f1_gossip According to reports, there is drama in the paddock! It all started when rumors came out of testimonies close to the couple where Aurora (Charles' new girlfriend) has imposed ''rules'' in her relationship with the driver!
"First, Aurora wanted him to cut ties with all of his exes, especially with the female driver, with whom he is still very close", Let's remember that Leclerc and Y/LN dated for almost 3 and a half years but they separated and they remained on friendly terms, before this they had been friends since childhood and the model ''did not like that'', they tell us.

In Hyunjae’s defense, he didn’t mean for any of this to happen.
When the two of you first met, he really was just trying to be a gentleman. He’d always been raised as someone who should do the right thing without expecting anything in return. He prided himself on sticking by his mother’s lifelong wisdom.
Okay sure, he might’ve had a few slip ups here and there in the form of random girls he’s hooked up with, but could you blame him? He was a university criminal justice major after all. There’s no harm in a little one-night-stand fun. Learning the ins and outs of the world of law and order was soul-draining enough without the freedom to stress-relieve whenever he felt fit.
Right. Back to you.
Your first encounter took place at the Tau Beta Zeta end of semester party. The fraternity had been working towards securing their victory against the KAT sorority just so they could host the damn thing. Hyunjae had yet to find a girl to entice him for the night, instead bothering some of his frat brothers. For example, Jacob Bae, who had just won the IST University boys’ volleyball team a championship title.
He could’ve gone after Lee Haeun, Jacob’s ex, but he had higher standards than that. There was also the incident earlier that day, while setting up for the party. He tried making a move on the KAT president to piss off Sangyeon, but that ended up failing. Honestly, he didn’t even care much about sleeping with anyone at these things anyways. Usually pretty girls came up to him first, but then ghosted him once they realized he wasn’t looking for anything serious. That was the only reason why his rap sheet was so long. He’d never intended on being the resident fuckboy.
Hyunjae remembers spotting you across the room during one of the numerous rounds of beer pong that night. Rather than Juyeon refereeing with Younghoon like they normally did, he stepped in to let the younger male enjoy the party with his girlfriend. The current match-up was Sunwoo versus Changmin with their respective partners. He had glanced up after witnessing the soccer prodigy miss a cup, making eye contact with you accidentally.
You tucked some hair behind your ear, bringing your drink to your lips and taking a sip before looking away. Your friends had sucked you back into the conversation you were having, effectively blocking Hyunjae’s chance to shoot any shots. He quickly got over it upon witnessing Changmin and Sunwoo arguing over the game, egging them on like the instigator he was.
Most people would’ve thought that was the end of it. Just a fleeting glance at each other, dozens of people standing between you. In hindsight, Hyunjae partially wishes that was where your story ended. You would’ve just been another girl to him, a stranger he saw once and never ran into again.
It’s funny how the universe works in strange ways.
By two in the morning, when over half of the partygoers had left the TBZ house, Hyunjae felt his social battery reach empty. He woke up earlier that morning to study for his Victimology final and felt drained by the time he walked out of the lecture hall. (He knew he aced it, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t mentally taxing.) He was just about ready to call it a night when he saw you sitting on the bottom step of the stairs, blubbering into your phone about something.
“What do you mean you left?” You wail, cheeks stained with mascara streaks. “I don’t care about your boyfriend! I’m too drunk to drive home and you were supposed to be my D.D.”
Your words are slightly slurred, a hiccup following your last sentence. Damn, you were cute even when you were crying like a baby. Hyunjae observed as you argued with who he assumed to be your friend over the phone, exasperated by the end of it. Despite not knowing a single thing about you, not even your name, he decided to step in and offer aid.
“I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but I heard you saying you’re too drunk to drive yourself, and as a TBZ member I just can’t let that happen,” he extended a hand to you. “I’d be more than willing to let you stay here until the morning, if you’d like. You can have my room and I’ll just crash in one of the others.”
Your lower lip quivered, as if you were on the verge of even more tears. You sniffle when you respond, eyes doe-like and glassy. “R-Really? You would do that f-for me?”
“It’s a better alternative than taking a rideshare home alone while drunk,” he nods. “And I’m definitely not letting you drive anywhere yourself.”
Hyunjae doesn’t know why he felt so protective over you. The thought of some potentially creepy man taking advantage of you because you were under the influence didn’t sit right with him. He poked his cheek with his tongue, hand still outstretched to you. You took it gently, allowing him to guide you to his bedroom. He grabbed some of his clothes so you could be comfier and gave you a washcloth so you wouldn’t go to be with your makeup on. He felt better knowing you were in the safety of his fraternity house rather than anywhere else. It kind of pissed him off that your friends would leave you to fend for yourself like that.
The next morning, you came down the stairs drowning in Hyunjae’s clothes, rubbing at your eyes sleepily. You held the heel of your palm to your temple, wincing from the headache no doubtedly caused by your hangover. It was around 11 AM when you woke up and most, if not all, of his frat brothers had already left to head home for the holidays.
You found your knight in shining armor sitting at the breakfast bar in the kitchen, a mug with the default male Roblox face in his grasp. He was scrolling through his phone mindlessly, taking sips of his coffee every now and then until he heard you. He spins around in his chair, offering you a warm smile.
“Good morning, Sleeping Beauty. Did you rest okay?” He asks, getting up to grab you your own mug.
Your cheeks burn up at the nickname. The whole situation is still a bit odd to you. You knew of Lee Hyunjae through the grapevine (every other girl at your school), yes, but you’ve never held an actual conversation with him before. And now here you are, taking shelter in his home and sleeping in his bed. It was sweet of him to be so hospitable, though. He could’ve kicked you out and pretended you didn’t exist.
“That’s probably the best I’ve ever slept in my life,” you laugh to cut through the tension. “Thank you for keeping me alive last night. I feel indebted to you forever.”
“It was no problem, at all. My pleasure, actually,” he grins, passing you a mug filled with fresh coffee. “By the way, I never got your name.”
“It’s Y/N,” you tell him, mouth pulling into a smile at the cup he just gave you, which happened to be the female adjacent to his. “Hyunjae, right?”
He doesn’t know if he should be embarrassed by the fact that you already knew his name or not, but given his previous reputation, he thinks it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. He clears his throat and nods as he drinks more of his coffee. He tries to distract himself from the weird feeling bubbling in his chest with how cute you looked in his clothes.
“Do you not have any plans for the break?” You switch the subject, noticing that the house was empty for the most part.
“Nah,” he shakes his head. “I’m from here, so it isn’t really much of a drive to visit home. I’ll go over on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years but that’s about it. Other than that, I like to enjoy having the whole house to myself.”
“Woah, me too! My friends are all from out of town though, so I’m usually really lonely. It’s always so odd thinking about how this is just a stepping stone for people’s lives and I’ve been here all of mine.” You stir some cream and sugar into your coffee, pursing your lips. “So, I take it you’re not doing anything today?”
“Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada,” Hyunjae leans back in his chair. “I’ll probably just watch some movies and call it a day. What about you? Any plans for the break since all of your friends are gone?”
“I have just as many as you.” You sip on your beverage.
“Well, the couch space next to me will be unoccupied if you’d like to join me.”
“I think I might take you up on that offer.”
You feel like maybe this was some sort of elaborate scheme to trap you. Your eyes kept flickering from the TV to his profile, entranced by the blue light illuminating his features. You wanted nothing more than to claim your seat on his lap and ride him into the sunset like a gallant steed, which was ironic considering the way the two of you met.
It’s in the middle of the third movie that you finally feel yourself grow restless. No way could you sit beside Lee Hyunjae, spend the whole day with him, and not jump his bones. It was, like, the most obvious thing to do. It was Lee Hyunjae. Did he expect you not to?
He feels you squirming next to him, glancing at you from the corner of his eye. In all honesty, he’s surprised he’s abstained from touching you this long. From the moment he saw you in his clothes this morning, he wanted you underneath him. He doesn’t know how to initiate anything without seeming too forward though.
Luckily, he doesn’t have to make much effort on his part.
You place one of your hands on his thigh, dragging your nail along the seam of his sweatpants. He turns to you with a raised eyebrow. All you can do is bat your eyelashes at him innocently.
“You know, Hyunjae, I never got to properly thank you for your act of nobility last night,” you start, fingers creeping up higher. “And I just thought of something that I think we’ll both like.”
He doesn’t have the strength in him to restrain himself after that, pulling you into a heated kiss. He nips at your lower lip and tangles his tongue with your own, getting easily lost in the spellbinding of your touch. Your lips trail along his jaw and down his neck, hooking your fingers into the waistband of his pants. You suck deep marks into the skin of his pulse point while simultaneously palming him through his underwear.
You’re moving fast, but you’re on a mission. You’ve been waiting for this all day, you can’t imagine slowing down now. It doesn’t appear that he plans on stopping you either.
Hyunjae throws his head back, hissing when you discard his boxers. The cool air of the house hits his cock at the same time you bite down on the divot where his neck meets his shoulder. Your hand gently wraps around his length, thumb running over the slit to collect the precum that’s formed there. He watches in a trance as you go on your knees between his legs.
You press a sweet kiss to his tip before taking him into your mouth. He groans, twisting your hair around his wrist so he can control your movements. Hyunjae doesn’t think he’s ever wanted head this badly in his life. He’s always been a giving person, always providing the pleasure for the girl he was with. There were only a handful of times that he’s ever been on the receiving end and none of them were memorable. But this time is different.
For some reason, you’re the only one who’s ever been able to get him this riled up this quickly. You’re still relatively a stranger to him, and even though he’s had plenty of one night stands, it’s unlike any of the others.
Your throat relaxes so you can swallow more of him, tongue swirling around the tip. He’s the biggest guy you’ve ever been with, making things a little harder for you, but you were never one to back down from a challenge. And getting Lee Hyunjae to cum from the work of your mouth alone was the ultimate reward.
Hyunjae moans when your attention focuses on his sensitive slit. The sound is music to your ears, goading you into continuing your task. You gag around his dick and tears prick at your eyes when he pushes your face down further, your nose brushing the lower part of his abdomen. One of your hands wanders, tracing and scratching his abs as the other jerks him off.
He swipes away some stray tears with his thumb, bucking into your mouth and hand. “Fucking look at you, taking me like a good girl. You’re so filthy.”
You whine, squeezing your thighs together for your own friction. You can wait, though, entirely too focused on getting him to finish. You’re thankful it isn’t that much longer until he does, painting your lips and cheeks with his release when you pull off of him to press a cute kiss on the same spot. He knows he finished too fast for someone of his caliber, but he doesn’t have it in him to care.
“You’re so hot,” he brings you up to connect your lips once again.
It was very easy to fall into a habit after that.
Throughout the entirety of the break, Hyunjae would call you over or vice versa and you’d rock each other’s world’s. It was practically an entire month of fucking nonstop. You’d done it in the TBZ house living room, in his bed, in the kitchen, in the shower and every other surface you could think of. Your own apartment had been christened plenty with your sexcapades also. Both of your cars had seen you naked too. But the most memorable place had to be his childhood bedroom the night of Christmas. He went to his parents’ for a couple days and hit you with that 3 AM “You up?” text when his libido couldn’t quell. That was probably the quietest you’d ever have to be.
Hyunjae had to explain to his mom that no, he hadn’t gotten mauled by a wild animal in his sleep. It was harder coming up with another plausible lie to cover the source of the hickeys on his neck, but he’d rather tell his mother something stupid than the fact that he was an insatiable freak.
When it came time for everyone to return to school for the spring semester, you’d deluded yourself into thinking there could be something real between you and Hyunjae. I mean, what else were you supposed to do? This gorgeous man had spent almost every single day of winter break with you, even if it was mostly for the sex. That wasn’t all you did though. You shared meals together and talked about your life goals. You truly got to know him better than just the hot frat guy who’s made his rounds with girls on campus.
However, Hyunjae did not think he was ready for that level of commitment.
After spending a month with you and learning all of your little quirks, he thought he was going insane. He’d been in situationships in the past and none of them ever ended well, especially because they always caught feelings. He didn’t want the two of you to fall down the same path. But he noticed the linger of your touches and kisses and the way your eyes sparkled when he spoke. He didn’t want to be the one to break your heart.
He just couldn’t see himself getting into a serious relationship. He was preparing to apply for law schools and get his shit together. He didn’t think he couldn’t handle throwing a girlfriend into the mix. Even if it was you. Bold, pretty little you, who had Lee Hyunjae wrapped around her finger without trying.
