Work In Progress
It shouldn’t be a secret to anyone that I am a Chuck E Cheese fan, especially with the existence of @lus-corner although that blog’s been kind of dead lately
I had watched some CEC content on YouTube and after I had seen 2 videos in particular that were speedpaints of people drawing some of the characters I wanted to draw some of them as well
More specifically the ones from the early days
I decided that I wanted to do Crusty the Cat first since he’s always been my favorite out of the retired characters for multiple reasons; he’s a cat, he seems to be the anxious type, and most interestingly he was the first character to be retired, being replaced very early on by Mr Much though he was mentioned by a purple reverse speaking Chuck in the Halloween Hijinks special in 2022
I wanted to make this into a “What if older characters were brought back in the modern day”
From what I’ve grown to understand from many, many CEC videos Crusty had terrible bad luck which always made me think of Jack from Vivziepop’s Zoophobia comic which is why he is there as an inspiration
I had the idea of having the tail look like it was missing fur between the base and tip in the sketched lines but I decided that I’d go with a shorter tail whenever I done the cleaned up lines
It does still look like he had his tail chopped off so it works
I might fall asleep and then finish whenever I’m up

Immigrate To Canada As A Nursing Co-Ordinator Or Supervisor: All You Need To Know
Thousands more jobs for nursing co-ordinators and supervisors are forecast to open up in the coming seven years than there will be people to fill them, a situation rife with opportunity for qualified foreign nationals to gain their permanent residence here through occupation-targeted Express Entry system draws.
“For nursing co-ordinators and supervisors, over the period 2022 – 2031, new job openings arising from expansion demand and replacement demand are expected to total 23,100, while 21,800 new job seekers (rising from school leavers, immigration and mobility are expected to be available to fill them,” reports the Job Bank job-hunting and career-planning website.
“The labour shortage conditions seen in recent years is expected to persist into the 2022 – 2031 period.”
Driving the need for nursing co-ordinators and supervisors during those coming years is the aging of the Baby Boomers.
“As the Canadian population ages, the demand for health services and consequently the need for healthcare professionals is projected to increase,” notes the Canadian Occupational Projection System (COPS).
“In addition, the commitment made by some provinces to reduce wait times in emergency rooms, for treatments, and for surgery is expected to contribute to the increase of labour demand for workers in this occupation.”
With Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) changing Canada’s Express Entry system to allow it to target 82 jobs in healthcare, technology, trades, transport and agriculture this summer – including nursing co-ordinators and supervisors – it opened the door to a new pathway to immigration for them.
The flagship Express Entry selection system had previously only conducted draws based on immigration programs, not by targeting specific occupations.
Ottawa made the changes to help resolve serious labour shortages in Canada.
“Everywhere I go, I’ve heard loud and clear from employers across the country who are experiencing chronic labour shortages,” said then-Immigration Minister Sean Fraser.
“These changes to the Express Entry system will ensure that they have the skilled workers they need to grow and succeed. We can also grow our economy and help businesses with labour shortages while also increasing the number of French-proficient candidates to help ensure the vitality of French-speaking communities.”
Across Canada, the Indeed.ca job-hunting website listed 378 jobs for nursing co-ordinators and supervisors in mid-October.
Job Bank gives its highest rating of very good to the job prospects for nursing co-ordinators and supervisors across the entire country with the exception of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island over the next three years. In those two Atlantic Canadian provinces, Job Bank ranks these workers’ job prospects as good.
The website pegs the median hourly wage for nursing co-ordinators and supervisors in Canada, categorized under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 system with the code 31300, at $43.06 but that varies from a low of $25 right up to $54.
Based on a standard, 37.5-hour work week, that means these workers can expect to earn up to $105,300 per year.
Candidates hoping to immigrate through Express Entry occupation-targeted draws need at least six months of continuous work experience in Canada or abroad within the past three years in one of these occupations to be eligible, experience that can have been gained while working in Canada as temporary foreign workers with a work permits or as an international student with a student visa.
Provinces Have Already Been Holding Occupation-Specific Draws For Years
Under the changes announced at the end of May, the Express Entry streams, including the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program, Federal Skilled Trades (FST) program and Canadian Experience Class (CEC), as well as parts of the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) are now more responsive to labour market needs.
Canada first signalled its intention to start occupation-specific draws through Express Entry in June last year, when changes were made to the Immigration, Refugee and Protection Act to allow invitations based on occupations and other attributes, such as language ability.
The majority of Canada’s provinces have been issuing occupation-specific invitations for several years.
Under the changes to the act, the immigration minister is required to consult provinces and territories, members of industry, unions, employers, workers, worker advocacy groups, settlement provider organizations, and immigration researchers and practitioners, before announcing new categories.
IRCC must also report to parliament each year on the categories that were chosen and the reason for the choices.
Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) says the number of occupations facing shortages doubled between 2019 and 2021. From 2018 to 2022, federal high skilled admissions accounted for between 34 and 40 per cent of overall French-speaking admissions outside Quebec, which manages its own immigration intake.

