ive been thinking about the pirate au so heres some ships and thier crews roles :p
(i dont know who originally made this au but if you do let me know!)
dsmp/mcyt/variety gaming youtubers/
IM SORRY IM ON MOBILE I CANT PUT A CUT SO JUST SCROLL SORYY IF IM CLOGGING UP A TAG OR THE DASH APOLOGIES
so
sallys ship (girbosses!!)
captain- sally
quartermaster- puffy
sailing master- niki
gunner- hannah
boatswain- friend
sallys ship is the most co-ordinated, together they make a well-oiled machine but they arent as well known/rich. they are allied with the S.B.I but nobody really knows why. they have a smaller ship with just the main crew on board.
S.B.I ship
captain- Ph1lza
quartermaster- techno
sailing master- wilbur
gunner- (also techno)
boatswain- tommy
A.B.S- ranboo
the S.B.I are well known and almost legendary amongst coastside towns and pirate pubs. theyre quite strong as a team, but tend to be un co-ordinated. although its rare that they need it due to the high amount of staff aboard the giant ship.
DREAM TEAM ship
captain- dream
quartermaster- sapnap
sailing master- george
gunner- ant
boatswain- bad
The dteam are super strong and another one of the most well known teams, theyre strong fighters and do great teamwork, using their brute force. theyre newer sailors and pirates but a force to be rekoned with
J.S inc ship
captain- schlatt
quartermaster- connor
sailing master- sneeg
gunner- minx
boatswain-charlie
the JS incorporated team is very rich, but a much weaker team. they will not shy away from dirtywork and will 100% rob you at any given chance. one of the only ships in the area with lower class "slaves" (but not really) onboard
unnamed ship
captain- hafu
quartermaster- 5up
sailing master- fundy
gunner- punz
boatswain- tubbo
this is the newest ship in the area, its small and they havent quite figured out the hang of things, but theyre smarter than they look.

