im sorry for my sudden sudden disappearance!!! Was busy with school- I was wondering though if you could make Cg!Meeks and Little!Dalton headcanons for dps please please please?! I will hug you so hardddd - 📔 anon
HI 📔ANON WELCOME BACK!!!
Also yes absolutely I'm always glad to get dps requests 💕💕💕 🫂
Cg!Meeks & Little!Dalton Headcannons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Starting off, these two's energies balance so well, big or little
Charlie tends to be a very rambunctious lil guy, not even knowing he's causing chaos a lot of the time
(though he does enjoy pranks and causing chaos sometimes)
Meeks is, while also a bit mischievous, a lot more reserved
Against everyone's expectations, the two end up becoming close very fast
A month after school started they were inseparable
Charlie really doesn't care if people know about his regression, but he didn't really know his new roommate (Neil) very well yet, and he prefers to be around people that he knows won't be mean while he's regressed
So he ended up going to Meeks' dorm and kind of explaining his problem
Meeks was a bit confused at first, he had never heard of regression before
But after he and Charlie talked about it a bit more, he accepted it fully
He even offered to let Charlie come into his dorm if he ever needed a safe place to regress
After a few instances of Meeks taking care of Charlie, he asked if he could become his Caregiver officially and Charlie was more than happy to accept
Misc. Headcannons :33
Meeks has a very gentle style of caregiving
He's very affectionate with Charlie, lots of hugs and hair ruffles
Charlie acts like he hates it, but he never seems to complain when he crawls into Meeks' lap for some cuddles
Meeks tends to let Charlie try to figure things out on his own, like a difficult puzzle or some little homework, but if he starts getting too frustrated he'll step in to help him out
Charlie doesn't do very well with homework (totally not projecting *cough cough*), so Meeks makes fun sheets or promises sticker rewards to help him study and understand the material
Meeks loves to read to Charlie
He has lots of interactive kids books so Charlie can always feel included in the storytelling
Getting Charlie to bed at night is usually the most difficult part of their schedule, second only to getting him up in the morning
Meeks always tries to give him a good end to his day, but Charlie is very much a "Bu' I'm not tired!" Kind of little and getting him to stay put in bed long enough to fall asleep is a chore by itself
It only got more difficult as the years went on and Charlie got stuck with a roommate who was much less accommodating than Neil was (Cameron)
But they found ways to work around it, mostly with stuffies and the good luck that Meeks shared a room with Pitts, who also regresses
It's not always pretty, Charlie has his fair share of meltdowns, but in the end Meeks is just glad Charlie trusts him enough to allow him to take care of him
I love these two so much, thank you so much for the request 📔 anon 🫂

Steven canonically resents the diamonds a lot though, he always looked uncomfortable around them and as if he had to put up with them, he even put distance between them and at the end of the show was shown to have left beach city and the gems (who tbh also caused him a lot of trauma) and I actually really liked that, because of the way it resonates a lot with me.
This concept was also illustrated with Greg and Pink, they both had families and close people to them who hurt them a lot and the decision Pd and Greg chose to take was to simply leave their homes and never look back, and both character became much happier and healthier and were shown to have grown a lot thanks to following their own decisions.
At the end of future, (at least it’s what I believe) Steven didn’t seem to entirely have cut ties with his family, but he did left his hometown in order to find his purpose and he seemed to put distance between his family (the crystal gems) directly and indirectly paralleling Greg’s and Pink’s decision, what Was different in this situation was that he was able to let his dedication be known and his family accepted this, they were happy for him and respected him for his choice.
Like sometimes you have family and you love them and you know they love you, yet sometimes you also resent them because they also caused you harm, specially when you grow up in a toxic or abusive environment and sometimes the best thing to do in this sort of situations is to put distance and live your own life.
And Steven portrayed this not only with his main character, but also with Greg and Pink. (This is just only one of the many themes the show carries)
And all of this resonates a lot with me, the crystal gems are like a healthier version of my own family and the diamonds represent the worst aspects of them, and I just relates a lot with Steven and Pink struggles, the way they were seen as “meek” or “childish” and then the way they were affected by their trauma and how when they grow up they started to exhibit resentment and anger, this is very similar to my own experience.
