The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck - Tribute to Don Rosa
I wanted to post this back in July, but for some reason it happened that I finished it until recently. Yes, I drew one before that, which you can see here:
This is my redraw of it, but in a different way and I'm posting it for reasons considering the censorship of Don Rosa comics that has been going on lately. It just needed a warning message about it, not censoring and deleting comics for stupid reasons. Overall, yes I have read The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa and I can tell you that it is one of the best comics I have read so far. You have online available to read and if you have time for it. It's just a shame we won't be getting an animated adaptation of this, as today's standards don't allow it. :(
All in all, I drew this again, but differently, through the life of Scrooge McDuck from childhood, through the Klondike period to the period of old age. And around him are people who helped him a lot in his life starting with his parents Fergus and Downy, then his sisters Matilda and Hortense, his ancestor Sir Quackly McDuck, Ratchet Gearloose (Gyro's grandfather), Casey Coot (son of Clinton Coot and brother of Grandma Duck), Goldie O'Gilt (his love from the Klondike days), Donald Duck, Gyro Gearloose (with Little Helper) and Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck. I wanted to add more characters, but unfortunately not all of them would fit in one place. Yes, plus his first coin he ever earned.
I hope you like this drawing and I hope more people know about Don Rosa comics and read them. Also this is a tribute and related to Scrooge's 75th anniversary of his first appearance as well as his birthday which is in November. Yes, and also my gift for my friend @pick-and-shovel-laborer as well as other Scrooge McDuck fans and fans of Don Rosa comics. This is what this song is about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWwSVOo5K_k

Happy late 80th birthday, Grandma Duck! And happy 76th anniversary of Scrooge McDuck!
I haven't posted anything related to birthdays and anniversaries for a long time, but here I am posting this, even though I'm already more than a month late (because I've been away for a long time).
But, regardless, I'm publishing a special post for one of my favorite characters from Donald Duck comics and the Duckverse in general, as well as one of the best fictional parents, Grandma Duck (Elvira Coot).
It first appears in a short Donald Duck comic in a newspaper published on September 27, 1943. The comic was written by Bob Karp and drawn by Al Taliaferro and George Waiss, and Grandma Duck would later become one of the main characters in Donald Duck comics. Elvira Coot is the daughter of Clinton Coot (founder of the Junior Woodchucks) and Gertrude Gadwall and granddaughter of Cornelius Coot and sister of Casey Coot. Living for a long time on the farm, she learned to be an excellent gardener, cook and a good keeper and breeder of farm animals. And yes, she raised many children, her own, but also her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her nephews and nieces from the side and became a role model for all important members of the Duck family. She especially influenced the life of Donald Duck and that is why she is the best parent in the Duck family. And she is the oldest living as well as among the oldest people in Duckburg.
It mostly gained popularity in comics, first in America, then in European comics. Unfortunately, she didn't appear much in the animation. She only appeared in the Wonderful World of Color episode "This is Your Life, Donald Duck" in 1960, as a cameo character in "Mickey's Christmas Carol", as a cameo character in Sport Goofy in Soccermania and as a cameo character in the original Ducktales episode "Horse Scents" and in two video games. However, in most of the comics, Grandma Duck appears with Gus Goose. Yes, she is helped by two mice from Cinderella, Jaq and Gus.
Also, although this post won't be as dedicated to it as Grandma Duck, let me say that on November 14, 1947, Scrooge McDuck first appeared in the comic "Christmas on Bear Mountain" by Carl Barks, and more about that here: https://ducklooney.tumblr.com/post/701216162745352192
So Happy Anniversary to both Grandma Duck and Scrooge McDuck! Yes, if anyone is asking, in the Marco Rota comics, Scrooge and Grandma are sibling, so maybe this is related. However, they are totally separate and only have connections through Scrooge's sister Hortense and Elvira's son Quackmore.
And now pictures of Grandma Duck from her first appearance until today. Happy belated birthday Grandma Duck and happy anniversary of Scrooge McDuck's first appearance. If you love these characters, feel free to like and reblog this!

