So I've realized something... Because my party's kind of base of operations right now is my character's house (because where else are we supposed to keep all these fucking people when the DM STEALS OUR AIRSHIP ☹), my character's parents have had to watch their only son come home many times after months of being away... with wounds that vary in levels of severeness, with scars that he's probably pretty reluctant to elaborate on how he got them, and also watch as he just progressively appears more and more upset and angry and tired all of the time. Hell it seems like if he's called that old childhood nickname one more time he might just break down into tears. And it's not like he's going to talk about it. Azazel would frankly rather drink until he's blacked out then even think about the possibility of him considering telling someone he might be unhappy... Despite it being pretty obvious he is, and despite him constantly very clearly losing it, or at least being on the verge of losing it. He'd rather claim everything's perfectly fine and get away from the conversation as fast as possible. And yeah, he's never been one to really open up, but this seems extreme, even for him. And I mean yeah, his friends have had to watch this take place too, multiple of which witnessing the fights in which he gains those scars and wounds... but also you have to consider that they went to Strixhaven with him. These people have witnessed Azazel at some of his lowest and highest points, this isn't really that new. "Oh Azazel's losing it again? Yeah no shit." I mean of course it doesn't mean they don't worry about him. I think Rubina is damn near ready to shove the little fucker in a psych ward, but, y'know....

okay you know what. ive been thinking about the time between chuuya shooting dazai and dazai revealing himself to fyodor. and ive decided that we were ROBBED. cause like. dazai comes out with a splint on his leg and his shoulder wound *not* bleeding through his shirt. and like, chuuya was RIGHT THERE. he followed right behind dazai when dazai confronted fyodor. so surely. SURELY chuuya helped patch up dazais injuries. at the very least he got the splint for him. and holyyyyy shit does that have potential. like

chuuya visibly dropping the ruse and asking in a panic if dazai is okay. dazai sits up and makes fun of him for being worried and then whines dramatically about the wound in his shoulder. chuuyas like "youre such a pain, i shouldve killed you right then and there" and then settles down next to him to help fix him up.

chuuya is talking while he bandages dazais shoulder (definitely not to distract dazai from the pain. definitely not because he likes talking to dazai. definitely not because hes dealing with a lot of strong emotions and doesnt want to think about any of it. hes doing it to annoy dazai, obviously). probably complaining about having to pretend to be a vampire and how annoying it was, and then dazai makes fun of him for like. his vampire teeth or something, so chuuya scowls and aggressively tightens the bandage to get him to stop laughing (it only partially works, because dazai does stop laughing to yell at him to ease up, but hes still got that glint in his eye. asshole).

chuuya asking if dazai can walk (but not like "omg are you okay???" more like "if you ask me to carry you ill shoot you again") and dazai makes a comment about how he WOULD but SOMEONE was too rough when stopping the elevator and chuuya yells that its not as easy as it looks and maybe next time he'll just let the elevator crash. he still asks him what he needs to do for it though. bonus points if he like. rips a hole in the wall to make the splint. you know he fucking would

they both know they should be hurrying- even without the fyodor thing, they should want to be done with this and get away from each other as quickly as possible, since they /hate each other so much/. but its their first quiet moment in a while (well. not really quiet because theyre literally always bickering. but quiet because neither of them are fighting or dying) and, while they would never admit it, theyre savouring the time together. and if either of them notices how unhurried the other person is, they dont bring it up.

Sharing a quick thought about Suo. He’s definitely ticklish on his sides and stomach but it’s very situational. If he’s been like pinned down and it’s his bare tum and the ler is super soft and teasy, THATS when Suo breaks. I could definitely see a scene where Sakura is complaining that Suo isn’t ticklish on his stomach but Neiri to have notes somehow on it where he’s like “oh no he is, you just need to be gentle and know what to do and say!” Provoking Sakura to aquire someone to help him with it and for Neiri to be there to direct him on what to do.

Sakura ends up getting a lesson on how to be gentle while still having someone at his mercy and who better then Suo 🙏🙏😤

Ume sees them all tickling Suo and gets super excited and is like “oooh! Tickles fight! My favorite” blah blah blah something about team bonding.

“Who the hell tickled him before-” Sakura began, but his answer was sitting not far from him, talking to Toma. Umemiya caught his eye before winking. Did he know what they were discussing?

Who cares- he had evidence now! “What do you have to do?”

