"I Heard You Paint Houses." Here's a close-up of a recent illustration I worked on, it's based in the realm of classic mafia violence. I had reference but it didn't fit a modern aesthetic. I shot reference photos of classmates and myself to amplify my initial idea and get closer details to have fun with. There was multiple versions but the slide to the right is the initial thumb after curating how the final may play out. The final version is cropped but it shows a chance to saturate areas and draw attention to how your eyes choose importanceof items in the scene. Luckily, Irishman came out this year and gave me a good name for this piece. So much good cinema came from 2019 that was heavily violent but was extremely impactful and intriguing for audiences, including me. Such as Joker and Uncut Gems.