Things come to a speeding halt for both of you halfway into the second week back.
Hyunjae was walking out of his Crime Mapping II lecture when he saw you chatting up Cha Eunwoo outside of the building, giggling and being all touchy with him. He doesn’t know why he feels so… stuffy… when he sees that. He doesn’t know why it makes him mad. He doesn’t know why it feels like his heart has just been stomped on a handful of times.
He walks over to you and clears his throat, hands shoving into his jacket pockets. He tries to ignore how cute you look in your puffer coat, nose rosy from the cold. You pause in your conversation to say hi to him before resuming whatever you were saying before. It was like he was invisible.
“I gotta go, but I’ll see you in class tomorrow?” You tuck some hair behind your ear, smiling at the male.
“For sure. Talk to you later, Y/N.” He says, waving as he takes off.
Hyunjae starts in the opposite direction wordlessly, leaving you to stumble behind him like a newborn deer. He looks upset about something, but you’re not sure if you should ask. When you finally match his pace, you frown, tapping his shoulder.
“Hey, what’s up?”
“Since when were you friends with Cha Eunwoo?” Hyunjae blurts, tone catching you off guard. You blink at his outburst.
“For a while, I guess? We’re in the same department and we’ve had a few classes together. Why? Is that a problem?” You stop your steps, forcing him to do the same.
“No, why would it be? I’m not your boyfriend. You can talk to whoever you want.” He backtracks, realizing the connotation behind his question. Shit, why does he not think before he speaks?
“You could be,” you shrug, gaze casted downward to avoid his stare. “You could be my boyfriend.”
Again, because he’s a stupid boy, he chooses not to use his brain in such a critical situation. “I don’t want to be. You can date him for all I care.”
Hyunjae didn’t want to be the one to break your heart, but he knows he did when he sees the flame in your eyes die out. He thinks he broke his own too, chest constricting when tears well up in the corners. You wipe your runny nose with your gloved hand, sniffling with a scoff.
“Fuck you, Hyunjae,” your voice is surprisingly calm, and that scares him more. “Fuck you and your stupid fucking commitment issues and your lack of empathy. Stay away from me.”
He can’t even think of something quick enough to stop you. Of course, his mind runs at a million miles a minute when it’s the worst time. But when he needs it to work most, it fails on him. That’s exactly his luck.
He just stares as your figure gets smaller and smaller, getting further and further away from his reach. His stomach feels ugly, twisted in a way it shouldn’t be. Maybe it’s because he’d considered you a close friend at this point, and now there’s no way you didn’t hate him. He told you things that he hadn’t even told his brothers, things that he hoped would never see the light of day. He’d spoken his insecurities out into the world and you were the one he let see that vulnerable side of him. He had something good going for him finally, and he went and ruined it.
Who could he be mad at but himself?
When Hyunjae sees you again, it’s been at least a week since your argument in the middle of campus.
He’d been beating himself up over the fight the entire time. Numerous what-if scenarios ran through his mind when he should’ve been sleeping. He wonders what he could’ve said to make everything turn out differently. Had he just told you what was bothering him, told you about that icky sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, perhaps you wouldn’t have walked away.
He’s pretty sure you’re doing it on purpose. You avoided him until you knew you’d definitely see him, and then you’d flaunt yourself to purposefully piss him off. Despite only knowing each other for a little over a month, you had Hyunjae read like the back of your hand. You knew he was stubborn and had to be pushed into admitting he was wrong. He’d never outright confess to his mistakes unless you backed him into a corner and forced him to.
So you can imagine his reaction when he saw you walk into that week’s TBZ party with Cha Eunwoo around your shoulders.
If Lee Hyunjae had any faults, it was that he was too prideful. He realizes this when you stroll right past him, ignoring his presence. You giggle at something Eunwoo said as you grab some drinks. There’s no way you aren’t doing this to get on his nerves. Especially not in that outfit.
His grip on his cup is not normal, he knows that. But it’s not subtle if anyone notices and when Juyeon of all people points it out, he knows it even more.
“Yo, dude. Are you good? You look like you might kill somebody if we’d let you.” The younger male pats his back.
“Honestly, no, not really. But there isn’t really anything I can do about it.” Hyunjae huffs, welcoming his defeat with open arms.
“You can talk to me about things. It’s kinda weird but I always feel like getting out your thoughts is better than internalizing and blowing up randomly.” He says after a moment.
“I guess I’m just confused why I’m so jealous of something that isn’t mine.” The heart to heart with his frat brother follows the entire five stages of grief, starting with step one; Denial. He’ll keep denying the real reason he feels the way he does.
“Are you talking about that girl you were messing around with during break?” Juyeon asks, bringing his cup to his mouth. “And the fact that she’s here with Cha Eunwoo?”
Step two; Anger. His cup snaps and the sharp edge of the plastic scratches the inside of his palm. “Why would I be jealous of her being here with him? I could give less of a fuck about that. She’s not my girlfriend, she can do whatever she wants.”
He raises an eyebrow at how defensive his senior gets, lips quirking up. “Sure, Hyunjae. You’re not jealous. But you’re acting like it and you know you are.”
“Well,” step three; bargaining. “I’m not not jealous, I just— I don’t know. I’ve never been on this side of the situation before. Am I even allowed to be mad about it?”
“I mean, it’s a little unconventional, but yeah, I think you are. You spent the better part of a month getting to know this girl. You’ve seen her in ways other people haven’t. Even if you weren’t going into it with the intention to start something, I think it’s hard not to want anything after. Unless you’re completely heartless. But you’re not exactly The Grinch, so.” Juyeon sounds too wise for standing in the middle of a frat party.
“Nothing’s gonna happen now, though. She hates me and wants nothing to do with me because I screwed up.” Step four; Depression.
“You don’t know that unless you make an attempt to fix it,” his junior sighs. “Look, she’s gonna keep projecting how upset you made her if you aren’t gonna do something about it. But there’s a high chance that she’ll forgive you if you’re just real with her.”
And last, but not least, step five. Acceptance. Lee Hyunjae has finally accepted that he’s not an emotionless robot incapable of producing feelings for someone. He takes Juyeon’s advice right then and there, deciding that this is something he has to do immediately. (He also knows how much you can drink at these things and he preferred that you were sober when he spoke to you.)
He thanks his friend and sets off to search for you in the sea of already drunk university students. He’s anxious. He’s never been the type to have serious discussions about anything, really. He assumes that it stems from never seeing that in his own parents. They loved each other, yeah, but they never really talked about difficult topics with each other. Or, in front of him they didn’t.
Hyunjae thinks he might throw up when he finds you in the other room. Cha Eunwoo is still glued to your side, but he’s hardly paying attention to you, talking to his friends. You look bored, like you were waiting for something— or someone— to save you. This was his opportunity.
Your eyes widen when you see him heading straight for you, swallowing thickly. There wasn’t any route of escape so you were stuck having to deal with him. In all honesty, the hurt was still very fresh for you, and you weren’t sure you could handle talking to him yet.
“Can we please talk? I need to tell you something,” he yells over the loud music.
“Why should I listen to what you have to say?” Your tone is shaky, wavering slightly, but you’re grateful that he can’t hear it with how voluminous this party is.
“Y/N,” he pleads almost, eyes communicating what you needed to hear. “This is important.”
You concede, sneaking from Eunwoo and following Hyunjae blindly. You could be getting whisked away to your demise, but the former hardly even notices, too engrossed in whatever he was saying to his friends. You’re a bit apprehensive when Hyunjae takes you into his bedroom, biting your cheek when the memories of what you’ve done in here come flooding back to you.
“Okay, I don’t know how to put this into a coherent thought,” he turns his back to you.
“Can we just get this over with? You don’t want me, remember? I don’t even know why I’m giving you the time of day—“
“Of course I want you,” he exclaims, spinning around and pinching the bridge of his nose. “God, are you blind? It’s so obvious that I’ve wanted you for so long, Y/N. I’m just stupid and I fucked everything up, because I was scared that things would change and I’m afraid of change. That’s the reason why I have commitment problems. I don’t want to commit myself to something just for everything to change in the blink of an eye.”
You shut up after that, your heart skipping in your chest. This was what you wanted. You wanted a messy confession. Something that told you it wasn’t all in your head. That you weren’t making things up. That he felt the same way you did.
Your lips collide in a rough, desperate manner. Hyunjae’s never had a way with words, so kissing you with every ounce of longing in his being and holding you like you’d disappear any second was his outlet. This was how he could show you his true feelings. Your heart rate transitions from your pulse point to your ears, amplifying with each suck of your bottom lip between his teeth
You’ve done this so many times before, but it will never be the same as this one. No one could ever make you feel the way Lee Hyunjae does. It might be crazy, but it only took a month for you to realize that there will never be another for you. The conversations that trickled into early hours of the morning following going at it like jackrabbits were perfect to you. They weren’t ideal, but they were enough.
The two of you walk backwards until he’s sitting on the edge of his bed, your knees on either side of his lap. You cup his jaw in your hands, grinding down on him every time your lips move together. Hyunjae’s fingers dig into your sides and push up the material of your dress. He’s moving fast, rushed like you might decide you don’t want this and walk out of his room.
You can’t really blame him, your pace disorganized with only one goal in mind. Neither of you could be bothered with the foreplay, too needy and craving the touch of one another as quickly as possible. You part from him to pull off your dress, eyes fluttering shut when he starts leaving a trail of kisses down your stomach. He doesn’t want to waste time commenting on the fact that you were braless underneath so he busies himself with pecking the tops of your tits. Your fingers card through his hair with an extended sigh, noticing how long it’s gotten since you first met.
Hyunjae pushes his pants down his legs as you yank his shirt over his head, reconnecting your lips. He uses his ring and middle fingers to shove aside your underwear, discarding his own shortly after. Your mouth nips and bites your favorite places on his neck, ensuring you mark the surface so everyone knows who he belongs to. You were the one who acquired the key to Lee Hyunjae’s heart.
Your teeth sink into his skin the moment he slips inside of you, both of you moaning when he slides right into your cunt like he was meant to be there. You whine when he bottoms out, your sensitive clit bumping into his pelvic bone. You’re so warm and inviting, Hyunjae feels like he’s falling under a spell. Just being inside of you feels like a form of hypnosis. If it was up to him, he’d stay here forever, content to sit with his cock stuffed in you without interruption. But you both yearn for more than that.
He tightens his grip on your hips, bucking upwards into you and watching with heavy eyes as a whine spills from your lips. You look so fucked out despite him doing absolutely nothing to you yet. He thrusts up again experimentally, grinning when your upper half knocks into his.
“Feel good, baby?” He coos into your ear, nipping at the lobe and the area surrounding.
You nod with a whimper when his cock brushes that sweet spot deep inside your pussy. “Mhm, feels so— fuck, Jae, want it harder.”
“Anything for my pretty girl,” he smiles into your skin.
He increases the speed that he fucks into you, pinning down your hips so you can’t move and all you can do is take it. It’s like you can feel him in your abdomen, his cock plunging in you so far. You’d think after a month of fucking practically every day, you’d be used to his size by now. However, that was just not attainable. You don’t think you could ever get used to how big he was, how thick he was.
The force that he drives into you with is unmatched, miles apart from what he’s given you before. It’s like he wants to burn the shape of himself inside you, so you never forget that he’s the one making you feel like this. Nobody but Hyunjae can fuck you this well.
He moves you further up the bed, flattening his feet on the mattress and laying down so he can press deeper, a new angle that has your vision going blank. You don’t think twice about the volume of your cries, letting him know how good he’s giving it to you. You’re encouraging him, wanting him to get cockier so he can keep fucking you into oblivion. Your fingers grasp at the sheets beside his head for support.
Hyunjae’s nails impress crescent shapes into your waist, his mouth returning to your tits so he can leave his own marks all over your chest. It’s when your clit rubs against his lower stomach again that you let go, your orgasm crashing into like a train. It winds you, ripping your breath from your throat and stealing your oxygen. He’s close behind, the feeling of your walls clenching around him in rapid intervals triggering his own.
He fills you up nicely, both of you releasing guttural groans at the sight of his cum dripping out of you. You’re too exhausted to get up, collapsing on top of him. He doesn’t mind, more than happy to stay buried inside of you even if you didn’t do anything.
“So…” You start after a bit of silence, drawing unrecognizable shapes on his chest. “You’ve wanted me for so long, huh?”
“Shut up,” he laughs, eyes closed while he recuperates from using all of his energy on you. “This is still new for me.”
