CA: unless we stop them. I know I'm asking a lot, but the price of freedom is high; it always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not.

Pickpocket Part 2(Avengers x Child!Reader)
Description: After Clint takes you back to Avengers tower, the rest of the Avengers realize who you are, and most of them are not very happy with you. It’s certainly an interesting conversation when you wake up, but slowly, they start to warm up to you.
Tell me if you want a third part, guys! Part one here
To @prepareforsomestrangethings @captainam-erika-trash @bxtchboy69 @creation-magician @viarogers @queenshadow142003 @witchxaf I know I’ve said this already, but seriously, I can’t thank you guys enough for everything. I love you all!
The living room went completely silent at the arrival of the two master assassins, everyone staring at the little bundle in their resident archer’s arms.
“Lady Natasha, Brother Clint, you have returned!” Thor, who had just returned to Earth from Asgard, shouted gleefully as he walked towards them, completely oblivious to the awkward atmosphere that had appeared in the room and asking the question that was on everybody’s minds but which they weren’t quite sure how to go about asking. “Who is the young maiden in your arms?”
“She tried to rob Clint and then fainted, so we brought her back here,” Natasha stated bluntly. Clint glared at her in frustration before turning back to the others, who were already on guard.
“The kid was starving,” he attempted to explain. “I think she passed out from hunger.” The others in the room glanced at the bundle of coats, still obviously wary, and Clint rolled his eyes. “For God’s sake, the poor thing weighs next to nothing, and she’s freezing to the touch. I’m pretty sure the coat is heavier than she is.”
“Lay her down on the coach. I’ll grab some blankets,” Steve finally piped up. Clint sighed in relief and brought her over to the very long couch where he gently set her down, resting her head on one of the throw pillows. He brushed a few strands of hair out of her face, frowning when she still felt colder than a block of ice.
“Let me take a look at her,” Bruce offered. Clint nodded in thanks and stepped back. Bruce paused, his eyes wide.
“What’s wrong?” Clint asked, his stomach turning in worry. Was he too late? Was she already gone?
“That’s the girl from the library.” Everyone froze at the words that fell out of Bruce’s mouth.
“No frickin’ way, let me see,” Tony rushed forward, peering over the back of the couch. “Oh my god, she’s the kid who took my watch! It really was the same girl!”
“And the one who stole my money,” Steve added, setting the pile of blankets down next to her before moving to start a fire in the nearby fireplace.
“Well, I guess that solves that mystery,” Tony crossed his arms. “She couldn’t have been actually starving. There’s no way that watch sells for anything under 2,000. She lied to you so you wouldn’t turn her in.”
Clint shook his head. “No, that doesn’t make any sense. She’d already gotten away when she fainted.”
Tony rolled his eyes. “Alright, so then she stashed it to sell later so she wouldn’t be caught.”
“If you had a 2,000 dollar watch lying around, why would you ever wear a ratty old coat that obviously doesn’t even keep the cold out?” Natasha commented thoughtfully, gesturing at the flimsy piece of clothing.
That seemed to knock Bruce from his thoughts. “She’s soaking wet, we need to get her out of these clothes. Nat, do you have anything she could wear?” Natasha nodded and silently left the room to fetch the clothing as Bruce started to peel off the soaked-through layers one by one until she was left in just a t-shirt and sweatpants, both littered with holes and tears and both obviously far too short for her but still loose against her skeletal frame. Natasha took the job from there, exchanging the old clothing for a pair sweats, which despite being a size small, seemed to drown the girl in fabric before covering her in the blankets and moving her closer to the fire.
After that, everyone settle down around the living room, each of them seeming to understand the unspoken agreement that they would wait to decide what on what they would do next until after she woke up. So, that’s how they stayed for the next 2 hours.
-- Your POV --
I slowly cracked my eyes open, the light flooding in and immediately giving me a headache. Huh, I guess I didn’t die. That’s a good thing, right?
I brought a hand to my forehead as I slowly sat up, my eyes shut tight as I did my best not to throw up. God, I was so hungry. At least I wasn’t cold anymore, though. Maybe it’s just that I’ve gone completely numb... or crazy, because instead of just not being cold, I actually feel pretty warm.
I opened my eyes again and stared down at the blanket covering me and the couch I was sitting on. Oh geez that can’t be good. I looked back up and around, doing my best to stay completely silent as my eyes flickered from one person to the next.
The man I had robbed only just a few hours ago sat in a chair right in front of the couch, snoring softly with his head lolled back. At a table nearby, typing away on a computer, was the man from the library who only had 4 dollars in his wallet. Sitting at the same table was a very big, very muscular man with long blonde hair who I’d never seen before, but judging by the massive hammer that was placed beside him, I doubted he was good news. Standing at the kitchen sink was the man who’d stopped me from falling when I was taking his wallet. Sitting behind a bar, nursing a glass of what looked to be scotch, was Tony freaking Stark, who I had only just stolen a very, very expensive watch from. Finally, standing by the doorway and leaning against the wall was the red-headed woman who found me out and chased me down with her boyfriend. And she was making direct eye-contact with me.
“She’s up,” she called, shocking everyone in the room -- especially the man in the chair, who must have jumped about a foot in the air as he was startled awake. I clenched my jaw and frowned. What is it with this chick and always ratting me out?
Before you could say the word ‘Assemble,’ all six people in the room had gathered around me. My heart beat wildly in my chest as I stared from one person to the next. Why were all the people I robbed together in one place? Did Tony Stark bring them all together so they could get revenge on me? How did they even find me? Is that blonde one a bounty hunter or something? He certainly had the build for it.
“How are you feeling?” The man from earlier asked me gently. I frowned and stared back at him. No way was I going to talk to these people. I have the right to remain silent, right? Or is that not a thing with elaborate revenge plots?
The library man stepped forward and placed a hand on my forehead. Immediately, I flinched away. “Her fever’s gone down,” he said, stepping back into place, the slight anger he still held towards me clear in his voice.
I glanced around the room, weighing my options. I had no idea where I was, no idea how to get out of here, and I don’t think I could outrun the redhead and her boyfriend again on solid ground, especially when I can still barely move without another wave of dizziness hitting me. So, in other words, I’d have to somehow convince them to let me go.
Ok, yeah, I’m definitely gonna die.
“Do you have a name?” Reflexes guy asked, and my frown deepened. Maybe I could pretend to have lost my memory. Library guy said something about a fever, right? If it was bad enough, it could’ve messed with my brain. Plus, they have no way of knowing how long I had it. Alright, that’s my game plan for now. A pitiful, helpless amnesiac.