For DSAW Day 6: Side Pairings - Charlie x Oliver (as friends) Summary: Considering that Oliver's father murdered Charlie's, I headcanon they would have talked about it at some point. Tag: @distantshoresaw
Even in the midst of the chaos and confusion of the night, Oliver couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration of how quickly Mortemer’s pirate crew brought his vessel up to speed. The combined efforts of the Irish sailor and his twin companions saw the sails of The Intrepid catch the night winds with a snap, pulling them out of the harbour of Port Monarque before anyone could stop them. Their boatswain was more competent than any of his own, and they followed her like hatchlings to their mother, trying to keep up with her deft fingers as they secured lines. Every member of the crew knew their place, and Peyton had reclaimed hers at the helm as soon as she had changed out of her fine clothes.
“They’re heading east but we’re already losing them!” Mortemer called, lowering his spyglass. However, Peyton had already begun steering the ship east before Mortemer had said anything. For a brief moment, Oliver remembered the incredible story she had told him earlier that evening, about being from the future and the pull of the compass. As if she was a compass herself. But he quickly shook himself out of his reverie and delivered the last remaining orders to his crew as the chase began. He would return to those thoughts later.
Soon the ship was speeding into the night, with no one being certain of their course except Peyton. Credit had to be given to all the crew, especially the navy men who had not known Miss Bellamy long enough to trust her or her crew, yet remained dutiful to their lieutenant. Oliver felt a mix of emotions churn within him. He was proud of his crew, some of them he had trained himself, some he loved like brothers, and was still in awe that they had chosen to turn against their Admiral for him. For him, for a bunch of pirates. It went against everything they probably stood for, yet here they were.
Oliver found Mortemer’s quartermaster below deck. He had seen almost no women sailors in his life, as they were not allowed on board navy ships (although Oliver had always made it a point to allow his crew to bring their wives on board if they didn’t want to be apart), but Charlotte Smith was the epitome of the reason why he had always found that rule ridiculous. She was a force of nature, who moved about the ship as if it was a part of her. Despite all the jesting and banter between her and the other pirates, they clearly deferred to her.
But now in the dim light of the oil lamps, she seemed so small and fragile, leaning against the wall near steps leading up to the deck. Her face was strong and fierce, yet there was a melancholic, faraway look in her eyes.
“Miss Smith?” Oliver said, as he approached.
Charlie looked up with a start, as if noting his presence for the first time. She gave him a small, tired smile. “Hullo navy boy. I’ll be right with ya, just give me a moment.”
“I’m not here to get you back to work,” Oliver said. “The crew is doing a fine job and the ship is already travelling as fast as she can.”
“Aye, we’ve told you time and again we are the best damn crew in the Caribbean,” she said, flashing him a grin. It disappeared quickly. “Then why are you here?”
Oliver swallowed. “I’m here to apologise. And to offer my condolences. What my father did to yours…”
Charlie waved it off as if swatting away an insect. “You are not to blame, navy boy. You’re more than making up for it by helping us take him down.”
“Still, I promise I’ll do what I can to set things right,” Oliver said. “When this mission is over, I will give an account of what happened in Port Monarque and ensure your father’s legacy is preserved.”
Charlie shrugged nonchalantly. “He’s a right old bastard.”
But Oliver remembered her strangled gasp and muffled sobs and knew she cared more than she let on. It must’ve shown in his face, for a heartbeat later, she sighed. “But thank you, Oliver.”
He nodded. They stood there in silence for a moment, before Oliver spoke again.
“You were quite a force at the ball tonight. Your charm and wit outshine many aristocratic women I’ve met.”
Charlie laughed. “Don’t tell me you’re falling for me now, navy boy. Peyton would never have it.” At the look on Oliver’s face, she laughed again. “Come now, I’m just teasing you.”
Oliver offered a tight smile in response. He had half a mind to return to the deck, where he was likely needed, but a part of him still felt guilty. And while the rest of the crew was too preoccupied with keeping on the Admiral’s trail, Charlie was, at the moment, alone in her grief.
“The housekeeper, Dorothea, is quite fond of you,” he said. “She told me how she raised you after your mother was… removed from service.”
“My father didn’t want a scandal,” Charlie said. “But I assume you would be familiar with such a situation, lieutenant, considering you’d likely have friends as fancy as my father, if not fancier.”
“Have you tried searching for her?”
“Of course I have.”
“I would like to help, if you would allow me. My position here in the navy could give me leverage and it’s the least I can do.”
Charlie raised an eyebrow, her gaze roving over Oliver’s face. Unsure what she was searching for. Hints of insincerity? Empty words to try to get her to lower her guard? But whatever for? Oliver had long proven he was on their side, and he had a score to settle with Edward, not her.
“I have my own contacts across the Caribbean and am already well into my search, but thank you for your offer. I appreciate it,” Charlie said. “How about you tell me a little about your mother? Must be quite a woman to put up with your father.”
For a moment, Oliver floundered. The subject of his mother had been long buried, like a pirate’s treasure, and at first, he couldn’t quite find the words.
“She was… a good woman. I don’t think she fully understood how much my father craved power.”
Charlie studied Oliver in the dim light. “We have a lot in common, don’t we, navy boy? We both have rich aristocratic bastards for fathers who have high expectations of us, and we love the sea. We grew up with luxury, but chose to leave it behind.” Charlie laughed. She may have been raised as a servant in her father’s household, but had comforts some of the crew could never dream of.
“But we both chose very different paths.”
“Which are now crossing as we work towards our common enemy,” Charlie said. She straightened and moved closer towards Oliver, laying a hand on his shoulder. “I appreciate that you sought me out to offer some comfort from my grief, lieutenant. And I hope you will be able to detach yourself from your father’s deeds eventually. You’re not a monster like he is.”
Oliver swallowed, and nodded. “Thank you, Miss Smith.” He glanced briefly up at the deck, before turning back to Charlie. “And for the sake of our… friendship, I hope our paths would never have to cross again after this.”
Charlie knew what he meant. When the mission ended, her life of piracy would continue, and Oliver would return to the navy. He would continue to climb its ranks. He might be sent out after her in the future, not Mortemer. The silence was heavy between them.
“I’m thinking the crew could use both of us above deck,” Charlie said. “Shall we?”