“Sakura, I’d highly advise you don’t.” Suo’s smile grew a tad strained, leaning away when his friends turned to grin at him. “I can’t guarantee your physical wellbeing if you try anything…” “That’s the first step, actually- pin him down!”

“On it!” Umemiya ran over, confirming his earlier suspicions as he wrestled Suo to the ground. “Squirmy guy, aren’t you? Sugishita, help me!”

“No don’t-” Suo’s cries were lost as said boy tackled him, adding to the fray. Before long, the long haired teen had him in a hold; sitting above his head with his legs pressing into his outstretched arms. He further added to the hold by grabbing onto Suo’s wrists, the grip firm but comfortable. “This is a bit unnecessary, no?”

“Hehehe, gotcha! Okay, Neiri, what’s next?” Umemiya asked from his spot across Suo’s lower legs, hands on his chin and feet kicking happily like a child. The blonde nearly forgot how to speak being in the presence of their top guy.

“E-Erm, okay! Right- eh- you have to be super gentle- feather gentle! It’s better if you do it on bare skin.” Neiri nodded, flustering some at the last part. Sakura shrugged and did as he was told, shoving up Suo’s shirt.

“Told you. Nothing in my notes is incorrect! Well- except that one thing..and the other thing..” Neiri hummed as he flipped through his pages, Sakura carrying on gently tickling Suo while Umemiya gave him the occasional pointer. “I might need to update this soon.”

“No worries on that right now- come; help Sakura!” Umemiya invited him over, making Neiri puff with surprise. “Enjoy your youth through the power of tickle fights! It’s good for team bonding!”

FIRST HOLY SHIT

This person never fails to amaze me!! I thought Retired was good but holyyyyy I loved this one so much!! Seeing so much of Helia's internal dialogue was so good! And just like Retired, it felt completely in character. You already know how much I can't stand Helia fics because so many people get his characterization wrong so I'm always pleasantly surprised and extremely happy to see someone get him right.

I loved the self assured attitude here! So many people get this wrong about Helia. They think he's egotistic and cocky when he really just knows what he's capable of (and what he isn't). I loved how he knew he could do it but also knew there was a chance of failure.

AND THE SKYLIA DYNAMICS LOOORRRDDD I loved seeing both of them do that "well he just needs to trust me" thing that was so cute and in character for both of them! And Sky confronting slash comforting him at the end :') I really, really liked Sky's characterization in this! He has those "boo i'm the leader" moments that some fans hate but is in character for him while also highlighting his more caring and worrying side! And it didn't feel like he was Just thinking about the team overall either! You could tell he was genuinely worried about Helia and that was so refreshing to see.

And god... where to start with Helia... I loved the suicidal ideology there because that is so common in the military. "I won't have to deal with the fallout if I die" is such a common thought when you're dealing with constant life or death situations and responsible for other people's lives. I really like how the author keeps drawing from his past experiences and how they shaped his current thought process, especially in regard to how Shadowfaunt messed with his mind. How he just kind of accepted those thoughts because he's had them before? Being able to move past them because he Knows that's not okay and Sky and everyone else doesn't deserve that? SO GOOD

And I really like how they explore his feelings after that mission! Him making more mistakes (which we know is something that literally kills him)? Him hiding away to have a panic attack? Knowing that everyone else knows something is wrong but can't bring himself to bring it up or talk to anyone?

I also LOVE how Sky mentions that the specialists consider him a friend but they're not sure what he considers them because that is exactly what happened!! So many people think they just accepted him blindly or that they never even got close to him which like... no... Showing that they see him as a friend and want to be closer but they're not sure how Helia sees them in return??? BABE

And ANOTHER THING!! I really liked Riven's characterization here too! I liked how he was clearly worried about Helia but also being more aggressive and a little petty about it too. He was undermining Helia but he was also fully worried about him and yknow... didn't want him to die. I feel like this is really on brand for how Riven shows his concern!