Slowly, I shook my head, bringing my knees to my chest as I stared at him with wide eyes.
“How about an age? Do you know how old you are?” This time, it was the boyfriend who spoke. I liked him way better. He had a kind voice, and he didn’t really seem to be holding too big a grudge against me. He was probably dragged to this weird revenge party by the redhead.
I shook my head again, allowing my body to shake ever so slightly, tears gathering in my eyes.
“Alright, cut the crap, kid. Tell me where my watch is,” Stark took a few steps forward. My eyes went wide, and I scrambled backwards in an attempt to get away from him, my heart going a mile a minute as my breathing got faster and faster.
“Quit it, Stark, you’re scaring her,” the boyfriend snapped. Stark huffed and rolled his eyes, moving back to his place in the semi-circle with his arms crossed. Yeah, I definitely like the boyfriend best.
“Do you remember nothing, child?” Blondie boomed. I flinched at the volume, hiding my face in my arms and sobbing quietly.
It was quiet for a little bit, and I smiled. They must’ve felt guilty, which meant they believed me. Maybe I could pull this off after all.
“Alright, kid, that’s enough. Stop messing with them.”
“What? Nat, what are you--”
“Seriously, you’ve had your fun, now stop it with the crocodile tears and tell us your name.” I slowly peaked up to find the redhead -- Nat, apparently -- smirking back down at me, her right hip jutted out as she rested her weight on it and her arms crossed. She merely lifted an eyebrow at me, her smirk widening ever so slightly.
I sighed and lifted my head. “How did you know?” I asked softly. The men in the room gaped at me in surprise, while she only chuckled a bit.
“I lie all the time, kid, it’s part of my job. I know another good liar when I see one,” she answered with a slight shrug of her shoulders. “Now are you gonna tell us your name or not?”
I frowned and hugged my knees tighter. “It wasn’t all a lie. I really was scared,” I muttered, staring down at my lap. “It’s not exactly fun to wake up in a place you don’t know and immediately have people coming at you or yelling really, really loud.”
Stark glanced away guiltily while Blondie just sent me a wide, toothy grin. “My apologies, child. I have yet to truly understand this ‘indoor voice’ that you mortals are so fascinated by!” I flinched slightly at the still very loud voice, but at least it wasn’t quite as loud as before.
“Name, kid,” Nat stated simply, immediately seeing through my attempt at changing the subject to try and make them feel guilty again.
I sighed. “My name is (Y/N),” I finally muttered.
“Have you got a last name, (Y/N)?” Reflexes asked again.
“Not any that concerns you,” I immediately snapped back defensively.
Reflexes frowned and rubbed his face a bit. “Fine, we’ll go back to that later. How old are you?”
“18,” the lie came quickly and easily. I had said it so many times that by that point, it was starting to feel more natural than the truth.
“Try again,” Nat said.
I grit my teeth and glared at her. “You really need to stop ratting me out.” She just smirked and shrugged again. “Fine. I’m 12.”
Silence as five pairs of shocked eyes turned to Nat for confirmation. Slowly, she nodded, almost seeming a little shocked herself. My words took a minute to settle in, and I frowned, staring back down at my lap. At least now they probably couldn’t kill me. Although, I’d probably prefer that to going back to that hellhole of a foster home.
“Nope, sorry, I call bs,” Stark was the one to break the silence. “No chance a twelve-year-old reads nuclear physics, and more importantly, there’s not a single chance a twelve-year-old outsmarts me.”
“Yeah, that’s what every grown-up says,” I rolled my eyes. “The fact is, you got completely fooled by a twelve-year-old kid, and you need to learn how to deal with it.”
“Alright, so where’s my watch?” Stark grit his teeth, fuming in annoyance at my attitude.
I rolled my eyes again. “I sold it,” I answered simply.
“Ok, so why did you lie to Clint? That watch was expensive. There’s no way you would be starving only a month after you sold it,” Stark smirked triumphantly, as though he had just unearthed some massive conspiracy.
“I didn’t keep the money.”
“...I’m sorry, what?” Stark asked.
“I said, I didn’t keep the money,” I repeated.
“Then where the hell did it go?” he frowned. He obviously didn’t believe me.
“Language, Stark,” Reflexes cut in. “She’s just a kid.”
“Please, I’ve heard the word ‘hell’ before. What street did you think I was living on, Candycane Lane?” I scoffed before suddenly realizing my mistake.
“You live on the streets?” Library guy asked softly, looking more and more guilty with every passing minute.
“Of course not, I responded quickly, trying to backpedal on what I’d accidentally let slip. “I just hate my parents so much it feels like it. I only steal so that I can rebel against them.”
“That lie was just bad,” Nat shook her head almost in disappointment.
“(Y/N), what happened to the money from Stark’s watch?” the boyfriend -- What did Stark say his name was? Clint? -- spoke calmly and gently.
“I used it to buy toys and canned foods,” I answered rather quickly. He was nice. I felt comfortable around him.
“You were starving, and you bought toys?” Stark scoffed.
“Not for me, dipshit,” I rolled my eyes again. I feel like I do that every time Stark opens his mouth.
“Language!” Reflexes gasped.
“Why did you buy toys?” Clint continued to speak gently, taking my attention away from my annoyance at Stark.
I frowned. “I bought them for the kids at the orphanage.” Clint just nodded, encouraging me to continue. “Every year I scrape together what money I don’t use on food to buy them toys, but they usually end up being really crummy ones that they all have to share. This year, I was finally able to buy them all really good ones.” I paused for a moment before adding, “Christmas can be really sad there, and there never used to be any toys. I don’t want the other kids to have a sad Christmas anymore.”
“You used to live in an orphanage?” Clint asked. I winced at the question, digging my nails into my palms. I didn’t mean to tell them that. I sighed in defeat and nodded slightly, avoiding their eyes.
“My mommy died when I was one, and my daddy didn’t want me anymore,” I paused a moment, trying and failing to swallow the lump in my throat. Quickly, I moved myself as far away from the topic as possible. “I used the money I didn’t spend on toys to buy groceries for the homeless shelter. They need it more than I do anyways.”
There was another heavy pause before Clint spoke again. “How long has it been since you’ve eaten anything?”
“Counting today?” They all nodded. “About five days.”
Reflexes immediately walked away, and I ducked my head further. He was probably going to call the cops or maybe the orphanage. Either way I’d have to go back.
“(Y/N)?” Library guy’s voice brought me back to reality.