“I know, Mr. Emotionally Constipated And I Don’t Date ‘Cause I’m Going To Be A Big Fancy Hotshot Lawyer,” you tease, pecking his lips and then his nose. “I must be extremely special to be the one who changed your mind.”
“You’ll be the death of me, you know that right?” He shakes his head, brushing some of your hair from your face. You smile down at him with an unfamiliar fondness in your eyes.
“Why else do you think we’ve gotten this far?”

“And look! Now Bingo Bunny has a hat to match his brown pants.”
“That’s nice, sweetheart-“
“Oh! I forgot his brown glasses too!” You ran back to your room to pick up yet another tiny accessory to show Lee. Ever since he got home an hour ago, you were running back and forth between his office and your room to show him your new treasures. Each toy had a story that reminded you of another toy which also had a story that connected to a totally different toy.
Lee sighed. He’d seen your entire toy collection by now. This little show-and-tell had started with the toys you bought by yourself today and devolved into a near encyclopedia of your entire collection.
Lee wanted to indulge your need for attention, but he needed to make one last phone call before he was officially done with work for today. Lee found he could never truly relax if he knew he had something to do or somewhere to be.
“I got the glasses! Look at Bingo, Daddy!” You held the bunny out and made him do a little dance.
“He’s lookin’ sharp, sugar.” He beckoned you over and leaned a little closer, then began to speak as if he were telling you a secret. You stopped buzzing for a moment to give Lee all of your focus, he knew just how to excite you and get your attention.
“Why don’t cha make a few more outfits for Bingo and do a fashion show for me later, yeah? Spend a long time on ‘em now. Make sure they’re perfect.”
“Okay, Daddy!” You left your daddy’s office once again, unaware that he was just trying to distract you.
Lee took advantage of this moment to swiftly lock his door and make the phone call. The sooner he could get this over with, the sooner he could be a proper daddy to you.
𓏲 ࣪₊♡
What was supposed to be a ten minute call ended up getting to forty minutes. Lee and Deputy O’Connolly were trying to review the security plan for the county fair, but they kept running into issues. Lee was nearing the end of his rope.
“What kinda idiot put Burke and Smith on entrance security? Those two ain’t nothin’ but trouble. Put ‘em together and add the pretty girls entering the fair into the mix and the line’ll grow ‘till it’s near half a mile!”
“I tell ya, this is the last time I trust anyone else to do shift assignments,” Lee groaned.
The two men continued talking as they made edits to their respective paper copies of the security plan. Then, Lee heard your little hand trying to wiggle open his office door.
“Hold on a second.” Lee covered the receiver and shouted to you, “I’m a bit busy right now!”
You shouted a response, but your voice didn’t project as well as Lee’s and it was muffled by the door.
“I’ll be out later, bunny! Just give me ten more minutes!” Lee thought that was the end of it, but you continued shaking the doorknob and started trying to push the door in.
“For the love of- I’ll call ya back later, Deputy.” Lee hung up the phone and stomped to the door, opening it with a huff.
You were still leaning on the door, but you managed to find your footing after the wood abruptly slipped away from you.
“Oh! Daddy, hi!”
“What is it? Is there a fire?”
“I got Bingo all dressed up! Come look!” You tried pulling Lee’s hand so he’d follow you, but he stayed rooted in his spot.
“Not now, bunny. Daddy’s on a very important phone call.”
“But you said-“
“Well now I’m sayin’ ‘not now’, aren’t I? You know the rules. Ya can’t interrupt Daddy at work unless it’s an emergency and ya sure as hell can’t go around trying to break down every door that stands in your way!”
“I just wanted to show you my Bingo,” you said quietly.
“And I’ll look at him later, but right now I’ve gotta explain to Deputy O’Connolly why I hung up on him ‘cause you’re too much of a damn airhead to know what a locked door means!”
You froze in front of Lee, too stunned to react.
He closed his eyes and ran a hand over his face. “Shit. Baby, I-“
Before Lee could continue, a whimper made its way out of your mouth, breaking you out of your trance and allowing you to run away.
Your daddy watched as you sped into your room and shut the door. He felt pathetic for taking his anger out on his baby. The sheriff wasn’t used to the feeling of white-hot anger and shame rolled into one. These weren’t the actions of the man he prided himself on being.
Lee took a few deep breaths before trying to open your door. You’d taken a page out of his book and locked it this time. You didn’t usually do this. Even when you were upset, you’d leave it unlocked, not even thinking to keep Lee out.
“Bunny, please open the door. Daddy wants to say somethin’ to ya.” Lee leaned his head on the door.
“Daddy gonna say somefin mean ‘gain!” you sobbed.
“No I’m not, I wanna apologize to ya.” Lee sighed. “I’m gonna get the key to your door okay? I need you to hear this.”
“No! No! Don’t wanna hear anything! Just leave me alone!”
Lee’s heart broke at the realization that he had lost your trust. He was your daddy. He was supposed to love you unconditionally and protect you from people who said mean things: people like him.
A tear slid down Lee’s cheek. “Baby, I’m sorry,” he said, his voice cracking slightly. “Daddy’s so fuckin’ sorry he said those mean things to ya. You’re not an airhead. You’re my smart, sweet, beautiful baby. I don’t deserve a perfect little thing like ya.”
Lee leaned against the wall. He was willing to wait as long as it took for you to let him in. To his surprise, not a minute later were you bursting through the door and wrapping your arms around him.
“Hey there, bunny. There’s my sweet baby,” Lee cooed.
You were still crying as you clung onto him. Lee continued soothing you with his words and touch.
“I know, I know.”
“Daddy’s so sorry, baby.”
When the last sobs left your body, Lee apologized again. It wasn’t perfect. Lee was never great with words. But it was soft and real. A gentle whisper in your ear while he hugged you so tight that you felt his tummy rumble with each passing syllable.
“I forgive you, Daddy.”
“You don’t have to, bunny. Daddy was awful to ya. Give me some time to make things right.”
You shook your head against his chest. “I forgive you,” you repeated, stubbornly.
Lee was at a loss for words. How could he ever repay your love? He settled for kissing your forehead and lingering for a moment. He thought about how lucky he was to have you and, for the first time in a while, Lee prayed. He prayed to someone, anyone, that he’d be able to make this up to you.

Check-In
Gai's Birthday Bingo 2023
Prompt: Mask
Words: 3,760
Character: Maito Gai, Yamato, Hatake Kakashi
Notes: Post- Chunin Exams
“A month?” Tenzo just about choked on his tea when he heard the timeline his Senpai had given him for Sasuke’s training. He’d known that Kakashi had plans to focus on his student’s training in preparation for his next chunin exam fight, but to be told that he’d be out of contact for a month seemed a little extreme. In all of the years they’d known each other he’d never known Kakashi to take even a day away from training, but now here he was telling him that he’d be taking an entire month. “What if there’s a mission? Or an attack?”
“I’ll be just outside the village,” Kakashi dismissed his questions with swift answers while stirring the minuscule remains of his tea. “If anyone needs to contact me they’ll be able to. Whether I answer or not will be determined by how important I think the issue is.”
“But-”
“There are no buts,” his Senpai continued over him. “Sasuke’s being pitted against that Gaara kid from Suna. Not only did that kid break Itachi’s record for finishing the forest of death, but he just about killed Lee in their battle. If Gai hadn’t stepped in…” his words drifted off, but the weight of what he refused to say still lingered over them.
If Gai hadn’t stepped in, Lee would have died.
Tenzo hadn’t been there to see the fights himself, but he’d heard all about them from Asuma when they met up for drinks shortly after. Every detail had been spilled over Sake, from Asuma’s disappointment over Choji and Ino’s loss’ to his surprise at Naruto’s win.
The fight that he’d talked about, though, was Rock Lee’s. Not a single detail had been spared and by the end of the night, Tenzo could feel the concern that radiated off of Asuma. He’d even expressed some fear about Shikamaru’s upcoming fight against the Suna girl, Temari, but it was nothing compared to his concern about his student facing off against Gaara.
That was the fear of a sensei who didn’t have his student going up against Gaara, though. For his Senpai, the reality was very different. Not only was Sasuke set up to face Gaara in his next match, but according to Kakashi, he was woefully unprepared.
“I have to make sure he does alright,” Kakashi whispered, his eyes focused on the swirling tea in his cup. “I put them into this exam. I need to help them survive, no matter what. Even if it means I ignore missions for a little while.”
Tenzo understood his Senpai’s concerns. Every shinobi in Konoha faced the chunin exams, but it seemed that the risks in these exams were far more than when Kakashi had anticipated. Not only was there the threat that the Gaara kid posed but there was also Orochimaru.
A sannin seeking to steal Sasuke, one of Kakashi’s precious students, and use for their own gain.
The world was stacking the odds against Kakashi and all he could do was try his best to protect his students.
“What about the others?” Tenzo asked, his mind wandering to the other two students Kakashi had taken on. Whenever he spoke of them Kakashi seemed to have nothing but praise. Although he’d been forced into the job, it seemed to Tenzo that he’d taken to it quite well.
His students were his pride and joy and he made sure to remind Tenzo of that fact every time they saw each other.
“Naruto needs to work on his chakra control,” Kakashi answered with ease. “I’ve spoken to Ebisu about training him while I’m helping Sasuke. If he can improve in that area I’m sure he’ll do well in his next match. He is Konoha’s number one unpredictable ninja, after all. No one expected him to make it this far, but here he is.”
Tenzo couldn’t help but laugh at the terrible nickname his Senpai had given Naruto. “Isn’t he going against one of Gai-san’s students? Hyuga Neji, correct?” Kakashi nodded. “I’ve heard a bit about him. Seems like he could pose a bit of a problem to Naruto.”
“He can,” Kakashi confirmed. “But there’s not much I can do for Naruto until he improves his chakra control, and Ebisu’s a better teacher in that regard than I am. Besides, as dangerous as Neji is he’s not going to kill Naruto.”
“Are you sure about that?” Another story he’d heard from Asuma was about Neji’s fight against Hyuga Hinata, and that was a story that said the exact opposite of what his Senpai was telling him.
“Neji is hard, but not that bad,” Kakashi confirmed. “He’s also Gai’s student. I trust that if things get out of hand, Gai will step in if I’m not there too.”
“True,” There was no one who knew Kakashi’s struggles better than Gai. Even Tenzo didn’t know the true extent of what his Senpai had suffered in his life, but he had learned enough over the years to know that he’d do everything in his power to protect Kakashi from more pain. There was no doubt in his mind that Gai felt the same way. “So Naruto will be trained by Ebisu and Sakura?”
“A month without training won’t kill her,” Kakashi sighed. “She’ll have to take care of her training for the time, but I’ll make it up to them all when the exams are done and everything has settled. Once I can breathe then I’ll kick into gear.”
Tenzo cringed at the saying. During his time in team Ro with Kakashi he’d come to understand that ‘Kick into gear’ really meant ‘drive them into the ground until they can’t move, and then do it again’.
Sakura was going to need the month-long break to prepare for what was coming her way.
“So a month,” he sighed, circling back to the beginning of the conversation. “That’s going to be a pretty boring month for me. Though, I guess I can focus a bit more on missions while you’re occupied.”
“Actually,” straightening up, Kakashi locked eyes with Tenzo. “I have a request.”
Gai’s apartment was easy to locate. Not only did Tenzo have the apartment number that his Senpai had written down on a small piece of paper for him, three-zero-five written in giant blocky letters so that he wouldn’t misread any of the numbers, but there was also a sign hanging on the front of the door that announced who was living there with pride.
A simple wooden sign that Tenzo recalled making himself just a few years ago for Gai’s birthday. He hadn’t known what to get for the overly energetic Jonin until his Senpai had shown him a picture of his tortoise summon that he’d snuck during one of his outings as ‘Sukea’. Now here it was, staring back at Tenzo after a year. Telling him exactly what he needed to know.
He was in the right place.
Now all he had to do was knock.
“Come on,” he lifted his right hand and took a deep breath, but nothing happened. His hand refused to move. “You can do it, Tenzo. It’s just a quick check-up. Poke your head in, make sure he’s alive and functioning, and go. That’s all. It’s easy.”
He took another deep, slow breath, but still nothing happened.
His hand just hovered there in front of the door, neither lowering nor reaching out to knock. Stuck in a limbo of inactivity that Tenzo couldn’t seem to force it out of.
“Just one knock,” he whispered, cringing when his hand refused to move. “Come on. He’s not going to hurt you.”
