Next week, the Federation of BC Writers is holding an editing intensive, and it’s going to be awesome. I’m particularly excited because one of the sessions will be led by Cheryl Klein (!!! the author of The Magic Words, which is my favorite craft book) ❤️❤️❤️

I’m also doing a session on DREADED FILTER WORDS 😂

1. You don’t need to be a member to attend (though members get a better rate)

2. That said, you don’t need to be in BC (or even Canada) to be a member.

3. It’s ridiculously inexpensive for the amount of programming you get. (Especially since it’s in Canadian dollars 😆)

4. Even if you can’t make sessions live, you’ll have access to the recordings.

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

one time I used the ben affleck smoking reaction image in the family group chat and my mom replied with the funniest possible response which was: "mommy doesn't know who the guy is???" and that phrase has not left my brain since. I'll see blorbos on my dash that I don't recognize and I'll be like well it seems mommy doesn't know who the guy is.
