Starting off proper, the two don't change their interactions too much, excluding little gestures to each other- like Heatwave leaving flowers on her porch and then hiding when she comes to collect them (despite both of them knowing full well who left them "There's a security camera on her front door, 'Wave!" "So?")

They spar more often because Quickshadow insists on helping Heatwave get back to full strength after his injury and corresponding coma (By no means do either of them let the other one win)

They still tease and mock each other, but it's now undertoned with a gentleness and affection that the others are just as likely to tease both of them about.

Intro thingy??

Hi, I go by Astro. I'm a fanfic writer over on AO3 and Wattpad. I purely write TFRB and RBA related stuff.

I was invited to join Tumblr by @cayennesugar! (Thank you!! I had no idea what I was missing out on)

She mentioned there were a few people on here who've read my books, ((If that's you, I know I neglected you for months- please forgive me)) so I thought I'd post these little sneak peaks of the next chapter of my book, Back To You. Enjoy!

“..sooo, what do you guys think?” Whirl’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts. Colorful paper scraps were displayed on her portion of the screen and made up a visual of the Rust Sea, with two silhouettes, presumably Whirl and her sire, walking servo in servo along the shore.

“That looks great, Whirl!” “Looks just like the real thing.” “Impressive!” the others praised.

“Nice wo-….I like the…..” Hotshot rambled on about the cool 3-D effect of the paper water but was quickly cut off.

“Uh, Hotshot, you’re breaking up.” He could just about make out Hoist’s voice through the radio static. “..h-old..on..” He angled his datapad up at the ceiling. “Ca..n you….hear m..now?” His camera cut off for a split second before returning with horrible graphic quality; his voice was barely audible over the static and sounded distorted.

“uhh..kinda?” Wedge shrugged. “Negative,” Medix shook his helm. Hotshot’s video feed started to laggily shake as he shook the device and gave it a few slaps. “..How about now?” he asked, static finally lifting.

“Yeah, that’s better.”

“Huh.. that’s never happened with the other one,” he muttered, giving the datapad a once-over before dismissing it as a one-time bug.

Unbeknownst to him, across the hall, his Carrier glared at a static screen, typing tirelessly to stabilize the newly forged connection as she waited for the Prime to answer. Seconds turned to minutes, and the buzzing didn’t let up. Growing anticipation fueled her anxiety. Why wasn’t it working—?

"Is something wrong with your dinner?"

Hotshot reeled back from his thoughts and realized he'd been staring at his plate all this time. "I guess I lost my appetite." he meekly shrugged.

"I thought you said you were hungry."

"O-oh, right. I..was?" he gulped, tugging on his helmet in embarrassment. "I..uh-"

"You know you can tell me anything, sweetspark." His breath hitched at the warmth of her servo on his.

"What's on your mind?"

He blinked at her, his big blue optics, wide with apprehension met with her usual calm blues that instantly soothed his nerves.

His dermas trembled, he couldn't hold it any longer. He needed to know. The burning question he'd been bottling up since he was seven finally slipped his glossa.

"Why don't you ever speak about my Sire!?" He winced at how harsh it came out.

Her soft gaze had flashed with utter shock, and Hotshot was quick to notice. The same hurt and lingering sentiments resided in them just like they had all those years ago and elicited a strong feeling of deja vu.

That same suffocating regret he felt when he was 6 flooded his entire being. What had he done?

Baby Quickshadow headcanons!!

Inspired by @cayennesugar 's Quickshadow baby art

She was a daddy's girl and she would do anything to be in her sire's servos,she loved her carrier too don't worry

She was a very lively and energetic baby even if now she's very serious and composed

She had a little bunny that was actually bigger than her and she would sleep with it,she still has it now,hidden in a drawyer or something

She wouldn't sleep without a pacifier and her plushie

She was born at 7 months because her carrier was close to lose her,almost a miscarriage do to stress.She was in the hospital for 2 months and the medics said that she won't survive,well she's here today!

She was a really small baby and that made her twice adorable like if her parents went to relatives or something,their optics would be only on Quickshadow

Her carrier took videos of her trying to walk while talking in baby language,it was cute.Heatwave couldn't really believe that this cute little baby is his badass girlfriend

The only ones that Quickshadow tolerates are Heatwave and Cody,if you hand her to Blurr or Blades she would start screaming

Blurr stole her plushie as a prank,it didn't end well.Quickshadow cried for 2 hours straight in Heatwave's servos till Blurr admited that he stole the plushie and gave it back to her.Heatwave gave him a punch after that-

Dani dressed her up and played with her since she was pretty small

The bots were really worried for her due to her height,then they discovered that she was born way earlier so they felt kinda sorry for her

And I suppose that's all!

"It'd better, Blades. I'm tired of winding up where I'm not supposed to be. Let's be fortunate it's only been somewhere within our reality."

"Hey, we're the first people in the universe to try to make an untraceable spacebridge via inter-dimensional energy from a middle-world plane. Sue me if there's been some... Mishaps." The air mosaic sat on his knees as he overlooked the crescent-shaped machine in front of them, the center presently swirling with glittering stars and purple smoke trailing out onto the floor. "Give me a break."

Heatwave took a deep breath and then tried to relax his shoulders. "...You're right, I'm sorry... It's just-"

"Trust me, Heatwave... I know..." Blades' face fell from its own irritated expression, shifting to one of sympathy for his older brother. "...The last four months have been Hell for you."

They had been Hell. Letting his wife and child go- for their own safety- and being separated from them across dozens of galaxies had been the hardest thing he'd ever done in his life. He'd called them almost every day, and would have visited long before now, if not for what was going on back on Cybertron. The High Council had banned all spacebridge activity, monitoring whoever tried to step through without government clearance.