Idk man I'm just obsessed with this writer and how they portray everyone... I honestly can't wait for the longer fic they mentioned because bro.... I'm not sure if this fic is in the same universe as Retired but I feel like they could be! I really liked how Helia very crassly moved over talking about how his teammate died and how he had to clean up the mess? LIKE WHEW That's some tough fucking shit no wonder he was close to dropping himself

I really admire how strong everyone is portrayed in this fic! The winx with dealing with the effects of Darkar's Fortress, the specialists for trying to help them while also not dying, Helia's whole fucking deal, Helia for not giving up and wanting to keep going, Sky for not judging him or hating him for what he said... just... everything about this is so good i'm gonna be thinking about this for ages :')

Okay, so, like, in the event where you call someone to fix the thermostat they're in shock. But like, imagine the repair guy telling you that someone had been tampering with it and that's why it seemingly always 'acts up' and you telling them about it and they just act like the surprised Pikachu meme, acting all innocent like, "I had no idea" or "must have been the previous owners of this place that messed it up so bad" and of course, you believe them cause they're your roommate and they've been nothing but nice to you since moving in.

Doesn't stop them from being clingy though, even after it's fixed. Honestly, you've come to expect it from them now, and it gets super awkward when you have other friends over/potential s/o's cause they're like "why are you acting like a couple if you're not dating?" and of course, you're both quick to brush it off, even though on the inside they're mentally celebrating cause clearly everyone else can see how perfect the two of you are for each other. Holyyyyy shit I just rewatched Mexican Joker as part of a random South Park episode marathon and like-

Cartman’s subconscious way of interacting with Kyle is just,,,,..HHHH

So obviously the 1st thing to point out is that Cartman’s goal this whole episode was to humiliate, not hurt (if that makes any sense) his one track mind thought to use detaining Kyle as a way of wrenching an apology from his cold dead hands, which he didn’t. He only got a deadpan “fuck you”

Then, when he gets to the denention center with Kyle, his demeanor is already changed. Instead of actively going after Kyle and laughing at him for being in his situation he acts chill and diverts attention back to what he would normally do (try to make a big story and rally people to his cause).

I think one of the main things to note here is that for whatever reason Cartman knows when to mess with Kyle and when to help him ESPECIALLY if it concerns his family.

Seriously, think about Smug Alert, and Skank Hunt. Kyle is in a bad situation and it’s concerning the health of his family. Cartman’s actions show that he knows when Kyle defends his family that he’s being 100% seriously.

Alright anyway going back to his behavior in the detention center. So Cartman is whether he likes it or not, acting strange and/or different than how he usually does.

Kyle finally gets to talk to him after he arrives and the whole chill persona comes out when Cartman tells him how he got there.

Key observation: Cartman isn’t even fucking MAD that he got sent it the detention center. Like wtf, we’ve seen countless times how pissed off Cartman gets when he gets grouped with minorities (because he’s a xenophobic peice of shit) but holy mother of god, you’re telling me that now that Kyle’s added into the mix his reaction is suddenly uncaring???

Dats weird. Dats suspicious….

My running theory with this is that

1) he’s not complaining because he can’t stand to not be around Kyle (Smug Alert) and

2) Cartman knows how his reactions enable Kyles anger (and vice versa) if one is already livid, the other also being angry will only lead to world war 3 Armageddon. So, Cartman acknowledges Kyles absolute fury about his family potentially being in danger and decides to cooperate by being passive.

We haven’t even gotten to the big boi yet, which is basically confirming what we’ve deduced already. When it’s time to sleep, Cartman is still pulling his distraction bullshit (although it seems mostly directed to Kyle).

However, once he sees that Kyle isn’t reacting to his antagonizing pokes he resorts to fake realizing that Kyle would be affected by dentention camps because he’s Jewish (concentration camps, etc.). Then, Kyle says he has an idea and sends Cartman to help him, and loses his temper a little but Cartman does what he wants eventually.

My reaction to this is what the actual fuck, because Cartman never once has acted like this in any other episode up until this point.

But he HAD to have known that in order to get Kyle thinking of an idea to escape he had to pester him right? Like there’s no WAY Cartman suddenly tries out like- three different ways of interacting with Kyle and us for the first time seeing Kyle take a situation into his own hands when it’s just the two of them.

Please, if Kyle has ever done this type of thing before let me know which episode so I can have more context!

And if this is true, and Cartman DID know that him pestering Kyle would cause him to take matters into his own hands, why Kyle???? We all know that Cartman could plan his way out off that dentention camp in less then a couple days, but instead he let Kyle come up with his own plan.

Personally, I feel that this is Cartman’s way of apologizing? Maybe I’m reading into this too much from a shipping perspective but if what I say makes sense then I’m happy to contribute to someone else’s brain rot lmao

Pairing: Bay Boys x Holly, a lil bit of Daveed x Lindy if you squint, but mostly Bay Boys.

A/N: This story fills in the gap after Winter Song and before Last Christmas.