Distant Shores, Ch. 3 AKA Life of Pi(rates)
What happened this week:
MC becomes way too invested in the pirate life way too quickly when they find out about Robert’s mutiny. Actually, going along with Robert’s plan might be an easier way of snatching that magic compass, but as usual, we gotta have a Mary Sue MC.
Where’s Edward, you ask? Running to find him in the tavern to warn him about the mutiny. Oh, there’s Edward, conversing with the mutineer. How did he get back so quickly, and without spotting us on the way too? That’s a secret they’ll never tell.
Take a walk with Edward and tell him about lots of crazy things, like how you’re from the future (they’ve been to the Moon!) and how Robert’s planning a mutiny.
Find a job on the ship, a gunner, sailor, or a boatswain, because you’re a Mary Sue and are perfect at everything. It’s cool that we can choose. Hopefully it comes in handy in the future.
Learn swordfighting with swordfighting experts either Charlie or Edward, because stage fighting just won’t cut it.
While looking through Edward’s funky spyglass, you see through time. Suddenly this time traveler business isn’t so ridiculous to me anymore. I’m glad they added this element because if it were just coincidental that MC fell through time, I probably still wouldn’t like the idea as a whole.
Edward, that idiot, wants to go up against a Man-O’-War, the most powerful ship in the whole navy, a ship that could take down smaller ships in one volley, a ship overflowing with a crew, with his own ragtag motley crew of, like, ten people. Sorry man, but Robert’s right. You’re an idiot. Like I said, I know my pirate shit.
Robert takes action and draws his sword against swordfighting expert Edward in his “long-awaited” mutiny.
Thoughts:
MC is way too comfortable with the fact that they literally travelled through time. I’m surprised they haven’t heaved over yet.
Oh, if only MC could be a villain for once and totally backstab some people or something, just to get what they need (i.e. that compass). Getting into everyone’s good graces once again will be the death of me. But I have been asking for a villain MC since the beginning of time! The Heist: Monaco did an excellent job with this, even if it wasn’t full-fledged villain.
If LIs like Charlie, and Edward, and such were villains too, then I would not hesitate to go Dark Side. Case in point. We need a villain book, PB!

I feel like the low-hanging fruit of a prompt to give you is something around the canonical presence of the Franklin Expedition in TMA lore. Everchase fic?
[GRABS THAT FRUIT AND SCURRIES BACK UP MY TREE WITH IT BEFORE U CAN EVEN BLINK]
also i picked my 3rd favorite franklin expedition boy as the main dude here :3c and this isn’t terror-centric so much as it lines up with MAG 133!

