wtf 😭 yall just let people write what they want hello????
,,i love spencer so so much“
And then why are you writing him as allistic when he is canon autistic?
smells like projecting and ableism to me
🚨PSA to Fellow Writers and Readers🚨
So this lovely anon decided to drop by and accuse me of ableism for not writing Spencer Reid as “canonically autistic.” Because apparently, they have the authority to police how—not just me, but @aliteralsemicolon who also had the pleasure of dealing with this—portray a fictional character.
In case anyone needs a reminder, Spencer isn’t explicitly labeled autistic in the show. That means there’s room for multiple interpretations of his character. You want to write him as autistic? Go for it. But the moment you decide to hide behind anonymity to attack other writers for not meeting your standards? That's when you cross the line. It's disrespectful. Because here’s the thing—fanfiction is supposed to be a creative, open space where we can explore characters in any number of ways, including sex.
And since we’re on the topic, I genuinely want to understand, does the suggestion of him having kinks conflict with an autistic headcanon? From what I know (and I’m open to being corrected), autistic people are just as capable of having kinks and varied sexual interests as anyone else. I think making such assumptions about an entire group of people does more harm than good and erases the spectrum of experiences that real autistic individuals have.
Does that not sound like ableism?
With that being said, let me remind this to all writers: write what you want, how you want. No interpretation is more “correct” than another, and you are not obligated to cater to anyone’s guidelines. If you come across an anonymous comment like the one above or like these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
or the one @aliteralsemicolon received:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
where they start out respectful ("Not to be rude", "no offence", etc) and, it seems whether you ignore or answer, they will continue sending asks that get more offensive and hateful…
Do yourself a favor. Block. Delete.
And to all the anon critics out there, if you don’t like what someone writes, here’s a simple solution—write your own fic. Or don’t. Just don’t harass other writers because their vision doesn’t align with yours.
✨Be the change you want to see✨

Common sense is returning.
James Crisp, EUROPE EDITOR 13 April 2024
Tumblr media
Dr Hilary Cass said children who think they are transgender should not be given any hormone drugs at all until at least 18 CREDIT: Yui Mok
Belgium and the Netherlands have become the latest countries to question the use of puberty blockers on children after the Cass Review warned of a lack of research on the gender treatment’s long-term effects.
Britain has become the fifth European nation to restrict the use of the drug to those under 18 after initially making them part of their gender treatments.
Their use was based on the “Dutch protocol” - the term used for the practice pioneered in the Netherlands in 1998 and copied around the world, of treating gender dysphoric youth using puberty blockers.
The NHS stopped prescribing the drug, which is meant to curb the trauma of a body maturing into a gender that the patient does not identify with this month.
In Belgium, doctors have called for gender treatment rules to be changed.
Research into impact
“In our opinion, Belgium must reform gender care in children and adolescents following the example of Sweden and Finland, where hormones are regarded as the last resort,” the report by three paediatricians and psychiatrists in Leuven said.
Figures from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom show that more than 95 per cent of individuals who initiated puberty inhibition continue with gender-affirming treatments,” the report by P Vankrunkelsven P, K Casteels K and J De Vleminck said.
“However, when young people with gender dysphoria go through their natural puberty, these feelings will only persist in about 15 per cent.”
The report was published after a 60 per cent rise in the number of Belgium teenagers taking the blockers to stop the development of their bodies. In 2022, 684 people between the ages of nine and 17 were prescribed the drug compared to 432 in 2019, the De Morgen newspaper reported in 2019.
Pressure is also building in the neighbouring Netherlands to look again at their use. The parliament has ordered research into the impact of puberty blockers on adolescent’s physical and mental health.
Dutch protocol
The Telegraph understands that the Amsterdam Center of Expertise on Gender Dysphoria, where the protocol originated, is set to make a statement on the use of puberty blockers next week.
“I too thought that the Dutch gender care was very careful and evidence-based. But now I don’t think that any more,” Jilles Smids, a postdoctoral researcher in medical ethics at Erasmus University in the Netherlands, told The Atlantic.
