hang off of her like a comfy cardigan). My best way to describe Marty is that not only is he Esther's brother, but he's tough as nails, intelligent, charming, resourceful, loyal, a ride-or-die type of friend, and one helluva medic out in the Pacific (corpsmen, he's in the Marines, but for sake of better word)!

Marty worked at the nearby Navy Yard, with a few school friends, but once Esther went to school and war rumblings crossed the Atlantic, he decided to sign up for the Marines - he wanted to be with the best of the best, and with Dad as a Marine, he wanted to follow in his footsteps. So when Esther went to work at Fort Bragg with W-Sector, Marty was sent to Parris Island, South Carolina where he underwent his training before being sent to the Pacific.

He gets close with a group of guys in the Marines his age - Charlie Godfrey (his closest friend in the platoon) along with Joey Merrie, Calvin Hindton, Glenn Jercovic, Roger Kaplan and Warren Whitwatcher. Fun fact: Charlie Godfrey's little sister, Flo, is on a certain base in Europe, working as a mechanic on the ‘Flying Fortresses’ throughout 1943, helping take care of a dog named Meatball (lol!).

Marty’s role in the story is really this enigma of being Esther’s brother and someone consistently important to her life (to then parallel another OC, Jeannie, the tragic story of her and her brother, Fitzgerald, but more on that another time).

Him being a medic is one of the things that really defines his character, especially being out in the pacific, and I purposely write some of his letters to Esther where he describes what that experience is like and what he goes through to further exemplify his character and his inherent need to help people. From the way Esther talks about him early on in the fic, you wouldn’t really *guess* that about him but the more we hear and see of him, and once he starts mentioning it, we see where that makes sense.

And if anything, Marty is VERY proud of his sister! :) [#1 supportive lil brother truly]

Another fun fact: Esther has brought up Marty 71 times and I only have 23 chapters written! Lol!

Everywhere she looked, she saw her brother; she saw Marty in the doorway to their home, with his backpack and long socks on his first day of 1st grade. She saw Marty at the kitchen table, his usual spot left open for him ever since that day he left. She saw him in the family room, not only in a few notable pictures, but in his usual slightly dented spot on the couch that the majority of people left open. Half the time it still felt like Marty was there.

Pt VII good omens S1E3 but i'm in a fever-induced haze and i watched it four days ago

Hello maggots it turns out I may have a viral fever... or perchance I'm just going viral in the GO fandom and Crowley being so hot has given me a fever (this is what I learned from years of studying thermodynamics). BAHAHAHAHAHAH anyway this is a LOOOONG post.

Whatever it may be... haveth my summary of Good Omens Ep3, or whatever I remember of it, anyway.

The second the episode started streaming everyone was yelling about the cold open in the chat.

I could be conflating this with Ep 1 but I think it begins with Aziraphale's gaslight gatekeep girlboss moment where he straight up LIES TO GOD about giving the dumb humans a flaming sword right after they fell from grace.

Hot take from someone who has negligible biblical knowledge, look at it, guys. What harm has an apple ever done to mankind (except to doctors)? Nothing. *nods vigorously* And then our lovely angel goes and gIVES THEM A GODDAMN FLAMING SWORD. Nice, fire and weaponry, this is going to go well for the world!

Anyway lesson is Aziraphale is a chaotic lil bastard and it's why we and Crowley love him.

Fast forward to uh, Noah's Ark... There is a unicorn and it runs away, which Crowley/Crawly seems concerned about. Azi is just chilling there watching all of humanity be drowned and Crowley, looking gorgeous may I add, walks up and she's like CHILDREN? WHY ARE YOU KILLING CHILDREN?

Did I mention that she looks gorgeous with those flowing locks because she does. It gives kind of Disney Brave vibes, doesn't it? Wait is David Tennant Scottish I WANT A DAVID TENNANT/CROWLEY MERIDA COSPLAY.

Anyway so Aziraphale and Crowley watch everyone drown etc

I may have missed a few centuries but then we have ol' Bill Shakespeare and Hamlet (David!!) and Aziraphale like the bean he is wants to cheer them on, and does it badly.

