My only "pet peeve" about Cat Like-Atsushi stories

I don't know if anyone else cares about it, but I care about it so imma talk about it.

Tigers cannot purr.

Basically Roaring and Purring are exclusive. Cats who can purr can not roar and cats who can roar can not purr. Tigers roar, they do not purr.

Now honestly, it doesn't bother me too much, as purring is adorable and Atsushi being able to purr while human can be explained away by "Oh human vocal cords aren't strong enough to roar, so when he's human he can purr instead", but i would like to see some roaring atsushi fics.

Like, maybe Dazai's teasing goes a little too far one day and he roars to warn Dazai to get out of his face, or Kyouka gets lost in a crowd and he roars to find her out of instinct, or if you wanna get shippy he roars as a way to get Akutagawa's attention.

I guess I just wish Tiger habits were explored more was apposed to him just being compared to a domestic cat.

Edit: Unrelated, but you know how Snow Leopards carry their tails around in their mouths? I know tigers don't do it, but I kinda wanna see Atsushi do that. Like his tail pops out when he's nervous and he walks around with it in his mouth. Idk it just sounds cute.

Edit 2: Tigers are also very territorial, so some stories about Atsushi being oddly possessive over certain people/things would also be really interesting considering Atsushi has a pretty giving personality in general.

I love how despite the show being called Bungou Stray Dogs, most of the characters are either cat coded or canonically cat people OR they just dislike dogs.

And as a cat person myself, I absolutely adore this little detail (I love dogs too ofc, just prefer cats a little more)

The protagonist is literally a cat. (Okay yes, he's a tiger. Close enough lol)

Dazai was referred to as "a burnt black cat" by Oda. And he's also a cat person with a very obvious dislike for dogs.

The strongest gifted is LITERALLY A CAT.

Then of course there's Fukuzawa- the biggest cat person in the series. And Ranpo is also one of the most cat coded characters in the show (he's just as lazy as a cat)

And then there's Haruno and her obsession with cats, specifically, Mii-chan (Natsume). Also, love how cat girl is just a...CAT girl. (We don't even know her name)

There's Akutagawa with his dislike for dogs (imo, he's also very cat coded. According to a CD drama, he hates baths. If that isn't very cat like, then I don't know what is)

Lastly, Chuuya being one of the few dog people in the show is so funny to me.

Maybe Chuuya is the true Bungou Stray Dog amidst all the stray cats.

the ada has to shut off the lights on their christmas tree in the office during working hours because atsushi will just stare at it for ages if they don't

If Atsushi was a orange tiger rather than a white one. And because of that Atsushi has orange cat behaviours.

Atsushi didn't kill anyone on his rampage but man did he bite and scratch many nosy officers. He also absolutely wrecked a police car and no one knows how.

He saved Dazai, hissed at the water like it offended him and than dove in and swam for a good 20 minutes. While being on the brink of starvation.

If Atsushi doesn't like you he'll bite you. And if he does like you he'll bite you.

Atsushi will pounce on things very high up and out of reach and he will miss everytime. He's never once landed on his feet. And yet everytime there's no scratch at all.

He will also climb up things and just sit there. If ask him to come down or he will either ignore or will just fall. Not jump, fall.

Atsushi won't dodge anything. He will run head first through a wall and than through it if he needs to get somewhere.

Atsushi has been distracted mid battle by Rashomon and tried to play with it. He gets pissed when Akutagawa doesn't let him, because apparently "Rashomon isn't a toy you idiotic Jinko!"

He will just stare at someone for long periods of time for no reason.

Atsushi loves hugs and being held but he will also wiggle his way out of it everytime. But if you let go of him before he does, he will be very upset.

Kenji will just pick up Atsushi in full tiger form like he's a kitten.

Kyouka stays with Atsushi partly because there's no room elsewhere and also because Atsushi gets lonely and he will scratch at everyone's doors at night until someone let's him inside.

Nulligying his ability doesn't stop any of this because Atsushi is a weretiger. He's just like this.