Attitudes in the Netherlands have hardened against trans rights, with a bill to make it easier for people to legally change their gender being held up in parliament.
The Cass Review said that the NHS had moved away from the restrictions of the original Dutch protocol, and researchers in Belgium have also demanded those restrictions be reintroduced.
Belgium is regarded as one of the most trans-friendly countries in Europe. A minister in the government is transgender and people have been able to legally change their gender without a medical certificate for the past five years.
But the hard-Right Vlaams Belang party is currently leading the polls ahead of national and European elections in June.
It has called for “hormone therapy and sex surgery to be halted for underage patients until clear and concrete research has been carried out.”
‘Greatest ethical scandals’
In March, a report in France described sex reassignment in minors as potentially “one of the greatest ethical scandals in the history of medicine”.
Conservative French senators plan to introduce a bill to ban gender transition treatments for under-18s.
On Monday, the Vatican’s doctrine office published a report that branded gender surgery a grave violation of human dignity on a par with euthanasia and abortion.
Finland was one of the first countries to adopt the Dutch protocol but realised many of its patients did not meet the Protocol’s strict eligibility requirements for the drugs.
It restricted the treatment in 2020 and recommended psychotherapy as the primary care.
Sweden restricted hormone treatments to “exceptional cases” two years later. In December, Norwegian authorities designated the medicine as “under trial”, which means they will only be prescribed to adolescents in clinical trials.
Denmark is finalising new guidelines limiting hormone treatments to teenagers who have had dysphoria since early childhood.
In 2020, Hungary passed a law banning gender changes on legal documents.
“The import and the use of these hormone products are not banned, but subject to case by case approval, however, it is certain that no authority would approve such an application for people under 18,“ a spokesperson told The Telegraph.
In August, Russia criminalised all gender reassignment surgery and hormone treatments.

can't stop thinking about tommy still being with the 118 when buck joins / in the season 1 era. as if the 118 needed any more drama on top of hen's relationship issues, chimney's relationship issues (feat. rebar), buck's relationship issues (feat. tracheostomy, perhaps now also feat. tommy in some capacity but who knows), bobby's relapse and mental health crisis, athena swinging by every now and then to spill about her divorce, all the disasters ... adding freshly-reformed tommy trying to tiptoe out of the closet without anyone noticing or changing anything at all about anything would be absolutely wild. lives would be ruined. i think about it literally every day.

This is what makes fic authors deactivate and not want to write fics anymore. If you want more fics, write them! Reblog the fics you read. Comment on them. Leave notes (as in, actually take the time to write messages about the fics themselves)! Complaining about no new stories is just a sure fire way to make people not want to write anymore.
If you want new fics to read, maybe try write some yourself. Or better yet, go look at other sites. You’ll find something, you’ll live.
Also, kind reminder that these people are providing you entertainment for FREE. And on tumblr, we don’t get a ‘creator fund’ where every post that gets a certain amount of traction gets money. People are doing this because they find it enjoyable. Stop killing people’s light.
why tf is there no good fics anymore? LIKE IM TIRED OF READING THE SAME STUFF OVER AND OVER AGAIN😭

PRISON REHABILITATION RANT! (CONTROVERSIAL)
please read (with an open mind)
TW for the following:
• Prison
• Mental ill health/Mental illness/Mental disorders
• Personality disorders
• Depression
• Torture
• Self-harm
• Suicide attempts/Suicide
I really appreciate anyone taking the time to read this. I understand and accept the controversial nature of this post and the negativity or pushback I may (will likely) receive. But I really feel like this is an important conversation to have for those who will participate. Plus an important speech for those who will read it.
I will also have research backing points I highlight.
In the following video, a comedian briefly discusses her experiences working in a prison teaching basic life skills, alcohol and drug rehabilitation etc. It’s relevant to the topic but also adds humour to a dark subject so regardless of if you read the rest of this post or not it is a good watch.
youtube
ANYWAY…
Points relating to the video below:
We need more people like Tacarra Williams. We need her objectivity, her humanity, her non-judgemental approach. She recognises how to stay safe and assesses the situation for what it is, which is a dangerous one, I will not deny that for a second, she is at risk in that environment. But she does not treat inmates like they are less than.