Crowley is standing there thinking man this angel is a fucking doofus why do I love him, and then they make a deal that allows them to do NO work whatsoever since their work cancels out anyway.

Aziraphale pouts at Crowley and Crowley melts inside and makes Hamlet a success though he doesn't even like Shakespeare's tragedies but Azi does and that's all that matters.

OH YEAH FRENCH REVOLUTION. Just to fuck with Aziraphale and because the painkillers are getting to me, I'm gonna do this one in my shit French (et non, je ne peux pas utiliser les accents, j'utilise l'ordinateur et je ne veux pas ouvrir Google). Okay I ran out of French but yes so he was gonna be hanged but Crowley came and Aziraphale's face literally melted and then he switched clothes with the guard and left him to die while he and Crowley went to dine happily (Aziraphale dined, Crowley was hungry for Azi because he has a watching-angel-eat kink).

Aziraphale being a casual accessory to murder/murderer is the most underrated part of good omens.

Fast forward and it's the holocaust and Aziraphale is tricked by some Nazis and they're about to kill him. But Crowley walks down the aisle to their groom, well, more like skips while yelping, and burns the place down for Aziraphale. Naturally Azi's like OH NO MY BOOKS and is ready to cry, then Crowley gently hands him the suitcase full of books unharmed and says just a little miracle for you, baby, want a ride home? And Aziraphale is left holding the books (which by the by Crowley does not care about, they do NOT read books, again, just for Azi) and looking like the happiest man alive and like he would die for Crowley.

Fast forward and we have Crowley in the sixties SERVING with her bob cut, anyone who doesn't like it can fight me to the DEATH, I LOVE HER, and anyway Crowley manipulates, manslaughters and manwhores her way into getting into the car with Aziraphale. He hands her a bottle of holy water because fuck heaven he would do anything for Crowley, and Crowley offers to drive him anywhere (mmmhm Crowley sure you're just being a gentledemon) and Aziraphale tells her that she goes too fast for him. IF THIS ISN'T CALLBACKED IN S3 WITH CROWLEY SAYING "YOU RIDE TOO FAST FOR ME, ANGEL" on a motorbike or horse or his peepee ANYTHING IDC im gonna throw hands.

I'm choosing to forget all the breakups so end cold open back in present day

They're in a paintball arena and Crowley presses Aziraphale into the wall while growling I'm not nice (ok Crowley bro maybe it's time to take a break from 2010s wattpad) and Aziraphale is just gazing adoringly at him. Ex-Satanic nun comes and is like oh my bad this is an intimate moment and Crowley turns around immediately cross that someone's interrupting them but Aziraphale continues to stare at Crowley's face hornily until he reluctantly looks at the nun too. Thanks for the acting choices Michael Sheen.

They hypnotise her and Azi melts when she mentions the antichrist's toesy-woesies and then they leave and Azi is hit by paint, Crowley circles him devouring him with his gaze and finally blows away the paint with an air kiss. I see you, Azi, I KNOW you can get rid of it yourself. Anyway then Crowley turns all the paintball guns into rifles and people start shooting and Azi is like THIS is my husband and they walk away to have drinks while the police swarms.

People were like 'Crowley only ensured no one got killed because of the look Azi gave him' like LMAO have you MET them? Aziraphale is always fucking down for murder, Crowley is the one being like FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AZIRAPHALE NO. Azi was like "shit we gotta kill the antichrist you do it" and crowley's like "bitch slow down we can literally just raise the kid right"

Anyway Crowley gaslights some demons about seeing the hellhound and ig whatever I said happened in Ep 2 with Dog actually happened here etc

The bandstand scene, fuck me. Crowley asks Aziraphale to run away together from the end of the world and Aziraphale says no and they're both sad

Explanation lmao: I wouldn't say I share traits with my ocs, at least not anymore. My ocs more represent people or things I've dealt with as I grew up. Cyro was my first Undertale oc & I originally made him in middle school. Middle school Anna was depressed & angry at the world so I just loaded Cyro up with all kind of trauma. Sorry my son ToT Emma's original creation was an ideal version of myself if I was 'perfect' so she was born out of my insecurities. She is now her own character & I'd like to think she's a gray character (not purely good & not purely evil) She has made mistakes that she's not proud of & has let her emotions get the better of her.