My cheeks were wet. I was crying. I didn’t mean to do that -- it doesn’t work on Nat, so why even bother? Still, I couldn’t stop. “A-are you g-gonna send m-me b-back n-now?” I whispered, my voice thick as I gasped between every other word. I squeezed my knees tight to my chest and let out a sob that I was trying desperately to hold back. “P-please... I don’t... I don’t wanna go back!” I broke down sobbing, my face buried in my arms and my breaths coming shorter and shorter as my heart pounded frantically against my ribs.
I couldn’t breathe.
I felt like I was under water, each breath coming in harsher and more labored than the last, the air growing thicker by the second as I struggled to take it in. I could hardly feel the tears on my cheeks as my brain begged me to take a solid breath, screaming at me that I was dying -- that I needed to stop this right now, or I would die, which of course only made me panic even more.
I felt a pair of arms gently wrap around me and slowly looked up, hiccupping softly, my entire body shaking like a leaf. I stared at Tony Stark from where he sat beside me. “Calm down, purse snatcher, no one’s sending you anywhere,” he said, rubbing my back comfortingly. “I need you to focus on me. Try and match my breaths, ok?”
“P-promise me you’re not lying,” I mumbled from my still mostly curled up position. “Promise I won’t have to go back.”
“I promise I will never lie to you,” he responded immediately. I sniffled, my bottom lip trembling as I stared at him, searching for any signs of a lie. When I found none, I launched forward into his lap and buried my face in his chest, sobbing pathetically. “Easy, kid. You’re ok. In and out, just like me, ok? In... and out,” Tony soothed, gently patting my back as I cried. His arms were warm. It was surprising, but still, it was really, really nice. Slowly, I came back down to reality, each breath shaking violently but still managing to keep time with his. Finally, after a few minutes, I’d managed to calm myself down.
A very large hand landed on my shoulder, and I looked over, my body still shaking a bit as I clung to Tony like a lifeline. Reflexes was standing there, holding a plate full of steaming hot pizza.
“You need to eat,” he said, moving the plate closer to me. I nodded and took it, my hands still shaking slightly.
“Thank you, Reflexes,” I said softly.
“Reflexes?” he tilted his head a bit.
“O-oh, um... When I met you, you managed to catch me after I bumped into you, even though I was trying to fall, so I’ve kind of been calling you Reflexes in my head ever since...” I muttered, my face getting red.
Reflexes stared at me for a moment. I could feel Tony laughing behind me as the others struggled not to laugh out loud. “You can just call me Steve,” he sighed.
“That’s right, you don’t know our names yet, do you?” Tony grinned. I turned to look at him, only just then realizing that I was still sitting on his lap.
I blushed harder and scooted off his lap, muttering a quick, “Sorry.”
Tony smiled back in reassurance, although he looked a little... disappointed? No, wait, that’s stupid. Of course he wasn’t disappointed; he’s Tony Stark. That look was probably just the leftover annoyance at having some dumb kid crying in his lap. “Don’t mention it, kid, but you gotta tell me what you’ve been calling the rest of us in that little head of yours.”
“U-um... well, I called Steve ‘Reflexes,’ and, um, Nat was ‘Redhead’. Clint was ‘Boyfriend’...” Clint choked on thin air, and Tony bursted out laughing again, not even making an attempt to hide it this time.
“W-why ‘Boyfriend’?!” Clint yelped.
“Because you were on a date with your girlfriend, um, Nat, when we met?” I said it almost like a question. Was there something wrong with that?
“She’s not my girlfriend, kid,” Clint sighed, shaking his head. He didn’t seem quite as bothered anymore, though. Was there really something wrong with me calling him ‘Boyfriend’?
“Ok, now tell me the rest,” Tony said excitedly, leaning forward.
I leaned back a bit but nodded. “Ok, well the guy with the glasses--”
“Call me Bruce,” he interrupted.
“Um, Bruce then. He was ‘Library Guy.’”
“Oh, that’s right, you recommended he read his own paper,” Tony grinned.
“Yeah exactly,” I smiled softly before, slowly, my smile dropped and my eyes grew about 3 sizes. “Wait, you don’t mean...” I turned to face Bruce in disbelief. “You aren’t that Bruce. As in, Bruce Banner? The nuclear physicist?”
Bruce chuckled a bit and rubbed the nape of his neck. “Yeah, that’s me. Nice to meet you.”
I gaped, my mouth opening and closing like a fish. “I’m such a big fan,” I whispered softly.
“Wait, so you mean you actually understood those papers? That wasn’t just another lie?” Bruce frowned slightly.
“I would never lie about that,” I shook my head frantically. “Your work is absolutely incredible. I used to get lashed all the time cause I’d stay up all night reading your papers.”
A flash of pity crossed his face. I frowned and cleared my throat. “I, um, I always really like learning new things,” I muttered awkwardly. “When I was little, I would spend hours in that library every day. My caretaker didn’t believe I actually understood it, either. She even got me tested to prove I was lying.”
“And?” Tony prompted.
“Turns out I have an IQ of about 278,” I shrugged. Tony’s jaw dropped, staring at me with eyes wide as saucers.
“Isn’t yours 273?” Bruce asked, trying to hide the chuckle threatening to seep through his voice.
“I-I... Well... Just tell us the rest of the nicknames, would ya, kid?” Tony stuttered, avoiding Bruce’s eyes.
“Oh, um, sure,” I smiled a bit. It felt like my chest filled up a bit, a soft warmth spreading through my heart. They looked like a family. It must be so nice. “The super buff blonde guy--”
“Thor,” Tony provided.
I blinked in shock at that. “Wow, your parents must’ve been real confident to name you after one of the Norse gods,” I muttered. “Well, Thor’s name was just ‘Blondie.’”
Tony snickered at my comment, and I frowned. Were these nicknames really funny? I didn’t think they were.
“Child, I was not named after anyone. I am Thor of Asgard. It is a pleasure to meet you,” he smiled, taking a knee before me. I lifted an eyebrow and leaned over to Tony.
“Is he crazy..?” I asked softly.
Tony chuckled. “No, he’s not. Haven’t you ever heard of the Avengers?” I shook my head. “Woah, seriously? Ok, well, long story short, he is the actual Norse god, Thor, and he lives on the planet Asgard.”
I looked at him curiously before nodding. “Alright.”
“Seriously? You believe me just like that?” Tony asked, a small, if slightly confused, smile on his face.
“You promised me you’d never lie to me,” I answered simply. “Of course I believe you.”
