I’ve been loving Beyond the Gates but somone on twt mentioned how everyone passes the paper bag, or is biracial and now I can’t unsee it. Plus Hayley being the villain and the darkest is so stereotypical 🙄 Because what was the reason? I love the mess but I’m hoping to see some more color variety in the cast because the colorism isn’t it like it’s so pointed.



Omg okay I’m currently two weeks behind so I have a lot of catching up to do, but I was thinking about this specifically with Eva’s character! Both of her parents are darker skinned and they cast a light skin actress??? She’s a strong actress don’t get me wrong, but it’s just not adding up. You’re right about Hayley and it’s the same with Dana aka “Leslie” too compared the to Dupree family. This is my first soap so I wonder if colorism is a thing across the board? It would be sad if it’s only in the first black led soap smh

i have a semi-large amount of followers on another platform, so i've been using my "influence" to reach out to brands to try and get donations for a school i volunteer at for teacher appreciation week. i got my first yes today which is exciting! but one brand specifically said they only work with college students which is wild bc their celebrity collabs have all been non college age women including ones in their 40s?? idk i do feel like if i was a white content creator i would definitely be getting more yes replies.

Ever since the mid season break Found has been EXCELLENT. I feel like the writers finally found their footing and everything is beginning to settle (which is wild to say midway through the second season, but I'll take it). I do wonder how they're planning to end the season though bc they just open two new cans of worms that would normally be saved for finales or premieres...