Aabid started off as just a fun ship child with no real weight, but over the years I have made him representative of toxic/abusive spouses. It has helped me resolve some left over trauma but still keeping his fun character. I wrote him as Cyro's ex. Aabid is a caring person but only to certain people. If he can manipulate you or use you for his own gain, he will. There's more story to explain this but I'm keeping this short for now. Let me know if you want to know more.

Spirit. My beloved precious bean. I made Spirit with an old friend but over all he was made to represent my love for Halloween & paranormal/creepy things. He's a lil gremlin who is kind hearted but over all has no emotional attachment to strangers. He would turn you into a frog with no hesitation.

Apollo started off as a laid back pirate vibe. He loved the sea. But of course I traumatized him & gave him anger issues cause fire boi.

Lastly on this list Apex. Apex is just, what if I gave every dark intrusive thought an outlet. Apex is a soul eater. He goes on mass murder sprees often. But also just hot killer boi. Do I need to explain? lol

As for my beautiful wife~

she's a rat. JK lmao But for reals, @wr-n or Nighty, we have been friends for like 8+ years now. She's my BEST friend. We talk about the most silly & unhinged things & both of us are still obsessed over cartoon skeletons. Like how could I ask for a better wife? lol She's a silly goober who has seen me at my worst & has helped me through a lot. She is so kind & everyone is drawn to her cause of it. I would beat up so many people for this woman.

You know you are close with someone if you bicker like an old married couple & can laugh through the entire thing cause you know it isn't serious. My little baby, my firstborn, the first Rook I designed. Used to work as a lil kid in Skyhold's kitchen, until he met the demon Enfenim in that abandoned library hidden there, befriending him (it's another OCs of mines, check my pinned!)

Long story short he gets adopted by my Lavellan after his magic manifested, in the kitchens. Near boiling oil. The left side of his face and shoulder is covered in burn scars. Still he grows up to be a great but VERY unlucky mage, to the point he considers himself bad news and slowly starts to embrace this side of him in a selfdeprecating way. After yet another incident, he leaves her mother and their community, deciding he wants to make just one single good thing for her: finding Solas. Hiding his identity he ends up joining the crows, finding out he's quite good as an assassin. Relationship wise I brutally ship him with Elgar'nan, but more specifically he's in a weird... double triangle romboid (?) relationship with also Sulenan and Bellara??? (aka Sulenan also has a relationship with all of them but Bellara and Elgar'nan don't deal with each other.... unless the game will state otherwise >:D) He's hella young, in his early twenties, but usually fakes his age and tries to pass as someone older. He's also the shortest elf you'll ever meet.

◆ Saara(?) "Rook"

Qunari ◆ female ◆ she/her Veil Jumpers ◆ Bow Rogue (Arcane Archer)

She's meant to be the real Rook, you know, the one who Varric recruits. Qunari who was taken in by a (very open minded) Dalish clan. I'm still unsure if she was born in the Qun or not, in any case she embraced the elven culture as her own. She can be considered diplomatic and understanding, a good bean. The idea behind her is linked to the Qunari having metallic like skin... I wanted to make a golden one since they're usually grey in games. I'm not sure about the name Saara just because I remembered now Sera has a very similar sound. We shall see if I'm going to change it.

◆ Sulenan

Elf ◆ Male ◆ he/him Shadow dragons ◆ Two handed Warrior (Slayer)

I idealized him as a... mortal form Elgar'nan would use to mingle and learn the hell has happened while he was gone but he became a whole unique character. A Liberati of dalish origin, he's one of the angriest characters I have, hating humans for what they've done to his people and their rotten society, hating the chantry for its comforting lies, hating the elvhen gods because... well apparently they're evil now. In the end he's just very lost and heartbroken, desiring only for things to get better. Alas he's also practical and knows you gotta make your hands dirty if you wanna achieve anything. Headcanon wants Elgar'nan can control him through Vallaslin, I also fantasized about Sulenan sharing the same blood of his god. He feels comforted by Bellara's presence tho, his "Official" relationship it's going to be with her. For the headcanon chaotic one check LilRook above 👀