The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck Retrospective Chapter 10: The Invader of Fort Duckburg "It'll Be a Dark Day When I Give in To a Mere Superpower"
Tumblr media
And we're back. For those of you newer around here a few years ago in the middle of my ducktales fevor, I started a retrospective of one of my favorite comic books of all time: The 12 part epic the Life and Times of Scrooge Mcduck, covering Scrooge's rise from a shoeshine in glasgow barely scraping by to the Richest Duck in the World and what he gained and lost along the way. I had a ton of fun covering this one but sadly.. I eventually gave up. I felt the years had piled up too much and i'd never get back to finishing it.
Enter Kev, who out of nowhere asked if he could comission the final three chapters. I happily agreed as not only can I finally finish one of the biggest works of my reviewing career, but it opens me up to do all the suplimental chapters at some point, paticuarlly "dream of a lifetime".
For now though, we're celebrating President's Day with chapter 10, my faviorite of the series and Don Rosa's too. It's largely for the same reasons: the story is tightly paced, covering only two days compared to most chapters pile of years, funny, furious, and for me at least has more of hortense, who I love dearly and who finds the love she deserves this chapter.. via a lot of shouting of course as is the McDuck/Duck Family way. Unless your these two.
Tumblr media
Chapter 10 is the rare chapter that picks up almost exactly where we left off, with a much shorter time skip of a few weeks, skipping our heroes travels from Scotland to the US and focusing on Scrooge and his sisters as they set up his empire , here in Duckburg. What follows is a farce, a romantic comedy, an action set piece, and one of the most badass panels ever put to ink, which for this series is saying a lot.
If you'd like to catch up on the previous 9 chapters, I just complied all of them into one handy dandy post.
So go check that out if you fancy then come back here as we get scrooge vs the United States of America itself.
We open the issue with a quick recap before we pan to our heroes, puttering along their Duckburg. Part of what makes this chapter neat is seeing the town before Scrooge made it into a thriving city: here it's just a few buildings and a small farm.
Tumblr media
As scrooge puts it "a town as big as it is wide". Our heroes are riding what could charitably be considered a car, which Scrooge got cheap and didn't read was a piece of scrap as his eyes are entirley shot at this point after the Yukon. I do like that while his eyesight fading is partially herditary, Rosa provides an explination for why it went down hill so fast: 6 years in the yukon with all that snow was hell on them. He leads his sisters up his new property with the help of a local farmer.... then back down his newly aquiried Killmule Hill
Tumblr media
I love this gag and I applaud Don Rosa's art here. He makes a mean impact siloutte. I also didn't notice till writing this review but you also see Matilda and Scrooge's hats over the corn. Hortense would join in the gag but she hasn't got a hat bope a dope a dope dope.
The Farmer renames the hill "Killmotor Hill", for the auto age... I love that detail too. Of course it wouldn't of always been killmotor hill. Though whoever was running mules so hard up that hill they were killing them needs a swift kick.
The lady of the farm offers to rent Scrooge a shed, seeing as she owns most of the land around here and reveals herself as Elvira Duck, knee coot, sister of Casey, the man who sold Scrooge the hill in the first place and she soon introduces her family.
Tumblr media
Yup this is Donald's family including Grandma McDuck, the character I most regret not making it into ducktales in time. Grandma McDuck is donald's sweet country grandma who reminds me of my own sweet country grandma, who spends her days working hard and yelling at donald's cousin gus to actually do some work for a change. He never does.
Humperdink is Donald's grandpa, passed int he preset, while Daphne and Eider are his aunt and uncle, all grabbed from various barks ephimera or the offical family tree he made. Daphne has golden hair, supernatural luck and the misfortune of having birthed Gladstone, while Eider is naturally Fethry's dad, who Rosa reluctnatly included in some versions of the tree as Fethry wasn't a barks creation. Me.. I don't see any harm in Fethry being included. Barks isn't the be all end all of the universe... he is damn awesome though and I respect that. case in point the names were curbed from various non barks grandma duck stories.
You might notice though I didn't mention Donald's dad. Well he was just running behind and has the calm, measured response to the accident you'd expect from Donald's father.
Tumblr media
Yup: this folks.. is how Donald's parents met. And it's one of the best scene's in the series, especially what happens right after.
Tumblr media
It's comedy gold, fits him perfectly , and once again seems to be the mcduck way... unless your these two
Tumblr media
I mean does it count if it only started with ONE of them shouting? Riddle for the ages.
As for why the Woodchucks are involved they've taken old fort duckburg atop the hill as their headquarters. He shouts get off my land and they do.. but naturally an old man shouting at them isn't enough to convince these children of land ownership so worried he might be a crook, they call for help in the only way the nation knew how at the time
Tumblr media
