Finding Nosy

Prompt: SEVENTEEN is on a break. While they’re walking around in Europe, Wonwoo makes eye contact with a girl, a CARAT. He feels nervous and is about to warn the boys just in case she screams and attracts attention. He’s surprised because, instead of what he was expecting, she just smiled at him and bowed before walking away, leaving Wonwoo intrigued by the girl.

As the boys were having fun and taking pictures together, I stood at the side, capturing the moment, the scenery, the ambiance and simply just appreciating every little thing to make the most out of our vacation. We decided to spend the second half of our break together here at Europe, it's our second day just roaming around and we found a park with a really nice landscape which the boys loved, hence the photoshoot and the chaos beside me.

The city wasn't busy, but there was still quite a number of people walking around. So far no one has recognized us yet, which we're thankful for, but it doesn't mean we're not careful. My roaming gaze stopped when my eyes met another from the other side of the park. The voice at the back of my head telling me I've gazed at the brown eyes behind those glasses before. The Carat bong keyring on her bag caught my attention, allowing me to recognize her as a CARAT and the moment her eyes flashed with recognition, I internally panicked. As much as I love CARAT, my overthinking mind immediately assumed she was going to scream and give away our location. Just as I was about to warn the boys, just in case, her eyes turned into crescents. She smiled and bowed for a few seconds before straightening her back and walking away, as if she didn't just see me. For a second, I froze, then I was running, the shouts of the members came deaf on my ears as I widened our distance.

I hummed, feeling satisfied with the work I've finished. Downing the rest of my coffee, I thanked the staff before leaving the café I was staying on. I've been traveling around different countries and cities for the past 3 months, to wherever my feet would bring me. It was a dream I always wanted to do and now I am able to. Now, I'm breathing in the streets of Europe with a giddy feeling in my chest.

The park became my favorite place after spending almost a week here. It was peaceful, and calming, especially at night, when I first discovered it for the first time. Not only was it beautiful, but it was just next to the hotel I was staying at. A quaint café just beside it and a pizzeria 3 blocks away from it and they sold one of the best cheese pizzas I've ever had, so of course, I fell in love.

The sun was starting to set, so I began walking to the pizzeria to order take out when I made eye contact with a man several feet away from me. He had a mask and a cap and was wearing a long coat, his attire almost all black from head to toe. I almost gasped when I realized it was my bias, I have enough photos of him in my phone to recognize even a strand of his hair. Well not really, but you get the point. I almost forgot they were on a break, I'm glad they finally have time to relax and enjoy. So, with a smile and a bow, I left them to their privacy, a feeling of contentment fluttering in my chest despite being a few feet away from them.

I was almost at my destination when footsteps caught my attention. I turned around to see him running towards my direction. Confused, I stepped aside to let him pass, only to have him stop in front of me, hands gripping my shoulders as he hunched, to catch his breath.

In all my years studying at school, none of my teachers ever taught me what to do when your bias suddenly runs to you, holds your shoulders in a tight grip and breathes the same oxygen as you for standing too close. Oh my gosh, please let me go so I can google how to breathe. Spare me, please, I just wanted my pizza.

Multiple footsteps echoed soon after, the rest of the members catching up with their bandmate who paid them no mind. Some of the members looking at me questioningly but I could only respond with a confused shrug. I'm just as clueless as them.

Finally, Jeon Wonwoo raised his head, stepping closer to me, making me step back, as much as I didn't want to. I wanted to ask him if he was alright, but he spoke before I could. His words confusing me.

"Nosy?"

"Excuse me? All I wanted to do was get my pizza and go home, why am I the nosy one?"

"T-that's not what I meant!" The rapper exclaimed, fumbling with his words as me and the rest of his members watched the rare sight. He huffed, still out of breath, "Are you Nosy? Like the person?"

I merely answered him with an unimpressed stare. Woozi facepalming from my peripheral vision, I don't blame him.

"Okay hyung, what is this about? Do you know each other?" Mingyu asked, turning to me without waiting for Wonwoo to answer, where for the nth time, I shrugged again, "I honestly have no idea what's happening right now, I know him as Jeon Wonwoo of SEVENTEEN, but personally, no I don't. I'm just as confused as the rest of you."

Upon hearing my response, the deep-voiced member faltered. Eyebrows furrowing in mixed confusion and frustration. He narrowed his eyes before his expression returned normal.

"Ah, I'm sorry, I must've mistaken you for someone." He apologized, bowing a bit then gesturing to the pizzeria, "You were going to enter?"

Still confused with his sudden dismissal of the issue, I nodded to his question.

"Okay then, would you like to eat with us?"

I remained silent during the whole dinner, simply watching and listening as the others ask and get to know her, curious about meeting a fellow Korean in the middle of Europe. But most probably curious as to why I chased after her.

I leaned forwards a bit, also curious about her occupation just as Hansol asked.

"I'm curious too Noona, you must be really rich to be able to travel like this." Seungkwan added.

"You don't need to call me noona, I'm a 98' liner too and I'm just a freelance graphic designer and Webtoon author and I just also happened to work at my friend's restaurant, that's why I earn so much."

Srungkwan beamed, clapping in his seat, "Oh! Another 98' liner! Which month are you?"

"April."

"Aw, I still have to call you noona"

Dino sulked but my lips quirked up at the small confirmation I needed.

My Nosy Aeri was born on April too. I just have to make her remember.
