Not in a “your my precious son and I love you so much, here a movie to make you for my failures” kind of way

but in a “I’ve built this incredible empire and legacy that’s given magic to millions of people, and in that time you’ve lived in that same world, and so naturally it’s expected that you’d take it over in my place, but I know that you’ll never succeed me or that you’ll be able to recreate the magic. This magical world will die with me, this company will die with me, and that’s okay. You don’t have to be me.”

i'm actually scared to write more words. you bite. i'm sorry. but it's okay. i'm 'bout mapicc, i see why it's working as you described, though. mapicc looks like someone who would eat someone alive if he's too angry of hungry. he can control himself, but sometimes he just doesn't want to, it's not like the violence of all sorts is something strange here. and isn't eating some1 is kinda also can be the highest form of devotion. like. 🌳

I see him more likely to disect someone rather than eat them,,, cannibalism has always been coded to eclipse rather than devotions and dissection is like. examinination. he's watching. learning. he isn't brutal. he denies the animalistic parts in him. I think he would rather make an art piece of it than eat it. :3

13. What's a character or ship you haven't written/drawn yet but would like to some day?

at some point i want to write fig/ayda/kristen but it's hard cuz kristen and ayda just feel like such polars (also i have a little bit of a hard time finding ayda's voice so i haven't written her as much as i might want to)

16. Do people irl know you participate in fandom?

oh absolutely. i talked about it in an interview and it helped me get hired. my parents know, all of my friends, like i am not shy about talking about it just because writing is a huge part of my life and i exclusivly write for fandom.

17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [character] would like?

i feel like fig would love the outsiders. like she would have to read it in class and then fall in love with it just cuz it's so oriented in friendships and relationships and the way that society sees you and i think she would find a lot of kinship in the way that they go and try to disappear.

I know a lot of people often joke that When Marine was There is the gay Ghibli film Miazaki never intended it to be, but most people overlook that Marie was probably the first of the so called Family-Trauma renaissance movies we've been having lately.

Like this movie really explored healing from familial tragedy and learning to forgive and accept who you are in light of the horrible things that happened in the past.

Everyone forgets that throughout the movie, Anna is grappling with figuring out who she is, why she was placed into adoption, what exactly it is to be who you are and how you can learn to find yourself when you cant go of a past that keeps you from growing as a person.

Throughout the movie, both we and Anna learn a lot about Marine--that, like Anna--she was just a girl, who did girl things and had a childhood and had a difficult beginning. We also learn that contrary to what Anna believes about her adoption process, Anna was not willingly given up. Marnie's daughter, Emily (who already had a difficult relationship with Marnie due to the death of her father and the abandonment caused by Marnie) died suddenly and Marnie was the only one who could care for her granddaughter and only gave up Anna for adoption when she died.

That was not Marnie's fault and Anna finally realizes it. And even then, Anna accepts that it happened and it was horrible but it does not define both her or Marnie.

Throughout the movie, Anna is grappling with not knowing how or why she was left behind, and in the end, Anna leaves the movie having known Marnie for who she was (a deeply flawed person who made mistakes and had a tough childhood who was trying to write a wrong) and chooses to except Marnie into her life, despite the pain.

Like When Marnie was There walked so these bitches could run!
