Szövő szakkör 4. nap Ma ki-ki az addigi kedvenc technikájával kezdett. Várt ránk néhány batikolt/lécezett anyag bontása, újabb érdekes minták kerültek elő. Volt, aki ma a tegnap festett, kimosott trikójában jelent meg! A dió továbbra is növényi festő legkedvesebb barátja és a birs levél újabb meglepetést okozott. Mivel mára a festőlevek és mi is kissé kimerültünk, a fazekak mellett ácsorgás helyett a bíbelődősebb kártyaszövéssel ismerkedtünk. Mértünk vágtunk, lukasztottunk, feliratoztunk, majd rajzot értelmeztünk, fűztünk, újrafűztünk... Talán ennek a technikának a megértése okozta a legtöbb fejtörést, de a lassan alakuló minták alapján elmondhatjuk, nagyon megérte belekóstolni! A négy nap végére Barbara színköre is egész szépen összeállt, melyet majd hosszabb távon is szeretnénk a szakkörben felhasználni. Zárásul levontunk néhány tanulságot és döbbenten számolgattuk, mennyi mindenre nem jutott idő. I transferred one of my projects over to a new loom I received from a friend, and it's so wonderful to not have to tie my projects to my dresser anymore! Anyways, here's a video of what 6 hole card weaving looks like. Spent the latter half of last week cranking out the voiceover for a very long presentation which means I spent half of Thursday and most of Friday staring at the computer. So today I decided to put off editing and grading the Fence Hopper Socks pattern until tomorrow and stare at something not on a screen. Inspired by @hellohydrangea ‘s foray into tablet weaving, I bought a set of cards and a variety pack of crochet cotton. I also realized that the loom she had built looked a lot like my jewelry loom. So after many many hours of trial and error, I got it warped and started a small sampler. Once it’s set up, it goes really smoothly, and the set up issues are totally due to the fact that I was trying to figure out how to translate it to my loom. Despite not having any pets, today I put the finishing touches on a card-woven whale fluke themed pet leash! Feeling quite proud of my first attempt at such. Following the advice of @silly-jellyghoty , it has snap hooks at both ends as well as 2 D rings sewn in to provide 5ft,4ft, and just under 3ft options.