Tony opened his mouth and closed it again, a look I’d never seen decorating his features. I shook my head just a bit to clear it and grabbed the piece of pizza on top before immediately shoving it in my face, managing to scarf it down in under 10 seconds before moving onto the next. The six adults stared at me as I finished piece after piece until the plate was empty only 2 minutes later. I glanced up and smiled slightly. “Thank you for the food,” I mumbled through the last mouthful of pizza.
“Wow, ok, I’m not gonna lie, kid, that was pretty impressive,” Tony chuckled. “I don’t even think bird brain over here could eat that fast.”
“How do you keep people from stealing your food, then?” I asked, tilting my head slightly to the side. The room fell silent again, the adults sending me worried glances. I frowned and ducked my head again, trying to avoid their searing gazes. I must’ve said something wrong again.
“Honestly, we don’t. How do you think Thor got so big?” Tony grinned, clearly just trying to diffuse the tension. I smiled up at him gratefully.
“Alright, I think that’s enough excitement for today,” Tony said, standing up. “Sorry, kid, but it’s way past your bedtime.” I tensed up a bit at the sudden movement, and he sent me a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, I’m just taking you to a guest room.”
I nodded and took his hand, standing up slowly. I held the loose clothing tightly so that it didn’t drop, trying to ignore the many worried eyes that looked over my still ever so slightly shaking, thin figure that couldn’t even hold up the small pair of sweatpants. I followed him down one of the many hallways of the tower, gripping his hand as tightly as I could.
Finally, we reached a large room, a neatly made bed stationed in the middle of it. I tried to climb into the bed, but Tony ended up having to boost me up, his hands lifting me gently by my underarms so that I could get on top of the unreasonably tall mattress before tucking me in under the thick blankets.
He took a step back, and my heart immediately leapt into my throat, my hand darting out to grab his wrist. “It’s ok, I’m just turning out the lights,” he answered the question without me even having to ask. As soon as he had flicked the switch off, he came back and sat down in a large chair by the bed. It was silent for a moment, and I stared up at the dark ceiling, thinking over everything that happened in the past few hours. It didn’t make any sense. Why would he do all of this? What did he have to gain from giving me food and a place to sleep?
“Why are you being so nice to me?” I heard my own voice rise up through the darkness. I’m not quite sure why I asked that. Still, I wanted nothing more than to hear the answer.
“You remind me of myself,” Tony said slowly, the careful thoughtfulness clear in his voice. “You’re a good kid. You deserve a little bit of help.”
It was silent for another few minutes.
“Would you... would you please hold me hand?” I asked softly. I’d barely even finished speaking before my right hand was engulfed my another, much larger one. I could feel myself smile just a bit, my eyes fluttering closed. I squeezed it slightly, and before long, I had fallen asleep to the sound of Tony’s breathing.

Hands To Myself // Ashton Irwin
We’re back with another smut prompt fill! This was an anon request that I took the reins on and wrote, inspired by an extremely specific conversation I had with @ashtonangst. As always, shouts to @cal-puddies for the encouragement (and for letting me call first dibs on the Ash prompts).
Prompts: “That’s probably the fastest I’ve ever done that.“ and “I just wasn’t expecting that. But I liked it. A lot.”
Warnings: Porn without plot. Fluffy yet not exactly vanilla smut. Boyfriend!Ash because Crystal can’t not.
Word Count: 901
Cass & Crystal’s Collab Masterlist
Let us know what you think!
————- You woke up before Ashton and couldn't help but turn over and let your eyes take in and appreciate your beautiful boyfriend laying next to you. Of course he caught you staring and his teasing comments quickly turned to teasing kisses which inevitably resulted in you being pulled on top of him.
As you ride him, you lean back and brace yourself on his legs. You’re searching for that perfect angle to send you over the edge plus you know he always enjoys this view, getting to see your tits arched and heaving for him and his cock disappearing inside you.
You start breathing in that way he knows means you’re getting close so he reaches his hand between your legs to thumb over your clit but you’re rocking against him in earnest at this point and his hand ends up stroking over his shaft as it glides out of you.
The surprising added sensation elicits a choked moan from him and he’s suddenly cumming. You’re not quite sure what just happened but it was fucking hot watching his orgasm take him by surprise and you easily finish as well.
Your wakeup call meant Ash is now running late for his studio session so there’s not much time to discuss your morning romp. You’re making breakfast for yourself when he passes through the kitchen to fill his travel mug with coffee on his way out.
“So this morning was something else,” you comment casually, sipping from your own mug.
He shakes his head and laughs, “That’s probably the fastest I’ve ever done that.” He secures the lid on his coffee and bounds over to you, kissing your neck. “I’ll try not to set any new records next time,” he jokes as he heads out the door.
You’re both busy so the rest of the day passes quickly and you’ve already tucked yourself into bed by the time he makes it home.
The next morning, you’re awakened by the feeling of large hands rubbing up and down your arms and soft kisses being pressed along your shoulders. You melt into his touch and turn your head to smile at him. “Hey there,” your eyes fluttering open. “Sorry I missed you last night.”
“Sorry I was gone so late,” he apologizes, lazily sucking a mark on the back of your neck. “Make it up to you?”
After his hands and mouth have had time to sufficiently explore your body, you’re sighing contentedly as Ash pushes into you. He kisses you and starts setting a moderate pace but you notice your back is a weird crampy position so you push yourself up the bed to adjust. Without giving it a second thought, you reach down and briefly grab his cock so he doesn’t slide out of you and hear a wrecked groan similar to the one you heard yesterday.
You look up to meet his eyes, but they’re screwed shut as he continues moving in you. You smirk to yourself and spread your legs wider to give yourself easier access; as he thrusts, you reach and touch him again as he pulls out. His eyes shoot open and lock onto yours; you smile coyly and raise your eyebrows at him.
Halting his movements, half-buried in you, he chuckles and looks down at your hand on his cock, “Can I help you with something?”
You grin sinfully, “Sounded like I was helping you out quite a bit, actually.”
He playfully smacks your ass in protest, “Don’t make fun, I just wasn’t expecting that… but I liked it.”
“A lot?” You tease, squeezing your hand a bit.
He groans again and looks at you through narrowed eyes. His strained voice answers, “Leave it there” and he begins fucking into you once more.
He keeps intense eye contact with you as he pumps his hips, forcefully but just a bit more shallow so you have room to tease him; you apply slight pressure to the base, you lightly run the tip of your fingers along his shaft. Hearing the noises he’s making and seeing him struggle to maintain control is worth not having him hitting as deeply as he could.
You continue like this for a bit and eventually you slide your free hand down your stomach to touch your clit but even in his blissful state, Ash notices and pushes it aside, replacing your hand with his. “Can’t have you doing all the work,” he pants with a smile.
