i think maybe people should not be working 12 hours in a row. i think maybe that is bad

#this is about nothing in particular #but we learned recently that in drug testing #the us has a higher requirement than australia to test positive for amphetamines #(as in you can have more in your system before you test positive)#and its because they give it to border pilots who do 24 hour shifts. and dont want them to be testing positive.#and also my sister is a anesthetist and once got in a car crash after a like. 16 hour shift.#but bc shed stopped at her house she couldnt get anything in compensation #its just super fucked and should not be a thing #lauratexts2024 #I JUST THINK THAT MAYBE #PEOPLE WHO HAVE A JOB THAT CAN LITERALLY KILL YOU #SHOULD NOT BE TIRED ON THE JOB

#strato.txt #oil painting #wip #im worried ive unbalanced the composition w the second one on the right tho... its so much closer to the edge #ugh whatever. aunt lizzie is the focus here #i wish i knew what she actually looked like this is just cobbled together from general features of my family #solid build... dark curly hair... bigass ears. she could be one of my cousins. she could be me #ok rq im gonna lay out the story in the tags for anyone who hasnt seen the previous lizzie art #my great-something aunt lizzie was disabled and couldnt walk very well and she died young #she wanted to see the second floor of the farm house real bad but no one ever carried her up there and she died before seeing it #they buried her in a long white dress somewhere down at the creek. we dont know where her graves lost unfortunately #the night she was buried something wearing a white dress walked into the house and up the stairs and disappeared #and sometimes you can hear her down around the creek screaming #somewhere along the line wolves got mixed into the imagery for me #my uncle told me a story about another 'white thing' that was wolfish and would jump on cars #so i just assumed lizzie was a werewolf my whole life #anyways. i think her staying after she died was a manifestation of her desire for autonomy. maybe #maybe if shed had modern accommodations she wouldnt have felt the need to stick around. or maybe she would have idk #either way i think death afforded her control over her own desires in a way she hadnt experienced before #and i think thats why she still hangs around the creek #i hope she would like this. maybe ill take it down there and leave it out for a night when its finished so she can see

Ah. My sister tricked my mom into taking the kids the day before child tax day, so she has money but no kids for the weekend.

My snake's favorite hobbies currently:

-drinking water so fast she starts hacking HARD (seriously the sounds she makes when shes coughing are GUTTERAL i cant even describe them) and since her tank is right next to my head at night it wakes me up. Usually at the wee hours of the morning. I've taken her to the vet recently to confirm she just drinks water too fast and is otherwise 100% healthy she just likes giving me heart attacks when im trying to sleep

gunna be real my mother in law crossed some lines today that i dont even know how to come back from. how do i make 10k in the next 6 months to pack up and leave actually though.

Short answer, yes! Caro’s lived in three different places since leaving their parents, the Datsun they bought with scrapped together cash from their model jobs/beauty pageant winnings as a kid, and a cabin/shed behind the GASCO, once their boss realized they were sleeping in their car and was like, uh, no.

Now they live in a high rise condo in Seattle, I haven’t fully designed it yet but we will see it eventually, both in Seemingly Dark and Mil-Liminal. It’s what you might expect, fairly modern and full of pastels and iridescent stuff. It’s basically a spooky kids Barbie dream house, bordering on cringe in a fun way. It’s got their recording studio and a doorman/security detail who indulge Caro with secret Passcodes and walkie-talkies. They have thus far refused to do any of those celeb house tours so no one really knows where they live or how it looks. They tend to meet people in other places. To be honest even though it’s their ‘dream house’ it’s super fucking lonely and they hate it. They really only go home to record new episodes. That’s why they spend all their time at johns, his house feels like a home, lived in and well loved, even if it’s drafty and cramped. It reminds them of their beloved shed.