Yes folks there's a reason this was a president's day specail as the phone tag gets so bad THE PRESIDENT HIMSELF gets informed a "scottish billionare has taken over a military installation on the coast", a great gag. Incensed Teddy reactivates the rough riders and prepares to deal with this personally fist to face. h back when presidents could legally punch corrupt billionaires in the face. If only Biden would pass that legislation. or any legislation.
It takes a week for him to get moblized as our heroes have spent it taking the barrels up river, as Scrooge begins his lousy streak of taking advantage of his family. This will only get worse from here and is never as funny as Don Rosa thinks.
Anywho, Scrooge knocks on a homesteader's door but they refuse to answer or be helpful. Turns out it's the beagle boys, lead by the future grandpa beagle. Rosa admits making him the same character makes him 165 by the time of "A Little Something Special" but honestly this universe is JUST weird enough for that to be plausible. Not 2017 DuckTales levels of madness
Tumblr media
But still pretty nutty. So as scrooge takes a money bath to Hortense's exasperation some guests arrive at the fort. Who is it?
Tumblr media
Yeah the Beagles quickly kidnap hortense, having gone after Scrooge for revenge for putting them in stir back in chapter 2. THey also lock scrooge in one of his own barrels. Beofre he can break it through sheer force of pissed off, a shell breaks it... and the beagles and scrooge both have bigger problems
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scrooge's response is naturally "Get off my lawn you damn united state's navy!" which gets him blasted at. The Beagles are thankfully too busy begging scrooge to give up so they can live, leaving Scrooge to do what he does best: be badass in the most insane way possible
Tumblr media
By godfrey I love this stupid gag.
Teddy, being the only entiity nearly as badass as scrooge , responds in kind leading to a clash for the ages
Tumblr media
I love every part of this scene from the sheer badassery of scroog'es one liner to that final charge. And of course best of all hortense taking on an ENTIRE CALVARY and WINNING before some traditional duck flirting as is the way.. except maybe also for these two
Tumblr media
At any rate the conflict is over: Teddy takes out the trash and one of Scrooge's greatest headaches begins in earnest
Tumblr media
WE cut to 6 months later. So I guess it's three days but semantics. Scrooge has built his money bin and plans to fill it and while Matilda is doubtful scrooge is joyful, even giving the Woodchucks a doorknob as their calling in Teddy stopped the beagle boys. As we end the chapter we get the full sight of the greatest structure in all of duckburg and one of the most iconic locations in all of disney.
Tumblr media
And thus we end this chapter.. and it's a laugh riot with tons of gorgeously drawn action, well done punchlines and bunches of lore stuffed in. IT's everything great about this series compacted into a tight smaller scale story... granted it's a smaller scale story that involved the entire navy and marines, but for Scrooge that's small.
Character wise since this is only maybe a week after the previous one Scrooge hasn't changed much.. but like last time you can see the cracks in his personality here and there, the darker parts that are about to consume him: He uses his sisters as free labor, yells at just about everyone and his response to every conflict is to shout at it. Granted it usually worked, but i'ts clear the more vicious sides of scrooge that never completely go away are creeping more and more into him and overshadowing the noble man he once was. they haven't completely consumed him yet.. but well that's for next time, sometime this spring or early summer.
Rather than leave on that ominous note i'd like to talk Hortense and Quackmore some more. I love them and while their chemistry's simple, they yell until they bang hard, simple, they are genuinely adorable and it's easy to see where a lot of donald comes from just watching the two: Hortense's obession with dating "a real cowboy" before meeting quackmore and sorta zoning out mid rage both have traces of Donald's own hyperfixations and tendency to leap without thinking. It's nice to sneak those subtle bits in and I applaud rosa for it.
One last thing related to the two: turns out this causeda BIG stir in italy and some other parts of europe. Rosa was suprised as , due to the family tree I mentioned, the names of donald's parents weren't a bit secret. He also took another shot at the duck comics not being big in the us, the usual Don Rosa Yells at Cloud Stuff. Point is he was shocked by it.. but me .. I get it. It's the same thing that happened when Della showed up in Ducktales. Yes a comic had given an explination and her name had been seen, and we'll see her breifly in chapter 11 of this very comic.. but we didn't really KNOW her and most things she's in are either obscure , said comic wasn't reprinted here far as I can tell, or simply a mentoin. We knew OF her bu tdidn't know her as a person.
That was the same with Hortense and Quackmore before this story: We knew of them and despite Rosa keeping it vauge for readers less familliar with the family tree, it's pretty obvious from the moment we see her grown up that Hortense is Donald's mom. Here we get to see her as a young person herself, her eccentrcities, her rage, and who she really is. We also get to see Quackmore who.. okay he's just perpetually pissed off but it's still something. There's a diffrence between a name on some suplimentary material and a character and Don Rosa created a fantastic one in hortense, to the point i'm still disapointed we never met her in the series.
Next Time: The darkest day of Scrooge's life, some attempts to recocnile na old racist story, and the hardest chapter of this comic to read. Thanks for reading.. and welcome back.

