Cat!Mai: “I thought this would be more exciting.”

Cat!Azula: “Now, now, Mai. At least you don’t have to worry about someone stealing your food.”

Cat!Ty Lee: “Look at him! he’s so cute!”

Cat!Azula smirked before putting the rodent in her mouth and the trio began walking away so they can deal with the pesky vermin in a more secluded environment, where it can’t escape.

Cat!Azula is always so cute and funny to me, I don't know why.

These were such fun requests! I went a little overboard with the first one... I'd quite like to never do that again, though. I don't understand how people constantly make comics! It's crazy! Yapping under the cut!

SO! The Chinese text in the very first panel with Yue is meant to be 闪通臂 which the "fan through back" posture, which Yue is meant to be pictured doing... something similar to that.

Yue is wearing khăn lươn and khăn mỏ quạ, the headwear. I got this inspiration from the Tumblr atlaculture, which if you are not familiar, the person (people?) who run it does an amazing job compiling... cultural inspiration for Avatar! I chose this headwear specifically because it was stated to be used to protect the hair from the Sun, and potentially be used by Earth Kingdom outlaws... I have no particular AU in mind for that, but I thought it was fun, and a good way to hide and protect Yue's hair.

For "Catzula" here, I wasn't sure if there was some specific AU in mind that this was meant to be, so I just went ahead and made her a normal cat... I opted for making her a Thai, or "Wichien Maat", not the exact same thing as a Siamese! They are meant to be the predecessor to the modern Siamese. According to some rumors, the Siamese cat was once a breed exclusive to royalty and nobility. I decided to take that, because of the whole FN royal family thing, and then went for Thai instead of Siamese breed specifically just because the Thai is considered the older breed.

For the ask game with Catzula one shots, specifically the born a cat one but either is fine!

Does azula make little cat noises unintentionally? Like when she’s happy she’ll purr, meows?

This one is based off of my own cat, but when she is about to do something mischievous like pushing a cup off the table she makes little “chirping” noises- would azula be able to do that and that’s how Ursa knows when she’s up to something

100%! She both purrs to get what she wants because it’s her version of the puppy dog eyes. However, it also can happen unintentionally.

Like when her mom hugs her, Ty Lee is playing with her, she and Zuko are doing something, etc. Basically whatever would make human her happy, makes her purr as a cat whether she chooses to or not.

Meowing is a lot more controlled. She usually meows whenever she’s trying to communicate in her cat form. She has done it once or twice as a human but only when she’s exhausted and forgets which form she’s in.

Zuko and her have sat down though and gone through every sound she can make as a cat then tested to see if she could make the same noise as a human.

She would. I think she’d mainly do it whenever she wants to get caught because she wants her moms attention. When Ursa hears the chirping noises she knows both that Azula is ten seconds from destroying a family heirloom and also that she wants attention. When Azula is just being a cat and knocking stuff over because she wants to, she won’t make a sound.

1. Zuko was used to his new ship's cat spending his fire bending practice time either hissing angrily at him or awkwardly flopping around in an attempt to replicate his moves. This familiarity makes it all the more astonishing when one of those particularly emphatic flops results in a gout of blue flame.

3. Zuko is completely blind to the million oddities surrounding his kitten. Iroh is becoming increasingly confused why it has barely grown in the past 3 years.

I’m actually imagining Catzula just living at circus with Ty Lee for a while, and Ty Lee thinks she’s so cute and cuddly and warm(Mai would actually also like a cat, as they tend to match her personality, but her parents are not in favor of the idea).

hi, it's me, requester of catzula and other prompts. no request here. just wanna say how GORGEOUS that catzula is! and the comic panel is so nice and fluid! the transition between panels works out so amazingly, like nothing felt out of place. I like how you drew the flames around azula, very dynamic and free. hope the snow you're getting in your area is fun!