IRCC holds first Express Entry draw of April
More ITAs have already been issued in 2023 than the whole of 2022.
Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued a total of 3,500 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates in an all-program draw. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score was 486. In an all-program draw, candidates are considered from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
This draw follows three consecutive Express Entry draws in which 7,000 candidates were invited. The most recent draw on March 29 also saw the lowest CRS cut-off score since December 2020, at 481.

IRCC Holds First Express Entry Draw of April
IRCC has held another Express Entry draw.
More ITAs have already been issued in 2023 than the whole of 2022.
Last November, IRCC introduced its most ambitious Immigration Levels Plan to date. The plan outlines immigration targets for permanent residents across all lines of business over three years. This year, 82,880 will obtain permanent resident status through Express Entry, rising to 114,000 a year by 2025.
An Unprecedented Month for Express Entry
March was an unprecedented month in Express Entry’s history. IRCC issued 21,667 ITAs over four draws. This was the second-highest monthly total since Express Entry was launched in January 2015. The record for most candidates invited in one month was set in February 2021 when IRCC invited 27,332 candidates in a single draw targeting Canadian Experience Class candidates.
Today’s draw follows three of the second-largest Express Entry draws to ever occur. The first was on March 15 when 7,00 candidates were invited with a CRS score of 490.
Typically, Express Entry draws only occur every two weeks on Wednesdays. However, the next draw took place just over a week later, on March 23, and IRCC invited another 7,000 candidates with an even lower CRS score of 484.
Another 7,000 candidate draw (for candidates with a minimum CRS score of 481) took place on March 29. This adds up to 21,000 candidates invited in three consecutive weeks. The remaining 667 candidates were invited on March 1 in a draw targeting only candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program.
PGWP Extension Available as of April 6 The large all-program draws may be beneficial for candidates in the CEC, many of whom have been voicing growing concerns as their Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWPs) are set to expire shortly.
To assist PGWP holders, immigration minister Sean Fraser recently announced that effective April 6, PGWP holders are eligible to apply for an 18-month open work permit extension.
PGWPs are a one-time open work permit for international students who graduate from a post-secondary institution in Canada. If a candidate’s PGWP expires before they receive an ITA, they are no longer eligible to apply for permanent residence. It can be expensive and time-consuming to find an alternative work permit or obtain a visitor record.
Between November 2022 and February 2023, few CEC candidates received ITAs due to a six-week unplanned draw pause followed by four program-specific draws that did not target CEC candidates.
What is Express Entry? Express Entry is an application management program that was established in 2015. It was developed to objectively evaluate high-skilled economic immigrants based on criteria such as occupation, work experience, age, language ability, education, and other human capital factors. These factors are ranked and scored using the Comprehensive Ranking System.
The higher the CRS score, the more likely a candidate is to receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence.
Once a candidate receives an ITA, they have 60 days to submit their final application to IRCC. An officer will then evaluate the application and decide if the candidate is approved for permanent resident status.

Express Entry candidates suffer due to an IT glitch - Aptech Visa
After the implementation of National Occupation Classification 2021 the express entry system has been facing IT glitches as per the sources from IRCC revealed. This is also inclusive of candidates in PNP.
No timetable has been provided for these resolutions, despite the fact that the IRCC claims that the department is carefully studying these problems and working to fix them. As new information becomes available, the IRCC promises to update the candidates.
In the most recent Express Entry draw, some candidates who weren't qualified earned ITAs.
The IRCC is aware that the system may sometimes tell clients they meet the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Qualification Criteria (MEC) even if they have insufficient Canadian work experience.
Several ITAs were improperly distributed to applicants during the round of invites on November 23rd, including some PNP applicants.
It appears that the system problem has also affected PNP candidates trying to update their Express Entry profiles to reflect NOC 2021.
Some Express Entry profiles cannot get ITAs because of the fake code 93888. To guarantee that these candidates may still be evaluated under NOC 2016, IRCC created this fictitious code as a workaround.

There was no Express Entry draw
It is unknown if the missed Express Entry draw last week on December 7 had anything to do with these IT troubles.

IRCC was contacted by CIC News to learn what the system malfunction might mean for applicants going forward and when Express Entry draws will resume.
All-program Express Entry drawings resumed in July of this year after an 18-month break starting in December 2020. Since draws resumed, the IRCC has been inviting candidates on Wednesdays every two weeks.
Candidates expressed their annoyance on social media after the anticipated draw on December 7 did not occur.
To date, draws have taken place on Wednesdays, but there is no law that specifies how often or when they will take place. As a result, IRCC ministerial guidelines specify that draws will occur "approximately every two weeks". It is completely within the discretion of the IRCC.
With each draw, Canada has extended invitations to more applicants. Since July, eleven draws have occurred. 4,750 candidates were invited to the most recent two draws on November 9 and November 23.
With CRS scores of 557, 1500 applicants were selected for the first draw on July 6. The most recent CRS score was 491 on November 23, and since then, it has decreased with each draw.