Notice how she complimented an inmate's personally made shoes (funding for these things is a whole other conversation to be had) - she takes note of the little touches the inmate has added to maintain individuality, which is incredibly important in the system. Said inmate who initially had not been open to her arrival saw her recognition for him as an individual, as a human, and then became civil, dare I say friendly toward her.
Something else she briefly mentions is 'the hole' - this is a prison term used for solitary confinement. This is basically complete isolation, with the only ‘interaction’ being a food tray put through a slot. Alone in their cells, those in solitary confinement are subjected to 24/7 distressing noises and yells of other people in their isolation cells. Inmates are left in a cell for 23 hours a day and let out for 1 hour a day - if they're lucky, because prisons are understaffed and this cannot always happen due to maintaining safety of the prison staff and inmates. Solitary confinement is a procedure that is still used today and that is literally recognised as torture. It has been highlighted in Law and Order SVU, where Detective Stabler spends 24 hours in a cell and you watch his mental state significantly deteriorate. By the time his 24 hours are up he thinks he’s been in there for weeks.
Prison rehabilitation:
Here’s the thing; prison rehabilitation is so important, and recognition of inmates as human beings is paramount. If you dehumanise people and don’t give them the necessary skills for survival and progression, how do you expect to see any reform? How we are treated affects who we become. We know this. If we treat inmates like shit and don’t give them any tools for progression, they will not progress. Period.
If we can provide people with life skills, we can give them something to work towards, and we can watch them begin to thrive. As things are, they’re barely surviving. Inmates figure they have nothing to lose because we don’t give them any even small opportunities to succeed. Every now and then, we see carefully picked, trusted inmates' participation in programs that train service dogs. This absolutely highlights reform and the ability for inmates to change/grow. This particular program is beneficial both for the inmates and the public - the inmates have a goal (to train the dog), they have a friend (an animal does not have a judgement towards them), and those in the public (who require one) have the benefit of a trained service dog.
Mental health of inmates:
A majority of people who are in prison often come from difficult backgrounds and struggle with their mental health. (Pilgrim, 2001; Pagano et al., 2004; Bandelow et al., 2005).
Did you know that the most common mental disorder among prison populations was personality disorder(s)? (Fazel and Danesh, 2002). If people with personality disorders are treated with such a negative stigma in the general population, imagine the stigma faced in the prison environment. People on the outside are denied treatment for personality disorders; there is even an argument among some mental health professionals that personality disorders are untreatable, which is false.
Further studies also suggest a significant overlap between the legal system and mental health issues (Cramer, 2016) including depression and self-harm. Did you know between 2004 and 2009 there were an estimated 24,000 incidents of self-harm per YEAR? (Hawton et al., 2014)
Government assessment of mental health in prisons:
In 2017, a House of Commons committee looked at the evidence surrounding mental health in the prison system and found a lot of problems; their criticisms included: lack of assessment and screening, poor environment, lack of staff, lack of training for prison staff, problems with transferring prisoners with mental health issues to more appropriate care settings.
The BBC News highlighted these issues in visiting Wandsworth prison, where prison officers themselves describe the need to address mental health in prisoners. One officer recounts 8 instances of suicide attempts, and a successful attempt in 1994. He says that he can still remember the scene of the successful attempt.
Do the prisoners or prison staff get the support they need, or even the time of day to be seen to struggle? No. They’re left to suffer - why? Because it would cost the government money to rehabilitate prisoners and provide proper support to prison staff. Frankly, everyone in that system, on both sides, are left to dust.
Is any of this fair? Well, that's a moral question that's personal and down to opinion. The answer will obviously vary according to multiple factors, a case by case basis and personal life experiences. Whatever your answer, I hope these points at least give you something to think about.
