i just really love tommy gregson okay yeah the guy can be stubborn but he loves paige so much. when he finds out she’s sick he does research on the internet goes into hospitals gets pamphlets the man finds the facts and he looks beyond them, into the tiniest details of what her future, their future together, will look like. and then on top of all of that he asks joan, his friend and one of the people who he trusts most, what she knows, because he wants that much to make sure his understanding is accurate and he knows she won’t bullshit him (i also love that scene for tommy/joan friendship when she says he won’t go through it alone mwah mwah mwah). anyway the point is for me, that scene, and him in it, are the definition of love as a verb, not just a noun. he knows that it’s not enough that he loves paige, he has to know. know exactly what the future holds for her, so he can try and work out how best to support her. know what that might be like for him, so he can do the work and be strong and not be so blindsided by anything that happens. he knows he has to actively love her. and i love him for that.

After 7 years that’s how they end it? Really? Yeah, not surprising. I was wrong and I was right in some cases. Joan did get a somewhat happy ending but then had that little case of something bad. Something did happen to Sherlock and I was completely wrong about Gregson. I would have loved if they went back to England or had more to do with England or had more Kitty. I actually tear up when the father died cause 1. We are made to believe he doesn’t care for Sherlock but he literally dies for him 2. He was a powerful man and to me, it was weird seeing someone so powerful be taken down so easily and 3. Technology got him kill and that’s fucking upsetting. The last two episodes were very good and I love the ending and everything about it. I do feel like they could have gone with another season and I’m curious as to why they had that whole thing with the FBI guy and then not use it later on. I’m actually sad it’s over, I love anything to do with Sherlock Holmes and I loved this version of it.