Tom doesn’t understand what possesses the men he sails with. Some of them have such a want; such a craving and a desire that he cannot fathom, what with his simple daily tasks and basic training. He sees it, sometimes, when he’s tying off ropes or painting or tarring. He sees their hunger, spies it when they look out at where the sea is caked in ice, threatening the end of a cold summer. Out beyond the grey mountains and glaciers, the knife points of broken ice, the strange creatures, the dancing lights that curtain the stars, he knows they see the Northwest Passage. They see it so clearly that they’re blind to what’s in front of them now.
He sees a job. He sees chores and things that years in the Navy have taught him to do.
Of course, he also wants things. Everyone does. Tom wants to make it through the expedition in one piece, whether it end in the Sandwich Islands or England if they have to turn tail. He wants to collect his double pay, count it out from his hands to his mother’s, and feel safe and warm again before the next set of sails and ropes entices him back to the sea.
And once, he wanted adventure. He wouldn’t have had the thought to sign onto Erebus if there wasn’t some part of him that craved it. It didn’t capture his senses the way it does for some of the men, but there was a thrill that ran a gauntlet through his heart when he saw something truly strange, like the auroras or the twirled horns of narwhals peeking up through the ice. Sometimes, he would eagerly run down to the orlop after his watch ended and pen out a quick letter to his sisters, his brother, his mother, or his cousins—just hurried observations of the Arctic and how different it was from Gillingham.
He wanted adventure. The past tense is deliberate and fierce. He wanted, because the only reason it was ever in the present tense at all is now buried under six feet of frozen gravel some two hundred miles north. If he must want something presently, he wants his brother back from the dead.
No, he doesn’t understand the men who seek the Passage like hounds on a scent. What’s the use of wanting something you’re not meant to have?
- - -
They freeze in for the second summer in a row. The sun kisses the horizon, pressing rosy lips to grey shale and pink ice—then draws back up into a powder blue sky to wink above them.
That’s when people start to disappear.
First, it’s Sir John. He dies in June—or so Tom’s told. He apparently dies in the night, long after the dog watches take place. Captain Crozier tells the men that they’ll be burying Sir John right away, but Commander— no, Captain Fitzjames’ face is fixed peculiarly when the announcement is made. Dreadfully ill, Crozier tells them. He can’t be seen.
It doesn’t make sense. Many of the ABs echo the sentiment, but the mates and lieutenants are quick to quash their concerns. The burial is hasty, committing a simple wooden box to the gravel with only a large stone to mark the grave itself. This strikes Tom as stranger than all the Arctic’s oddest traits combined. His brother, a lowly able-bodied seaman, was afforded more decorum than Sir John Franklin.
More disappear after that. Fairholme and Osmer apparently die on a hunting expedition. Aylmore, Goddard, and Kinnaird aren’t far behind, disappearing into that sun-soaked horizon with only whispers left behind.
Reddington makes the oddest display before his disappearance; honestly, he’s the best hint to Tom that something very, very strange is happening. The night before he goes missing, he wakes half the ship up with a maniacal laugh, practically screaming in pure incoherence before Lieutenant Le Vesconte drags him into the Wardroom, presumably to calm him. Le Vesconte opens the door only once to ask for Captain Fitzjames and a glass of brandy before he shuts them both in and the screaming starts again. All Tom can catch is the howl of, “It’s there! It’s there! I’ve seen it!” before Fitzjames arrives.
The next morning, Reddington is gone. Fitzjames says he broke loose and ran off after the second dog watch, presumably having gone mad.
A few days later, Crozier says they’re going to abandon ship and begin a long walk south.
- - -
The craving begins in September, Tom thinks.
If there even is such thing as September.
In his mind, it’s The Craving, titled like a book. In this book, he thinks the plot would be about men so far gone in their hunger that all the humanity in them decays to nothing, leaving them crazed husks searching for the impossible. At this point, what with men falling into the stones and dying halfway through the descent, he feels they shouldn’t be like this. They should be tending their wounded and ill, making camp more often. But The Craving is in Crozier’s eyes, dragging them further and further towards… something.
Tom doesn’t think they’re looking for the Passage anymore.
He follows along, as he always has. Ever the seaman, now ever the AB, following orders from a boatswain with lips scarred from his whistle freezing to the flesh and tearing away.
Then, The Craving gets carnal when their last food stores begin to dwindle. Tom barely notices, watching as if in a dream as the man who used to be Daniel Arthur cracks marrow out of a bone, greedily clawing it out of the hollows with his frostbitten fingers. He eats like an animal, and stops only when they begin to move again.
Tom doesn’t eat with them. Every time he thinks of it, his mind plays some terrible trick. He thinks of John, entombed in ice and rock, emaciated and torn open like an animal was the one who pried his ribs from his body, and not a surgeon. He thinks of what John’s marrow would taste like, and imagines his brother watching him, eyes unfocused behind the mists of death, jaw unhinged in that silent scream of a corpse—judging him.
Tommy, he thinks John would say. Always stealing off my plate, huh?
He doesn’t eat. When the hunger saws at his stomach with iron teeth, he bites his hands, his lips, the wool from his coat, the copper-tasting metal of his buttons. He swallows snow until he vomits.
And somehow, impossibly, he lives on.
- - -
There are no days.
No weeks.
No months.
Maybe years, but Tom’s stopped counting.
There are only steps, one after another. There are bloody footprints thousands of miles behind them. They abandoned the sledges back in the snow and gravel, leaving useless cargo and a trail of broken bodies. Men still die, but there seems to be no real reason why they do. Tom should have been dead… ten? Twenty? Fifty years ago? He can’t remember. All he knows is that he’s still walking, following behind Crozier and Fitzjames and a dwindling party of men still dressed for the Arctic weather.
They’re in a desert.
Surely they should have found the Passage by now? Tom thinks this as he sees a lizard scurry up a strange plant, spiked like a well-used pincushion. The sun bites his blistering flesh, scrapes its glowing teeth along the back of his neck. Still, he’s never felt the need to take off his slops. There’s something comforting about the What Was, after all.
Why is he here? He doesn’t Crave the way the others do. They always talk about the Passage. It’s over that hill, surely. It’s along this river. If we just walk over there, it will be within sight. He knows it won’t be. It never is.
So why does he walk?
Because you Want, something tells him. It’s a deep, odd thing set in his soul, prone to ring out when struck like a bell, reminding him that he Must Always Walk.
For what?
For the Wanting, it says. And what do you Want, Thomas Hartnell?
Somewhere beyond a flat-topped mountain the colour of blood and bile, he thinks about that question. What does he Want?
He wants his mother to kiss his forehead and tell him good night. He wants Charlie to take apart their father’s pocket watch and put it back together, just in time to proudly show it to Tom. He wants to hear Mary Ann sing old shanties while she kneads dough on Friday morning. He wants to sit at the base of an apple tree while Betsy throws down the fruit, giggling as she does so.
He wants John to come back from the dead.
He wants to go home.
And Home is over that next mountain, says The Craving. Tom looks up at another blood-red mountain, the winking sun pressing a kiss to the slant of its neck. Don’t you want to see it again? Gillingham? Kent? The River and the Sea?
Of course he does, but it isn’t—
Well, maybe it is.
So Tom Wants, and he Craves, and he Walks.