Ash’s moans are becoming more persistent and his hips are stuttering so you know he’s on the edge; you decide to try firmly stroking him along with his shallow thrusts. It only takes a few pumps before he's deliciously breathing your name and his cock is twitching under your grasp. “That’s it, cum for me,” you find yourself moaning along with him as you stroke him through his orgasm.
His hips slow their movement but his fingers speed up their work on your clit and he kisses you, swallowing your groans as you also reach your peak. His head drops to your shoulder and you absentmindedly stroke his hair as you both silently catch your breath for a beat.
"Well that was new," you pull back to look playfully at him.
He giggles and presses a kiss to your neck before rolling to the side of you.
“Always said you knew how to grab my attention, baby.”

With everything that was going on with Octavia and Wonkru, it seemed that the least of my problems was what was happening at Shallow Valley. After catching up with what had happened since we lost contact with them, apparently Diyoza was getting kicked out of her group by her own people & McCreary was their leader now.
He was much worse than Diyoza; In the beginning she was willing to even offer us half of the Valley. Only if Octavia surrendered of course, which at that time I thought that was a sign of weakness. Now I felt dumb, wishing we took that choice when we could've.
Now it was confirmed that Clarke was helping McCreary defeat us after her and Madi left the bunker. It was selfish of me to even hate Clarke for siding with the psychopath considering the things I've done down at the bunker, but this was an absolute shit situation.
The worst of all was that I overheard people saying that Marcus was by their side as well. The hate I had for him from when we were down at the bunker grew stronger, wondering how he can just sit there and help McCreary kill us. Or even kill me, for that matter. I knew I was awful but surely he doesn't want me dead, does he?
Whatever McCreary & his new crew were planning to do to us, we heard everything, thanks to Diyoza and Echo. We knew what we had to do to try to take over the last liable land on Earth. We had to make this right because our life depended on it.
The plan to blindside McCreary was genius; not going to lie, having Echo on our side nowadays was painful to process but she sure was good at what she does.
'Make sure you all know your parts in the plan. Any questions?' Bellamy rested his hands on his hips as he looked around the tent.
'Tell Echo good work with this.' Octavia added.
Bellamy rolled his eyes at his sister, 'In two hours you can tell her yourself.'
She kept a straight face as him and the other warriors walked out of the tent but I could tell she was hurting. Spending six years with her by my side, I've learned so much about her.
Octavia and I became close down in the bunker, especially because we had no one to trust but each other. Which was why it hurt so much when she told me she never asked for help from Abby.
I did feel bad for Octavia about the way Bellamy was treating her; It wasn't fair for him to give her the cold shoulder after what happened between me and him couple hours ago.
'Y/N.' Octavia mumbled, 'The reason why I knew to burn everything was because I overheard you and Monty talking about the hydrofarm. You asked me why I did it but you'll see when we get the Valley.'
'We've sacrificed a lot to save our people. I'm not proud of the day I killed innocent people but I did it so that I can save you from Abby. What do we gain from burning down the one thing we needed to live?'
Octavia stood, 'You'll know once we get there. I promise you.'
I looked down, disappointed in myself because I knew that all of this was my fault. This whole massacre started when I started killing people at the bunker. Blodreina and Skafaiya wouldn't exist without my mistake in the cafeteria that day.
'I'm sorry about what I said, Y/N. I'm glad I had you with me at the bunker.' Octavia sighed. 'Okay?'
Without making eye contact with her, I slowly nodded and left the tent. It was tough to process, I didn't know what to say or how to respond. The truth of the matter was, I became broken from that turn of event and I'll live with that regret for the rest of my life.
Needing to get ready before the battle, I approached my tent to get all my gear. After feeling a light tap on my shoulder, I turned around.
'Hey, how're you holding up?' Bellamy smiled lightly which made my heart full. It's been a long time since I've seen his cute, freckles face. Most importantly, he was smiling at me.
What happened between us a few hours back suddenly made me nervous; It's been a long time since I've been intimate with someone, I felt so shy in front of Bellamy.
Especially after the huge fight we had over Wonkru, I didn't know how he felt about everything now. 'I'm doing alright. You?'
'Good. I really hope this battle against McCreary's men goes well.'
'Me too.' I mumbled as I thought about whether I should say what I felt. Knowing that it would distract me during the fight, I decided to ask. 'Uhm, I know this is sudden but... what are we doing?'
'We have three groups of-'
'No, I meant about us.' I gulped, scared of his reaction and answer. It was hard having "casual sex" with someone you deeply cared about and loved. If it was nothing, I had to know for my own sake.
Bellamy paused, unsure of what he should say. The facial expression on his face made my heart drop, knowing that whatever he was thinking wasn't good news for me.
'I-I don't know. I want us to go back to how it used to be but it's hard.'
Fiddling with my shirt, I sighed. 'Yeah, I get it. I just didn't want my hopes up so I wanted to know exactly what was on your mind.'
'We should just take it slow... see where it goes. If that's alright with you?' Bellamy suggested.
'Sounds fair.' Inside, I was dying of happiness since I knew that this was too good to be true. It was as if I was given a second chance that I didn't deserve. This time, it was going to be different.
✤ · ✤ · ✤ · ✤ · ✤
As the group split up, Octavia, Bellamy, me and a few other warriors marched into the battleground. With nothing but sand and a huge wall of dirt around us, we kept walking to position ourselves.
Bellamy looked through his scope in his gun, searching for the enemies on the top of the cliff. 'Just like Echo said...'
The sound of bullets rang from the other side of the cliff, realizing that it was Echo, John, Emori and Raven fighting off McCreary's men.
'Echo was right.' Bellamy mumbled, continuing to look around for more men that was possibly hiding our nearby. 'Let's do this.'
Octavia signaled Wonkru to charge, which immediately had all the warriors march through the rest of the warfield. Following the Wonkru warriors, I marched right behind them as I gripped my submachine gun tightly.
She came right next to me as if she rushed and tried to catch up. 'Y/N?'
'What is it?' I asked politely yet uninvitingly. The whole argument with Octavia was going to be hard to get over considering she was the closest thing I had to a family down at the bunker.
'Are you still mad at me?' That was a direct question I would've never expected from Blodreina. Perhaps she was scrubbing of her dark days just as I was.
Not knowing how to put my feelings into words, I kept it simple. 'I'm just disappointed.'
'Well, I-' Immediately, we were interrupted by gun shots from the opposite side. It felt like thousands of McCreary's men all fired their weapons at once, trying to wipe out every one of the people that was left of us.
