Cat finally got to 1 million views! I made a scrapbook spread to celebrate! I also made one for yuno since I'm doing them two by two.

also um there was a lot of mistakes made when making these. first our printer made yuno's pics super saturated (even though i alreadly desaturated it like two times). then it stained some of kazui's pics and i made them too big, so i had to re-print them again...

so yeah, but it was very fun to make!

Overrated: Love is Blind series. The game itself just isn’t very engaging, the dynamic is great but it feels like most of what people love about it is cherry-picked from around the video, which can also be done with so many other Smosh videos.

Underrated: Smoshminster Dog Show. The Amangela dynamic was just on FIRE the whole time they were there, and the dogs brought so much unintentional comedic genius. I’m unsure how many views it’s at now, but it deserves so much more.

As much as I love (pun intended) Love Is Blind, now that you say it, I didn’t necessarily like the entire video, just the key moments that were hilarious. When it first came out, I thought I enjoyed it so much to the point where I tried rewatching the next day, and I just couldn’t finish the video. I wish I could watch it for the first time so I can enjoy it again, although I will say, I can’t say the same about the second part. I didn’t like that one as much, the first was better by a long shot. The dog show one was such a cool idea. I love dogs and I love Smosh, so bringing it together, you can’t go wrong with it. I feel like most of the cast is cat lovers so it was nice seeing dogs get to shine (no hate on cats, they’re cool too.) Ps. it has almost 1m views which is a bit surprising, I thought for some reason it had around 500k. So it did pretty well I would say!

I meant to poke you about Spy x Family! I didn't know you watched it, how do you like it?

Spy X Family! It's really fun. We only managed to watch four episodes in season two before my sibling went back to college. Grr...

(Not sure how much counts as spoilers. For anyone wondering why this is tagged Milgram, there's a treat at the end.)

I love how everyone in the family is keeping up a charade, but they make it work. It'd be easier if they knew each other's secrets, but they don't know that.

The lengths Anya goes to hide her telepathy. Randomly declaring that she wants a mom when she sees that Loid and Yor would both benefit from having a partner. Claiming she wants to go to a bakery because she hears the purse thief going there. Saying she randomly wants to go to the hospital pool, and then saying she knew to save the kid because of air bubbles. After cheating at Old Maid, giving it another go and purposefully messing up... except that she wears her thoughts on her face (but she still wins because Damian likes her).

And the way she struggles at school... can't blame her. It's possible that she's only four or five.

Yor's killer mindset. Everything is about killing, and poor Anya has to hear about it. Yor is hilariously terrible at cooking. She's fiercely protective of her family. Saves Anya on multiple occasions. I love how Anya even exploited those motherly instincts once by grabbing a criminal's coat and saying he was kidnapping her.

Loid's endless scenario branching. I wish I could do that. Too bad he can't account for the fact that his wife is secretly an assassin. (Or that she got shot in the butt when she was on the job. That was a funny episode.) And back in the first episode... "oh, these are my patients."

I do wonder if the reason they manage to keep their charades up is because they're too busy to examine each other's charades.

So.... Milgram.

I played Cat a ton of times trying to get it to 1M views. My mom thought it was Spy X Family multiple times.

Kazui's masquerade sure feels like Loid's in a way. Not sure about Hinako, but she's got the aesthetic. And Amane is a precious child (well, almost-teen) who is very observant.

My journey of self-discovery as a therian was quite a fun ride. I've described it several times to my friends but I guess it would be nice to document everything into one long post.

My very first ?sona? (not as a fursona, but as an image of myself??) was a dark blue dragon with yellow wings and belly scales. I don't have many pictures of this form left, and don't feel connected to it anymore. It was some kind of a night+stars+water dragon, I guess.

I will add a picture here once I find my childhood drawings of this dragon form

Next one was a cat, but it felt forced and emerged more as a result of my Warrior Cats obsession in middle school. It was a diluted tortoiseshell longhair cat. I was clinging to this form for a long time, though, but it was nothing more than roleplaying.

At the same time I was obsessed with wolves, howling and growling at my peers, googling "How To Become A Werewolf Real Working Spell", etc. But a wolf identity never felt quite fitting either. Some interactions with wolf therians and their experiences made me realise That's Not Me. So I started searching.

Some other animals that I have considered to be connected to were:

otters (legs waaay too short and I'm not That Much of a water person)

smilodons (i do sometimes get mild shifts of being a Big Beast though, but my claws are DEFINITELY not retractable)

cheetahs (their body is quite similar to what I feel but the vocalisations feel WRONG)

I was searching for both physical and behavioural characteristics that I felt, such as:

Height. I feel that my point of view shouldn't be much higher than 1m off the ground

Limbs should be LONG and lanky

Claws are non-retractable, I feel them clicking on the ground as I walk

Ears aren't big and pointy, they are either rounded or floppy/drooping

I have a mane??? Weird?? Maybe not a mane but some kind of long and/or thick fur on my neck

No small spots or stripes on my pelt, colors blend in quite smoothly

No real preference for a certain terrain. I like forests, plains, rivers, hills, swamps, steppes and even deserts, but not the seashore, not the mountains, and not the tundra.