NOC 2016 officially became NOC 2021 on November 16, 2022, according to IRCC.
Candidates for Express Entry who are NOC 2016 skill types 0, A, or B must have job experience in those categories. The Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) system has been implemented as part of IRCC's transition to NOC 2021.
By replacing the outdated NOC system with a new NOC and Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities (TEER), the Canadian government will be able to achieve four goals: better understanding of the Canadian labour market; improved occupational forecasting; better analysis of national labour supply and demand; and more targeted and specialized job training and skill development for Canadians and foreigners.
Candidates who had already submitted a profile to the IRCC Express Entry pool were invited to individually change their NOCs to the new NOC 2021. Every position (job) listed in the IRCC profile has to have this change done. Candidates won't be eligible for an invitation to apply if they don't comply with this requirement (ITA).

In The Most Recent Draw, The Express Entry CRS Score Dropped To 496.
The CRS has not dropped below 500 in an all-program draw since December 2020.
On October 26, Canada held its most recent all-program Express Entry draw.
This is the ninth draw since all program draws were resumed on July 6.
Invitations were sent to 4,750 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 496. Candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class may receive invitations to apply (CEC). These programs all utilize the Express Entry architecture.
Canada Express Entry Points Calculator
Beginning in December 2020, all Express Entry program draws were suspended for a period of more than 18 months. Throughout the hiatus, invitations to apply were only sent to those who qualified for the CEC or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) (ITAs). The draws had to be postponed due to a surplus of applications brought on by restrictions on travel caused by the coronavirus. In September 2021, the IRCC also stopped holding lotteries for the CEC.
Express Entry Latest Draw:
The CRS has never dropped below 500 since drawings resumed before this draw. The previous time the score fell to this low was on December 23, 2020, when it was 468. After that draw, all-program Express Entry draws were suspended to avoid adding to the backlog of applications for Canada permanent residence.
It is clear from the eight previous drawings that IRCC can issue more ITAs by lowering the CRS score because the number of candidates rose while the number of applicants continuously decreased.

Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025 is scheduled to be implemented soon.
The Immigration and Refugee Council of Canada (IRCC) releases a new plan year each year that details the goal number of immigrants that Canada wishes to receive over the following three years. The statistics are further divided into categories of immigrants and programs that are linked. By 2022, the Immigration Levels Plan sought to add 55,900 new permanent residents to Canada through Express Entry Canada. Up until now, Canada has accepted slightly more than 28,000 new Canadian permanent residents through its Express Entry programs between January and August 31. Another Immigration Levels Plan is anticipated to be delivered by November 1 of this year.
What is Canada Express Entry?
The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) all use Express Entry Canada as their candidate for the board structure. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is currently eligible for anything akin to one of these schemes in the Express Entry pool.
The profiles of candidates are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), a point-based system used by Canada Express Entry. The Invitation to Apply (ITA) is extended to the candidates who scored the highest; following that, they may submit an application for permanent residence in Canada.
Alberta PNP Points Calculator
Once the applicant submits the application, an IRCC representative reviews it and determines whether to sponsor the applicant. If this is successful, the applicant will then be a permanent resident of Canada and will have taken a step toward attaining Canadian citizenship.
Statistics Canada recently released the “Immigration Selection Factors and the Earnings of Principal Applicants” study, an update of the 2015 investigation that had a substantial influence on the creation of the Comprehensive Ranking System.
Canada PR Points Calculator
The study examined the variables that had the greatest short-, medium, and long-term impacts on the incomes of newly arrived permanent residents of Canada. It was shown that education, prior work experience, and language ability continued to be important determining variables. The most significant influence on a person’s attitude toward their financial status was found to be employment experience prior to landing, particularly that acquired in Canada.
It is anticipated that the upcoming Express Entry Draw would take place on November 9, 2022.

Canada drops its CRS to 491 in the recent express entry draw - latest update
In the eleventh all-program draw since July 6, the CRS score is declining. Canada's most recent all-program Express Entry draw was held on November 23. Invitations were sent to 4,750 applicants with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 491, according to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). A number of programs seeking qualified applicants sought qualified applicants, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. Express Entry is at the heart of all of these initiatives.
Express Entry draws for all programs were suspended for more than 18 months in December 2020. In light of COVID-19-related travel restrictions, the draws have been postponed. Only those people from the CEC or Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received invitations to apply at this time. However, the IRCC also stopped doing draws for the CEC in September 2021.
Similar to the two draws that took place on November 9 and October 26, this one has the same number of ITAs. With each round, the CRS score continues to decline by two or three points.

Updates are necessary for candidates for Express Entry under Canada's new NOC system.
On November 16, Canada adopted the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021.
To get an Invitation to Apply, Express Entry candidates must update their profiles with the updated NOC 2021. There are now six categories of Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER), and four-digit codes have been changed to five-digit codes.

"Skill levels" have been replaced with what is referred to as TEER categories in the NOC 2021. TEER categories 0, 1, and 2 have replaced skill levels 0, A, and B.
There are 16 new occupations that are eligible for Express Entry, and three occupations are no longer eligible.