Gai was a good man. Stranger and perhaps a little too much for Tenzo to handle most days, but a good man. Short of harming Kakashi, which he would never think of doing, or one of his students, there was nothing Tenzo could think of that he could do to upset Gai.
Even if there was, Checking up on him certainly wasn’t on the list.
“Just go,” he insisted. “One knock and-”
Before he could finish that train of thought the door swung open and he found himself face to face with Maito Gai.
Smiley, energetic, always pleasant Maito Gai.
Except, none of those descriptors seemed to fit the man that he was staring at today. Not because Gai wasn’t trying to portray himself as the exact same person he always with, with a smile that spread across his entire face, but because that smile didn’t match at all with the tired, defeated look in his eyes.
“You look…”
“Great?” Gai cheered, though his voice sounded a little flatter than usual. “Wonderful? Ready to jump out and greet the day with the full power of my youth?”
Tenzo shook his head. “Awful.”
As soon as the word left his mouth the smile dropped off of Gai’s face and his shoulders slumped. “You’re learning from Kakashi, aren’t you?” he sighed, all of his usual energy missing from his voice. “
“I am a trained Anbu operative,” Tenzo argued, just a little insulted by the implication that he would need his Senpai to tell him what to look out for when he approached Gai. His Senpai had, of course, given him a few hints of what to keep an eye out for, but that didn’t matter. He was trained to read people’s emotions and body language. To look deeper and see all of the subtle signals that they were trying to hide from him.
“Ah,” waving off his protests, Gai leaned forward and peered down the hallway. “He’s not with you, is he?”
Tenzo could only sigh. “He’s out training Sasuke for his next match,” he assured the green-clad dork that his Senpai called ‘rival’. “That’s why I’m here.”
“To check up on me?” jutting his bottom lip out, Gai huffed. “I’m fine. I don’t need someone to pop in and make sure everything is alright. I’m not-”
He stopped himself, but Tenzo knew exactly what he wanted to say.
I’m not Kakashi.
A low blow, but a rather deserved one. In the twenty years that he’d known his Senpai one undeniable fact that Tenzo had learned was that his Senpai didn’t handle loss or disaster well. He would always put on a front, masking his emotions behind an aloof attitude, but deep down he was spiraling.
Tenzo didn’t think Gai would have the same reaction. His experiences with pain, as far as Tenzo knew, were different than Kakashi’s and his personality was almost the complete opposite.
That didn’t stop him from worrying, though. Everyone had a breaking point and although he hadn’t met any of Gai’s students, he’d heard enough about them to know just how much Gai cared about Lee.
If there was someone out there in the world whose death would cause Gai to crumble, it was either Kakashi or Lee. Kakashi because of their long-standing friendship and rivalry, and Lee because of how much Gai had come to care about him in such a short amount of time.
Tenzo wasn’t keen to find out which one it was anytime soon. The energy that Gai brought to the village was strange but comforting. The world needed more of the bright, youthful energy and less destroyed, irreparable spirits.
“I see,” shoving those thoughts to the side for the moment, he leaned to the right just enough to get a view into the room behind Gai. The layout was the same as every other Jonin apartment in the building but with a few weights laying out on the floor and a workout mat half haphazardly thrown into the corner beside Gai’s desk. On the desk, there was a bit more of a mess, with dishes piling up on the back near the wall and three books of various sizes spread open along the desk. “And what is it you’re reading about?”
“Uh, well,” glancing back over his shoulder, Gai cringed. “I was just looking up some information. It’s important to keep up to date with our knowledge.”
There it was again. That wide, toothy grin that Gai always wore on his face.
A grin that Tenzo had once viewed with caution, but which he’d come to enjoy over the years.
“Stop it.”
“Stop what?” Gai blinked, the smile dropping away for just a split second, only to return as soon as Gai realized it was gone. “Stop reading?”
“Smiling.” Tenzo huffed, hating the words that were coming out of his mouth. As much as he liked to complain about Gai’s seemingly endless amounts of energy, he had genuinely come to love his smile.
It was one of the brightest, most genuine smiles he had ever seen in his life, and whenever Gai turned it toward him he felt a strange warmth spreading in his chest. Kakashi had laughed at him the first time he talked about it and told him that everyone felt that way about Gai’s smile, but he hadn’t believed him.
Now, though, that warmth was missing. He couldn’t look at Gai’s smile and feel happy to see it because deep down he knew it was a lie. A mask that Gai was using to hide away the pain he was experiencing.
“I don’t-”
Deciding to make a daring move, Tenzo pushed past Gai into his apartment and headed straight for the desk. His goal was the pile of dishes that sat at the back of the desk, but as he reached out for them he couldn’t help but gaze down at the books.
Medical books, all turned to pages with detailed pictures of leg muscles or leg bones.
Kakashi had been right to ask him to check in on Gai.
“You’re worried,” he noted, focusing his attention back on the dishes and slowly starting to move them from the desk into a small space between his left arm and chest.. “You’re overthinking Lee’s condition and trying to make up for your lack of knowledge on the subject by studying as much as you can.”
“What are you, an interrogator?” Gai huffed.
“No,’ That line of work had been a part of Tenzo’s job once, a long time ago, but it was rare for him to take on that role in Anbu. “I’m a friend,” placing the last dish on the pile that now teetered in his arm, he maneuvered his right arm around it for a bit more support and turned toward the kitchen. “A friend who has specifically been sent by another friend to check in on you.”
“Always straight to the point,” Gai sighed as he followed Tenzo toward the kitchen, dragging his feet along the floor. “And what are you doing with my dishes?”
“Cleaning them, obviously,” coming to a stop in front of the sink, he leaned down and carefully placed the dishes down so they didn’t topple over. The last thing he wanted to do today was go shopping for a new set of dishes after destroying all of the ones Gai had. “Since you’re too focused on improving your knowledge pool someone has to make sure you’re going to be eating off of clean plates.”
“I can-” turning his head, he glared straight at Gai. “N-never mind.”
“That’s what I thought,” with that argument sufficiently killed he focused back on the daunting task he’d taken on. “Well, I’m doing the dishes maybe you can make some tea?”
“Tea?”
“Yes,” Tezno confirmed. “You do still remember what tea is, right?”
Gai sputtered, tripping over his words a few times before finally taking a deep breath. “Green tea?” His voice came out strained, but the question was quickly followed by the sound of feet shuffling and cupboards being pulled open.
“Green tea is fine,” Tenzo confirmed. Turning on the tap he watched as water flowed into the sink. The pile he’d collected was taller than anything he’d ever tackled before, but he was certain that it was a task he could finish in under ten minutes. Just enough time for Gai to make them some tea. Once the dishes were clean and the two of them were seated with their drink, then he would start asking the questions that were already swirling around in his mind.
How long has it been since you went outside?
When was the last time you got yourself some dango?
How is he doing?
Those were questions that would have to wait till later, though. Things he would ask when the two of them were sitting face to face with their hands wrapped around a warm cup of tea.
Until then, they would continue swirling around in his mind demanding an answer to the nagging concerns that came with each one of them.
“You don’t have to worry, you know,” Gai spoke as he stepped up to Tenzo’s side and held out his kettle to him. Taking the kettle, Tenzo popped it open and placed it under the tap. Once it was about halfway full he pulled it back and returned it to Gai. “I’m fine.”
“Fine,” he couldn’t help but laugh. Every moment he’d heard Kakashi say that exact line to him came rushing back to him. Bombarding him with memories of exhausted, haunted eyes staring through him as if he wasn’t even there. “Your student is in the hospital.”
“I know that.” Snatching the kettle back, Gai turned away with a huff. Instead of making his way toward the stove, though, he just stood there. His back facing Tenzo and his kettle clutched in his hand. “I know that…”
At that moment, Tenzo regretted agreeing to his Senpai’s request.
If he’d been smart he would have insisted Kakashi come instead. He would have pressured his Senpai to put off Sasuke’s training for just a few hours to check in on his friend. It was Kakashi, not Tenzo, who knew how best to support Gai.
He hadn’t, though.
Instead, he’d promised to take care of it. Assured his Senpai that he would make sure Gai was taken care of when he couldn’t be there for him. Now he was stuck with a pile of dishes higher than he’d ever seen, with no idea what to say next.
Well, there was one thing he could say. Something that he was certain he would never dare to utter in front of anyone else, even under threat of torture, but which seemed fitting in this moment.
“If it was Kakashi-Senpai, I’d be a mess.”
Gai spun round, an expression of utter horror on his face as he stared at Tenzo. “What?”
Grabbing the first dish from the pile he took a deep breath and started cleaning. “If it was Kakashi-Senpai in the hospital,” he continued. “I would be a mess. Or even Yugao, or you.”
It was difficult for him to admit, but all of his years of being trained to cut himself off from others and deny himself any emotional bonds had failed. Part of it was because of his Senpai’s insistence on friendship, which had rubbed off on him over the years, but there was also a piece of him that knew he never would have been able to succeed.
His friends were important to him. No matter how much he wanted to cut himself off from them, he couldn’t. It’s exactly the weakness that Kakashi had exploited when he found out about Tenzo’s mission to kill him, and what had led to him going against Danzo’s orders for the first time in his life.
If any of his friends were stuck in the hospital with an injury that might never be healed, he would throw himself into his work much like Kakashi always did. There wouldn’t be a pile of dishes growing on his desk or open medical textbooks, but his mental health would take a turn for the worst.
And if or when that happened, he knew two things for certain.
Kakashi would show up at his door dragging him outside for some fresh air insisting that he can’t give up, and Gai would be right behind him with that brilliant smile and promises of dango and spars to cheer him up.
“All I’m saying is…” finishing with the first bowl he placed it under the tap to wash away the leftover soap and placed it into the small drying rack beside the sink. “I get it. You don’t have to pretend to be alright for me, Gai.”
For a second the two of them just stood there. Gai holding onto his kettle full of water, and Tenzo washing dishes. The only sound that echoed in the small apartment was running water and the light clink of dishes as Tenzo added them to the drying rack.
Then, without any warning, Gai set the kettle down on the counter, threw his arms around Tenzo’s shoulders, and pulled him into a bone-crushing hug.
“Gai-” Tenzo croaked out as his bones cried out in pain. Immediately the Jonin loosened his hold, though he still kept Tenzo pinned against his body as he buried his face into his right shoulder.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into Tenzo’s shirt. “No apologies,” placing his hand on Gai’s arm, he ignored the water dripping from his fingers. There wasn’t much for him to say at the moment. Comforting other people wasn’t something he was good at, and he wasn’t about to pretend to be.
Comfort wasn’t what Gai needed, though. Kind words wouldn’t wash away the reality of the situation his student was in. They wouldn’t rid him of the memories of Lee’s battle, or the sight of his student laying in a hospital bed lucky that he had survived but with little hope for a continued life as a shinobi.
Kind words would do nothing for Gai during this time, so Tenzo didn’t bother to try and come up with any. Instead, he simply stood there and let Gai hide his face in his shoulder while he hugged him.
‘Just be there for him,’ Kakashi had told him when he’d asked why he wanted him to go check in on his best friend. ‘He needs someone right now. Usually, I would go, but I only have a month to prepare Sasuke for this next fight. So go in my place, please.’
So, that’s what Tenzo resolved to do.
Be there for Gai.
Ask him questions, check in on his well-being, and just listen.
There was nothing he could say to make the situation better, but if Kakashi was right he wouldn’t need to. All Gai needed was company, and that was something Tenzo could provide in spades.

TC!dad!JK
“n-no, daddy. please don’t l-leave me” ae-cha begs as she squeezes her father and cries into his chest. “i-i don-don’t wanna lose y-you” she cries as jungkook caresses her long dark tresses. “i’ll never lie again, daddy. i-i-i’ll be a good girl. i promise. i promise”
if she told her father that jinseoul snuck nami in, maybe her brother would be alive. she knows her mother said to not feel guilty but there are moments where ae-cha felt if she just told her father the truth then jinseoul would have been alive.
“i’m so sorry i lied to you and mommy. if i would’ve just told you the truth, n-none of this would’ve h-happened” she hyperventilates but eventually ae-cha does calm down upon hearing her father’s sweet words. she feels like a baby all over again and her father’s voice is enough to soothe her fast pacing heart and just allow him to hold her.
when ae-cha does calm down, it’s then that jungkook asks about a hideout jinseoul and nami would sneak off to. ae-cha knows not to give the hiding spot up but there’s no use in lying anymore, not when there are bigger things at stake. like the good girl she is, ae-cha confesses and admits to a hideout.