Quick break from the bad batch brainrot, but:
One of the hilarious side effects of the various attempts to give Scrooge McDuck a backstory in various comics is that the name gets even more ridiculous. He’s called “Scrooge McDuck” because Carl Barks needed an Ebenezer Scrooge stand-in for a Christmas issue of the Donald Duck comics. He needed a ducky antagonist, so he slapped that name on him and made him Donald Duck’s jerk-ass uncle who hates everyone.
Eeexcccceeeept that the comic readers liked the character, and Barks did too, so he kept coming back, got a more solid characterization after a few different iterations, and then eventually got his own comic series. Which ran for decades. They’re all almost one off episode stories, but Barks, Scarpa, and others kept inventing other characters (parents, siblings, various Duck relatives) connected to Scrooge and Donald as needed, later comic writers/artists on both sides of the Atlantic made attempts to tie it all together into different backstories, and so.
What you end up with.
Is this whole extended Duck-McDuck-Coot family full of people who either have perfectly normal-if-old-fashioned people names (Fergus, Matilda, Hortense, Molly, Elvira, Donald, Gladstone, Casey, etc) or bird pun names (Fethry, Downy, Eider, Roast, etc) aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnd Scrooge.
Which isn’t a real name. It’s something Charles Dickens just made up and that Barks ran with. Because he named Scrooge according to his one-off antagonist naming conventions and then unexpectedly went and made him a main character. And, yes, the most sensible option here is to just ignore how silly it is in context, because it’s a collection of Disney comics about ducks.
The funnier option, though? The funnier option is to actually think about Fergus and Downy McDuck living in mid-century Scotland a couple decades after the publication of the only book in which the name “Scrooge” appears, having their first kid, and then deciding to name their kid that. Like it wasn’t tempting fate or asking for trouble. I’m too amused by this.

