Headcanon that every single time that song is played, anywhere in the world, when it gets to 'change the Fates' design', the Fates kinda get summoned, like they're all 'Who tf is calling us this time?????' and it just. keeps. happening.

So they're getting so fed up that at this point, when they hear that line, they *will* find out who it is and they *will* 'change the Fates' design' so the poor person responsible for that will end up with some "completely random" bad luck pretty soon after

Now I’m Not Saying That I Should Be Allowed To Design Servants For Fate, But....

Summer Unit, Caster Chiron has Arrived! As the immortal Caretaker and Teacher of Mount Pelion, there’s little doubt that he knows all the tips and tricks to survive a coastal month in the sun. What’s that? The Constellation is wrong? Sagittarius? Don’t be silly, Chiron’s always embodied the Constellation Centaurus. Always.

That "Always" bit is meant to be somewhat ominous which hints at the whole "rewriting and creating heroes" idea in my last post about this Eternal Summer Stage event.

And if i am to be 100% honest, I don't quite like the final result still in terms of the toga, however, I know that if I keep working on it it will never get done and that's just the way that artists are lol. The effects and everything else though? Beyond what I was even expecting for it to turn out as.

Anywho.

In terms of design, I was mostly just going for the "Dad who has the Cooler" with a casual look for the first two designs and the costume dress really isn't a drastic change either just being called Hatless. The final ascension was a more divine feel where you get that connection with the stars and space that Chiron has due to his constellations. The Costume change there is just "Divine Blessing". I honestly couldn't pick between the two colors so. Costume Dress.

So. Anyways. Each of the stars in the final ascension design are the major "Centauri" stars within Centaurus, the Constellation that Chiron/his NP is embodying here rather than Sagittarius.

The large star that Chiron has in hand is Theta Centauri, also called Menkent, and then the ones on the staff are Alpha-Gamma Centauri.

The top three stars are Alpha Centauri or Rigil Kentaurus and Toliman, and Proxima Centauri. The three make up the full Alpha Centauri as the two blue stars are a binary system that Proxima orbits

The middle two are Beta Centauri or Hadar and Agena, another binary star pair

The lower two are Gamma Centauri which is another binary star group but are unnamed

Actually, the myth of Centaurus is a little wonky because certain texts refer to Centaurus as the Father of all Centaurs and the constellation is because he put an image of himself in the sky where others point to it being the other constellation that Zeus turned Chiron into instead of Sagittarius. Honestly, I'm more inclined to the latter due to conflicting texts about mount Pelion and the Centaurs themselves as it's implied that Chiron was already on Pelion before the other Centaurs arrived in some texts

("The Kentauroi were spawned by the cloud-nymph Nephele after she was violated by the impious Lapith king Ixion. She deposited her double-formed brood on Mount Pelion where they were nursed by the daughters of the immortal kentauros Kheiron (Chiron).")

So at least in this/my version of Myth/Fate, Centaurus is Chiron as a Caster and Healer but no less a teacher, rather than the more combat-ready and "war-like" Sagittarius.

I don't have everything mapped out, but I do have skills and NP sorta created, if I actually ever get to the full thing, who is to say lmao.

A single target Noble Phantasm much like Antares Snipe, however, while Sagittarius uses a bow, Centaurus uses his staff to sweep through and pierce the body of Lupus. This is the story of Chiron. However, here, his job is not finished. The slaying of "Lupis" ends, and thus the Teacher and protector of Pelion returns to those he protects and tends to them.

At its base, one could call it the Single Target version of Geronimo's Tsago Degi Naleya in which it deals damage and heals the party after.

"Entrust to me the stars and my Guiding hand shall lead you, o watchmen of the night. I encircle myself twice with the seven heavenly bodies so that I may continue my role among the stars. You who has woken me, fall. Hunt of Lupus."

Truth be told, still workshopping the Noble Phantasm, but it's fine, it's out there as a concept. It's a lot like Antares Snipe though, I guess? Because I did want to lean into the Greek and Constellation side of things and just. Oh well. Originally, though, I was going to make Chiron and Chariclo one Servant, and then have their Noble Phantasm be Chariclo's ("Lifeblood of Mount Pelion") but then split them up because idk I enjoy hell. They're both casters though, because I refuse to put more Rulers into the already bloated Ruler cast.

I do not have voice lines at the moment despite the fact that I have all of Chariclo and all of Agravain's finished lol

as pretty as proto Dorothea is i really don’t mind she was changed a little more bc blonde=foreign is SO incredibly overplayed in fate and the leotard thing is kinda odd for the time period. That one would work much better in a more contemporary setting as it’s so modern looking with the sheer top and cut out sleeves. The other is also anachronistic but it’s a little less ‘stepped off a French fashion magazine’ vibe at least plus the orange and black palette is really fresh.

