jackalope jar! I've been really into making/practicing jars lately- i love that they have two components of making the base and then the lid and i can't help but turn them into weird little guys (usually animals).

i'm def of the opinion that all pots* should have feets and not just the normal, functional ring foot that keeps the pot off the kiln/from sticking to it (you wax the ring to keep glaze off it so it has a base to not stick to the kiln- look at the ceramics in your house, you'll notice they have some version of this where a bit is just the raw ceramic with no glaze)- no i mean real actual cute feet!

Anyway I've been experimenting into adding more sculptural elements to my pots/handbuilding to thrown stuff, and this pot just screamed MAKE ME A JACKALOPE! so here it is. tbh if i'd pre-planned the glazes, I probably would have gone wolpertinger with it (since i ended up with a white glaze) but whatever. An idea for the next one. I used the wax resist on this to keep the underglaze (black/white) on the eyes and mouth, as well as the honey luster on the eyes/antlers. The rest is glazed in a glaze called "stoney matte". this will be available for sale in my shop soonish *really all inanimate objects are better with weird little animal feet

Thinking about being a pretty little bunny caught in the claws of two big bad wolves…

They both cram themselves inside the same hole – fucking you rhythmically alongside each other with your smaller body pressed between theirs.

Sharp claws dent your flesh while canines fully split it open – imprinting on your fragile skin unforgivingly deep – leaving it to bruise and gush with blood the moment they spill the last of their big weighty balls inside you – both at the same time.

And after knots unknot and stiff thickness deflate – turning soft before slumping out of your abused hole – you’re finally allowed to rest in a mixture of bitter-sweet relief. 

Gratefully accepting their long-awaited finish – you slump against the sweaty chest before you with the face of your cheek smushed tight against the soothing warmth – hole fluttering numbly around nothing with the ticklish feeling of hot cum slowly trickling out only to go cold in the air.

Their sounds turn soft with a loss of growls and sharp teeth, and the one behind you places a kiss on your cheek, telling you that he’s proud – his breaths heavy and damp against your skin while he rests his sweaty forehead and slick mane softly against you. 

Both of them hug you gently – pressed tight between them – and slowly work on retrieving some semblance worth of strength while caught in the hefty crash of rapture – bodies ablaze yet steadily cooling with hearts halting in their sporadic run – dying down into slow thuds, draining until they’re both just two heaps of unwound muscles.

A couple of minutes more just like that and one of them leaves you with a groan while other begins lazily kissing and licking you in aftercare – his warm tongue laving gently over the brutal lovebites they’ve left on your otherwise pretty skin – whispering soothingly that he only wants to clean them up, so you don’t catch any unwanted infections. 

But his efforts of comfort don’t really help you keep from trembling or whimpering, nor do they help ease your erratic breath – where you sit between his legs, held tightly to his chest with both his thick arms wrapped effortlessly snug around your much smaller waist.

He's in charge of getting you cleaned up and dressed while his partner preps dinner – you hear the wolf downstairs with pots and pans while the one he’d left you with pulls you into a white babydoll – helping you stand where you wobble with hips aching upon every little move. 

He tells you that you're the cutest, making you yelp when squeezing your cottontail before picking you up like a wounded animal – as though you're incapable of making it down the stairs alone.

The stench of dead animals oozing from the kitchen makes you queasy more than hungry – but your captors, on the other hand, easily work up an appetite with the taste of your blood still fresh on their teeth. 

The thunderous sound of their stomach rumbling is all too much to keep you from crying – despite the warning you’d received the last time you’d created too much of a fuss for them – when one of them had forced bits of meat down your throat, making you chew and swallow it all one torturous bite at a time until you’d finally learned your lesson, willingly opening your mouth for him despite flinching and crying at the unnatural stomach-twisting taste. 

He'd seemed somewhat sorry seeing you throw up for days from both disgust and indigestion – and had since tried making up for it by preparing proper meals catered to your diet.

You were happy to see the medley of leafy greens and baby carrots plated for you on the dinner table, averting your eyes from the massive medium rare steaks the two dogs loudly and hungrily started cutting into – lop ears flinching upon the clash of sharp knives crashing hungrily against ceramics – trying to withhold the whimper when seeing the mixture of blood and grease roll down their chins along with the unsightly view of their sharp teeth tearing through tendons as effortlessly as if it were nothing but the same grass on your plate.