It's just... chaotic. Take the Dnd core rules and turn them into a person. They're unpredictable, at times taking a kind choice, while another time they will act in scary ways. It isn't like they don't like rules and push against them, for Anarca rules simply aren't part of their world. Beside their peculiar behavior, Anarca loves to experiment but mostly they want to have *fun*. You want to see the skeletons dance? You'll have that. Look wise people are always scared as they're extremely tall, most of their face half covered by hair with just their horns poking out.

Melancholic gal whom had to join the wardens in order to survive not so different from the Hero of Ferelden and also the token human (?) of this group. While she has a rooted sense of duty which made her a good warden, she still misses and fantasizes about the kind of life she would have gone through if she stayed among nobles, instead she had and still has to fight monsters and to come into terms with her Calling being closer than not. The idea was to have her romance Emmrich, letting her coming to term with the concept of death through him.

The cheerful and funny guy of the group but also the most clueless one. Honestly he doesn't know why he joined the Veilguard... he probably doesn't even know he's part of the Veilguard. Still, he isn't one to ask complex questions to himself or others, somehow he's able to work with whatever is at hand, navigating through every situation, hopefully bringing a smile on people's face in the meanwhile. He's goofy but still charismatic and enthusiastic, a disney princess in the body of a burly pirate drawf.

Whenever it's Hardcase's turn to look after everyone else's Beans, things tend to get a little chaotic... Mostly because the lil guys have no real self-control (unlike their respective troopers) and go overboard in any activity provided to them. Including eating.

Atsushi Nakajima || Tickle HCs

As promised, here are some Atsushi tickle hcs! And now to leave the house to get ready to hang with my friend!

Lee

Didn’t even know he was ticklish

He’s extremely sensitive and reacts to the lightest of touches

10+ on the ticklish scale, pls have mercy on this ticklish lil bean!

Dazai is his main attacker. He loves tickling Atsushi and making him laugh

Kenji, Kyouka, Ranpo, Junichiro and Naomi all team up on poor Atsushi

Kunikida saves Atsushi more than he tickles him but he does give the boy some tickles on occasion after hand to hand combat training

Yosano tickles him accidentally whenever she does physical checkups but keeps tickling him if he’s jittery and nervous

Atsushi gets tickled by Akutagawa almost as much as he gets tickled by Dazai

Walking tickle spot. Anywhere he’s tickled he will laugh but Atsushi’s most ticklish spot is his tummy (specifically his bellybutton) and a very specific spot just below his armpits and at the top of his ribs

He also has really ticklish legs, specifically the backs of his knees

Loves getting tickled by those he’s close with but will not be comfortable around those he’s not close with

Cutest laugh in the world! Atsushi has the world’s best laugh and everyone loves it. He squeals, squeaks, hiccups and snorts and has the loudest most hysterical belly laugh that’s extremely contagious

Ler

Hardly tickles others but can and will do so if he’s pestered enough

Really gentle, almost too gentle when he first tickled his co-workers

Dazai had to tease him incessantly to get Atsushi to really dig into his sides

He became really good at tickling thanks to Dazai being his tickle coach as they joke about it

Has the most chaotic tickle fights with Kyouka, Kenji, Junichiro, Naomi and Ranpo. He can win, but if the group gangs up on him, he will not stand a chance

Tickles Kunikida due to a bet he has with Junichiro, Kenji and Kyouka but has yet to make the man break

His favorite lee is Akutagawa

Atsushi is one of the lucky few who can tickle Akutagawa and takes full advantage of his privilege

Atsushi’s more of a lee than a ler but he has his moments of going into tickle monster mode and successfully tickling whoever he wants

He can tease really well but if it’s someone other than Akutagawa, Atsushi will fluster himself in the process which everyone finds funny

Overall, he loves being both a lee and a ler. He finds tickling to be a pleasant, fun bonding experience thanks to the ADA