Here's an unfinished artwork of Donald Duck's family tree, on his father's side! Sadly I realized my mix-up when I finished inking, I forgot to put a space or banner where I could put their names!!
I thought maybe I could just finish and color it anyways but I messed up the coloring bad so Imma just post this here, forever unfinished. Well, hope you like it anyways!
Here are their names by the way:
Cornelius Coot - Mystery Lady*
Clinton Coot - Gertrude Gadwall
Casey Coot -Elvira Coot(Grandma Duck) - Humperdink Duck (Grandpa Duck)
Daphne Duck - Quackmore Duck - Eider Duck
*So when looking up Donald's family trees I found out about Donald's potential Great-Great Grandmother who had a child(Clinton) with Cornelius Coot. The name I found for her was...uh, Pluckahontas. Ok. Not using that name, so Mystery Lady it is.
Apparently Don Rosa knew about her and suggested that Cornelius and her never married, so that's a little more info I suppose. But there's not much more info about her, if anyone's got more info let me know, I'm very curious.

My Headcanon Of Genealogical DNA test results based on the Don Rosa Duck/Coot/McDuck Family Tree
Clinton Coot was 50% English 50% Native American. Maybe of the the Ohlone Tribe, because Duckburg is located close to where San Francisco is. Clinton traveled to all the Indigenous people to write down their knowledge. He Married Gertrude Gadwall who, I am just going to say, is 100% English. Not a lot of info on her.
Elvira Is 75% English, and 25% Ohlone Native American. My headcanon is that Elvira and her children and grandchildren participate in The Annual Ohlone Pow Wow. She married Humperdink. What I can find about the name Humperdinck is its German. Also, the Distelfink is Pennsylvanian German. I could see him having an affinity with the traveling painter that painted the Triple Distelfink.  I think I’ll say he is 60% German and 40% English.
Quackmore is 12.5% Native American, 30% German and 57.5% English. He Married Hortense McDuck. She is 50% Irish and 50% Scottish.
That makes Donald and Della 6.25% Ohlone Native American, 15% German, 25% Irish and 25% Scottish, and 28.75% English. Donald and Della have the McDuck Tartan Outfits that Hortense made for them.
Daphne would be the same as Quackmore. 12.5% Ohlone Native American, 30% German and 57.5% English.
I looked up the name Gustave it was Swedish but there is also English and French. I would put Goostave as 30% English, 30% Swedish, 25% French %15 Irish. His family don’t want to talk about their Irish part, but it is there.
Gladstone would be 6.25% Ohlone Native American, 7.5% Irish, 12.5% French 15% German, 15% Swedish and 43.75% English
Gladstone in an act of rebellion attached himself to the Irish part of his Fathers Family. He Read about the Green Man and Shamrocks and incorporated that into his style. Daphne and Hortense were pregnant at the same time. Daphne asked Hortense about Scotland to bond. Hortense told her about some neighbors they had in Glasgow whose last name was Gledstanes or Gladstone. Daphne loved the name so much. Gustave’s family disproved of the name they wanted Goostave the 2nd. Goostave just let his wife have her way. It was a joyful name.
Eider would be the same as Quackmore 12.5% Ohlone Native American, 30% German, and 57.5 English
I don’t want Lulubelle to be blond most loons are black or gray anyways. I would give her black hair with a little bit of Auburn in the sunlight. I think she would be a Yellow-billed Loon because the beak looks bigger chinned and the Fethery in DT17 has kinda big chin. Loons are mostly in the Artic Region. I am going to say she is Inupiaq (singular) woman. 60% Inupiat and 40% Irish. I think her parents moved south for her health. She was skinny and would get cold too easy. People thought she was weird, but she just had a different culture. Lulubelle didn’t see any reason to conform. Eider Resonated with her. He was so proud of his Native Heritage and seeing her live her Native life inspired him. They named their first boy WhiteWater a native name and their second boy they named off his description Feathery. She raised her boys to respect nature and to be themselves.
WhiteWater and Fethery Duck are 6.25% Ohlone Native American, 20% Irish, 15% German, 28.75% English, 30% Inupiat.
Disclaimer:
1.       Almost no one in the world is %100 of anything there is so much mixing and globalization since the beginning of humanity.
2.       English meaning coming from England not the language.
3.       I don’t totally believe in the accuracy of DNA Ancestry Tests but they are fun things to do and it can help people who are stuck with their Genealogies.
4.       Native American or Indigenous blood quaintly laws are very controversial. I am not down with outsiders judging how much of a native you are. I feel like Tribes can do what they want. To me they can invite/adopt anyone they want to into their tribe or kick anyone out of the tribe. Your blood percentage doesn’t make you more or less native. Your leaders and your participation can determine that and NOT outsiders.
5.       Not all Indigenous tribes that live in the Artic are Inupiat. I just choose this because it is the most northern tribe in Alaska.
6.       This Family is %100 a Modern American Family. I feel like all modern American Families have Immigrants and a mixing of different Ethnicities in them.
7.       This was done for fun only.