Daveed was toking on the blunt that Rafa brought over later that night. The weed distracted D a little, but he still wanted the info on Rafa and you.

“I’m surprised you and Holly had a civil conversation. You two can’t seem to talk without arguing. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you wanna fuck her.”

“That’s funny,” squeaked Rafa after taking a toke and quickly passing it back so Diggs would stop talking.

“I think we can both agree that Holly Woods…” Daveed was getting loose with the weed, but Rafa was getting tight. He gave Diggs a side eye as he thought back to your conversation that night.

“Would you wanna get with Holly, D?” He asked and made sure that his face was fixed. Daveed could read him like a book.

Daveed stroked his beard, contemplating.

“Holly’s got body for days. That would be a nice ride…”

Rafa took a deep drag. “That body, is….yeah.”  He smiled a secret smile that he had practically every inch memorized.

But Daveed wasn’t paying attention. He was thinking about Linden and what had happened.  He had to get her back. 

“But you know I’m on a different mission, Cash. Why do you ask? You interested?” Daveed finally looked at Rafa.

“We’re friends D. Just curious.” Rafael tried to keep it light.

But Diggs would not be deterred. “Yeah. You and Holly seem to be a thing lately.”

Rafa’s face was classic and he coughed, getting choked on the smoke. He didn’t expect that. Daveed couldn’t help but laugh.

“I just mean, every time we get together, y’all tussle. And now, we’ve got an engagement at her school Friday, right? Like, how did y’all get on the subject of her kids’ show anyway?”

“I was helping her grade papers…” Shit, thought Rafa. He was gonna end up telling D.  Holly would kill him.

Daveed stopped and stared at him.

“Wait wait wait wait wait. Hold up. You helped her grade papers? Like you met at a coffee shop or something and helped her grade papers?”

Diggs was examining his friend’s face for the tell tale signs. Right now all he thought was that Rafa was a great actor.

Rafa just looked at Daveed. “Google Docs?’”

“Are you asking me, Cash?” Rafa just shrugged and took the joint back, now sullen. “You were over her place?”

“I just stopped by…”

Daveed nodded and toked again, trying not to jump to conclusions.

“I was talking to UTK earlier. He said you and Holly got into it today over his pl….” 

Daveed stopped inhaling and looked at Rafael. 

“Holyyyyy…What did you do over her place, Rafael?”

“Grade papers.” Rafa got up. “Look I was thinking about this last track, I- “

It wasn’t like him to not talk about an interaction with Holly Woods. He loved antagonizing you and talking about antagonizing you. It was like he had a--

“Oh, shit!”

Daveed got up and moved so he could see Rafa’s face.

“Grade papers and what, man?”

“Eat indian food.”

“And…”

Rafa looked at his platonic life partner. He couldn’t hold it any longer. Daveed would be cool, and he would beg you for forgiveness.

He dropped his head, trying to contain himself. But hell, he and D had no secrets. And he needed to talk to his homeboy. 

He raised his head and grinned.

“I blew that fucking back outtttt!  Rafa looked so elated.

Daveed stood there, stupefied. Rafa barrelled on.

“It was dope, I was on my King Kong shit. I had to improve from the first time. I-“

“Wait a minute.” Daveed interrupted. “How many times have you and Holly done the deed?”

“Ok, how many times did we do it or how many like, separate dates did we do it on, cause…..” He took the blunt back. Rafa looked up in the air and french inhaled.

He couldn’t even tally the exact amount of times he’d made you cum. He smiled, proud of himself.

“Does each orgasm count? Mine or hers? Cause, Diggs. I put it down.” Rafa was grinning like a fool.

“Woooow.”

Daveed’s mouth was hanging open.

“We just got back two weeks ago Rafa… how.. When….?”

“Well, when I met her the day after the party at your place, we hung out and…. Way led onto way… and we came to an agreement.”

Rafa was still holding the blunt.

“Pass that shit, bruh.” D motioned for the weed. “What kind of ‘agreement?’”

“You know. FWB. It’s just a casual arrangement. No biggie at all.”

Daveed barked a laugh at his friend, spitting out smoke in his direction. Rafa just looked at him.

“Oh, you’re serious.” D cleared his throat.

“Ok. Sure. Just casual. Was this your idea?” Daveed knew that it wasn’t.

“We both came up with it after careful planning and forethought.”

Rafa flashed back to the night when you were on your knees and told him what the deal was. He was so hard and horny that he would have given his left kidney to get with you.