And I just really loved how Pink and Steven being the youngest of the family (like me) were first portrayed as being the “innocent” and “pure” ones, yet this in itself was subverted and turned over it’s own head, because we saw how the treatment of others and their own situation and flaws affected them in a negative way, when Pink and Steven grew up suddenly their negative reactions and traits that they had picked over the years, something that seemed “cute” and “harmless” as younger, it suddenly became bigger and scary as they grew older.
And as someone who has lived in a very abusive household with family that are very similar to the CG and the diamonds, that was such a raw and personal portrayal to me.
I also really loved and appreciated Future for everything I mentioned above (I actually never understood why people disliked the last season so much, it was actually my favorite one of the show!)
Here’s the thing: I get that Steven Universe wanted to present the Diamond Authority as a broken family.
But when you throw war and genocide into the mix, the issue stops becoming just personal to the family member (in this case Pink and Steven).
If Sugar wanted to just write an abusive family, why not leave it at that, instead of also making them colonizers, murderers and tyrants?
No hate for viewers like you who empathized with and saw themselves in Pink Diamond and/or Steven. I just want you to understand why I think this was a really sloppy decision on Sugar’s part.

Alternate Character Interpretations, Part 1: Blue Diamond “Stan”
I’ve noticed a good chunk of the fandom believes BD’s love and compassion toward PD to be pure and wholesome, in the sense that they had a healthy, mutual relationship.  Many would even go so far as to call their relationship (along with the other Diamonds’) as sisterly.  I don’t agree with this description, but I’m not posting to argue about labels per se; rather, I’d like to focus on the dynamic behind the relationship.  What if, instead of the generally accepted “mutual positive regard”, compassion, and empathy we assume for this relationship, it wasn’t actually reciprocated to the same degree?  In fact, I’m willing to interpret and suggest that BD possibly had an obsession with PD that the Diamonds failed to address while PD was alive.  Who knows, maybe PD even indulged in having BD fawn over her; maybe the Diamonds didn’t care.  As radical and bizarre as this may seem, I will present every instance I can recall that influenced my conclusion.
Steven’s Dream
First, I’d like to mention Steven’s Dream, because it is the first episode where we see BD in person.  We find out that she’s been mourning PD’s shattering, so much that she’s willing to risk endangering herself at the impending “emergence” of the Cluster.  She even addresses Pink’s Palanquin, as though it were the residence of her memory.
Tumblr media
“I'm surprised that a human being is capable of understanding how I feel. It's a shame. There's a geo-weapon incubating in your planet that will destroy everything shortly. But you don't deserve that, do you?”
She’s the only Diamond depicted doing this, though that alone is not entirely convincing.  The most striking thing (for me) is when Greg asks her if they (PD and BD) were close.
youtube
It’s not so much what she says as the way it is nuanced; I would describe it as unwavering with sultry overtones, unlike the rest of her speech.  I realize that not everyone may have seen it that way, and that it could just be the way the voice actress speaks, but I interpreted it as a deliberate change of tone, albeit a subtle one.  This is important because reminiscing about her relationship with PD evoked a sense of passion, i.e., strong feelings about the other Diamond.
We should also take into account that these are BD’s words from BD’s memories, and memory is notoriously flawed.  Our first instinct is to probably assume the feelings were mutual, but what if that wasn’t actually the case?  Consider this: if Greg were to ask Spongebob the same question about his relationship with Squidward, how do you think he’d respond?  For those who aren’t familiar with Spongebob Squarepants, Spongebob thinks of Squidward as one of his best friends; Squidward would tell you otherwise.
Tumblr media
I don’t mean to imply PD hated BD, or anything close to that; rather, BD might’ve loved PD in a way that PD couldn’t reciprocate.  It wouldn’t be the first “complicated” relationship between two gems who cared for each other:
youtube
At the conclusion of the conversation with Greg, BD mentions preserving PD’s legacy, and kidnaps Greg in an act that she thinks will benefit them both, by bringing him to the Zoo.
“You know, I really shouldn't be here. But I'm glad I came back one last time. I can save one last piece of her legacy.”