Found a Duck family tree!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, i was browsing through Pinterest, and i found this! Coudn’t find the creator tho (I’m 30 minutes trying to find them), apparently this isn’t from a/the comics?
The changes in this one are that Casey Coot is Elvira’s husband instead of brother, which is weird cuz they still have the same last name.
And that Humperdink is now Gretchen Grebe’s husband, instead of being Elvira’s husband.
Aaaand lastly that Goosetave is Quackmore's sibling instead of Daphne ???? Weird because he’s a.. Goose
Yeah, that’s it

YAAAAAASSSSSSS!!! SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS ONE AGAIN! ❤️💛💖❤️💖💛💛💛 The colors are so gorgeous and I still love the texture on Scrooge’s coat 😂😄

This is a purely self-indulgent piece I did last year but didn’t post.  Rl has been holding me back a bit this year in the art department so I thought I would toss this one out there.  This is part of a group of photos that Scrooge has hidden in an old dusty photo album somewhere.  It is a photo taken in Dawson on Scrooge and Goldie’s wedding day.  Yes, there is a convoluted story to go with it but since I am not a great writer… 😏
Btw…dude on the right is Casey Coot.

Back with the 5th and 6th sets! 😁😁
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, if you're not familiar with some characters, keep reading 😊
For the 5th set, we have:
1.) Clinton Coot - Donald's great-grandfather, the founder of The Junior Woodchucks.
2.) Gertrude Gadwall - the wife of Clinton Coot.
3.) Fergus Mcduck - the father of Scrooge McDuck.
4.) Downy O'Drake - the mother of Scrooge McDuck.
5.) Gretchen Grebe - Gus Goose's grandmother, the wife of Casey Coot.
6.) Casey Coot - Gus Goose's grandfather and brother to Elvira Coot, an important figure in Scrooge's history.
7.) Kildare Coot - Donald's cousin, an eccentric one.
8.) Moby Duck - Donald's relative, a whaler.
— Clinton Coot, Gertrude Gadwall, Fergus McDuck, Downy O'Drake, Gretchen Grebe, and Casey Coot are all creations of Don Rosa(w/ Fergus originating from Mark Worden's family tree). Kildare Coot is a creation of Romano Scarpa and Moby Duck is of Vic Lockman's.
For the 6th set, we have:
1.)-2.) Titus McDuck/Dingus McDuck - Scrooge McDuck's grandfather, a coal miner.
3.) Jake Mcduck - Scrooge McDuck's uncle, a stockyard hand.
4.) Angus "Pothole" McDuck - Scrooge McDuck's uncle, a riverboat captain and later, a writer of dime novels.

7.) Bhaltair McDuck - Scrooge McDuck's uncle, once the richest man of Edinburgh.
8.) Douglas McDuck - Scrooge McDuck's cousin, a miner.
— The two designs of Scrooge's grandfather shown are based on those of Tony Strobl and Don Rosa. Jake McDuck, Angus McDuck and Quagmire McDuck are creations of Carl Barks while Rosa created Molly Mallard. Bhaltair McDuck is a creation of Kari Korhonen and is featured in a recent story. Douglas McDuck is of Vicar's.
Note : Some of the portraits here were previously used in my other tree though if you look closely, there's some differences. It is because I've changed it a bit. There's a chance that I might do it again which means that the portraits here are not the final version.

