Our cat Smokey has been really unwell. I realized it's why I latched to Narinder so much recently (big grey cat lol). He has a vet appointment today to hopefully get the emergency care he needs. He's only 11 and we desperately want more time with our sweet boy.

I'm mostly just posting some pics of him to hold out hope. Plus, he's a handsome boy.

I may not be super active today. Lucy got into some flowers and got extremely sick last night. By the time I woke up this morning, she was drooling and stumbling and just in horrible shape.

I rushed her into the vet still in my pajamas and they recommended hooking her up to an IV and getting her rehydrated. As of last update, she’s doing okay: calm and resting but alert. I’m expecting a call with more details here shortly after the doctor comes back from lunch.

Please keep us in your thoughts, or pray for her if you pray. Her middle name is Athena because she’s my brave little warrior. I’m praying she pulls through now as well.

Hey uh… I figured I should post about this…

So uhm… I am going to try to take a bit of a break, if I do post it’ll probably just be little doodles or something. It’s not going to be forever, just for a little bit, I will get back to requests when I can. There’s just been a lot things that have happened this past weekend and I’m still processing it.

I first found out that my cat that we’ve had for going on 16 years has leukemia, there is is treatment for it but unfortunately we can’t afford it and with his age— and the fact that he’s going blind and has hip problems— we aren’t able to get it for him, and if we do we fear it might do him more harm than good.

After that I found out that my uncle had passed away very suddenly and we had to find out through another family member because my aunt has too much of a grudge against us to tell us herself. I don’t know what happened between us, but she just doesn’t like talking to us. Not even her father in law (my grandpa who lives with us)

And on top of all that, I was helping my friend with moving things and something landed on my foot. I think it is just bruised but I’m going to the doctor at some point to have it checked for sure.

I’ll be ok, I just wanted to let everyone know in case I if don’t post for a bit 💜🩷

Wiggle Wiggle

The demon has a lot of “soft spots” that make his whole body vibrate with how happy it makes him.

When he rests on top of you and you rub that spot just below his ribs he’s practically wiggling around- Do. NOT. Stop!!

He thumps his foot or headbutts when he’s excited. He’ll even try to headbutt the air.

Unsolicited Licking

If you’re sitting calmly together, and he feels safe, you’re going to be licked.

Specifically near your wrists and forearms.

He does it out of love, and showing you that he feels safe, so he proves that you are safe. He’s not biting you, right?

He’s a playful motherfucker when he wants to be.

Granted, it’s not a full on *bap*, it’s really just ‘Bitch! Gimme pets. You have no choice.’

Warning Signs: How NOT to die

If his tail is moving a lot, run. He has barbs that extend when he’s threatened. It’s more of a last resort, if one comes off he’ll be bleeding for a long while, but he will break one off under your skin if it feels necessary.

He can “purr” when he’s sad. When he stretches out his neck and flings his head back a bit (I hope this makes sense) almost like he’s reaching for something but just with his head, he makes small noises/vibrations in his throat. He’s lonely, sad, stressed, anything like that.

He’s sleeping in the open. Bitch, no he isn’t. At his core, he’s a great hunter. Even in the animal kingdom, it isn’t uncommon for predators to make themselves look harmless. The second you get close enough, you’re dead.

Warning Signs: He’s Sick

The “cat stretch” means he’s either starving or about to puke. Usually the latter.

White flakes on his skin is a common, semi-deadly, disease for the Rose Demons. It’s called Skaal (scale). Make sure he doesn’t open his mouth and that he doesn’t touch it. It will go away on its own if he leaves it alone.

Despite how it looks, if he’s rubbing his face on the floor, it means there’s probably something stuck- either in his eye sockets, his throat, side vents, anything. Do. Not. Approach. You will end up in the obituaries tomorrow.

If there’s a white goop coming out of his mouth and he’s gagging, give him the Heimlich ASAP! If you leave him he’s gonna blow up his organs- literally, he probably forgot to breathe and now has too much hydrogen bouncing around his body.