I don’t really keep up with the Hollyoaks cast on Twitter but I’ve seen some things said about Lysette on here and on Twitter, that seem to pertain to Rachel’s statement, can you tell me what’s been happening?
It all seemed to kick off when Lysette responded to a fan on Twitter saying that she would respond to Rachel’s statement from a place of compassion and fact, rather than giving a knee jerk reaction. I can’t recall the exact wording as Lysette has now deleted her account.
A few days later, Charlie Clapham (Freddie Roscoe) shared a screenshot which appeared to be of a Hollyoaks cast group chat. Someone had commented that they’d mistakenly thought that Charlie and Amanda Clapham (Holly Cunningham) were siblings. Lysette said something about it being an easy mistake to make because they’re both ‘traitors’ and ‘bitter’ (both had publicly supported Rachel). She then said that if this stuff kept being brought up, they (the current cast) wouldn’t have jobs to go back to.
Rachel responded to Lysette’s comments by calling her ‘trash’ and I also saw Jacqueline Boatswain (Simone Loveday) and Duayne Boa (Zack Loveday) call Lysette out on Twitter too.

✨ ✨ ✨ for your death and taxes s/i? (Apologizes I can't remember their name ;-; )
no worries!! thank you for the ask!
✨ Charlie’s design used to have a stitched-shut eyelid but that seemed too gruesome, then an eye patch under glasses but that looked too clunky, so now they just have the eye patch.
✨ the entity growing in the abysmal archive is canon to the game, it’s something mentioned in the prime curator’s dialogue if you got the borehole quiz drink, but the idea that it bestows loop awareness if you behold it is something I made the fuck up because I thought it worked for Charlie’s backstory.
✨ their concept came about because I was disappointed that there weren’t any new characters added in a ng+ so I came up with a shop assistant for Mortimer that only makes themself known if you’ve already gotten one ending

seen some s/i valentines on my dash and it's not v-day in my time zone anymore but better thirty minutes late than never
left to right, top to bottom: boatswain charlie (death and taxes), ash lucas (slenderverse), zwanzisch (deltarune), dr. pierce glenn (hlvrai), rigoletto faust (neoscum), just my usual sona for the sake of having an even number of pictures
all of the s/i pics are made in kisekae. i forgot rig's glasses and couldn't find anything to approximate pierce's stubble but eh.

@dissonantyaoi inquiring minds want to know: what exactly is charlie and cerri's deal?
i don't talk much about their dynamic but they're good buds. they have a lot of Service Worker Commiseration going on in their interactions. also they keep unwittingly getting matching haircuts.
i kind of see cerri as being a slightly younger entity than fate and the prime curator (and by extension charlie since they were the vice curator) so i feel like they knew of charlie to some extent before the events of their backstory but they never knew them well enough to make the connection between the missing vice curator and mortimer's new assistant who doesn't come around the den often.

🌟 IDK ANY D&T CHARACTERS SO JUST pick one that isnt fate that you think is funny :]
idk why my mind immediately went to herbert for this...i feel like it's very seldom that charlie and herbert are in the den at the same time but when they see each other the banter is unreal. just immediate "hey kid shouldn't you be swabbing the deck right now?" "nah but if you keep that talk up i might have to pull some weeds". all affectionate it's just that herbert's main way of engaging with people is Insults Of Affection and charlie gives as good as they get