“there’s an abandoned cabin in hanyang. nami had found it and jinseoul would sneak out to go there all of the time to meet with her”
bingo.
nami is definitely hiding in that cabin and probably thinks jungkook doesn’t know about it. ae-cha feels bad for lying about the hideout this entire time and the guilt is written all over her face.
if she had just told the truth then…
“i’m really sorry, daddy” ae-cha says with her head hung low. “he would’ve been alive if told you the truth and i’m sorry that i didn’t”
~🫧
Jungkook presses a little kiss on Ae-Cha’s forehead before he hugs her one more time, muttering a thank you under his breath, now, he feels like he’s been motivated all over again.
He’s going to find that girl and kill her for once and all. She deserves to die for what she did to jinseoul, she took his life away when he was innocent. He didn’t deserve to die. Jungkook walks away with a heavy heart but not before asking his daughter to take care of you because he knows that you are broken right now she just has to keep you distracted so you don’t ask about him and get worried.
He has given you a lot of pain in your life together and he doesn’t want to do that to you anymore. Maybe he might even die tonight, but not before he kills that bitch.
Jungkook quickly signals his men, and after telling them about the hide out, they’re all on their way to the forest where the cabin is located, hanyang is a very old forest, its dark filled with old trees and wild animals.
He’s so disappointed that someone like Nami found his son and manipulated him, however she wanted. His son was innocent.. jungkook wipes a tear from his eyes as he sat, riding on his horse to that place, the sounds of multiple horses and his men echoing throughout the journey, but he’s so focused.
Why would she kill him? Jungkook doesn’t have more time to think because he’s been in his head for the last hour and soon jisung, who is accompanying his king in this journey, calls out to tell him that they have reached their destination.
They’re right in hanyang and as one of the soldiers gets off from his horse to light up a lantern, even though it’s still day hanyang forest is very dark, due to it, having long old trees covering it from the sky and sunlight.
“Okay.. surround around the cabin and me along with three men will go inside…” jungkook gets off from his horse with a thud, he fixes his clothing before he grabs his sword.
And he’s running inside impatiently, gritting his teeth as him and his men storm in the small cabin, it is so small yet he is looking all over the place, and he doesn’t say anything, but he signals his men to stay silent because soon he can hear some rumbling.
“Shhh..” jungkook says, focusing his gaze on the small room right in front of him, and soon he kicks it open after thinking for a moment.
“HAHAHAHA!!! YOU BITCH I FOUND YOU.” Jungkook laughs like a maniac when he spots the girl sitting on the floor, she seems like she’s praying, but jungkook doesn’t give a fuck.
His voice booms across the small room, and before she can even look back, his two men grab the girl. “ YOU KILLED MY SON.- WHY?! HE LOVED YOU AND YOU CLAIMED TO LOVE HIM! THEN WHY??!” Jungkook cries out, full of agony.
Why would she kill him? “ANSWER ME OR YOU DIE RIGHT HERE- well you are going to die nonetheless but not before I get my answer.” Jungkook sighs, screaming at her.
“I’ll torture you so slowly and painfully you’ll beg me to kill you.” Jungkook swears before he slaps Nami hard, with the exact same hand he slapped jinseoul with.

Pairing: Bucky Barnes/Reader Characters: Bucky Barnes, F.R.I.D.A.Y., Cecilia Reyes Additional tags: mostly canon compliant (Infinity War and Endgame didn’t happen, Stark Tower still exists), possible future smut (who knows, not me), she/her pronouns, more tags/characters to be added with future chapters, hero Bucky Barnes, canon typical violence, warzone/disaster zone setting, Alpine the cat, other Marvel characters mentioned but not central to the plot Warnings: possible triggers for anxiety, PTSD, grief
Note: Hi! I am overwhelmingly grateful to everyone who has read this story, and heard my call for inspiration. Because of you, this chapter exists, and I have a better idea of where to take this story. Thank you all so, so much. Honestly. I hope you love this.
So Far Away Chapter 4/?
Waking up in such a soft and safe environment took a hot minute. The danger was so far away from you and comfort was so close. Slowly though, your eyes opened and you tried to sit up. Sloooow mooootion. But then, pain.
You'd apparently slept off the memory of your injured hand, leaning straight onto it. It hurt so badly that you felt dizzy, then quickly sick to your stomach.
Within seconds of hearing you cry out, Bucky was at your side. "Alright, come on, darl'. Knew we should've gone straight to the doc when we got 'ere," he said, the latter statement directed at himself.
Trying to shuffle to the edge of the huge bed was exhausting. Tears began to stream down your face, running over the flushing red skin. You were embarrassed, somehow feeling it through the intense pain.
"Can you stand?"
You could, albeit shaky and holding your arm close to your chest, terrified something would hit it.
Bucky pressed a hand to your lower back and ushered you gently from the suite.
In the elevator, he called to F.R.I.D.A.Y. "Tell me someone's up in med?"
"Dr Cho is in D.C. but has left Medical to Dr Reyes,"
"Okay. Tell her we're on our way," he asked.
"Already done,"
"Thanks, F.R.I.D.A.Y."
Bucky turned to you, watched you struggle to keep your eyes open. He frowned, then cupped your face in his hands. The vibranium was cool.
"You're gonna be okay, Y/N. I know it hurts, but trust me - I've seen worse."
He wasn't being dismissive, just trying to pull you from the pain for a second or two. It worked; you offered him a weak smile. Bucky leaned in and kissed the tip of your nose. You could smell toothpaste. He must have been in the middle of getting ready for the day when you woke up.
'Medical' was a whole floor. Research happened in the east wing, and the trauma centre existed in the west.
Dr Cecilia Reyes was ready, waiting for your arrival. "Barnes," she greeted. "You found her then,"
"Word travels fast, huh?"
"Oh, you know… Winter Soldier on a mission to find a girl. That kinda thing gets people talking," she replied with a smirk.
Bucky liked Cecilia. She was tough, raised in the Bronx. He liked that despite her power, she opted for a relatively normal life. She was good people.
"Well, welcome," she said to you, leading you to a private room. "I'm Dr Reyes. Heard you've banged up your hand pretty bad?"
"Yeah," you managed to squeak out.
"Scale of one to ten, how bad's the pain?"
Ten. Definitely. "Uh… Eight," you lied.
Cecilia snorted. "So at least a nine then? Don't need to be tough for me," she told you, smiling kindly. She nodded for Bucky to help you up onto the bed in the room.
"I was okay last night," you said to her.
"Probably still in a bit of shock. Had a rough couple of days. Body's smart. Guess it waited to tell you it needed help," she replied.
"Should've brought you here last night," Bucky said.
"Nah, Barnes. Sleep is the great healer. She's here now. Let's see what we've got."
An x-ray, backlit and brutal, showed a broken ring finger, broken thumb, and three breaks to your hand. Cecilia told you that all things considered, you were lucky; the breaks hadn't split skin, muscle, or tendon. She set a cast on your wrist, hand, and thumb, and stabilised your ring finger by splinting it to your pinky.
"If you want, we can just cut it off and you can get one of what he's got," she joked during the process.
"Hey! Too soon," Bucky said, feigning offence.
She rolled her eyes at him dramatically. "What, like 80 years or something?"
Bucky laughed, then smiled over at you. "It's all right, darlin'," he said, noticing your expression. "If I can't joke about it, what's it good for, you know?"
"In her case, it's good for some top tier pain meds. Here - take two as needed. No more than eight a day. With food is better. And for reference, a can of Pringles does not count as a meal,"
"That felt personal," Bucky said, eyes narrowing at Cecilia.
"Your diet is trash," she told him, matter of fact.
"Firstly, once you pop you can't stop. Even I know that. Secondly, how do you know about my diet, doll?"
"Doll me again, Barnes, and I'll-"
"What?" he interrupted. "Force field me to death?"
"Joke all ya want, but it can be done."
Bucky laughed again, fondly shaking his head at her. Cecilia held back a full grin.
"Force field?" you asked, sitting quietly, letting the fentanyl you'd been given before the x-ray seep into your body.
"I'll tell ya later," Bucky said, reaching out to fold stray hair behind your ear.
"Alright, need anything else? You're not-" Cecilia started.
"Nah, nah, I'm good. Thanks, Doc. We''ll get out cha' way."
They hugged like they meant it, and she left the room.
Bucky turned to you. "I'd decorate that thing for ya, but Steve's the artist," he said, nodding at your cast.
"S'okay," you whispered in reply.
"Fentanyl working then?"
Eyes closed, grinning, you nodded slowly. Bucky snorted.
"Good. Guess we'll get some food in you then,"
"Pringles?" you asked hopefully as Bucky held your hips, helping you slide off the bed.
"Whatever you want, darlin'."
People pretended not to watch you and Bucky leave the trauma centre. It's kinda what people did in Stark Tower - pretend not to see and know what they saw and knew.
"He's got a girlfriend" someone whispered.
"No, didn’t he, like, go full hero and save her or something?"
"Think we got more to worry about than who and what Bucky Barnes is doing," Cecilia said loudly to the room. She smiled though. Good for him, she thought to herself.
…
Before you really knew what was happening, Bucky was handing you an iPad.
"Sit. Ubereats us something," he said.
You were on the couch, back in Bucky's suite. Looking around, you felt that awe again - floor to ceiling windows with New York views will do that. There was a light, knitted blanket over you. It seemed out of place in the modern apartment setting.
For a good fifteen minutes since returning from the medical suite, you'd just been sitting there. Bucky had waited until you seemed more… coherent, to ask you to pick food.
"You know Ubereats?" you asked, smiling, proud of yourself.
Bucky snorted. "I know I'm old, but I'm not playing-bingo-with-senior-citizens old."
You laughed and for a second, forgot about everything.
"That being said," he added, "I did live through The Depression, and I do have a super soldier metabolism… So, you know, don't skimp on the food."
You wondered what his dinner of choice normally would be. Order history! It looked like Bucky was working his way through every takeout option in N.Y. Nothing repeated.
"Burrrrrrito?" you asked.
"Yeah, darl'. Whatever you want,"
"I waaaaant… freeeesh ava ca doo,"
"That the drugs talking?"
Mental note to self: show Bucky Barnes memes.
After the order was placed, you put the iPad on the coffee table in front of you. Bucky picked it up, shot you a grin, and disappeared for a while. You did consider following him - he felt like safety. But, you were slowly coming out of the fog of fentanyl and knew tagging along like a lost puppy probably would make you feel awkward more than anything.
Bucky's voice floated through… superhero stuff, you assumed. Busying yourself with finding the remote, then being startled by F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s offer of help ("Can I help you find something to watch?"), you managed to fill the time until Bucky returned without having to really think too much. There was a feeling sitting in the back of your mind and the bottom of your stomach that you wanted to keep ignoring for as long as possible. It seemed… bad. And you weren't ready for bad.
"Alright," Bucky said, coming to stand in front of you. "How we doing?"
You smiled, nodded. His expression shifted. Sceptical.
"Yeah? You sure?"
"Ah-huh," you confirmed.
"I'm just gonna run down and grab the food. Won't be a second."
The door clicked shut behind him, leaving you with only the television to keep you company. You tried to pay attention, focus on the show. But the volume was too loud, even on the lowest setting. It was agitating, stressful even. Switching it off, you were enveloped in silence.
Calm down, you told yourself. And yet, a heartbeat was pounding in your ears. Fuck, fuck, fuck. You could hear your own organs now?!
Suddenly, you found yourself at the window, looking down at the city. How can everyone… You were thinking too fast, spiralling. But how could you think of anything else? How could everyone down there just keep going? D.C. was still burning. People had died.
People.
Your people.
Everything - your head, the room, your world - began to spin.
Where's… Where's… Where the hell was a phone?
"Y/N," F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s voice alarmed you, coming out of nowhere, but not enough to make you jump. "I'm detecting an elevated heart rate. Can I help you with anything?"
"I… ah… You're just a machine," you muttered to yourself mostly. "Wait! No! Where's the phone?! I need a phone… I need to call…"
Call who? Who would you call first? What would you do if…
You didn't hear F.R.I.D.A.Y. tell you where to find a phone, or ask again if you were okay. You didn't hear her tell you Bucky was on his way up. As soon as he walked in, he knew what was happening.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y., tell me next time," he said while putting the takeout on the suite's small round dining table. "Y/N," he called. He stood in your field of vision, but not too close. "Y/N? Can you hear me?"