Quickly aiming my gun to where the fires were coming from, I started shooting. It was unclear of who was exactly firing as all of their men were hiding but I could tell I got a few hits as I heard groaning everytime I shot at them.
Wonkru wasn't enough to fight these men because our people were getting killed left and right. Feeling the rage in me, I started to fire my gun in the air, hoping to get any McCreary men I can injure or kill. Soon enough, I felt a sharp pain in my thigh which caused me to fall to the ground.
'Reyes, take cover!' Bellamy immediately rushes towards me and grabbed onto me, basically dragging me to the safest place he could find.
We took cover, hiding behind a boulder and watching Wonkru getting slain one after the other. Far up ahead, I spotted Octavia with a gun, firing at our opponents.
'Blake, we have to help Octavia.' She was out in the open, they could target her at any moment and possibly kill her.
'Even after what she'd done?'
Flailing my nose from frustration, I shook my head. I was as guilty as Octavia at the bunker; why was he able to try to forgive me but not his own sister?
Without thinking about the pain in my thigh, I quickly got up and ran towards Octavia. Bellamy yelled out my name but with all the noises from gunshots and screaming from pained warriors, I was unable to hear him. Even if I heard him, it wouldn't have made a difference; I was going to save my friend.
Finally catching up to Octavia, I pulled on her shoulder. 'Come on, we need to hide until this clears out.'
'I'm saving us out of here, I need to lead Wonkru to Shallow Valley.'
'Y/N!' As I heard Bellamy's voice, I also heard an unfamiliar noise coming from McCreary's men. It was a huge gun-like war machine, whatever that was it did not sound good. 'Y/N, lets go.'
'You can go, I'm not leaving without Octavia.' I shouted back.
Bellamy grunted, instantly grabbing onto my arm and ran the opposite direction from McCreary's men. Turning around, I saw Octavia chasing us from behind.
The next thing we knew, a electronic pressure of some sort blasted from the drill-like weapon which caused the people in the area to fly off the ground. Then the rest of the warzone was in silence.

Banished people! This isn’t really important but I wanna know input really on what y’all think.
I’m writing and adding flashbacks and I’ve been lowkey struggling putting them into parts because the parts are based off episodes and these flashbacks are my shit that I’m making, not centered around an episode. So basically I wanna know what y’all would think about a few bonus chapters I throw out a couple Wednesdays for you guys.
Just send me an ask or comment on here and let me know if bonus chapters sounds interesting (which honestly I hope most of y’all would be for cause that means more details) or if I should just stick with finding places in chapters (which is an option I can do).
Right now off the top of my head I can only think of two bonus chapters I would do, but that’s subject to change. 😊 Let me know!
Tagging my readers for y’all’s input please!

Crickets were the only sound echoing in the room.
The silence that had settled was palpable. You both knew this needed discussed, but neither of you knew what to say.
The awkward silence persisted, until Damon finally couldn’t take it anymore, “Whiskey. We need whiskey.”
He stood and sauntered over to the bar in the living room, taking his sweet time pouring the drinks, as he still didn’t know what to say. He knew that you knew how he felt, but he didn’t really know how you felt. You had caught him eavesdropping, but he had honestly only heard bits and pieces what with his annoying little brother scolding him in his ear as he tried to listen.
You took the glass from him as he sat back down. Swirling the amber liquid, you debated what to say to end this silence. It was killing you. “So, uh, how much did you actually hear?”
Damon laughed, “Less that you probably think.”
You sighed, “Well what did you hear?”
“You told Elijah to take a hike. Honestly I’m a bit surprised.”
“Honestly? I’m not. Look, I never wanted this. I never wanted this love-triangle Twilight bullshit.” You stood up and paced, “I was okay with the fact I’d be alone for the rest of my life, I accepted it a long time ago. This life, hunting, it doesn’t leave room for love and relationships. I thought my life would consist of riding around in the Impala killing monsters with my brothers until my number was up. And I was okay with that.”
You paused and stopped right in front of Damon, “But then, you know, this-” you gestured at yourself, “happened. Becoming a vampire definitely was not part of my plan.”
Running a hand through your hair, you sighed and continued, “The whole time I’ve been here it’s just been bombshell after bombshell landing straight in my lap. You told me how you felt, well, shouted it. Then I almost died. Then I did fucking die, which I’m still a little salty about. And then Elijah and his stupid family kept showing up and making a mess of things. Do you see why this has been extremely difficult for me?” Out of breath, you pounded the whiskey in your hand and beelined for more.
Damon sighed, “I never really thought about it that way.”
You sat back down, “I never wanted to hurt you Damon. I never wanted any of this to happen but here we are. I’ve been dealing with all of this with the emotions of a newborn vampire which has made everything 10x as hard. I don’t know how I haven’t killed anybody.”
“I really can’t believe you haven’t.”
You laughed, “I think I was gifted with uber self-control when I was turned.”
“Nah, I think you were just used to this life. Magic, vampires, werewolves, these are what you’ve dealt with every day for over 20 years.”
“Maybe. My point is I’m still getting used to this and maybe my judgment hasn’t been the best. Are you upset I kissed Elijah?”
Damon sighed, “I’m not happy about it, but I’m not mad at you. I get it. You’ve been through a lot. And being a new vampire makes your emotions go haywire. It’s been awhile but I remember the chaos. Actually, I’m more upset he sired you.”
You huffed a laugh, “I remember you threatening violence if I became a vampire through his direct bloodline.”
“Yeah. Even though you’re a tad stronger because of it, I always thought if you became a vampire Stefan or I would be the ones to turn you.”
You looked at him puzzled, “Did you think about that a lot, me becoming a vampire?”
“I mean, sort of. Do we have to continue to talk about our feelings? I’m out of my element here.”
“Yes. I don’t like it much either but it’s important.”
He sighed, “Once I figured out how I felt about you, you were already gone. I thought about you all the time. I thought about calling you or coming to find you, even if your brothers got pissed. I wanted to tell you how I felt but I talked myself out of it. So, I just daydreamed I guess? If we ever did get together, it’s a conversation we were gonna have to have. I mean, I was immortal and you weren’t. That would’ve been a problem.”
“And now?” you asked.
“I know this isn’t what you wanted Y/N/N, but it’s a hell of a lot better than what the alternative was. And I think you make a pretty great vampire if I do say so myself,” he smirked.
“I’m starting to become okay with it actually. I don’t hurt all over all the time from the constant beatings my body took from hunting. I’m faster, stronger, my senses are better. Like you said, I could keep hunting if I wanted.”