Fruit for dessert is nearly enough to lift the nausea while the three of you snuggle on the couch after dinner. Or perhaps you’d just gotten used to it – they always get lazy after eating after all – and cuddly.

You lie on top of one of them, your back against his broad chest – lifting with the rise and fall of his beaths. The other lies on top of you again, on his belly. He tells you to scratch his ears, and you don’t dare refuse him.

He moans when you rub on the tip between your small fingers – resting his head atop your heart before starting to drool, small growls ever-present in his snores. His tail lifts and slowly starts wagging in drowsiness as he gives the inside of your ear a ticklish lick – making you cringe and whine.

The one beneath you rests his chin atop your head, chuckling at the two of you – and you really wish you could get used to how the growl in their chests rock your ribs and how their mouths reek of death. Desperately, you try to focus on the smell of bleach and flowers – the ones they’ve bought and brought home to you when trying to distract you from the grocery bags held behind them – chock-full of bloody bits they stock the meat locker with. 

That would be your worst nightmare, you unwillingly think, shuddering at the thought as if consumes you – to be locked up in that room – you’re only glad they’ve yet to think of it as a punishment.

Sometimes you wonder if they’re planning to eat you at some point. You’re certain they understand they can’t successfully breed with you – so it wouldn’t make sense for them to keep you forever, even though they swear to it when you sleep squished between their bodies in the middle of the bed with their massive paws and sturdy claws latched onto your supple flesh.

It's impossible for you to ignore what they are when the whole den has hints of rot lingering in the air, and you don’t think you’ll ever be able to let go of the fear. But at the same time… you can’t really deny their love entirely either – not when they rub their snouts into your neck so lovingly, cuddling you tight as though protecting you from any harm, grooming you with their own tongues ticklish against your skin and fur, thoroughly leaving their print and scent on you, fully claiming you as theirs.

rafe in the spring time would consist of weekly trips to the farmers market. he’d be so bored, “we have a chef for that.” but after you gave him a few smacks to his bicep, he lightens up. even helps you pick out the best looking fruits and vegetables, carrying your basket with his big strong hands.

after a little more shopping around, you guys head back to tannyhill. a small elderly woman had convinced you to buy matching ceramic pots for plants. you beg rafe to spend the afternoon painting them with you.

“let me see yours!” you whine. you had finished painting little flowers and a bunny on yours a few minutes ago and rafe was taking foreverrr on his.

“almost done. have some patience, brat.”

when he finally turned it over, you gasped and he let out a huge laugh. it was a drawing of two stick figures kissing. one had massive boobs and the other had an over exaggerated penis. you rolled your eyes. “all that effort and that’s the best you came up with?” you asked.

he shrugged his shoulders. “c’mon! it’s funny!”

before you could roll your eyes again, you heart softened at the sight of your initials + his at the bottom of the pot. you smiled and hugged rafe’s head against your chest. “aw rafey!” you tease, knowing he hated but secretly loved the nickname. “you’re so cute!” you press a sloppy smooch against his cheek.

“alright, alright, that’s enough,” he grumbled. but deep down inside, he was happy you were happy.

there was an array of young flowers tucked between the glossy leaves, warm paper lanterns guide you through the maze of flora. there’s water colored butterflies sipping the nectar of your favorite flowers, the scent of honey and earth soothing your nerves. bi-han has gifted you a greenhouse. considering the fact that the lin kuei palace contains lots of open land to train on — it was fitting to add something less grueling and tense. he directly thought about you, encased with delicate, floral pieces as you beam at the variations of flowers and other greenery you always mentioned during your afternoon walks. it started off with short nods, listening intently to your frantic words with amusement. then he’d silently gift you engraved pots filled with young flowers and all the needed tools to build a lively collection of plants. that didn’t seem enough. the grandmaster always had urges for something more, something greater, that he also applied it to you or rather, your fondness over flowers. since the freezing climate wasn’t so fitting for sun enriched plants, constructing a greenhouse would be fitting and also, fulfilling for him to do in secret. it was hard work to pull it off. there were times you nearly spotted it in the middle of its development and your suspicion towards bi-han’s sudden interest in flora made him sweat icicles, but it was all worth seeing your radiant smile in the end. for now on, he’ll find you within the maze of bustling blossoms — individually nurturing them with love and care and amusingly talking to the clusters of flora like little children. at that the thought of your happiness, he smiled under his mask.

