FFXIV folks, if you're tried out the DT benchmark character creator and are concerned about how your character(s) look, make sure to try them out in the benchmark itself. The character creator still uses the same shitty lighting as it always has so the new skin textures look oily, lip color set to dark looks flat, and hair and skintones look washed out -- but they look fine in the benchmark scenes, which use the improved lighting.

(That said, some of the face models did change rather drastically... looking at you male Miqo face 4 :/)

#final fantasy xiv #ffxiv #also keep in mind that eye catchlights are no longer painted on #they're dynamic #so if your character has bangs those will shade their eyes and you won't get catchlights from some angles #because the light isn't hitting them!
