👯: What canon character are you most similar to?

this is a tough one...i think a hypothetical fandom would consider me to be like. what would happen if cerri worked for mortimer. which i dont think is far off. at the very least we're similar in style. irl i think im more like 114 though. at least in term of how i handle my job.

☕️: What are the most common plots of shipping fics between you and your f/o?

i feel like a hypothetical fandom would do either Office Romcom Shenanigans (featuring plenty of office gossip among the reapers of course) or hurt/comfort extrapolated from what little of my s/i's backstory + their history with fate would actually be present in game dialogue. that reminds me i need to write something about that backstory myself.

Gunpowder Lullaby - A Death and Taxes Inspired Cocktail

This is based on a drink that my best friend got on a recent playthrough of Death and Taxes. The Bartender Cerri asks you some questions and a cocktail is generated. This is a very floral, herby cocktail. But still very light and refreshing. (Not at all what you would expect from the person who I based this off of. he’s more likely to drink a shot of rum and then go build a deck.)

1.5 oz Irish Gunpowder Gin 0.5 oz Elderflower Liqueur 0.5 oz Simple Syrup 4 oz Club soda Garnish: Long Lemon Peel Combine Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, and simple syrup into a mixing tin. stir gently. pour into a Collins glass with ice. Top with club soda.

Fate’s Odd Management Level in Death and Taxes: LOREEE

So, basically- Cerberus’ Den (the bar area in Death and Taxes) has a lot of hidden gems :)

One of which involves Cerri, the Archivist, and Fate, that is: Highest Management isn’t openly a thing.

In one of the weeks (right after Fate returns from his first break and lady pawdington is in charge, though I suppose events may be random for the bar) we can talk to The Archivist about how big the Office really is. And they mention that not all of the floors are visible to everyone- in fact, they are only visible if you have this extreme clearance level (AAA-something-C-something, I forget the details). But why is that? Aside from not having people’s brains get scrambled?

Well, on different occasions you can talk to Cerri in the bar and in one of the first weeks can ask how the Office management system works. This is their response:

So already we see that on even a middle level- nobody really is made aware of what’s happening. Middle management is unknown and Higher management is unknown. Now- Fate is mentioned separately from them, yet is not classified as anything higher. The point alone would put Fate at the very top, but we know with the Archivist that this is not the case. As a reaper, we don’t have max clearance to see the more important- hidden floors, so logically- Fate isn’t anywhere near the top of the chain.

He even proves that himself-

Cerri mentions ��Middle Management” and “Higher Management” and puts Fate on his own- but Fate references “HighEST Management” which notes that there are in fact steps above him. Even more so, he is reprimanded several times by people (which is a thing that bosses do to their employees) showing that Yes, there is someone above Fate.

So we know that. There’s a secret Highest Management that general workers are not informed of, nor can see, that Fate is not included in (which we know from his reprimands from superiors) But where does that put Fate?

He’s not referenced as Middle or Higher Management, but He’s not Highest Management either. Frankly, it seems like he’s in some kind of limbo between Middle and Higher positions- or perhaps Higher Management that got privileges taken away. They mentions that they have tried to change the way the Office operates but that it never worked out- I wouldn’t be surprised if Highest Management decided to strip some of his freedoms or benefits because of his disobedience/unwillingness to cooperate with the way things were “working”.