the parchment felt light and airy in your grasp, but much more of them were tied with a silk string — each individually sealed with set red wax, blotches of little lighthearted notes and tea stains smudged along the handcrafted envelopes. they smelt faintly of sweet herbs and dried ink. kuai liang has gifted you a collection of love letters. it all started when he met you, his usual writing was put off for his lin kuei duties, leaving the pens to dry off and the stacks of parchment to pile dust bunnies. then your gentle presence gave him a boost to write small notes in the middle of the night. the adorning look you would give him would make him write paragraphs with such ease, leaving a shade of blotched blue all over his palm. then your contagious laughter and assuring gaze made a mountain of neatly crafted love letters in the corner of his usual tidy room. along the ink read his first impressions of you, the beautiful details that you missed about yourself, lengths of innocent admiration, and millions of confessions about how much he loves you. each letter had little surprises tucked between the pages. a frail cherry blossom petal when you both first trained together. colored origami animals that you spotted during missions. he kept them all as a sign of his love — dedication towards you. watching you carefully unfold himself with gentle hands, he safely locks the image of your big grin and droplets of joyful tears in his memory for another love letter.

the glimmering of delicate light reflected over the bare walls, adding a pretty iridescence on the wallpaper. clashes of soft yellow, with pastel greens and pinks made your skin twinkle under the sun. the silhouette of a dainty butterfly floated through the air. tomas has gifted you a sun catcher. the warm village of fengjian had pockets of small businesses. crowded bookstores, fragile porcelain shops, and fresh produce stands. he didn’t have any personal feelings towards these stores, rather he wanted something more personal — made with his own hands and heart. that’s when he finds a workshop filled with dozens of personal projects, unfinished ceramics and even glass bracelets. then he eyes a mesmerizing piece, a sun catcher. it reminded him how you seem to unintentionally fill every room you’re in with light, how you always impressively shined through the bitter ash of his magic — winning every spar between the two of you. the process of making a sun catcher was meticulous, melting down metal small rods together, inserting colored glass with clear precision but with very nervous hands. tomas finishes off the butterfly piece with a string of patterned beads that he collected when you both visited different villages. a crescent moon dangling at the end to represent him — your opposite, your midnight protector. there’s instant relief when you beamed ever so brightly at your handcrafted gift. he helped you hang it by your window, the glimmer of reflection blinding the both of you for a second. then he sits with you, explaining the meaning of each individual bead and glass — while your smile brightens the whole room.

im curious as to about how long each of your pieces takes?? it took me two class periods to be satisfied with the pinch pot we just made in ceramics class (though that’s probably also because im very much a perfectionist) so i can’t imagine how long a whole critter would take

it really depends!! some of them (unpainted, simple shapes) take as little as five minutes; some of them (large, complex shapes with very detailed painting) take as much as 10 hours.

I have gotten way faster over the years, though, so don't think I'm just some natural genius! the skills of sculpting build on each other. Just last year it took me three hours to make a simple fox, and now I can bust out a really nice fox (with toe beans!) in two hours. it just takes time and repetition to get there <3

and hey congrats on being in a ceramics class!! I hope you have fun with it!! If you like critters, I recommend stealing some of the clay and making some kind of toadish blob out of it and firing it in the kiln, as long as your studio masters won't get mad about it. the joy of making a lumpy little guy is unmatched.

examples of sculpture + time counts below the cut!