Whether you completely disagree, judge me, give me backlash or even read all of or some of this post and then scroll past ignoring it completely, I really don't care. Because at the end of the day, someone needs to fight for inmates and prison officers, and it takes a particular type of person to do it. You may have the mindset of 'they choose that job', 'they put themselves in that situation' or 'why would they do that job/work with such terrible people?'. The answer to this can vary person to person: be it money, interest, belief in making positive change, wanting to make a difference, or simply because someone has to do it.
It's rare to see someone fight for the rights of people living and working in the prison system. This post and view will likely sour opinions of me, I accept that. But whether you like it or not and whether you agree or not, I'll be one of those people.
Thanks for reading.

Remus Lupin x fem!reader ♡ 1.3k words
You know Remus is reading when you get home, because he doesn’t call for you and you are not quiet as you come inside. You drop your keys while trying to hang them on the hook, your bag bounces off the chair you toss it onto and falls noisily onto the floor, and your body lists as you walk towards your bedroom so that you bump your shoulder into the wall not once but twice. Your entry is a series of clatters and crashes and clunks, and yet when you make it to the bedroom your boyfriend’s attention is glued to his book as though by hypnosis.
“Hi.” The word curves with the smile that takes you, tilting upwards. Remus looks up.
“Hi, dovey.” He blinks foggily, taking you in with your hip leaned against the doorjamb and your ankles crossed awkwardly. “How was book club?”
You feel your smile widen with delight. “It was great,” you profess. You aim for him, and Remus takes his book in one hand, holding the other out like he means to catch you. You land on the edge of the bed on your stomach, your feet dangling just above the floor behind you. “Everyone loved my banana bread.”
“A show of good judgment,” Remus hums. He reaches behind you, helping you get your shoe off. “Is there any left?”
One shoe comes free, and you let your foot fall back. “Mm, there was, but I left it for Maria.”
Remus stops messing with your other shoe to look at you disappointedly.
“I know, but she hosted! I had to be nice. I’ll make you another one soon.”
He sighs, but it’s for show. Your other shoe slides off. “Fine, I suppose since she hosted.”
“I knew you’d get it.” You pull your legs onto the bed and sit up, grinning at your boyfriend. He likes to play at selfishness, but you know he’d have done the same. Even if you’d asked, he would have told you to leave the bread. And he breaks easily now, returning your smile with one of his own. It feels like a warm tide rushing over you.
“Oh. I feel like I should also warn you, I had quite a bit of wine.”
Remus’ tongue presses into his cheek, a sort of outward-poking dimple. “Did you?”
A little,” you say coyly, looking at him through your lashes. “It was sparkling and really yummy, what was I supposed to do?”
“A valid point.”
“So that’s just your warning. You’ve been warned.”
“I will proceed with caution,” he assures you, a warmth to his voice. “What did everyone think of the book?”
“Oh.” You raise your eyebrows at him excitedly. “There was controversy. Big controversy. I super loved it, but a lot of other people thought it was the worst one she’d done so far!”
“Really?”
“Yeah. They made some valid points, but I don’t know, maybe I’m easy to please, but I didn’t care about any of that stuff as much as I cared that I’d had a good time reading it, you know? And then everyone was giving their rankings of her books, and there were just some really crazy choices. Some people thought her second one was the best!”
“No.” Remus manages to look upset for your sake, though he’s only heard about the books from you. “Did they really?”
Your smile blooms anew at his enthusiasm, and you feel, suddenly urgently, that you’re not close enough to him. You move into his lap, but that’s not good enough either. At this point, Remus is looking at you with a fond, bemused sort of intrigue. You must be predictable enough, because only a soft puff of laughter exhales him when you start to worm your way under his sweater.
It’s warm. You consider, for a moment, simply staying in there, with Remus’ chest and his smell and the sound of your own breathing, but ultimately decide you’d like to see him, too. You’d miss him too much.
“Hello,” he says, not unhappily, as you break the surface of his neckline.
“Hi,” you say back.
“To what do I owe this visit?”
You shrug. It’s an odd movement, one of your shoulders stretching his sweater while the other bumps against his chest. “I wanted to be with you. It’s quite nice in here.”