To me, this suggests Blue Diamond’s primary motive for “saving” Greg was not for his benefit, but to appease her preoccupation with the late Pink Diamond. Speaking of the Zoo:
That Will Be All
In this episode arc, the CGs visit PD’s Zoo to get Greg back, only to find out the Diamonds are also there.  Of course, BD is the first to arrive, and enters a chamber filled with a bunch of bubbled Rose Quartzes.  When Yellow enters, you can tell by her tone that she does not approve of BD’s five thousand years of mourning:
“Please tell me you’re joking. You only just left, and you’re already back?  I’m here to bring you back to reality Blue… I thought we agreed we need to put that planet and this whole debacle behind us… You can't keep coming here forever!”
Although YD is shown to also care about and miss PD
Tumblr media
I want to emphasize YD’s attitude toward BD’s mourning; it suggests that being depressed and preserving her belongings is highly unusual, not to mention counterproductive to Homeworld’s utilitarian dogma.  BD’s depression not only left her forlorn enough to shirk responsibility (of being a leader), but has also led to an unhealthy fixation, which is perceived as an abnormal response over such a long period of time.
Now, about PD’s belongings (the RQs, the Zoo, and to some extent Earth): “Preserving” someone’s possessions after they die isn’t unheard of for humans, but these are Gems we’re talking about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The setup looks an awful lot like a shrine or altar, dedicated to a loved one.  She’s even shown to enter in her typical meek fashion, obscured by a dark cloak; when she finally kneels before the “shrine”, she even has her hands clasped together, as though in prayer.  Rather than being coincidental, I think these motifs are meant to allude to the dynamic between PD and BD.  Notice how I chose the word shrine as opposed to altar.  This is because “shrine” is also used to describe a place where one worships or venerates a supreme being, such as a deity or saint.  The Diamonds are certainly held in high regard by their subjects, given the rigid caste system.  In the same episode, we hear groveling preceding “my Diamond”, as well as the title “your clarity”, suggesting who goes where in the pecking order.  However, BD and PD were on essentially the same level, both being Diamonds; it is possible Homeworld views such devotion as peculiar.
The other thing I thought when I saw this scene was this:
Tumblr media
For reference, the Hey Arnold! character shown here, Helga Pataki, had an obsessive, almost-stalker crush on the titular character.  She was too proud to admit it, so she reconciled by creating a shrine to him in her closet.  What I want to emphasize here is the acute fixation she had for Arnold; fixations don’t have to necessarily be romantic in nature though. I think the most compelling support stems from the fact that we have not seen the other two remaining Diamonds doing this, especially Yellow, who tries to act rationally and pragmatically, disapproving of said behavior.
Let’s also take a look at the ramifications of the belongings under preservation. Literally hundreds of bubbled Rose Quartzes are floating above the sitting area/”altar”.  In this state, they are harmless, but to YD, they are a painful and insulting reminder of PD’s shattering.
“It's been thousands of years, Blue, and you still can't bring yourself to destroy these Gems? She was shattered by a Rose Quartz! The entire cut of Gem deserves the same fate!” “But they were hers.”
Technically, they all couldn’t have shattered Pink, and it’s likely they were bubbled even before the shattering occurred, but keeping them around is almost ironic.  Blue is basically keeping the murder weapon(s), source of Pink’s demise around simply because it was hers and she made it(them).  And then there’s the Human Zoo, where this is all taking place.  Based on BD’s reaction to Greg, and her mannerisms later in the episode, Blue doesn’t actually bother to interact or entertain herself with PD’s former subjects or the Zumans on this vessel.  I’m assuming PD created the Zoo because she found humans to be among the most fascinating organic creatures on Earth; BD, however, does not seem to share or appreciate this interest.  PD’s quartz soldiers were appointed as caretakers of the facility.  Again, she’s practically hoarding this stuff because she can’t move on.  For her it’s easier to go to the Zoo and wallow in grief.  Did I mention she does this at the expense of her job as a leader?  At the very least, her listlessness is a symptom of a cognitive impairment, like a mood disorder.
Further, I’d like to take into consideration her volatile mood shifts in the presence of Holly Blue, Ruby, and Sapphire.  At first she’s gloomy; YD tries to cheer her up, but ends up almost breaking down at the end of her song.  However, when they are interrupted, both become far more stern and skeptical of their subjects.
