Celestia Ludenberg is Autistic, here’s why.

So I literally just wanted to make a headcanon sheet but I got distracted and accidentally wrote an essay.

So, here you go

Celestia is autistic. Here’s why.

First, Special interests: Gambling and European nobility. Everything she does in-game and in the gambling rings is to support her dream of living in a big castle with doting servants like a European queen. She’s also shown bringing up her gambling crusades many times, implying fond memories and genuine enjoyment of the game.

She loves talking about her stories and is ruthlessly blunt and rude to Makoto sometimes, saying things like, “You have proven you are roughly as intelligent as an elementary school student,” even when she is pleased with Makoto’s answer to her questions. However, despite her apparent hostility and disrespect towards Makoto, she still thinks that she and Makoto are becoming friends, as we see in free time event five, when Celestia says, “Look how quickly we have become close friends, Makoto.” Makoto even questions this statement, showing how much her prickly attitude seemingly put him off. Despite this, it’s clear Celestia likes him, as she never disputes his presence in her free time events and often invites Makoto to play games with her.

She’s constantly trying to share her gambling interests with Makoto, offering to play games with him that she would win in a heartbeat, and seems irritated and confused when Makoto doesn’t seem enthusiastic about playing a losing game, implying difficulty understanding his emotions.

She tries to make a joke in the sixth free time event that Makoto doesn’t receive too well, but judging by the delivery of the joke it wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment joke but something Celestia genuinely found funny. The context of this is when she invites Makoto to her room to talk to him about Makoto moving up to ‘C-rank’ (we will talk about her ranking system a little later), and she makes a joke about ‘getting results back’ about her being pregnant with Makoto’s child. She then immediately follows this up with, “oh, wait, wrong results.” implying it was a joke. Makoto does not find this funny, and Celestia quickly moves on with the subject without missing a beat, implying it was a practiced joke.

She’s shown repeating her name to herself in freetime event three, probably enjoying the verbal stimulation and the excitement she gets from her adopted name, the name that connects directly with what could be considered her special interest: European nobility.

She struggles with friendships and understanding what friendship means. So she starts ranking people into categories instead of bothering to figure out who likes her and who doesn’t. She chooses to only care what she thinks of them instead of what they think of her, thus the ranking system. She mentions she’s never found an A or B rank, implying a struggle to make real friends or a misunderstanding of what real friendship is.