Remus only hums, tilting his head down to kiss your nose. It’s a slow, fond kiss, like he’s just decided to rest his lips there for a moment or two. It sends pleasant warm tingles from your face all the way down to your fingertips.
“What else did you talk about?” he asks.
“Hm?”
“In book club.”
“Oh. Well, not everyone there had read her other books, so we had to sort of get into the patterns and the things she always does. Some of it was routine for us, but totally unexpected for them, which makes sense I guess because…”
You go on in circles and loops that even you can’t keep track of, your mind lax and happy and your lips moving seemingly on autopilot. You talk about the book itself and the people you read it with, and about the girl who’d hosted and how she’d had the cutest dog you’d ever seen, and does Remus remember that time you went to the animal shelter and saw that adorable puppy? Well, you mean no offense to the puppy because he was very cute, but this girl’s dog is even cuter than that.
It’s an incalculable stretch of time later that you realize Remus has put down his book.
“Oh, my god.” You lean your forehead on his shoulder. When you close your eyes, you feel like you’re floating. You really must be worse than you thought. “I’m so sorry. You were trying to read.”
“Before you got home, yeah,” says Remus, his tone indulgent, “but now I’m talking to you.”
“Yeah, because I won’t shut up because I’m all drunk,” you lament. “I know how annoying that is.”
“Hey.” Your boyfriend’s voice is tender. “Who said anything about that? I’m not annoyed.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m sure, sweetheart. Why would you assume that I was? I love talking to you.”
You try to look up at him, and your nose bumps his chin violently. “Oh.” You try to draw back, but there’s nowhere to go. You’re confined to the neckline of Remus’ sweater. One of your hands snakes up to touch clumsily at his chin. “Shit, I’m sorry.”
Remus tsks, his own hands coming on either side of your face to hold you still. “Don’t worry, I’m alright. Are you?” He runs a thumb gingerly over the bridge of your nose.
It’ll probably bruise a little tomorrow, but that’s not something you’re going to tell him tonight. “Yeah,” you say meekly. “Thanks for dealing with me. It’s really nice of you.”
“Oh, don’t,” he shushes you, pressing another gentle kiss to your nose. “I’m not being nice, sweetheart. And you’re not something to be dealt with. I love looking after you; it doesn’t cost me anything to do it.”
You try to shrink down inside his sweater, and Remus tsks.
“Tell me this, if I was blackout and legless, would you mind chatting with me and taking care of me?”
“I’m not blackout drunk, Rem.”
“For argument’s sake, let’s say.”
You press your lips together, not wanting to concede the argument but your answer categorical. “No.”
“Right, because you’ve done it before.” Remus looks at you with equal parts kindness and knowingness. “And were you annoyed with me then?”
You’re almost offended he’d ask. “Of course not.”
“I see.” His tongue pokes into his cheek again, lips quirking slightly. “Seems like that sort of thing might go both ways, no?”
You push your face into his neck and sigh hard into his skin, making a little sound bubble up in his chest that sounds suspiciously giggle-esque.
“You don’t always have to be right, you know.”
“I usually am, though.” He wraps his arms around his own front, giving you a squeeze. “Best settle into that fact, dovey. It’ll make things much more efficient for us both.”

WARNING Flashing IMAGE and HYPNOTIC COVERT language
Inductions
Hypnosis, a fascinating and complex phenomenon, has captivated human interest for centuries. It's a state of focused attention, heightened suggestibility, and vivid fantasies. People often think of hypnosis as a deep sleep or unconsciousness, but in reality, it's more about a trance-like state where the individual is actually in heightened awareness of suggestion. Often used for therapeutic purposes, hypnosis can aid in various issues such as stress, anxiety, pain management, and certain habits like smoking. However, it's not a magical cure-all; its effectiveness varies from person to person.
Hypnosis can also be a form of entertainment, where stage hypnotists perform shows that demonstrate the power of suggestion. Despite its many applications, hypnosis remains a subject of debate among scientists and psychologists. Some view it as a powerful tool for mental health, while others caution against its potential to create false memories or its use in recovering memories, which is a controversial area within the field. It's important to approach hypnosis with a critical mind and understand that it's a complex interplay of psychological and physiological factors. If you're considering hypnotherapy, it's crucial to seek out a qualified and certified professional to ensure a safe and beneficial experience, someone like me.