Diggs read Rafa like a book, but he didn’t say anything. Rafa had called him Romeo, but Rafa was the die hard romantic of the pair when he was caught up.

And Daveed could tell he was caught up. He didn’t say anything, just passed the joint back to Rafa.

“So… why this arrangement instead of a relationship?”

“Well, we decided that we could service each other conveniently without the ties and baggage of a relationship.” He took a thoughtful smoke. And he really believed what he just said.

“What happens when someone catches feelings?”

Rafa exhaled and scoffed at his friend.

“Not a problem. We would end it before that happens. Easy peasy.”

Daveed knew that Rafa was deep in denial, but he didn’t say a word. All he said was, “Dope.”

“So, what up with Friday? I gotta be able to skate to be able to catch my flight back to New York.”

“Ah. The amazing Ms. Linden Marshall. Someone who is able to pry Daveed Diggs away from California. Is she really going to speak to you when you show up in Harlem?”

Daveed’s face fell, then he looked wistful. “I dunno. But I’m going to try.”

“Damn. D’s in muthafuckin love. A rare occurrence.

Diggs’ smiled. “I am. Four times in four decades. Seems legit.”  He smiled. “I just gotta convince her that picture was not what it looked like.” 

“Gotta love TMZ.” Rafa was reclining and blowing smoke rings thinking about the show. He looked over at his platonic life partner.

“Here you go again, about to get in deep with Lindy. What am I going to do for soulmate shit? I give you my heart and you give it away.”

He started laughing as Diggs started shaking his head and laughing along. 

Daveed started a witty comeback, “Well, it seems that you and Ho--”

Rafa interrupted him, sitting upright on the couch.

“Wait! I know the perfect thing for Holly’s kids and for the show. We can do a mini BARS Workshop during the day and a mini final BARS performance that night. Our contributions will be…”

Rafa explained his idea for Friday. It sounded perfect to Daveed.

“Holly will love it.”

The only thing Daveed could do was laugh. He decided to let Rafa and Holly figure out how deep this thing was.

Rafael tried very hard to restrain himself the next two days. He texted, but not too much, but when you sent him a snap of you with puppy dog ears on Thursday, he couldn’t stand it. You were too fucking cute. His heart beat erratically when he got it.

Friday morning, D and Rafa walked into Holly’s classroom at 7:45 am, ready for the day.

What Rafa wasn’t ready for, was how adorable you were with the students. He just stood and watched you, his heart doing things that he was beginning to recognize as dangerous..

You were bending down, trying to get one young man out of his jacket. He proved to be a very squirrelly 5 year old.

You were smiling and patient, and between wrestling with you, trying to tangle up his coat, and reaching for his crayons,  the young man was also trying to give you a kiss.

Timothy noticed Rafa there and stuck his tongue out at him.

Rafael felt some kind of way. It was ridiculous. He laughed at himself and watched you struggle with Timmy.

“I told you, Timothy, I’ll give you a hug, but no kisses.” Your smile was beautiful and bright, and Rafa understood young Tiny Tim’s troubles intimately.

Timothy pouted up at you through his long eyelashes, and when you finally got him out of his jacket, you gave him a hug. Tim gave Rafa a look over your shoulder like, ‘I won.’

“You’re my cutie pie, Ms. Woods.”

“Awwww, Timothy. That’s so sweet.” You smiled and gave him another hug.

Rafa wanted to hurt a kindergartner. But he just smiled tightly when Tim stuck his tongue out again. 

You still didn’t notice them there, so you went around and greeted all of the students. Rafa watched you with them and thought of how good of a mother you would be. Holy shit, he was done for.

While Rafa was watching you, Daveed was watching the entire scene. Finally, he came up next to Rafa and told him about himself, quietly, so the kids wouldn’t hear.

“You’re so screwed.”  Daveed felt like Rafa was realizing what’s up.

Rafa just looked at him but was distracted by you calling their names when you noticed them. He looked at you and a realization dawned on him.

Rafa had caught feels for you but he couldn’t let you know. That would mean the end of everything.  He had to stay cool. He had to chill.

Daveed hugged you first, and as Rafa hugged you, he savored it and looked at Daveed, not unlike Timmy did. He had no chill.

After the hug, he leaned over to D and replied, “You’re so right. I am SO screwed.”

Daveed laughed at him while Rafa spiraled into turmoil.