Cuthbert Coot, also known as Cousin Coot?
Lol Cuthbert is funny 'cause he's only been in two comics: one published in 1945, one published in 2020. He's another character that pretty much only exists in Family Trees.
Cuthbert first appeared in a Carl Barks comic, though Barks never included him in his Duck Family Tree images. Some European artists included him in theirs, and then Don Rosa did, too - made him Gus Goose’s uncle, one of Casey Coot’s children, and Elvira Coot’s nephew.
Donald wants to show the boys that he's a great cowboy so he visits Cuthbert's cattle ranch.
Tumblr media
And that's it! Cuthbert doesn't do anything in this comic except point out that one of his horses is very mean and then he doesn't pay attention while Donald gets beat up by the horse. He seems a little absent-minded, but very nice.
In his 2020 comic (from the Netherlands), Cuthbert sends Donald a telegram asking for help. His neighbors are harassing him, trying to get him to sell his ranch to them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here he’s saying the neighbors stole like fifty of his cows. And he mentions they don’t have guns ‘cause the sheriff won’t allow them (lol) so they’re hitting him with slingshot rocks. Then thanks to some Magical and Mystical Native Americans (yeah this is from 2020), Donald is able to get the neighbors in trouble with the cops and Cuthbert buys their land instead.
Tumblr media
And that’s it! We don’t really get much of Cuthbert’s personality because both comics are just about Donald trying to do cowboy things. The plot of this Cuthbert comic is actually really similar to the plot of Whitewater Duck’s first comic lol

Grandma Duck with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Even though I'm already late for posts and such, I certainly don't forget some things. I have a lot of obligations, so I don't have time to post everything, and I apologize for that.
In any case, I'm posting on the occasion of a belated birthday and that of one of the important people in the Duckverse, which is Donald's grandmother, under the name Grandma Duck, that is, Elvira Coot. On September 27, 1943, Al Taliaferro drew a cartoon of Donald's grandmother, and from then on she would be a very important person in Donald's life. Most often she appears in comics. So I drew her as the center of attention, and around her are her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Yes, Grandma Duck is the daughter of Clinton Coot and granddaughter of Cornelius Coot and sister of Casey Coot and wife of Humpernick Duck (or Grandpa Duck) and mother of Eider Duck, Daphne Duck and Quackmore Duck. And there are her grandchildren, Donald Duck, Gladstone Gander, Fethry Duck, Abner Whitewater Duck and of course her nephews-grandchildren (on her brother's side) Gus Goose and Kildare Coot. And great-grandchildren Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck as well as Dugan Duck (Fetrhry's nephew) and Shamrock Gander (Gladstone's nephew). Yes, one more person is missing, but I don't care. Don't worry she's alive and I mean Della Duck, Donald's sister.
Of course, on October 17, 1937, Al Taliaferro and Tad Obsorne wrote the Donald's Nephews comic where Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie appeared for the first time so happy anniversary. And happy late birthday to Grandma Duck!
I hope you like this drawing and sorry for some mistakes. The real Duck family.

Happy late birthday, Gus Goose!
Although I'm already late, there is definitely something related to this character who is underrated, but still an important cousin of Donald.
He first appeared in a classic short film called "Donald's Cousin Gus" on May 19, 1939, and 83 years have passed since then. Yes, Gus was created by the genius Carl Barks and Al Taliaferro (he first appeared in comics in Just in Time for Dinner, May 9, 1938) and is known for being very lazy, hating to work, sleeping a lot and most importantly, he likes to eat a lot. Yes, he reminds me a little of Garfield the Cat and Patrick the starfish, but still Gus has slightly different characteristics from them. He appears frequently in comics (Barks often used Gus), and since a few years ago in several cartoons, especially in House of Mouse and Mickey Mouse Cartoons by Paul Rudish. He often lives with Grandma Duck (Elvira Coot), although he is not his own grandmother, but his aunt's grandmother, because her brother Casey Coot is the father of Fanny Coot, who is the mother of Gus Goose. Yes, Gus's father's name is Luke the Goose. His character was the inspiration for the emergence of other characters, especially for Baby Huey. Interestingly, Gus Goose was a prototype for characters who resembled him, such as Vacation Van Honk in the OG Ducktales series and Gustav Goose in Quack Pack. Yes, Gus has his family, and he is certainly related to Donald.
So, happy birthday to you, Gus Goose, and I'm sorry I'm late! Yes, if you like Gus Goose, feel free to like this and reblog this.
