I can't get over how Shadow needed Rouge bribing him with a fucking spaceship to reluctantly attend Sonic's birthday party, but for Amy's birthday he not only went willingly but got all decked out in a costume, played along with the murder mystery game, went through lengths to get her tickets to her favourite band as a surprise present and agreed to go to the concert with her afterwards even tho he doesn't listen to their music to boot. Either Amy is a different kind of special or Sonic is just a different kind of "not worth it" lmao

In Future Families, Shadow and Rouge quit GUN around the time of Ember's custody case. (haven't decided yet if it's before or after) Then Whisper starts up a new group called the Guardian Angels and the two decide to join up. Fastforwarding, the GA has become the new central hero force of the world. Shadow, Rouge, and Amy are all a part of it, as well as a lot of other people. (Sonic is not because he's a free spirit, but he still helps out whenever they need him.) There's even a new heroes program to help get kids the training they'll need if they want to do this sort of thing in the future. There's a minimum age requirement though. They don't want kids going in as young as Tails and some of the others did. So the Robotnik and Hedgehog kids go through regular school for a few years before deciding if they want to join the GA. (Most of them do.) As it stands currently, Ember, Joy, Lux are training with the GA. Rose is about to to enter and she is beyond excited.

So my idea is that befor they only had Ozzie shed then they got sonic knuckles and tali’s and did I look in to hedgehog or ekidnas (idk how to spell) BUT i Just Image maddie or Tom finding fur and qwils everywhere (idk id just think it be funny)

YES I LOVE IT! They absolutely find quills and hairs EVERYWHERE!!

Poor Tom has to deal with everyone's shedding, (he handles it like a champ though uwu)

Interestingly enough, (I looked it up for this ask,) it turns out that echidnas don't actually shed! (Which is something that I had no clue about up until recently.) They're not designed to detach easily, serving as a constant protection to predators.

I think it would be very funny if Dana knew about the whole Robin thing and helped cover for Tim when he had to go on patrol. Like Jack is watching the news and behind him Dana is very carefully helping a bloody Tim up the stairs and thinking of the excuses she'll give the school and Jack.

Tails isn't an expert on babies. He didn't have much confidence in taking care of an alien baby either! But he's not completely lost. Sonic may not be Shadow's favorite person but he's the only hedgehog around that Shadow doesn't feel immediate danger to. He may be the only hedgehog in the area that Shadow is familiar with to begin with.

Sonic didn't baby Shadow or get too loud with him when he coaxes him to allow Tails to help him, he's pretty patient with the hoglet. It still took some time, but they get him to see the two as a source of some comfort and safety. Though it took much longer for Sonic, Shadow did eventually warm up to him as well. This didn't mean Shadow still didn't like him, yet.

Shadow doesn't really wander. He stays put and remains put without fuss. This was eerie, at least Tails found it so. If he or Sonic left Shadow on the couch or in a corner of the house, those glowing red eyes will always follow them no matter how long they're preoccupied on the other side of the room. Two hours, three, four, six, eight, those piercing eyes will not leave you alone for a moment.

So they try encouraging the baby hedgehog to play. And the concept doesn't register in Shadow's brain. Sonic would have laughed if it wasn't so sad how Shadow was utterly lost when Tails would 'Peek-a-boo' at him. They were both disturbed but tried not to show it (because Shadow did seem interested and a tiny bit excited copying their movements).

What WAS disturbing is Shadow has no teeth. None, nada! Sonic is floor'ed and Tails is panicked. It wouldn't be a problem if Shadow were a newborn, but he's 3! He should have fully developed teeth, but his mouth was all gums. No wonder he didn't seem in a rush to eat.

In their defense, Shadow refused to cooperate with them for a full week and a half. They would leave food outside the closet door but it would remain untouched. And Tails didn't want to traumatize the baby hedgehog by taking him to his lab/workshop right after Eggman through him in a machine that caused him agony. They were at their limit at the time.

Shadow once told them he didn't need food to sustain himself due to the chaos energy coursing through his body, but it's likely he might need food now because the machine was set backwards, draining the chaos energy out of him.

Sonic witnessed a horrifying scene of the hoglet tearing apart his chilidog, making a mess of himself and the kitchen at a late night. Why was it so terrifying to him? Shadow DID have teeth. At least that's what he claims when morning came. Tails wasn't sure what to believe.

Bottle feeding wasn't too hard. Shadow took it like a champ. And usually a quick nap follows. Sonic took this time to investigate his findings because he is 100% positive he saw teeth, full grown teeth that sliced into his chilidog with ease.

Pink soft gums is all he saw. He knows what he saw! His poor chilidog getting mauled to de- OH NO! HIS FINGER IS GOING TO BE TURNED TO PORK GRIND, TAILS HEEEEEEELP

Retractable teeth. Tails gently felt around the hard palette until he put pressure on something and Shadow's teeth revealed themselves. Small pin-pick teef.

On a slightly smaller note, Shadow likes to hear other's heartbeat. He just does, it brings him comfort. He may hiss and curl up around Sonic, but when the older hedgehog is asleep, he'll lie down with him and listen to his heartbeat.

(Later on when they try to feed him) They didn't know how strong Shadow might have been as a baby but they didn't have to find out when they feed him. They rock-paper-scissors on it.