You find yourself reading these words and as you read they seem to take on a life of their own, almost like magic. Your mind slows as you red larger more complex words and you may feel a soft tingle of arousal as you FOCUS on my words and feel dreamy. It's quite fascinating how the complexity of words can influence our cognitive processes. When we encounter larger, more intricate words, our brains need to work harder to decode the meaning, which can sometimes slow down your reading speed. This isn't necessarily a bad thing; it allows for deeper processing and understanding of the messages I am pushing softly into your mind. It's easy to relax and follow the words you read. It's easy to feel dreamy as your mind accepts that it wants to drop deeper.
Dropping deeper feels good, as you touch yourself and keep reading you can let go of any inhibitions or control. it's so easy to sink into a light trance, after all entering a light trance can be a simple, yet profound experience. It's a state where the conscious mind takes a step back, allowing the subconscious to surface and express itself more freely. This can happen during various activities that engage the mind in a repetitive, rhythmic manner, such as listening to music, meditating, or even during a long drive. In this state, people often find their thoughts flowing more smoothly, their creativity heightened, and their stress levels reduced. It's a moment of introspection and connection with the inner self that can provide clarity and insight. While in a light trance, the mind filters information differently, prioritizing internal dialogue and sensation, which can lead to a deeper understanding of one's thoughts and feelings. It's a natural and accessible state that can offer a respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and a gateway to greater self-awareness.
You are not even aware of how deeply into the trance you are, your fingers stroking your arousal for me as you read and feel a dreamy warmth spreading from your fingers into your whole body. Aware but unaware that you could stop at anytime, but you don't want that, you want to keep reading and sinking deeper and deeper as you feel arousal growing more for me. It just feels so good to give in, the very act of giving, whether it's time, resources, or kindness, has a profound impact on your well-being. It transcends the material value of what is given and touches the very essence of human connection. When you give, you're not just passing on a physical item or a piece of advice; you're sharing a part of yourselves, creating a bond that reflects your shared humanity. This act of generosity can be deeply satisfying, as it often brings joy and relief to others, which in turn enriches your own life. It's a beautiful cycle of positivity that reinforces the best parts of being a good submissive.
Giving has been shown to activate regions in our brain associated with pleasure, social connection, and trust, creating a warm glow effect. It's no wonder that the phrase "it's better to give than to receive" has resonated through the ages. This isn't just a moral suggestion; it's backed by science. Studies have found that giving to others can increase our happiness more than spending money on ourselves. This might be because when we give, we feel a sense of purpose and meaning, knowing that we've made a positive impact on someone else's life.
Moreover, the act of giving doesn't have to be grandiose to be effective. Small acts of kindness can ripple outwards and have unforeseen positive consequences. Just as a pebble creates waves when thrown into a pond, a simple gesture of generosity can spread far and wide. It's the intention behind the act that matters most, the recognition that even the smallest offering can make a significant difference.
In a world that often emphasizes individual achievement and accumulation of wealth, it's important to remember the value of generosity. It's a reminder that our interconnectedness is a source of strength, not weakness. By giving, we acknowledge that we are part of a larger community, one that thrives when its members support each other. It's a powerful acknowledgment that we are not alone in our journey through life, and that by helping others, we are also helping ourselves.
So, when we say it feels good to give in, it's not just about the act of giving up or surrendering; it's about embracing the joy of generosity. It's a celebration of the human spirit and its capacity for compassion and empathy. Giving is an affirmation that, despite the challenges we face, there is goodness in the world, and we have the power to contribute to it, one act of kindness at a time. It's a simple truth that enriches our lives and the lives of those around us, creating a legacy of goodwill that can endure beyond our own existence. Indeed, to give is to receive a gift of immeasurable value—the happiness and satisfaction that come from knowing we've played a part in making the world a little brighter.