Heatwave had no such clearance- According to cybertronian files and records, he had died years ago, and there was no such thing as a 'resurrection certificate.' Not enough bots had managed that feat to warrant it.

If he showed up through one of the sanctioned spacebridges, security would be looking for his ID number and clearance card, and would assume he was some decepticon spy posing as a dead bot. So the only solution? They had to build their own, and they had to do it in a way that the frequency when active wouldn't be picked up on their sensors, which required a slight detour into The Mist realm to cloak its location and connection.

It had taken four months for Boulder and Blades to figure it out and build it- also talking to trustworthy bots on the other end to make their own connecting portal generator. It would only be linked between the two- at least, that had been the plan. This was the first time Blades was fully convinced it wouldn't sent Heatwave to Hong Kong- That was a long story to explain to some rice farmers!

"Okay, test it out. Go see your pretty femme on the other end." Blades announced as he stood up. "Happy trails!"

"Famous last words, Blades..." Heatwave looked back at the portal, and then sighed, taking a step, then another, then another. The mist swirled about his feet, smoke and glitter creeping through the nooks and crannies of his armor. It was only for a moment, but then it faded, and he looked around to find a matching crescent behind him as he stepped forward, and the odd but identifying smell of freshly-laid cybermetal. "Ha! Finally... Took those two long-"

"Heatwave...!"

"...Darling!"

"My strong, faithful fire engine...!"

"My exotic, incomparable paradise...!"

They held to each other for what seemed like forever, peppering each other with kisses and whispering sweet nothings into each other's audio receptors... Until their son began to fuss.

"Oh, of course, Hotshot. Yes. Let's go somewhere we can catch up proper..."

It's my 20th birthday.

Making friends was never a strong suit of mine, as evident by the fact I did not have friends throughout elementary school. I was that weird kid that no one wanted to hang out with. It wasn't until middle school when I met the start of the Caseus group that I started making friends.

Hundreds of people in person and online have entered and left my life since then, with few remaining consistent. While I still deal with the side effects of those several years without friends, I wouldn't change it for the world, given who I have now in my life.

If I could go back and tell my younger self, that we did succeed, I would. She deserves that assurance that everything turned alright.

Quickshadow is amazing the essay

Quickshadow is a Rescuebots character that appears in the show’s fourth season. She prefers to work solo and is absolutely perfect.

She’s obviously skilled in her craft and she knows it. She is confident and snarky but she’s also not a villain which I like. She’s not a braggart, but she doesn’t pretend that others are better at a job then her. The first thing she says to Heatwave when they first formally meet is that he is short. I didn’t really get why people shipped them together but some of what she does could be read as flirting (theirs an episode where she appears and when Heatwave asks why she’s back on Griffin Rock she says something along the lines of ‘I thought you missed me’ in a sarcastic tone). I don’t personally ship them but I see the appeal. Heatwave and Quickshadow have a very interesting relationship to me. I want to see them interact more because it’s fun.

When she was assigned to work with the rescue bots she seemed sort of upset when Blades said Heatwave didn’t like her (looking at her face she seems a bit more surprised) which I think is interesting. She doesn’t intend to offend Heatwave and probably wanted to be on good terms with him. She doesn’t do teamwork and seems to be introverted but that doesn’t mean she would be opposed to the idea of ✨friendship✨ and I do think that they would work well together, especially after the episode where she was put in charge. Teamwork is something that she did need to learn, but she still chooses to work on her own because that’s what she is good at and how she best works. She has her own system and I respect that. I also like that she wasn’t really an antagonistic force or rival to the rescue team. She was actively helping before she revealed herself and was teaching the team a lesson that they would need to learn eventually. Chase was prepared for the issue that arose when the plan went wrong and she was able to learn.

I absolutely love her transformation. It’s probably my favorite in the show because it does a good job of conveying her personality. She is quick witted and has a tendency to show off. She has a strong skill set and is well coordinated. I just really love the way it looks, it’s one of the smoothest bits of animation in the show. And her design is fantastic! She isn’t given boobs that would be out of place amongst the others and doesn’t have eye lashes or lipstick like other female transformers have had in the past. The main way you’d tell the difference in gender is her voice and the fact that the others use she/her pronouns when referring to her. Her head piece is also quite unique, the darker color contrasts nicely with her mostly white color scheme. I like the blue used for her as well, and I really like that she has her wheel on the right side of her car in vehicle mode because she’s British. She has a small amount of kibble that looks nice with the rest of her robot mode.

I like that she can manipulate her body to be able to gain speed, travel faster underwater, and even fly for short periods of time/slow her fall. She could 100% fight in a war and kick some ass. Not that the rescue bots are actually physically weaker from the other Cybertrionians, they handle environments much better than a lot of the autobots in prime. But that’s off topic. Quickshadow has one of like three fight scenes in the show. She takes on a temporary mentor roll to Blurr and Salvage but doesn’t like it because they are special. When she races Blurr she wins not because she’s faster but because she was smarter (which is a lesson that Blurr would utilize in a later episode) and the way she talks to Optimus makes me think that she is known for this. Also her message to Optimus is one of the best ways to do a ‘last time on…’ it made me actually listen to it instead of just skipping over and it’s very engaging in my personal opinion.

Also she’s British

I like her a lot. She should be used in more stories as she has a unique perspective and skill set. I also just really really like her. Hasbro please make better toys for the rescuebots I will buy all your overpriced legacy figures if you just make more rescue bots.