Little guys like this tiny cicada, which is a design I've done so many times that I can make them on autopilot, are in the 5-15 minutes range to sculpt. bunnies, chickens, wizards, and mini-cats are like that for me too!

but if I add the time it takes to paint them, even simple sculptures can end up taking much more time—for instance, this starry chicken took only five minutes to make but about an hour to paint.

then when you get into the more complex shapes, those can take a lot of time—this anthro coyote took me 3 hours to sculpt because it was a complex shape AND I was unfamiliar with making anthros so I was learning as I went:

and when you add complex designs to complex sculptures, you end up with projects like this peach-tree bear, which took three hours to make and five hours to paint, so that's eight hours in one sculpture:

and eight hours is about my limit for sculptures I'm going to sell. BUT. when I'm making things for myself, I'm willing to spend even MORE time on them to make them perfect for my own tastes. I tend to spend the most time on fanart sculptures—it takes a lot more time to make a sculpture perfectly on-model to a pre-existing character than it does to make up a whole new thing. So the sculpture that has taken me the most time so far in this batch is this JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fanart sculpture, Star Platinum:

three hours to make the body, seven hours to paint him—Star has taken me ten hours total so far!!

Not sure if you're asking for headcanons or offering headcanons, so just in case I will initiate both:

Do you have any Omori headcanons (I love this game so I'm asking about it specifically)?

Here's one of mine: Kel and Hero are good at seeing through each other. For example, Kel can tell when Hero is being a people pleaser and knows how to help him take care of himself as well :]

If Basil had a pet, it would be a meat-eating one so that they didn’t eat his flowers, though also a small one. Basically he would have a skink or gecko as a pet.

Hero’s college is at the same city Sunny is moving to, so he gets to reconnect with Sunny as an older brother figure. (And Hero also helps Sunny with studying).

May have already said this, but Aubrey LOVES petting zoos. Her favorite animals are the bunnies and alpacas. She and Sunny go to the petting zoo on their dates. Sunny’s favorite animal there are the donkeys, he just thinks they’re neat.

Hector is a therapy dog and he helps out Hero and Kel by being a good boi, and is also very protective of Sally. Hector is also a Shiba Inu.

Kel secretly sews and embroiders clothing as a hobby in his attic. The attic is filled with many fully to half-finished plushes, blankets, and clothes. Sally mysteriously finds herself with cool drip and blankets from an unknown person.

Sunny decides to do pottery and ceramics as a hobby and even potential future profession, taking inspiration from headspace in designing these pots. He also gifted Aubrey a ceramic bunny.

I'm Learning To Be Bad At Things In College

Yesterday, I was in ceramics studio, trying to make cylinders on the throwing wheel. This is my second week (fifth day) of throwing clay on the wheel. I am miserable at it. My fingers don't know where to go, how hard to press, they slip on the clay, my hands slip out of alignment with each other, I am just newly able to center the clay well enough to keep it from wobbling itself to death. And the professor said to make three five-inch-tall cylinders as best as we could, by class next Tuesday.

I was miserable.

I didn't want to be there, my cylinders were coming out terrible, I made the wall of one too thin and it collapsed on itself... I'm not good at throwing. I wanted to give up. I made three terrible cylinders, gave up on the idea of making more, and cleaned up my station—that part was satisfying, I can clean a station, I sponged off the wheel and then it was clean.

Then I went and painted my sculptures for two hours, because I felt bad about failing at throwing, and painting sculptures makes me feel happy. I'm good at making sculptures. I earned that skill years ago. My fingers know where to go to pull out an ear from a bunny, to stroke an isopod's shell into position. They know the exact pressure to use on stoneware to mold it and finger-polish it into an elegant little animal. And painting the sculptures is a little echo of that, a glorification of the bodies I've already made. Painting the sculptures confirms: I made this. The animal's naked form is good for painting. The paintbrush goes over its curves with pleasing fluidity and pokes into the little corners, precise, gentle, leaving behind beauty.

I know I practiced for years to get good at sculptures but I was really upset about the throwing.

Then I walked out of the building, walked back in because I forgot to cover my terrible cylinders, which for some misguided reason the studio is firing, and called my dad. He's a potter. He throws pots. We have a million of his mugs and bowls in our house.

I said, I'm going to get a bad grade on my cylinders.

He said, it took me a year to throw anything worth keeping.

A year. A whole year. No wonder I felt so terrible about my cylinders. They're not worth keeping. I knew that. But it took my dad, an incredibly dedicated artist, an entire year of throwing to make anything worth keeping, so... of course my cylinders aren't good. Of course my fingers don't know where to go. I'm new.
