DP x DC: The Titans and the Phantom Cat

Danny doesn't do magic. He doesn't understand it or really know about it, and frankly he'd be more skeptical about it if it hadn't explicitly been used on him several times before. His parents are scientists and engineers, and they managed to accomplish what would typically fall under the realm of magic with nothing but recycled parts, wires and Fenton ingenuity.

So, when caught in a magic spell to bind him, he didn't know what would happen if he were to intentionally mess it up. Apparently, nothing good. Danny, free from the intended mind control, is now bound to the form of a cat with minimal use of his powers.

How could this get any worse?

Turns out, no one seems to understand what he's saying, they just hear meows. And without the use of his powers, he get's caught and finds himself in an animal shelter in Jump City.

When a group of young heroes comes through on a mission, and then proceed to mess things up, Danny can't help but throw out some snide commentary. Besides, it's not like they'll hear him

Welllllll... Turns out Raven and Beast Boy can tell what the hell he's saying. Of course the magic user and guy who can turn into animals can talk to him... Still it's nice to finally have someone to talk to, and also get him out of the cage while he's still trying to het a hold of what's left of his powers

Raven immediately clocks him as a powerful spirit bound to animal form. With a little persuasion, she ends up with a new familiar consultant and Danny the Cat gets to live in Titans Tower with them

Magic shenanigans happen, now Danny is basically Salem the Cat living with the Teen Titans and teaching them what he knows while mainly lounging around and sassing them. The actual usefulness of his advice may vary

1 out of 4 accelerated summer courses finished today. Next to go is Chem.

#i have not told my friends who are being supportive of me going to college #but i am very behind on chem #pretty much on top of english and psych #mind you the chem isn't hard it's just very time consuming and i work 50 hrs a week overnight #not even by choice on some level there's just literally nobody to work overnights #and It Is Such A Problem my single other coworker keeping nightshift alive at this 24/7 job and i are ... we have rioting to do #but anyways this is largely because i was having troubles with my adhd meds #and then hit the self destructive dread #which is such an odd problem to have when every other part of you is banging on the walls ready to go and kick ass #but so it goes #but i will catch up because i must and i want to and because i must #and because i didn't realize most of the people in my bio class were also going for the nursing program #i love the people on my bio class i'm super excited now #archivist talk #the archivist regrets starting nursing school #the archivist will get through it they just have to whine about it a little first #i was telling the archival assistants (my cats) but frankly one is too busy getting the zoomies and the other is trying to figure out #the best place to lay on me #and i shall not disturb her #my fair lady of orange #okay i work at 7P goodnight

i think recently i've been less soft and a lot more jagged-edged than i'd like to be. i need to make an effort to be more whimsical and less worried abt how i'm being perceived by ppl etc etc

sometimes I get a sudden and violent craving for the minecraft server I played when I was 12 as if I could log on and play it whenever I want but girl that was over a decade ago...

#I built my house at the end of a massive cavern with a big lake #you had to take a boat to get to the house #I built an automatic carrot farm in a rocky overhang in the ceiling #I had a little horse ranch and was working on building a great cobblestone wall around my property #my first ever horse was named Dynamo and to this day whenever I play minecraft I aim to get a horse with the same colors and name it Dynamo #the server had an urban area by the spawnpoint which was kind of fun #I never see that in modern minecraft servers #like it had The City (player built) that was this big urban area in the center #The City was located by a jungle so ocelots KEPT FUCKING SPAWNING and never despawned so The City was overrun by cats #so I built traps for them and an animal rescue in the city #and routinely checked the traps for cats and brought them into the animal rescue #I miss my minecraft house I never finished my bakery on the other side of the mountain behind my house

#catfish speaks #I'm feeling sad and lonely and disconnected #and i think a big part of it is this house sitting ive been doing #it's not my home #not my burrow not my warren not my nest #there's only so many places i can relax and none of them are really Mine #im not in my den and i miss it so much #i think im tired of house sitting for people #i know my friends trust me and need it #and it nice to get paid to jusy feed a cat for a week #but the difference between this year and the last is that last year was an escape from a hellhole #this time its confinement from my home #i don't want to be here #i want to go home #i want to sleep in my own lumpy bed with too much light behind the curtains #i want my own messy kitchen with a roommate that never does the dishes #i want my big windows and my slow tv and my badly designed couch and my fabric shelves and my sewing table #yeah i can bring my laptop and my phone and crocheting with me #i can watch youtube and tv here #but it's not the same and i miss my little den with the art prints on the wall #i miss my tomato plant that's dying #i want to go home again