“Do you?”
“Want to keep hunting? I don’t know. It’s the only thing I know how to do.”
Damon sighed, “What about us?”
You turned and looked at the dark-haired vampire in front of you. The slight smile/smirk on his face is something only Damon could make seem so comforting. As you looked at him, you couldn’t remember any of the reasons why you shouldn’t be with him. All of your reservations seemed to melt away.
You loved him.
It’s Damon, and it’s always been Damon. Elijah was just like a sparkler, it burned bright and hot but only for a moment; and like a sparkler it was short but beautiful, just like it was meant to be.
You leaned forward and paused when your lips were only inches apart, waiting for him to make the final move. After a short pause and a quiet laugh from Damon, he closed the distance between you.
It was almost as if you’d never kissed him before. Now that you’d acknowledged your feelings, it was different. Almost like this is always where you were meant to be, like you were coming home.
You both became so involved in the kiss, that neither of you heard the front door open or the two sets of footsteps approaching you.
“Oh come on! You guys can’t get a room or something? I don’t wanna see that,” Dean complained.
You and Damon jumped apart at the sudden arrival of your brothers, shocked two vampires were snuck upon by two humans. Two very skilled hunter humans, but still. Blushing, you gave your brother a dirty look.
Dean smirked back. After taking in the surrounding scene, Dean’s smirk faded. His look became one of worry, a look that was mirrored on Sam’s face.
“What the hell happened here?” asked Sam.
You looked at your brothers incredulously, “I’ll give you one guess.”
Your brothers looked at each other. “Klaus,” they said in unison.
“What actually happened though?” asked Dean.
“Cliff notes version? The Mikaelson’s crashed my party, Klaus decided he approved of me being with his brother only if I joined them when they left for New Orleans and became a member of their family, using my skills as a hunter and a new vampire to advance Mikaelson interests more or less.”
Sam huffed a laugh, “How the hell did you get out of that?”
“I staked him, with the stake he stabbed into my stomach beforehand. Don’t ask me how I got the drop on an Original because I have no goddamn clue,” you laughed.
“But normal stakes can’t kill Originals I thought?”
“True but it does take them down for the count for at least a little while. That was enough to cause Rebekah and Kol to stand down and they all left.”
Dean looked confused, “What about Elijah? He didn’t stop it?”
Damon scoffed, “Bastard was too afraid of his brother and just stood there while Klaus threw Y/N across the room and stabbed her.”
You sighed, “Yeah, you guys don’t have to worry about him anymore. I doubt I’ll ever even see him or the Mikaelson’s again, at least I hope.”
“Yeah, I could kinda tell you kicked Elijah to the curb when we walked in on you two playing tonsil hockey,” Dean smirked.
You blushed, “Will you two just go upstairs and go to bed?”
“Yeah, yeah, we’re going.” Dean smirked again and even Sam smirked a bit. You rolled your eyes at your brothers and their ridiculous attitudes.
Turning back to Damon you smiled, “Where were we?”
He returned your smile and softly pressed his lips to yours. Slowly, the kiss became more passionate. Damon softly grasped your face as you grabbed onto his shirt. A soft moan escaped you as he began to kiss you harder, your tongues meeting as the kiss deepened.
Damon slowly pulled away, “You wanna, ya know, go upstairs?” He smirked his classic smirk with a small laugh, wiggling his eyebrows at the innuendo.
You laughed, “Easy tiger, my brothers are upstairs. We have all the time in the world.”
His smirk morphed into a soft and adoring smile, “Forever.”
You returned his soft smile, love pouring out of both of you, “Forever.”

The Forest was silent and somber when Mackenzie was taken back to the castle. Somehow it seemed even colder inside than out there, and as dark as the moonless sky. She followed the page in silent, wondering if she had met him before, unable to recognize him, or any of them, for that matter. They were all wearing the same clothes, all saying the same things, all avoiding her gaze. She wondered if it was written somewhere in the rules not to look people in the eyes or if they were just afraid of her, and she decided never to ask, happy to believe it was the former.
Her satin dress caressed the cleaned marbled floor in silence, the only noise being the page’s footsteps and her heavy breaths. It would be easy enough to travel through the hallways of the castle if she weren’t wearing such a tight corset. She had been uncomfortable all night, no matter how hard she tried to ignore it. She couldn’t wait to get out of this dress, and she’d wake the entire castle if she had to in order to find someone who’d help her out of this prison of satin.
The page stopped in front of her door and opened it for her, before stepping aside and bowing, gesturing her to get inside. She thanked him in a whisper, not caring if he heard her or not, before she stepped inside her chambers where she was happy to see her servant was waiting for her.
Mackenzie frowned, however, when she noticed the girl was standing near the couch, where she last saw her.
“Did you stay here all night?”
“No, ma’am. Someone from Lord Fay informed us of your return.”
Reassured that the poor girl hadn’t spent the last four hours waiting on her feet for her, and trying to forget she had just been called “ma’am”, she breathed out, or at least tried to.
“Get me out of this thing, please,” she begged.
“Yes, madam.”
The girl removed all the layers of the elaborate dress as fast as she could, and Mackenzie took a deep breath of relief as soon as she was able to.
“Thank you,” she breathed out loudly, swearing to herself she wouldn’t wear a corset ever again, and she’d kill anyone who’d try to make her. “Never call me madam again,” she said in a light tone, not wanting to scare the girl who had been acting nervous around her.
The servant looked up with a small and amused smile: “Yes, miss.”
“Have a good night.”
“You too, Lady Alemaund.”
The girl was gone before Mackenzie had the chance to tell her she wasn’t a lady.
***
It was dark in the forest. Abnormally dark. And so silent. As if there were no wind, no animals, no life. As Mackenzie walked on the dead leaves, the absent of noise made her feel uneasy and nervous. She couldn’t remember where she was nor what she was doing out there in the forest alone. All the trees were the same and she kept changing course, hoping to see a light, a rock or a bush maybe that looked somewhat different, that would indicate she was making progress. But everything stayed the same. She cried for someone, anyone, just to see if she would hear anything and her own voice startled her. She expected no answer and received none, and for some reason, it was a relief. She was alone. There was no one and nothing that could hurt her. She felt at peace, not tired, not hungry, her feet weren’t hurting like they would have been if she had really been walking in the forest for this long. She kept walking for a while, enjoying the silence of the never-ending forest. She looked up, expecting a moon and stars, but found only darkness, like a ceiling painted in black, a black so dark she got lost in it.