Tumblr media
When Sapphire plays it in a way that mentions humans for PD’s Zoo, BD returns to her melancholic state.
Tumblr media
This suggests that BD’s despondency is based entirely on the thought/mention of PD.  It’s as though there is some unseen, beguiling force that draws BD to the Zoo and PD’s Palanquin, to merely make her miserable.  She needs to stay away and move on, but she can’t, and I think it has something to do with a “toxic” or debilitating state of mind.
The Trial
Here we see a better glimpse of Blue Diamond’s diplomatic nature, while still succumbing to sorrow at the mention of Pink Diamond.  Again, Yellow and Blue have different ideas of (barely) coping with the loss of someone close to them.  YD thinks the most appropriate course of action is to shatter RQ without a trial, but BD is willing to listen to reason.  I’d chalk this up to her intrinsic diplomacy, and has the added benefit of confirming the circumstances surrounding the shattering.  I will say that the power dynamic between YD and BD is interesting, since they seem to disagree every time they’ve been on screen together.  YD has been shown to be rather obstinate with others who disagree with her, but she seems to oblige BD.  I think this is, in part, due to rationalizing that presenting a seemingly united front to their subordinates reinforces their authority and righteousness.  Despite having one foot out the door, she doesn’t protest when BD indicates that she’s ready to dole out a harsh punishment:
“No. I want to hear her make her case. I want to know what she thinks we're going to do with her. Because I want to do something worse.”
I don’t want to dwell on YD’s actions here, so I’ll try to focus from BD’s perspective.  When Blue hears RQ(Steven’s) confession, she wants to hear more, specifically, how. In fact, she presses him, but unfortunately Steven is unprepared.  Not actually aware of the specific events, he tried to reason how it might have happened; part of his testimony includes mentioning the breaking point.  We soon find out that the Diamonds have some sort of official report that does not align with Steven’s recount, but the most damning thing he mentioned was the weapon.
“IT WAS A SWORD!”
We know from the episode “Bismuth” that the CG in question crafted RQ’s trademark sword to cut through the physical form, but not the gem (see linked transcript), so it makes sense Steven would not suggest a sword.  Regardless, Blue Diamond is offended and upset by his assertion, so much that she bursts into tears, affecting every gem present.  If she wanted to hear Steven out, why this response?  I think her bias toward Pink has hindered her judgment, so her diplomatic demeanor isn’t what it was before (when?  Before Ruby and Sapphire fused?  Before the Rebellion?).  She’s also a chest gem, like YD and Amethyst, the latter of which was described by the SU art book as “impulsive”.  Her impulses get the better of her again when the defense Zircon describes how PD was attacked.  However, she continues to take an active role during the Trial, and to YD’s chagrin, is riveted by the defense Zircon’s argument.  At the shocking conclusion, BD gasps, while YD chooses to vent by destabilizing both Zircons.  Of course, an argument between the Diamonds ensues.  Yellow really wants to shatter “Rose” and be done with this nonsense, while Blue insists it isn’t.
“Can’t you restrain yourself?!”
Blue Diamond is certainly suspicious now, and I wouldn’t be surprised if, in future episodes, she reopens investigation.  Her interest in the matter speaks volumes about her relationship with the other Diamonds, in that while YD didn’t want to entertain the thought of another Diamond being involved, BD found it plausible.  Doesn’t mean a Diamond was involved, but I have a feeling BD does not trust YD or WD the way she did PD.  Maybe this seed of doubt will lead to intra-Authority conflict, or maybe not.  Maybe, BD is so consumed by her grief and vengeance for PD, that what was once an amicable relationship between BD and YD (or WD), will now resemble one of frenemies (i.e., beings who appear amicable for the sake of formality, when in reality they don’t actually get along).  Of course we can’t know this until the Diamonds return, and even then, Steven’s perspective limits what we are able to experience in relation to the Diamonds.
Off Colors/Lars’ Head
I’d like to point out something in series about the Homeworld Kindergartens.  Now, I certainly wasn’t the first one to figure out how to determine who the kindergartens belong(ed) to, but I will use this formula to suggest a reason for BD being closer to be PD than she was to the other Diamonds.  The first kindergarten that we encounter has an Era 1 Authority Symbol with the right diamond lined, which is the position where Blue’s diamond was located.
