like three people have asked if it's weird that beyonce is releasing a country song. i am the wrong person to ask about this, not because i'm a writer who thinks all artists should play around with genres at least once in their lives, but because i'm a geek who grew up with clamp manga. back then, it was anyone's fucking guess what genre a clamp manga was gonna be when it got announced and i honestly miss that sense of mystery in fandoms.

So, a changeling is sort of like a p-zombie?

(For the unaware, “p-zombie” stands for “philosophical zombie”. It’s a thought experiment in philosophy that describes a being that’s outwardly identical to a human, but does not have a consciousness; that is, a p-zombie does not think whatsoever, although it looks like it thinks to an outsider observer. There’s a whole wikipedia article on it that explains the concept better than I can!)

They don't exactly think, as in "I dont want this" "I like that". But, Changelings do have a form of "Consciousness". It's just that their consciousness is more like a series of commands or tasks than actual formulated thoughts.

Timmy's Changeling has a very advanced "consciousness". It can predict future actions and reroute its tasks to pick only the best options for its situation.

We fill their heads with static to ensure that the Changeling does not form thoughts about anything. Thoughts leads to opinions, and opinions leads to incorrect actions. A proper Changeling should have more static in their mind than a TV screen on a defunct channel!

Apparently they made a next generation wizards of waverly place and the guy who played the eldest brother is not only acting in it as a magic teacher (the job he got when the original show ended) he's also a producer on the show. Idk to what extent but it seems like he's a pretty big creative force in its production. good for him, it's a nice change of pace to see a disney actor actually get to influence how the show they're in is made.

#actors are artists to yknow #vitpost #I just saw a tiny behind the scenes of the set design #and I always loved the set design in the original #it's really cool to see that they kept as much as they could while building on it to show the passage of time #ofc they couldn't get all the original set pieces back but the way they replaced them seems natural like of course it would change a little #I hope it's good actually I really did love the original in spite of it being a sitcom #it had enough worldbuilding and drama to work for me #even tho it was at its core a parody of the magic school genre #and Ioved that genre so it sometimes felt a little mean. to me. :( but other times it was just creative and just poked playful fun at it

Tbh Dirge of Cerberus' actual gameplay isn't as bad as I was expecting it to be, like I'm almost 4 missions in and I still haven't died, but the gameplay getting interrupted every 5 minutes by some kind of micro cutscene is driving me up the wall. Did they really have to stop the action just to show a common model NPC walking out of scene. Was that 100% necessary

I don't think it deserves the super super low rankings it got #It's like a 6.5 or a 7 out of 10 so far tbh #One of my buddies said that it was one of those games where the hype made people expect too much #So people thought it was worse than it actually is #It's about as good as GG2 Overture and Overture got 7s and even a few 8 out of 10 rankings back at release #Though tbf FF7 basically changed the RPG genre forever and no one in the west knew wtf a Guilty Gear was when Overture dropped #Overture definitely had an advantage there. Dirge of Cerberus was NEVER going to live up to Final Fantasy 7's hype #Doomed right outta the gate. I hope the devs weren't too beat up about it
