HELLOOO

Hello and welcome - for the ones who ended up on that post! My name is Noélie, I am a Swiss Art Director and I realized I was happy when drawing and creating funny concepts.

In mid-2017, I decided to quit my job in advertising to travel for a year and start doing illustrations for real, under the project Le Paradoxe. I like to tell the stories of life’s quirks and simple pleasures that resonate with people. My work is often personal, or motivated by things that happen to someone who knows someone who knows someo… ok, I guess you got the idea. I’m inspired by tasty food, nature, encounters and life. The whole sprinkled by a touch of poetry mixed with a hint of irony.

But, Le Paradoxe is more than illustrations: it’s a creative multiverse — because I’m interested in many artistic mediums and would like to do so many things in the near future. It’s a mix between illustrations about the magic and weirdness of life, photography about the ordinary, fun arty projects and soon happy-gifts objects. Basically, it’s all about life.

Day 25 Henry Thomas Sampson Jr Henry Thomas Sampson Jr. (April 22, 1934 – June 4, 2015) was an American engineer, inventor and film historian who created the gamma-electric cell in 1972 — a device with the main goal of generating auxiliary power from the shielding of a nuclear reactor. On July 6, 1963, he was awarded a patent, with George H. Miley, for a variation of the gamma-electrical cell, a device that produces a high voltage from radiation sources, primarily gamma radiation, with proposed goals of generating auxiliary power from the shielding of a nuclear reactor. Additionally, the patent cites the cell's function as a detector with self-power and construction cost advantages over previous detectors. February 22, 2023 The Creative Multiverse presents: Celebrate Black History month. Day 22 Billy Dee Williams William December Williams Jr. (born April 6, 1937) is an American actor. He appeared as Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars franchise, first in the early 1980s for The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), and thirty-six years later in The Rise of Skywalker (2019), marking one of the longest intervals between onscreen portrayals of a character by the same actor in American film history. He is also known for his advertisements for Colt 45, a malt liquor, for a five-year period starting in the mid-1980s; he would reprise his spokesperson role in 2016. Williams brushed off criticism—for the subtext of the ad campaign, 'works every time,' and the target audience—of the choice, "I drink, you drink. February 21, 2023 The Creative Multiverse presents: Celebrate Black History month. Day 21 George Washington Carver. George Washington Carver (c. 1864 – January 5, 1943) was an American agricultural scientist and inventor who promoted alternative crops to cotton and methods to prevent soil depletion. He was one of the most prominent black scientists of the early 20th century. While a professor at Tuskegee Institute, Carver developed techniques to improve types of soils depleted by repeated plantings of cotton. He wanted poor farmers to grow other crops, such as peanuts and sweet potatoes, as a source of their own food and to improve their quality of life. The most popular of his 44 practical bulletins for farmers contained 105 food recipes using peanuts. Day 20 Nance Legins-Costley Nance Legins-Costley (c. 1813–1892), born Nance Legins Cox, an African American, was the first slave legally manumitted (freed) by attorney Abraham Lincoln, in 1841, twenty years before the start of the American Civil War. Nance was an African-American female slave who managed to have her case appealed to the Illinois Supreme Court three times before Lincoln successfully argued for her freedom, using the same Jeffersonian principle. Lincoln later signed into law “… that Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall exist…” in the state of Illinois and later in the entire United States and its territories. May 27, 2022 Folklore Month Oude Rode Ogen (Old Red Eyes in English), also known as the Beast of Flanders and The Necker and The Nikker (but Oude Roge Ogen is not aquatic) in his human form, is the Belgian Boogeyman (or Boogeydog). He is a bad-tempered giant black dog with red eyes, sharp teeth, the speed, intelligence and strength of the Dire Wolf who is feared for his uncontrollable anger, especially to misbehaving children who stayed up way too late past their bedtime. He haunts Flanders, Belgium staring from the late 17th Century and early 18th Century after reports of children turned up missing and believed to be victims of a cannibalistic shapeshifter. Witnesses claimed of seeing a large naked black man running away after trying to steal a young girl from her bed, he was shot at and seen to change into a large black dog. A homeless black man was soon found living near Nekkerspoel and without trial was lynched and skinned alive. The skin is said to be buried in the basement of St. Rumbold's Cathedral in Mechelen. During the early 18th century till present a ghostly dark figure with fiery red eyes has been seen in Mechelen and surrounding areas. It is said that he seeks his skin to become whole again as the demonic figure he once was. May 18, 2022 Folklore Month Mothman In West Virginia folklore, the Mothman is a humanoid creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register, dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something". May 23, 2022 Folklore Month Momo Momo the Monster, also known as the Missouri Monster (Momo), is a purported ape-like creature, similar to descriptions of Bigfoot, that was allegedly sighted by numerous people in rural Louisiana, Missouri in 1972.