Tumblr media
Shortly afterward, we see a different section of kindergarten, this time with the bottom diamond underlined to represent Pink.
Tumblr media
I speculate that it was more than just a coincidence that these two Diamonds’ kindergartens were depicted in this way, and that it was meant to imply the type of relationship, or origins of PD and BD’s relationship.  I think PD and BD at the very least worked closely together, though it is also possible that BD mentored PD.  Even if she wasn’t the youngest Diamond, PD only had one colony (and Earth’s moon), meaning she was the least experienced.  I cannot tell when these kindergartens were created, relative to each other, but in either case, BD would have gotten to know PD more intimately than YD or WD.  At some point, it could have escalated to an overwhelming desire to think about and be around PD.
We know from The Answer that diplomats (BD’s domain) were sent to Earth early on to “investigate” the rebel situation.  This also means BD was involved with the anti-Rebellion efforts early on, so much so that she was even on Earth.  Currently, we have no evidence of YD (or WD) going to Earth, at least during the Rebellion, but this doesn’t mean that neither did.  I just thought that, unlike YD, BD’s ill will does not encompass the entirety of Earth, but rather the Crystal Gems, and anyone who aided them, even accidentally.  This was the case with Ruby’s first fusion with Sapphire, allowing Rose and Pearl to escape; BD saw it fit to punish Ruby by shattering, far more sympathetic toward PD than Ruby, who probably wasn’t even BD’s gem.  Was the punishment (at the time) justified, or was BD to distraught by PD’s situation to appropriately discipline Ruby?  The blame was more on Ruby than Sapphire, so maybe at the time anyone she didn’t already trust was automatically an outsider.
For these reasons, I’ve chosen to interpret that BD is obsessed with PD, in a way that resembles a stan.  Of course, the Crewniverse has made a lot of things about the gems and events pretty ambiguous, including the history and relationships between the Diamonds, so I cannot claim anything with complete certainty.  Although making Blue Diamond infatuated with Pink Diamond might seem peculiar, I believe it would draw important parallels between the CGs and the Diamonds.  As I mentioned earlier, this type of relationship has been explored before, namely the one between Rose and Pearl.  I am aware of theories comparing BD to Pearl, but they suggest that the dynamic between the remaining Diamonds and PD resembles that of their respective counterpart and Steven.  Steven has another form: Rose Quartz, and this is the form that “died”, to be reborn as Steven.  This is particularly relevant in BD’s case, since she, like Pearl, appears the most distraught over the passing of one of their own.  Anyway, I hope you appreciate my alternative analysis of the relationship between Blue and Pink Diamond.  I like to imagine that the Diamonds are more complex characters with complicated relations, rather than simply being “sisters” who care(d) for each other.  I also plan to write a theory on the type of personality PD might have been, though we have even less to go on than BD.

eh whatever here’s those su rewrite ideas i had last night
okay so first of all tweaking the main three cg’s personalities/giving them more equal focus, they could each have a big emotional problem that steven helps them get over.
give garnet more of a thing about inheriting a leadership role with rose gone and struggling with that, like an extension of the future vision worries where she thinks she has to be more aloof to be ‘strong’ but really can’t do that 24/7 and needs to have her vulnerable moments.
take the soft sad gay thing they’re trying to do with blue diamond and give that to pearl, cause rose died incredibly recently for potential immortal aliens like them. have her struggle with speaking up for herself and such because with the rebellion over she doesn’t know what her purpose in life is (the whole “i was designed to be a servant” deal would be handled better this way i think instead of how it was in like the sardonyx episode).
bring out how much more amethyst enjoys human life than the other two. between that and being a kindergarden reject, does she feel like a ‘real’ gem the way steven sometimes questions his humanity? have her be the main link to the minor human characters next to steven - more than just vidalia, she knows like everyone in beach city.
then fusion tweaks:
opal becomes a thing about how pearl (ingrained traditionalist, but meek/unintentionally passive-aggressive) and amethyst (free spirit, defiant, wants to break norms but also feels like an outcast for doing so) find a middle ground. i love opal but i think she fuses a bit too easily sometimes? idk
SUGILITE. change like this entire episode. maybe the homeworld tower thing that they fuse to break has like a defense mechanism or something and sugilite gets amnesia (bc the part about losing the old identities makes much less sense for garnet and amethyst as sug than, say, lapis and jasper as malachite); steven and pearl have to help her remember with all the reasons they loved garnet and amethyst. and maybe add a little thing about how both parties want to hide their insecurities in the fusion, like sardonyx but much less yikes.