Definitely not a solitary but neither a big pack animal, lives in a small family group?? Also tolerates humans and human environment well.

I bark.

It was a bit frustrating for me to realise that I wasn't some Cool Beast like a sabretooth cat, or a reindeer, or a dragon, but... Just some dog.

But what kind of dog?

My first choice was a Caucasian Shepherd Dog. The mane, the colors, the size felt quite right, but not the bulkiness and the thick fur. My human body isn't very strong and sturdy, and I considered it wishful thinking to think of myself as of such a beast.

Next pick was a sighthound, a borzoi or a saluki. But I've never seen a borzoi that has the right pelt color, and they are way too tall and social for me. And salukis don't have the mane, though the overall body shape was similar to what I felt myself, and the "grizzle" color feels almost right.

So for a while, I presented as a weird mutt, a pariah mixed breed dog looking somewhat like this:

Being a mutt felt like a permission to go wild and add whatever features felt right, so I experimented a lot. And then I stumbled upon a photo of a silken windhound. That was like a revelation. The colors were off, but the shape felt So Correct that I felt euphoric just by looking at pictures of this breed.

So this is the form I'm content with, and feel comfortable enough. The only weird features are that I feel still a bit bulkier than average windhound, and have an additional toe on hind paws!

Hey, thanks for the question! I wanted to elaborate more on Haruka and add a moment from Metamorphosis of the Weak Mint, as a note, but I began getting a bit of a headache. Maybe next time.

5. favorite voice drama line/moment?

This VD doesn't have an english name from what I'm aware of, but I think it's a good introduction to Haruka and how VDs are generally meant to go. But as for specific moments:

This one I think. Just this entire section clarifies so well that 'hey. this guy. this guy.' Haruka's a character who struggles hard with attention, and seems to believe any attention at all is good. Yuno makes fun of him for this in her VD, in fact. But in general, I do like this section, and how it foreshadows how him and Muu take a liking to one another- and how Fuuta seems to also care for him.

Makes me wonder what the route where he and Fuuta get along instead would've been like.

2. favorite mv moment/frame?

...To give half a fair chance, I'll put my favorite moment from both.

I love the literalness of making his home a stage with props- down to you being able to tell the balcony outside isn't real, and nor is most of the features apart of the house. Everything looks so flat, just made so to the audience it looks real and three dimensional.

As for Cat...

While this scene is absolutely beautiful(all of Cat's scenes are you should go watch it and get it to 1M views if you're here), and I get that they're probably going with the cartomancy definition of the ace of spades. That this entire scene is about how their entire relationship is built on lies and tricks and deceit that Hinako unfortunately fell for. But.

The ace of spades is also a symbol of the asexual community, at least here in the west, and that was something I learned rather early on into researching being aroace. So it was rather funny for me to see this! No matter what this man does he is queer in some way or form.

To bring in another frame I really like, just because I ADORE the coloring and framing of this entire MV, I'll bring this one, as it's a frame I've been heavily lost on.

The 01 and the like... almost stutter-like effect of the cup as it falls has been confusing me for a bit now. Because Kazui isn't prisoner 1, that's Haruka. So why does Kazui have the number? I think Kazui has elements of color theory himself in Cat that need to be broken into, and this is one of those cases. Like I adore the frame and it also confuses me to no end and I don't know where to start with it. Does that make sense.

9. do you forgive/not forgive their crime on its own?

I don't forgive a lot of the characters crimes on their own, but especially in his case, you don't just appear on someone's street to doxx them, as is implied by his picture in Undercover. You don't just cancel someone for fun, especially not a random middle school student. And he knew she was a middle school student, Backdraft makes that abundantly clear. So, no, I do not forgive his crime on its own.

Tourist Hotspots

There are two very famous Tourist Hotspots near Banff. The first is Lake Louise which is very very busy. The second is just down the road (albeit it a road for busses only) and is called Moraine Lake. Both are famous for their turquoise blue water.

Getting to the lakes isn't easy since there is very limited parking which you need to reserve days in advance. We ended up taking a 4 hour long private tour bus which was convenient but not cheap. Tip - if you plan to go, book a local Roam Bus (8x) in advance. It is the cheapest way to get to the lakes.

When we got to Lake Louise it was full of people who basically just wanted to take selfies. Or, in the case of our bus, carry a live cat in a backpack and then take a gazillion selfies with said cat with the Lake in the background! Almost as incredible as the person we spotted walking around Vancouver with a small dog in a backpack carried in the same manner as a baby would be carried.....

Anyway, here are some pictures of Lake Louise - it is pretty.

Lake Moraine was nice in our opinion. There were less people and the water was even bluer - especially if you went up the Rock Pile - which is the part of the mountain that fell down into the valley, creating the lake.

On the way back, the mountains by the freeway were nicely lit up.

On the freeway there are special bridges to allow the animals to cross. There are also tunnels but the large predators didn't like the dark places so Parks Canada made these bridges at at least $1m each!

When we got back to our hotel, we found that there was a Mule deer doe on the grass outside our room.