It’s not as bad as you think

White foam from his mouth is NOT rabies. He can’t get rabies. However, he CAN overeat and get himself sick. Being the prideful dumbass he is- he doesn’t wanna puke, even if he knows it’s best if he does and that if he refuses to he’s gonna make it worse on himself later. If there’s white shit coming out of his mouth, yank him to the nearest bathroom and lock him in there his claws are too big for most push-locks. It’s better that way.

If he looks like he’s twitching and he seems pale, get the fuck out! Let Liu handle him!! 🔞

He has random mounds on his back when he’s hungry. He doesn’t get cysts or cancer, so he’s just hungry. Back away or get eaten.

If it looks like he has a snake in his abdomen, like something is moving in there, let Liu handle him. 🔞

If he looks really pale, and his liquid keeps coming out of his sockets and his mouth, he isn’t sick. He’s mourning. It could be a lot of things, but just let him cope for a while.

i’m so sorry if i seem a bit off or post less in the next week or so — i just found out my beloved 17 years old soulmate cat got diagnosed with bone cancer and he doesn’t have much time left. he lives in my family home with my parents still whilst i’m abroad so it’s double tough because i can’t be with him. i just need some time to calm down and make my peace with everything

I was in a car wreck and called out sick from work after getting back home. Also, I was pregnant and I had 5 cats for some reason. And a huge house. I can't stress enough how much room I had.

The pale ginger she-cat nods, beginning to lap up the pulp. “I’d like to be like him, momma. Lion,” she clarifies, as if Squirrelflight wouldn’t know. “He’s so strong.”

“You’ll be strong, too,” Squirrelflight says, willing herself to believe it. “Stronger, if you eat your honey. Lionblaze never took his herbs.”

The small kit manages around half the pile before she gasps, little sides heaving. The herbs come up with bitter, awful-smelling bile, and then Dandelionkit coughs and coughs and coughs, frame shaking and rattling and spasming—

Idk if I’m wrong or not but if I remember correctly doesn’t Clear Sky once slash Quick Water for daring to question him? I very vividly remember her confronting him about something and him getting pissed and slashing her over it.

I remember it being Falling Feather, but can't check the book atm (fighting a sea lion rn, yes i have my harpoon dw)

But yes he does lose his shit on one of the two, it's in The First Battle after Thunder comes back to SkyClan for (iirc) a negotiation purpose. She says goodbye to Thunder too nicely and Clear Sky reprimands her about it.

Afterwards, he jumps in front of the whole Clan and says that everyone is allowed to abuse her however they'd like until she's learned her lesson. He compares her to a snake in the dirt. They're allowed to bully her, steal her prey, and command her however they'd like.

But like, he was just sad about his wives, so it's ok actually.

Gorsetail's got greencough

Anxious af today. Cato, my old sick kitty, has been doing ok on the steroid energy wise and he's not vomiting anymore, but it seems like no matter how much I feed him, he just won't put the weight back on like he did initially. So I've upped his food intake further.

The vet said she can't prescribe more of the steroid, though, until he gets checked so I have to bring him in, which we've booth been trying to avoid to reduce his stress. But there's no dodging it now. Which means, during the exam, she might find one of two things that I've been dreading.

Possibility 1: stomach issue I can't remember the name of. This is the best case scenario, and we may just need to up his food intake even further, or add another med in with the steroid.

Alternatively, we have Possibility 2, which is cancer. It's common in Cato's breed towards the end, and would cause the same symptoms, symptoms lessened by the steroid.

I'm terrified I'm going to take him in, in just a little while now, and the vet will examine him and then say it. The C word that will indicate after 16 years of loving this cat, that we're towards the end. But there's not much else to do.

He's on my lap now, so I'll pet him for a few more minutes before loading him up for the vet. Wish me luck.