SARDONYX oh boy. maybe make her episode more about overwork/perfectionism. instead of pearl tricking garnet into fusion by rebuilding the tower, there’s some kind of trick to it they can’t figure out, so they keep having to reform even as it tires them out, as much as gems can be tired. again like with sugilite, the crux of the issue is that both gems are hiding their fear of making mistakes under sardonyx’s confident facade. then maybe they don’t handle it well at the end of the episode, blaming each other, and their reformation after keystone motel (which i guess in this rewrite, ruby and sapphire splitting would be triggered by garnet reaching max self-doubt) isn’t “pearl says she’s worthless and garnet says she’s not” but “garnet and pearl admit their mistakes and reaffirm what they admire in each other”. i rly like focusing on the cg’s friendships okay.
and that was the meat of what popped into my head last night but here was some extra little stuff
remove the episode where pearl wants to go home because it really makes no sense in light of what we know about homeworld, or like change it so it’s about steven wanting to go into space instead, maybe he finds an old gem ship and kind of takes off accidentally (but also at a point where he’s wondering where he really belongs + frustrated that he doesn’t know a lot about homeworld) and has to find a way back/to communicate with the gems for help
change steven’s racist uncle into, like, agent mulder. he’s a low-ranking Men in Black expy guy and that’s why greg hasn’t seen him in a long time, plus y’know hiding the alien wife. steven and greg are worried about all those movies where aliens get dissected and stuff and think he’ll hurt them but uncle just really thinks aliens are cool and wants to meet them. and then the twist is that the men in black stand-ins have low-key known about the cgs for ages or something.
instead of banishing them to the barn, have lapis take breaks to go off on trips exploring nature to heal and reacquaint herself with her love of water. have peridot like apprentice with bismuth (who rly needs like an entire post to herself). also change peridot from being short since we have too many short cgs, make it so she just actually has missing limbs or smth and gets to choose a middle ground between “homeworld forced these enhancers on me bc they don’t tolerate how i really am” and “my enhancers are my comfort objects” by letting her build her own and decide when to use them

Hello, I'm here to bother you again! If you could and feel comfortable with, could you maybe right some Cg! Mr. Keating and Little!DPS boys headcanons please? I just feel like all of those boys need to be able to relax once and a while and Mr. Keating would be over the moon to help his boys out and be even more thrilled that they all feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable and small around him. Anyways that's all, have a great day!💜💜💜
EEEE Absolutely!!! Also yes, give those boys a break please
Cg!Mr. Keating and Little!DPS Headcanons :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
General:
Keating loves these boys like they were his own
As such he makes sure they all have a place to go that they know will be safe if they can't regress in their own room or if their cg is away
This place ultimately ends up being his office, in which he keeps lots of little gear and sensory stuff (well hidden from the prying eye)
They don't trust him all at once (Todd and Cameron take the longest), but eventually they all spend many a Saturday playing in Mr. Keating's office while he does some paperwork
It's a cozy scene, and one they are all glad of after the long weeks of Hellton
Neil
Tumblr media
Neil is, of course, the one who trusts Keating first
He's already something of a parental figure to Neil, so when Niel decides to open up about his regression, nothing really changes
He does treat him a bit gentler when regressed, less pushing and more gentle persuasion (this really goes for all the boys)
Neil LOVES it when Keating reads to him, so he makes sure to buy his favorite books whenever he can
Lots of Arthurian Fairytales and Adventure Stories
Keating will also play whatever role Neil needs him to play in the shows he puts on with his stuffies
(He usually ends up playing the "scary" villain or the wise old wizard)
Neil isn't very used to physical affection from a parental figure, so it takes a while for him to warm up to Keating's casual hair ruffles or back pats
The second Neil gets uncomfortable, Keating stops, but it can be difficult to tell at times
Neil is very good at hiding how he truly feels
Keating actually has an oddly hard time telling when he's regressed if he's not told
But the second Neil comes into his office upset, he is ready to accommodate whatever he needs
Pacifier? On it
Comforting words? A whole notebook full
Someone to sit and listen? He's always had a good ear