"I'm… I need a phone," you said, voice frantic, pupils blown. "There's people…"
"We can do that. Phone's right here," Bucky told you, pulling his cell from his pocket and holding it out to you. When you didn't take it, he slid it back in and held a hand out to you instead. "Y/N, take my hand. We're gonna sit down. Don't want you to fall and break any more bones,"
"How many days has it been?" you asked, your words pushed together, the letters overlapping.
"I'm gonna come closer, okay? Coming to you." Bucky moved. When he could see it wasn't making it worse, he held on your good wrist, his other hand on your waist, and walked you to the couch. You followed along, mindlessly compliant. "It's been five days. Not everyone will be on the lists yet, but we'll call, yeah? Or, we can get F.R.I.D.A.Y. to do it for us."
You were sort of nodding, but were still finding it hard to focus. Bucky waited another few moments, watching and assessing, before deciding he needed to intervene further.
He put his left hand on your face, cupping the cool metal to your skin. Gently but firmly, he turned you to face him.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" he asked, raising his right hand.
"What?"
He repeated the question.
"Three," you answered, dismissive and maybe even a little annoyed.
"Good. Now?"
"Five. What are you doing?"
"Now?"
"Two! What are you doing?!"
"Distracting you," Bucky said. "Making your mind work on a task that isn't just panicking,"
"I'm not panicking," you told him.
"Not now, 'cause it worked. You're still not breathing properly though,"
"I'm fine,"
"F.R.I.D.A.Y.?" Bucky called.
She spoke, "Your heart rate is still elevated, Y/N, and-"
"Okay, I get it," you stopped her.
"Just take a couple breaths with me. Don't need 'em to be deep. Just hold them for a couple seconds."
As he called it, you took a breath in, two, three, out, two, three. You managed to do it twice before shaking your head and wriggling in your spot.
"I'm not- I just-" and you were off again, rambling about people, phones, and things you needed to do.
You went to stand, but Bucky grabbed you around the middle, pulling you down. Your back was to him, pressed to his chest, while his arms were wrapped around you. He would have let go if you fought him or cried out. But, you were limp and quiet almost immediately.
As you clung to his arms, he rested his head on your shoulder and made soft hushing sounds. Bucky waited patiently until your breathing regulated. You had closed your eyes and let your entire weight rest on him.
"I know how you feel. You're exhausted. Makes everything feel… bigger. But I promise you, it's gonna be okay," he told you, voice calm. Calming.
"You can't promise that," you replied, voice weak.
"I reckon if anyone can - it's me. Had a lot of life experience. And, got a lot of resources. Superhero perks," he laughed, trying to lighten your mood. "You trust me?" he asked, to which you nodded. "Good. So, trust me. I've got you. And right now, we've got some burritos that need eatin', and you need to tell me what freesh ava ca doo is."
Hearing the words come out of his mouth was entirely ridiculous and you couldn't help but snort. It left a smile on your face.
"There she is! Come on. Up!”

kdrama rec/review: bridal mask
KDRAMA AND CDRAMA MASTER LIST OF REVIEWS
Series: bridal mask / gaksital Episodes: 28 Genres: historical, action, drama, romance, tragedy, people screaming each others’ names in all capital letters 2006 anime style Spoilers in the Rec: im going to try to avoid them. im really, really going to try. but no guarantees If You Like, You’ll Like: zorro, robin hood, v for vendetta, chicago typewriter, vigilante shit, kate beaton comics on My Nemesis, mr sunshine, watching people become progressively unhinged, bad guys that become good guys, good guys that become bad guys, Parallel Narratives, cat and mouse games but they’re both cats, 2010 hair in a 1930s world, people in a room together internally thinking does he know that i know that he knows?
Rank: 9.5/10
GAKSITALLLLLLLLLLLLLL PREMISE
set during the japanese occupation of korea in the 1930s, bridal mask centers on lee kangto, an absolute shit weasel. like. good god, what an asshole. anyways.
kangto is a korean police officer who is employed by the japanese--meaning he’s essentially a rat/turncoat to his own people and supporting their colonization and abuse of power. it’s especially fucked up because kangto’s older brother was tortured so much by japanese police officers that he’s essentially lost his mind. people hate kangto. straight up hate him.
as a lieutenant in the imperial police, kangto’s been working to catch members of the korean resistance movement, but left and right he’s been thwarted by...
THE BRIDAL MASK (gaksital in korean)
a mysterious figure who wears a mask resembling a korean bride’s traditional makeup. bridal mask is essentially zorro, fucking up shit left and right and generally making kangto lose his shit. he makes it his goal to be the one to apprehend and arrest this mysterious figure. seems straightforward, but as kangto’s search for the bridal mask continues, and the people around him are drawn into the hunt, it’s clear that shit’s not what it seems.
MAIN CHARACTERS
lee kangto/sato hiroshi/lee young
a korean man who works for the japanese as a police officer. 0% approval rating from the koreans and maybe a 5% approval rating from the japanese. kangto’s initial goals for joining the police force were to help his family get out of poverty, but his morality’s been cha-cha sliding progressively darker the longer he works for the police force. he becomes obsessed with catching the bridal mask and everyone would like him to really quit being an asshole but he will not.
catch phrase is bingo! takes over the nightclub stage when he’s feeling swaggy. would shoot the love interest. shoots pretty much anyone wearing a mask, really, then yells about it
oh mok dan / mild spoiler: esther / spoiler: boon yi
a patriotic korean woman associated with the independence army, mok dan commits acts of subterfuge and gathers intel against the japanese forces. her day job is a performer at a circus, where she lives and hides out from japanese officials whenever shit goes awry. when lee kangto sees her getting saved by bridal mask, he assumes she’s the bridal mask’s lover and therefore intends to use mok dan as The Bait. mild spoilers it turns out she was once childhood friends with lee kangto’s best friend, kimura shunji
wears many amazing suits. has no problem with spitting or shooting. fears no boxes. can take a punch or 5. basically my dream girl it’s fine
kimura shunji
a japanese man and kangto’s best friend. coming from a family of influential, imperialist asshole samurai cops, shunji is the black sheep as he works as a music teacher for korean children, and is generally against the corruption and abuse of power when he sees it. basically the only one kangto’s never a straight up asshole to, including his family. the two practice what appears to be kendo together (i know jack shit about martial arts), and shunji’s a capable fighter. my default is to assume shunji is everyone’s favorite character, because he is my favorite character :’D, but if not i think he’s definitely the most compelling in the series.
wears bowties when he wants to dress to impress. rides bicycles both happily and tragically. has a thing for a childhood friend who saved his nanny. will give you a ride home after you’ve been tortured. save this man from his family.
ueno rie/ra ra/ spoiler: chae hong joo
a korean woman from a rich family that was murdered by the independence army who later became a gisaeng. as a gisaeng, she crosses paths with a very important japanese man who later adopts her into his family. because the japanese police keep fucking up the apprehension of bridal mask, her adoptive father calls her to korea from japan in order to kill the vigilante
stealth fave?! will step all over you and makes grown men cry. hyper competent and hardcore. bridal mask’s best dressed (try again with the bow ties next year, shunji). men are weak
the bridal mask GAKSITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the mysterious figure either ruining or making everyone’s day. dramatic horse escapes. dramatic rescues. generally just drama. symbolically destroys japanese flags/insignia a lot. GAKSITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOME SUPPORT CHARACTERS SELECTED BY HOW MUCH THEY ARE MY FAVORITES
mok damsari
mok dan’s father and a general in the independence army. v good at being rescued dramatically. knows how to make an exit and also bombs. dispenses life wisdom when he’s got free time in between rounds of being torture
lee kang san
kang to’s older brother, who joined the independence army and was tortured by the japanese police to the extent that he’s now lost his mind/severely mentally ill. dude just needs a hug or 20 and to never chase after a car ever, ever again because it makes me sad.
katsuyama jun
ueno rie’s bodyguard, which is amusing to me because she can clearly kill anyone she needs to, so it’s kind of like he’s a butler as well. stoic af, says maybe 20 lines in the entire series, but look, he’s cool
i dont like any of the japanese police officers because they’re dicks so they don’t get a feature :|
Drawbacks
the production value is something you gotta settle into LOL. there’s the cheesy martial arts sound effects, sometimes it skews a little narmy, but once you get used to it and once the show gets progressively darker (and how) you adjust and then don’t notice it
my main #1 beef: mok dan starts to disappear in the last fourth of the series. like she’s still there, but she’s doing bullshit like making soup and just sitting at a table with nothing to say. as a character that’s so important in the first half, it’s severely disappointing the route that her narrative takes toward the end/she does become something of a satellite character even though i still love her
there are main character deaths--more than one. some people would say the ending is bittersweet but to me i think it’s straight-up sad (which is fine with me/appropriate for the story, i just know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea)
there’s torture and for the most part it’s shown / it’s not off-camera
shit gets dark. the first handful of eps might lull one into thinking is something like zorro or robin hood, but there’s a lot of fuckery and death by the time you get to the end
Reasons to Watch
i mean, it’s fun! which is a messed up thing to say about a dark show, but there’s a lot of twists and the show’s an extended game of cat-and-mouse that’s a good time because the audience knows certain things but the main characters don’t. the drama of it all!
Now That’s What I Call Character Arcs. kang to + shunji’s respective character arcs are amazing and are referred to as the best part of the show for a reason. you’ll hate and love them both throughout the series and it’s great. shunji was my favorite
i love both the female leads a lot. they’re totally different in personality and the sides that they’re on, but they’re both compelling and they have their own troubles and goals to work through
one of the main characters looks around the chaos happening and decides to just fucking leave all these people behind forever lmao i love it
acting is great! some people knock on mok dan’s actress but i thought she was perfectly fine for the character
i’ll admit, i’m into characters who become progressively unhinged and the actor who plays the character who does is so so A+
there’s romance but gd does it get dark sometimes. this is a plus or a minus depending on who you are lol
Final Thoughts.

True Beauty KDrama Review

Bingo Card For True Beauty
Synopsis: Im Joo Kyung is a high schooler who is upbeat and positive about most things, except for her appearance! She hates the idea of being seen in public without makeup, but fortunately has become a self-taught makeup expert, with a little help from a plethora of internet video tutorials. What she has learned online has transformed her life. At school, she is known as one of the prettiest girls in class, although she secretly lives in fear of her schoolmates discovering what she looks like behind the makeup. In fact, there is only one person from school who has ever seen her minus her “mask” – Lee Su Ho. He is a top-grade student with impressive basketball skills. He is also dashingly handsome, and many of his female classmates have a crush on him. However, Lee Su Ho harbors a few dark secrets from his past, and shuns attention in class. Slowly, these two individuals become drawn together and learn more about one another’s secrets.
Overall Main Plot: Rating - 8 out of 10
Personally speaking, I really like dramas that center on the conception of beauty (although it is problematic because she IS pretty and it’s seen without her makeup, but like whatever I guess). I think the main thing that drew me to this point was the fact that insecurity is a big thing in this drama and watching the main lead (Ju Kyung) progress over time and grow more confident with her bare face, along with making real friends who don’t judge her from her face alone. Since that’s the main plot that drives the story, there were a couple of points that threw me off.
High School Dramatics - maybe it’s because I’m older, but there were so many high school antics that were happening. I understand that, in Korea especially, there’s the issue of high school bullying but it was just so... dramatic. Especially with how Ju Kyung was being discovered as... ugly? I don’t even know if that’s how I would describe it. Although, I do understand that these characters are young, but the dramatics of it all in high school was more funny than annoying for me.
Trauma - one thing that I felt needed to be addressed more was the trauma, especially Suho’s because homeboy has been through a lot. What I appreciated was the representation of him having a panic attack, but that was the only time it was addressed that he’s developed a lot of psychological issues. Obviously, Ju Kyung also has psychological issues due to her insecurity and her mother (until the end-ish when her mom found out that Ju Kyung was getting bullied, but again, a WHOLE different story). I just felt like there was less closure about these things and I really hoped that Suho would get the help he needed after everything he’s been through.