A Glimpse into the Past

Also quick edit!!! These kid designs are of Alfonse, Triandra, Peony (Sharena) and Sharena (Peony)! Unsure on ages, just. Ambiguously small LMFAO (sorry if I wasn't clear enough! I forgor.)

Well, I may not have been able to make time on my big piece, but I do have these concepts/roughs I made for it! Only focusing on the most important parts of each design, which is why the clothes are left blank lmfao

Something I've been headcanoning for a looong time is that the girls who'd become fairies had slightly different appearances, as humans/children. The biggest reason behind it is to make the changeling shenanigans more believable -- I can accept mistaking a blonde/orange for a blonde/pink, especially if there's no reason to think otherwise. Maybe it's a trick of the light. But I draw the line at your sister inexplicably having lavender eyes every now and again when they're supposed to be green LMFAOOO

If Lif can have red eyes, Totally Not Sharena Peony, as we know her, can have lavender eyes. After becoming something not quite human. Before then she gets blueish-green eyes. Which has the same effect as the orange being juuuust slightly off but like why would you ever think about that!!!!!

Some other thoughts:

> I like to think that Triandra and Peony/Sharena are half sisters, which is why she stands out a bit.

> I also like the idea that Triandra and Alfonse have some visual similarities, too. Mostly in the hair, both having somewhat androgynous styles, with a waviness to it. There's a sense of familiarity, in foggy memories.

surprise! i survived finals and somehow managed to pass all my classes! here's chapter four of change the fates design to celebrate!

(it's my favorite chapter so far, as well as the longest!! i never really write fast-paced action/combat scenes, so this was a fun challenge!)

remembering that Caleb originally designed the Vault of Amber to carry corpses--specifically, he envisioned killing Astrid and Wulf, using their remains as stand-ins for his parents' dead bodies, and that's...a lot. But--

It was supposed to be for carrying corpses. For making them conveniently disappear. When the Nein talk about bringing Molly back to the Blooming Grove to give him a proper burial, Caleb starts ritually casting Vault of Amber. "To take him with us," he says. Because that's exactly what this spell is built for, to carry bodies. And while Molly's lying there lifeless, Caleb is right beside him, still concentrating on his spell.

I don't know. Something about how he built this portable coffin to carry his former lovers who betrayed him. Something about how he was going to keep Molly in there. Caleb still wanting to hold onto his Circus Man in some way. His magic wasn't enough to save him, but. For just a moment, he still wants to keep him close.

And then, before the spell can take hold, when he's still looking down at Mollymauk and truly believes him to be gone--miraculously, his eyes open--

Story - summarized

Nikki is once again at the sea of stars. Another attempt to save Miraland from destruction, another failure. No matter what she does differently, the result is the same.

She stands with Leonid as a space shuttle holding the last hope of civilization gets annihilated by a black hole. Leonid tells Nikki that she has already tried all possible star trails, and none of them lead to Miraland's salvation.

But Nikki refuses to give up. Leonid waits with her, and as they wait, they see a vision through the black hole... a memory.

One night years ago, Nikki traveled with her family to find a spot to watch the aurora. She felt so small and insignificant in comparison to the cosmic lights... yet they were so stunning that they seemed to wrap her up, like she could float away on starlight.

Not only that, but Nikki this time finds something else where the memory had been: a camera. An AI from inside introduces herself as Glow, and Nikki shows Glow the starry night sky. Even in darkness and annihilation, there was still beauty.

Leonid listens as Nikki insists she will not give up trying to save Miraland. She'll make her own path if she needs to - a fallen star suddenly glows, creating a new star trail.

He warns her that if she continues on this new path, she'll lose her memories of her past lives. She'll start over from scratch. Nikki knows that her goals won't change, so she will be okay from here on. The two of them part ways... and she meets you at the Gate of Heart.

Connections

-Nikki mentions returning to the Star Sea to save Miraland. In her memories for Star Sea, as well as the Time Corridor event, Nikki goes back in time to try to save Miraland from the apocalypse caused by the Ocean of Memories flooding into the real world.

-Miraland's demise was prophesized by Leonid, in the very first Reflection, Twinkle Twinkle. He tracked the astronomical placement of the stars, and was able to predict their movements and life cycles - all except for one anomaly, and this is why he chose Nikki to carry on his work to find a way to save the world.

-The space shuttle that gets sucked into the black hole is the same shuttle that Glow describes when she was first "born" in her Reflection for Star Beyond Galaxy.

-During the Void Stardust event, we see three of the timelines where Nikki tries to save Miraland: the first ended in starvation in a small survivor's camp, the second was a war that resulted in a child being shot while giving Nikki a gift, and the third is the current timeline, right before the Player finds Nikki in Ideal City.

Fun Facts

-This is the first UR Reflection to have the pearlescent pink color and the animated Awakened card.

-Now, Nikki has two suits based after the sea of stars: Star Sea (the famous purple gown) and now Guides of Star.