He ends up being just what Neil needs in the absence of his own father
Todd
Tumblr media
Again, he takes the longest out of all the poets to trust Mr. Keating enough to regress around him
He and Cameron usually just sat off to the side, watching the others play enviously
It wasn't that Todd didn't want to play, but the idea of being that vulnerable in front of others made him want to puke
No matter how much he tried to hide his discomfort, Keating always seemed to know what he was feeling
He was very good at making sure Todd was still included even if he wasn't comfortable enough to regress around him
Offers to take care of the others usually disguised an excuse for Todd to play and have fun while still being comfortable
Eventually the two had a conversation about Todd's feelings on regressing in front of Keating and the other Poets (which is something Keating would never force him to do)
They came to the decision that Todd would start regressing in front of the others little by little, taking baby steps and pulling back whenever needed
Keating made sure he was comfortable and set up his ground rules with the others for playing with Todd
No teasing, roughhousing, or bullying of any kind was the gist of the rules
The others were very kind and gentle with Todd for the most part (Charlie had a couple mishaps)
Todd still stuck mostly to Neil, but Keating soon become one of the few others he would cling to if he needed reassurance or comfort
He very much acts like a little koala, and Keating is usually fine getting clung to unless he needs to chase down one of the other boys
Keating still tries to get Todd out of his comfort zone, but in a much gentler, slower way.
Charlie
Tumblr media
Firstly
Keating and Charlie definitely have a more rough relationship at first
Charlie doesn't have much issue with regressing in front of Keating, but when Charlie's regressed?
He's the brattiest little of all the boys.
Keating knows how to handle it, but he gets a little burnt out after multiple days of Charlie's antics and has to remind himself not to snap
If he does snap, he's always sure to tell Charlie that no, he doesn't hate him, he just needs a calm moment to breathe
Charlie knows to leave him alone then, if only for a moment
The two go back and forth with play arguments quite often
Keating also helps Charlie get his energy out by playing lots of soccer, or even sometimes just chasing him around the room until one of them is too tired to go on
The two get on each others nerves, but at the end of the day Keating just wants to make sure that he is safe and happy
Knox
Tumblr media
Keating helps Knox out a lot when he can't understand what the others are talking about
He's very good at putting it into simpler terms for the boy and making sure he doesn't get too lost in the conversation
The two sit down together often to work through any homework he doesn't understand and help make it simpler for him (projecting? me? never!)
Keating is also has no problem going to Knox's other teachers and berating them for bullying him in class
Knox is one of the littles who definitely needs help falling asleep, so the others usually find him napping on Keating's lap while he work out difficult problems or works on grading
Meeks
Tumblr media
Keating loves to help Meeks with little expirements when the boy is regressed
Does he understand the science? No, but Meeks does and it makes him happy, so what does that matter?
Keating also lets the Meeks and Pitts use the tv in his room to watch sci-fi programs and historical documentaries whenever he can
Pitts
Tumblr media
I don't have much to say about Pittsy
However
I do think that he has a surprising sweet tooth that Keating is more than happy to indulge
He gets Pitts sweets anytime he goes into town
Both Keating and Pitts love red licorice, so they have their own stash set apart from the other snacks
Cameron

Cameron is... difficult
he doesn't regress around the others often
(mainly because he thinks that they really hate him)
but whenever he does, he stays very quiet and tries not to get in the way of their games too much, even though he really does want to play
He is the only one of the Poets that Keating pushes a bit harder to play with the others while regressed, because he knows that the others don't hate him
Keating hates seeing any of his boys feeling left out so, much like with Todd, he always makes sure Cameron has at least one person to play with at all times
He actually usually puts Todd and Cameron together to play because of how shy they both are
Because of this, the two become better friends, and end up sticking together like glue most of the time they are regressed.
Anytime Keating sees the two of them stuck together, he smiles a bit because of how proud he is of them coming out of their shells
Hooo this was a doozy! Loved every second of writing it <3 <3 <3