Characters: Rating - 9 out of 10
↣ Lim Ju Kyung [played Moon Gayoung] - wowowowow. I absolutely loved her character and her character development. She was the stereotypical female lead, but she’s absolutely precious and watching her grow as a person was so satisfying. I felt for her so much because she’s gone through so much and that’s impacted the way she’s viewed life and I just wanted her to be happy. I ultimately give her a lot of credit for trying to move on from Suho though and knowing where she wants to take her life (especially after dealing with all the heartbreak). The only real problem I had with her was her center on romance even though she couldn’t even get her grades up, but also like... it’s a romance drama, what was I supposed to expect? But she did have her own interests (make-up, horror comics, etc.) and her own personality to things. Overall, I thought she’s a great female lead and she’s absolutely precious.
↣ Lee Suho [played by Cha Eunwoo] - okay, he’s also precious. It took a bit for me to warm up to him, but after seeing what he’s been through, I get why he would keep his distance from others. What I didn’t like was the fact that he broke up with her and then comes out of nowhere, which then he proceeds to take a longer time to apologize to her for even though he could have just... texted her, called her, something. He acted like nothing happened when he was the one who broke up with her (for a good reason, but it was still stupid to have a break up sequence that felt unnecessary). Anyways, I did like his development and how he came to mend things with Seojoon and it didn’t ruin their friendship. I also liked how he grew to have an interest towards creating music, especially after what happened with Seyeon. There was also his relationship with his father, but it was still unclear as to what happened after his mother died. But yeah, he’s also another precious bean and Suho and Ju Kyung are a great couple.
↣ Han Seojoon [played by Hwang Inyup] - second lead syndrome hit real hard here. His character is so great, probably because he’s the soft bad boy that everyone dreams of having. I didn’t like him at first because he pushed all his anger and frustration onto Suho and tried to use Ju Kyung as a way to hurt Suho. However, he grew to understand what actually happened and also, the way he cares for his family is super cute. His friend group is also super cute because they look like a bunch of gangsters when they’re just a bunch of idiots.Again, I noted this with Suho, but when the two made up and became friends again, even though they liked the same girl... Love, love, love. Obviously, he’s also super handsome and had so many chaotic, but iconic, scenes. His character is just so great. He was casted so well and your heart hurts when you look at him.
↣ Kang Soojin [played by Park Yoona] - okay, Soojin [episodes 1 to 9] is the best. She was so iconic and such a girl crush. After that? So far downhill that she doesn’t get recovered until the last episode. The writers did her so dirty and that’s a hill I will die on. Lowkey, Soojin and Ju Kyung should’ve gotten together but they didn’t because this is not a girl love drama and that was a major missed opportunity. Anyways, while I hated her as a second female lead, I understood her motives, in the sense of the household she was growing up in. This was important because of her character development when she apologized to Ju Kyung and realized her mistakes. It also wasn’t just out of the blue; it was a slow progression that built up to the climax and it was absolutely heartbreaking to watch because Ju Kyung and Soojin lost a best friend. But yeah, the writers did her dirty and I was crying on the inside when they made her a second female lead, when they could’ve just made Ju Kyung fall for her instead.
Personal Notes: A major strength of this drama is the character development, for all of them. Watching them grow from their problems was so satisfying and the only reason it got docked off a point is the fact that the writers did Kang Soojin so goddamned dirty and her redemption was saved for episode 16 and I will always be angry about it. They also made Seojoon to be a more sad character who didn’t get the girl, but notes about the drama compared to the webtoon will be made in a later section.
Romance: Rating - 9 out of 10
I actually really liked the main couple. It was clear there was chemistry and, while I didn’t really like Suho trying to blackmail her, it was also kind of sweet because he just wanted to spend more time with her and she was just.... so dense. While Seojoon provided hard SLS, I liked Suho with Ju Kyung better because he’s seen her at a low point and so has she and they both try to support each other. They were really cute together too, especially since they spent a lot of time at the comic shop because of their aligned interest of horror comics and then they would go to the movies too to watch, even though Suho is scared. I think my favorite scene is when he took her to see Selena and she visibly brightened up. The only reason it isn’t 10 out of 10 is the one scene where Suho was jealous about Seojoon and was super possessive, but he also apologized and admitted his mistake. There was that and also the break-up, which, again, wasn’t really necessary but for the sake of the drama, it had to be there.
Second Plot/B-Plot and Secondary Characters: Rating - 10 out of 10
Okay, first things first: Hee Kyung and Mr. Han are the cutest couple in this drama. I looked forward to seeing their romance progress more compared the main couple, primarily because they were not the standard couple we see in kdramas. The traditional gender roles were switched with Hee Kyung pursuing Mr. Han and I ate it all up because they are just super cute. Anyways, I think the secondary characters really did a great job of amping up the main plot and the romance, which is the whole point of these characters. I really didn’t like the mom, but it did transition to a better mother-daughter relationship (even though it happened near towards the end). The villainous characters got what was coming to them; the actors made me hate their characters really easily and it was amazing how upset I got at the bullies and when they got beat up, I was laughing on the floor. Again, the secondary characters really complemented the main characters and overall plot line.
Additional Notes:
Comparisons to the Webtoon - they really did manage to make this a kdrama. If you’re a fan of the webtoon, there are clear differences that make this a stereotypical kdrama, but (personally) I think it worked fairly well. This also meant major changes to a lot of what happened in the webtoon, so it felt so... interesting. The drama and the webtoon each have their strong points, so, while they stem from the same plot line, it was interesting to see the different routes it took.
Bromance - Jesus Christ, I LOVED the Suho x Seojoon bromance. It was so nice to see their friendship mended and how they didn’t let romance break their bond. A lot of people talk about the bromance in this drama and it’s actually worth it. There wasn’t just the bromance between those two, but also Seojoon’s friend group, there was also Taejoon and Suho, and there was also Ju Kyung’s younger brother and Suho. It was all so great.
The Conception of Beauty - okay, this is a major problem in a lot of Korean beauty standards, but like.... Ju Kyung isn’t ugly. I think a lot of people can agree that the whole, pimple face + glasses combo is kind of old. Compared to My ID is Gangnam Beauty (completely different dramas, but still centered on the theme of conceptualized beauty), they didn’t show the face of the “ugly” main character and I really appreciated that because it meant that the main lead perceived it as ugly rather than putting the face of “ugliness” on her. But, I really do like that the drama itself is centered on self-confidence of her bare-face, but... everyone was making it seem like she was really ugly, but like.... come on.
Overall Rating: 8 out of 10
Recommended?
↣ Yes: it’s a youth/school drama (most of the time), so if you’re into that, I would recommend it. Again, one of the strengths of the drama is character development and growth. Another reason to recommend this drama is that the main female lead is very lovable and you always root for her and for things to go well for her because of all the shit she’s been through. There’s also the whole concept of self-confidence, which she gains, and it’s an overall satisfying drama to watch.
↣ No: if you’re a webtoon fan, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it because it definitely strays from the original idea and that’s a bit off-putting to some people. This drama also has hard SLS, so if you don’t wanna have your heart broken, not recommended. They also talk about suicide and if the topic is triggering, you shouldn’t watch it. There’s also the annoying beauty standard that makes the main lead ugly and, if you’re the type to be annoyed at that, this isn’t a drama for you.

Amor Pasado
Chapter 1
(Gif not mine credit to whoever made it!)
I stepped into the house, relishing in the fact it hasn't changed in the last four years. I heard Ruby's muffled voice coming from his room, I snuck in hearing the ending of his conversation.
"Check me out bitches, I got my own room," I couldn't help but smile by how excited he was and how miserable he's gonna be once he finds out I'm back.
Mom wanted me to surprise Ruby since Mario was moving away to college. It was a good excuse to come back home, since I missed the family, "so let's not trash it," Ruby hopped off the bed, helping Jamal.
"Yeah try not to break my bed," I started, coming into the room. Ruby turned to me, spotting the luggage that was behind me, shouting some vulgarities. "you dont miss me," I feigned being hurt. He trudged to me, giving me a hug. I let go, smacking him on his shoulder.
"Curse at me one more time, watch how im gonna smack you across your big head," He smiled, apologizing as he rubbed his arm.
"Carmen, I didn't know you were coming back," he asked me. I shrugged my shoulders, moving my luggage to the desk.
"Wanted to come back for my senior year, can't I miss mi familia," I responded. I said hey to Jamal, opening up my luggage, starting to put my clothes back into drawers. He waved back, grabbing a notebook from the bed.
"Goodbye solo room," he muttered making me giggle before turning to him
"Come on Ruby, you'll love having me as a roommate," Monse came into the room smiling at the boys, greeting them before she saw me.
"Carmen your back too?" you nodded giving the girl a hug. Monse and I grew close since we both love writing. I was the one who encouraged her to join the summer writing camp.
"Can you move that side table," he asked her. I continued unpacking as the kids started arguing. I spotted the bracelet, that I hid under my jeans. A wave of heat moved through my body, leaving my flustered. I threw the bracelet to the edge of the desk, worrying about it later.
"What happened with Ceaser, Carmen?" Monse asked, bringing me back into the conversation. Did something happen with Cesar?
"I dont know whats going on," I surrendered. What happened between them, was news to me. Ruby was always private with his life, even to me.
"Trust us, Cesar is not cool," Ruby added.
"I'm not cool being not cool," She kept her arms crossed. I glanced up at the clock in the room noticing the time.
" Its time for orientation for you three," They ignored me, continuing the argument. Orientation wasn't the most important thing to do for freshmen but I promised mami that Ruby wouldn't be late to his. "Fight on the walk there, but get out!" I shouted. Jamal was the first to leave, the crew following behind.
I grabbed my laptop, getting comfortable in my bed. Today was the last day for submissions for Cornell. No longer having Gardensfields guarantee acceptance, sending this submission made me even more nervous.
The room remained silent as I finished up the manuscript. Once I finished the last chapter, I went to Cornell's website, heading to their submission page. I stayed there for a minute, my mousepad hovering over the send button. I chewed the inside of my cheek, terrified that I'd be rejected.
My phone buzzed a message from Monse,
I need you here at Cesar's.
I got up from bed, leaving my laptop open in bed. It was a short walk from the house so I got there fairly quick.
"Whatever you want to call your new cha-cha-bingos," Jamal whispered. "These new homies he's hanging with, they're thirsty." I raised my eyebrows, looking at Jamal.
"cha-cha bingos, they're called boobs," I told him. Redirecting to Monse I crossed my arms. "What'd you need me, to explain anatomy?" I asked her.
"Moral support, I know you've known Oscar the longest so it's cool now," Not any more kid. Oscar and I lost touch after the ending of summer. He stopped responding to my texts and calls. It's like he fell off the map, it wasn't till later Mario told me that Oscar joined Los Santos and was sent to jail.
I looked towards the front yard, watching Oscar lifting weights. His muscles constricting with every press. He shaved his hair, it was my favorite thing, soft and curly.
"your smiling," Monse added. I glanced back at Monse, who had an all-knowing smirk.
"shut up and what dumb thing are you trying to do?" She grabbed my hand, dragging me across the street, ignoring Jamals pleads.
"I need to talk to you," Oscar looked up, stopping mid tracks. I walked closer to him, leaving only a short distance between us.
"Welcome back," he greeted me, continuing his weights. I crossed my arms, shuffling closer to the idioto.
"That all you're gonna say?" It took forever, trying to forget him. Even while I was in relationships, my former best friend never escaped my mind.
"But if you wanna sit on my face, you got to put that mouth on pause so I can concentrate," I spun around watching Cesar, disgusted at his attitude.
"You're gonna let him talk like that," I mumbled to Oscar. His eyes glimpsed up at me, before looking around to his crew before falling back on mines again.
"He's a grown man," My face scowled.
"he's 14," I fired back, walking away, following Monse who had stormed away.
——
"Mami just let me help," I pleaded to my mother. I wanted to help her cook, help me distract myself, but she swore she wouldn't let my first dinner be something I cooked.
Giving up, I walked to my room, spotting my laptop screen.
My phone buzzed with a message.
meet me outside
I must be crazy, listening to a random number. It wasn't till I saw the red impala, did I realize who texted me.
"Get in," Oscar pulled down the window, shouting to me. After a quick thought, I stepped forward getting into his car. Oscar drove a few feet away, pulling into a parking spot.
It was quiet, none of us wanting to start. I broke the ice asking him, "Why did you join?" He studied my face before going back to watching the streets. "What happened to Pasadena?" He had seemed so happy, wanting to go to that school.
He gave me a quick smile but still remained silent. Fine, you want to play like that, I got ready to walk out but oscar stopped me.
"Why are you back," he blurted. Was that the only thing that was on his mind.
"hard to avoid me now huh,"
He chuckled, "im not avoiding you fool," I shut the door shifting to him, waiting for an explanation. "you were out of this shit neighborhood, good school,"
"Is it illegal to come back, I missed my family," He didn't believe my response.
"You dreamed of going to Gardenfields for years," only since I was 11. I hated how he knew me so well. But i wasn't lying, your family was one of the reasons you came back, just not your only reason.
"Oscar, can you drop it please?" I felt myself tear up, not wanting to talk about it. He dropped it, turning his head back on to the road, giving you quick glances.
"Im happy you came back," he said.
"Your such a dork," Both of us smiled, feeling the tension in the car dissipate. I was about to ask him about the gang when Oscar cut me off.
"Get down," Oscar pulled me down, hiding us from the outside world. After a few minutes, we came back up.
"What the hell was that for?" I fixed my hair, that got messed up from the bending down.
"There was a Santos," Oscar continued looking through the car side mirrors. I scoffed, looking at the dashboard. Why did I ever think would go back to normal. I got out of the car, walking towards my house. His need to hide the fact that he's human kills me. I heard Oscar curse, but I kept walking to my house, going straight to my room.
Turning on my laptop, I headed to Cornell's submission page, clicking the send button, with it my hopes and dreams to finally be done with this neighborhood.

OMG
A/N: This was suggested by the very wise @jilldsumner - thank you!
Square filled: Food Play for @star-spangled-bingo
Word count: 1073
Pairing.. isn’t really a pairing if that makes sense? Steve does have a reader girlfriend, but this is really about Steve & Bucky getting some misleading ideas from Sam, Clint & Nat.
Warnings: implied sexy times, some language, guys being… well guys!
Steve glanced in the pantry and shook his head. “Bucky, look in the freezer for me, would ya?”
Bucky stuck his tongue out at Steve. “Do it yourself punk. Why?”
Steve rolled his eyes, closing the pantry door, then going to the freezer. Rocky road, chocolate chip cookie dough, Moose tracks, Neapolitan, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan… “There’s nothing in here that requires the amount of maraschino cherries, chocolate & caramel syrups, and whipped cream we have. Who the hell keeps buying this stuff?”
“Me,” Sam replied from the doorway. “Wanna know why?” His eyebrows wiggled suggestively. Bucky pretended to gag, while Steve stood there with a blank look on his face.
“Never mind,” Sam groaned.
*
A few days later, Steve had asked you to stay the night. Your relationship had passed the three-month mark, but you hadn’t pushed Steve beyond his comfort zone in the bedroom. You internally cheered at the invite but stayed calm enough to ask what you should pack in your overnight bag. “Surprise me,” Steve told you with a shy smile, blushing furiously at his phone. He loved watching you throw your head back in laughter, something about the column of your neck did things to him. You blew him a kiss and promised to be over promptly at 7pm.
At the same time inside the common room, Bucky was having a heated discussion with Natasha and Clint about the pantry contents. “So you’ve never used…?”
“No, don’t usually need to when it tastes amazing,” Clint winked at Nat who just rolled her eyes. “Is there someone one you’re thinking of having this kind of fun with that we ought to know about?” Bucky’s jaw tightened; he knew better than to answer Nat’s question.
*
The bell to the Tower rung; Steve opened the door with a flourish, welcoming you with a sweet kiss. You sagged against his chest as he pulled back. “That was some greeting, Cap,” you said with a grin, finally lifting your head to gaze at his handsome face.
Steve’s eyes darkened just slightly as he took in your lack of a bag. “Um, sweetheart, did you forget something?” Your grin widened but you said nothing as Bucky ambled in.
“Hey, Buck! My friend was very impressed you called her back. Should we plan a double date sometime?” Bucky whipped his head to see who else might have heard you. Seeing no one, his posture relaxed immediately, offering you a genuine smile. “I really like her y/n. So yeah, maybe the four of us could do somethin’ soon, like Coney Island?”
You tapped a finger to your chin; Steve grinned at you wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you back against his chest. “Oof! Steve!” You playfully swatted his chest before snuggling your cheek to him. You gazed back at Bucky. “I apologize for my handsy boyfriend here! We’ll have to talk about it, but Coney Island or even just a day at the beach might be nice, yeah?”
Bucky rolled his eyes at the two of you. “Ok, talk. I’ll leave you two to… whatever.” He smirked and headed towards the gym.
“Can we get in our own workout?” Steve quirked an eyebrow. You mock swooned at the question.
“Why Captain America, I do declare,” you drawled. “Take me to bed or lose me forever.”
He picked you bridal style as you giggled. “Yes, ma’am!”
*
Sam watched as the two enhanced soldiers sat face to face, murmuring low. He couldn’t make out what they were saying but it seemed like an intense conversation. Perfect. “So can anyone join this conversation, or do you have to be a previous government experiment?”
Steve’s ears went pink while Bucky blanched. “Were you listening in?”
“No.” Sam’s grin grew wider. “But I’m gonna bet you guys were comparing notes about cha girls, am I right?” Steve’s whole face went scarlet.
Bucky huffed and frowned. “What if we were? Gonna give us pointers?”
Sam tilted his head to regard the two. “Depends. Whatcha gonna ask?”
Steve tried to keep his face neutral and failed as the blush crept down to his neck. “So I thought I try using chocolate syrup last night.” Sam’s howl interrupted the story and Steve smacked the table. “Dude! Do you want to hear this and help or just make fun of me?”
Sam recovered and answered honestly. “I plan on doing both. Continue.”
Steve frowned but started his story again. “I was trying to use chocolate syrup. That shit is messy; how do you test the temperature before you use it?”
“Temperature?” Sam was confused by the question.
Then Bucky butted in. “Should you really put whipped cream down there? Seems like it could cause…”
Steve interrupted this time. “And the cherries, I can think of a couple of things…”
Bucky interrupted again. “Should you stick to sweets? I’m thinking cream cheese or…”
Sam threw his hands over his ears. “OH MY GOD! Stop!” Steve and Bucky fell silent. Sam slowly uncovered his ears and looked at them both rather pointedly. “Are you gonna even give me a chance here?” Steve nodded enthusiastically while Bucky gave a ‘why not’ shrug. “Okay, first off, I gotta say I applaud that both of you’re getting out of your comfort zones. But,” he held up a hand sensing a question coming, “if you have to ask the question you should probably not try it first, then ask later. And you,” pointing at Bucky, “should not experiment with anything. Look how you turned out.” Bucky gave him the finger with a sneer.
Steve slumped lower in his seat. “I think y/n hates me now,” he muttered. Sam shook his head but avoided laughing at the blonde.
“It can’t be that bad Steve,” Sam offered. At Steve’s look, Sam made a face. “Ok maybe it was that bad, but if she let you even try whatever it is you thought you were doing, I’m sure she’ll come around.” Sam’s phone buzzed; he grinned at the name that came up. “Ok guys, we’ll start with basic food play training tomorrow. In the meantime, I have my own lady to entertain.” Sam made his way to his stash in the pantry. “Um, guys, did you use ALL of my supplies?”
“Later!” The two cackled as they raced to the gym. Sam shook his head again, secretly glad they didn’t know what he kept in his room.

Act Your Age!
(And Not Your Shoe Size!)
[A Miraculous Ladybug fanfiction] [part 1]
An older teen sat, pressing his back against a wall, a pen filled with tiny d6 dice clenched in his right hand, shame and rage warring within him.
A few moments ago, the biggest, brattiest bully in lycée had caught him reading an adventure novel, for preteens, one of the thickest, popular fantasy novels, some painted tabletop RPG figurines, stat books and dice out around him. Chloe Bourgeois, known Ladybug cosplayer, mocked him for his hobbies.
she.
mocked.
him.
For his interests.
How dare she, how. dare. she. mock. him, what a petulant, childish, bi-
“Sometimes you roll poorly in life, you understand that, don’t you, Regresseur? I am Hawk Moth... it’s hard, isn’t it? Explaining that your interest in media is both above and below your age level, they expect you to flip a coin, roll a dice, pick one or the other... Don’t you wish people would just act their age? I can give you the power to make them see things the way you do, if you give me Ladybug and Cat Noir’s Miraculouses in return. Now, let’s show the world your lucky roll.”
Continued....
The next bell rang out, and students hustled to the next, and thankfully last, class they had today. Marinette knew she was looking forward going home, away from Chloe and her pettiness, away from her own awkwardness around Adrien, relaxing for the last few hours of a relatively calm, lazy day.
Waiting for Mme Bustier to finish talking to Mme Mendeleiev, and come back into the classroom, Marinette turned to look at Alya, who was typing furiously away at her phone, “Hey girl, I was doing some digging about the whole ‘miraculouses’ thing, and I found something neat, so like, you know Robin Hood? Well-” She was interrupted in her explanation, and Marinette barely hid a sigh of relief.
Something had crashed through the skylight in the courtyard.
Glass shattered, students scattered, staff moved to block doors and call the police. A cloud of kicked-up dust was settling, and people could clearly see a giant d20 that had landed in the courtyard, sitting pretty-as-you-please, what was clearly a 20 facing the hole it made. Smoke began to hiss out from little pips on the 6 and 9 faces, and the die began to split open. There was a human, or more appropriately, an akuma silhouette rising out of a crouch. “Chloe Bourgeois! Come out and face me!”
That calm? It just couldn’t have lasted.
It went quiet after that, and Mme Bustier shared a concerned look with an alarmed Mme Mendeleiev, and both women blocked the doorway with their bodies. “Marinette, get everyone to duck under their desks, or out through the side doors.”
The akumatized villain’s voice rang out, “Eenie meenie miney mo... Which door do I pick? Shall I roll for it? Or should I be picking door number 3?”
As he was talking, he sauntered out from the remains of his grand entrance, and spun around in a slow circle gesturing with a pen and looking at the classrooms, before zeroing in on the two teachers blocking the doorway, with a wide smirk he remarked “Bingo, that’s a crit.”
At that point Marinette had scrambled out of her seat and was making sure all of her classmates were A) out of the room, like Chloe or B) hidden by the desks; she put herself just behind the teachers, hands clenched around her purse straps.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are, Chloe. Playtime’s over for you.”
Now the villain had made his way up the stairs, and was leisurely walking over to the classroom door, a jaunty whistle on his lips, and malice in his gaze. As he approached the doorway, he called out, “I’d like to know, is Chloe free for a play date?”
Marinette could see that he was rolling what looked to be dice in one hand, and twirling a pen in the other, her mind awash with plans and contingency plans.
The villain taunted again, “She rolled high when I rolled low, the first time, but now we’re playing with balanced dice, so come on princess! Care to try again?” You could feel the mocking edge, fairly reminiscent of Chloe’s own, in his spiel.
Mme Bustier looked harried, “These are my students, I’m not going to let you hurt them!” The villain clucked his tongue, “Now, now mother hen, I just want that brat to see justice, surely you understand that a child has to face some sort of repercussion. She should act her age, not her shoe size.”
Unfortunately for everyone but the villain, Chloe had heard the comment, because, of course, she was eavesdropping by having the door open a crack. She, of course, inevitably, fell in towards the door, and it, of course, creaked open, slowly, not very subtly, and immediately decided to add her two cents. “’Cha, like I haven’t heard that before, maybe you should just grow up?”
Marinette groaned quietly, that, yep, that was exactly what you should do. You made fun of someone, they got akumatized, and are after you, civilian you. You should totally beak off and make them even more upset with you. Clearly.
I’m sure you can imagine how that went.
So the villain’s face twisted with indigence, he stopped rolling his dice and tucked his pen into his topknot; and Marinette finally stopped her mental monologue to take a look at the villain.
He was tall, almost unnaturally so, due to his- platform boots??- and had a very cocky natural stance; he was wearing the usual super-spandex, equilateral triangle tessellations, like scales, ran up and down his arms, sides, legs, silver and dark blue against the stormy gray of the rest of his suit. His domino mask, too, had the scale triangle pattern in the shape of a butterfly. The emblem over his sternum looked like a pair of icosahedral dice, the left showing a soother and a ‘1′, the right showing a cane and a ‘20′. His hair was more intense shade of blue, like a phthalo blue, and his eyes looked like copper patina.
In short, he looked like he meant business, right down to the nasty smirk he had directed at Chloe. That probably wasn't a good sign.
Throwaway line:
“Tikki, this is bad. Regresseur’s basically got us trapped, Chloe’s been kidified, and I don’t know how to play Chimeras & Chasms!”
Notes:
I’ll be continuing this! Be on the look out July 16~!
Feedback is very much appreciated!