She stopped, her eyes staring at the darkness, the pain coming back, the fear, the hunger, the exhaustion. She shivered as she started feeling cold, a pearl of sweat sliding down her forehead. A voice startled her. She turned around but saw nothing but the trees, the same trees she had been surrounded with for what seemed like an eternity. The trees that she had been ignoring now scared her, as if someone, or something, was hidden behind one of them, or all of them. She turned around herself, looking there, looking here, always seeing the same thing, all her emotions overwhelming her at once. She heard the voice again, but this time thought she understood it, even maybe recognized it. It was calling her name.
“Hello?” she cried out, not knowing if an answer would make the situation better or worse.
“… hear me?” the faded voice of a woman asked.
“Where are you?”
“Mackenzie,” the voice was now loud and clear.
The ultimate straightened up, a shiver running down her spine as she recognized the voice.
“Where are you?” she cried again.
“Mackenzie.”
“Mom! Where are you?”
She wiped the tears off her cheeks as she turned around again and again looking for her mother. She started feeling dizzy, the trees disappearing from her line of sight as if they were being pulled by an invisible force she couldn’t feel. Light started to break out of her surroundings as if the world itself was becoming a ball of light. Mackenzie brought a hand to her face, trying to shield herself from the blinding light.
It gradually became safe for her to open her eyes again and she looked around, hoping to see her mother, but all she saw was white, as if she were standing in a white empty room with no walls.
“Mom?” her voice broke as she called quietly for her mother.
“Mackenzie,” Aella said, though she was nowhere to be found.
“Where are you?”
“You need to leave, Mackenzie, it’s not safe for you here!”
“What?” Mackenzie breathed out as she looked up then down then around again. She couldn’t tell where the voice was coming from, as if it were coming from everywhere. “I don’t know where I am. How did I get here?”
“You need to leave! You can’t trust him, he will hurt you!” her mother’s voice was getting louder and Mackenzie’s ears started to ring as if the voice was coming from inside her head.
“Who?” she asked, panic obvious in her voice.
“You can’t trust him! He’s dangerous! You have to run!”
The darkness came back so suddenly that Mackenzie felt like she had just been punched in the chest. It took her breath away. She was in the forest again, surrounded by the same trees, on the same path going nowhere.
“Mom?” she called, the knot in her throat making her voice break again.
“You will die if you stay with him! Run, Mackenzie! Run!”
A sudden panic submerged her, and she started to run, as if her mother’s words were spelled. She ran so fast she didn’t know where she was going. The trees appeared before her and disappeared behind her so fast she didn’t see them at all anymore. She ran into the darkness, hoping for nothing, she ran until she couldn’t anymore, she ran until she reached the end of the path going nowhere and fell into nothing.
***
Mackenzie jerked awake, almost choking as she gasped for air. She sat bolt upright, trembling and panting as if she had just run a marathon. She was sweaty, her nightgown sticking to her wet skin. She tried to catch her breath, tried to think straight.
What kind of nightmare was that? She had had a lot of bad dreams, but this was completely different. It felt so real, so vivid, she knew it was something else. She knew it was her mother sending her a message.
She tried to remember her mother’s words, wishing she had misunderstood them, but knowing she hadn’t.
Mackenzie shook her head, trying to forget the words, trying to erase the thought from her mind. She hated it. She hated it so much it hurt. It hurt to think of the mere possibility that it was real. That her mother, stuck in the Other Side, had come through to tell her that Elijah Mikaelson wanted to kill her.

“Y/N.”
You blinked, your vision coming back into focus.
You were in your lab running some tests when your timid new assistant poked her head in the room.
“Sorry to interrupt, Miss, but you have a call from Captain Rogers on your private server. He says it’s an urgent emergency.”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “Thank you.”
When your assistant left the room, you stood in silence, your gaze fixed on the chemical you tested eating away at a piece of metal, fizzing violently.
You hadn’t seen Steve since the incident a few months ago. After everything you did against him and Tony and the rest of the Avengers, you couldn’t bring yourself to even look them in the eye. They insisted that it wasn’t your fault, but they didn’t know what it was like. Though you were being controlled, you were still conscious of what you were doing.
You couldn’t hurt them again.
You walked over to your desk, watching the line blink over and over. Taking a deep breath, you pressed the button, and Steve appeared on a transparent display.
“Y/N,” he started.
You had to admit it felt good hearing his voice.
You could tell he aged a bit. His eyes seemed more tired than usual. Your heart ached, thinking of him trying his best to make things right.
“Steve,” you said, your lips pursed. “What is it? Did something happen?”
“No, everything’s fine,” he replied. There was a moment of silence. “You’ve been ignoring my calls. I figured you'd answer to an ‘emergency’.”
You snorted. “Bold move.”
You missed this.
You missed him.
You missed Steve Rogers.
“We’re still cleaning up the mess SHIELD left behind,” he continued. “Apparently Rumlow’s planning to make a move at a lab in Lagos. He’s after some sort of biological weapon.”
“Hm, IFID Headquarters probably,” you said as you organized some papers. “Someone’s probably paying him good money. That’s a tough gig. Takes a lot of planning.”
“Come with us,” Steve said. “You know this stuff well. We can also utilize your powers.”
The blood drained from your face. Your mind immediately dove back into memories of losing control of yourself. The pain you inflicted upon other people...
Your lower lip trembled. “Steve, I love you, and I miss you, but I can’t.”
His expression was stern. “If this is about what happened --”
“You don’t want my help. Trust me,” you said. “Even if I don’t manage to kill you, I’ll slow you down.”
“That wasn’t you,” he said. “You were being controlled.”
“I can hurt you,” you said. “I can hurt anyone. Are you sure you want a liability on your team?”
“You’re not a liability,” he said firmly. “You’re the best of us. That’s why we need you.” He paused. “Be the goddess you were meant to be.”
You covered your mouth in thought.
“I’m scared, Steve.”
“I know,” he said, his voice softer. “But we have a team. A family here for you.” He sighed heavily. “I won’t make you do anything you don’t want to do, but you are officially an Avenger. We have newcomers that’ll look up to you.”
He was right. You were officially a part of the group, and you gave yourself to the ongoing act of saving people. You weren’t one to go back on your promises.
“What do you need me to do?” you asked cautiously.
“Just be there.”
“That’s simple,” you said with a smirk.
“I’m sending you details...now.”
Your tablet chirped, and you opened a file containing a rough plan, maps, and profiles. You stopped at Bucky’s face in the background.
“Bucky...”
“We don’t know where he is, but we know he may be affiliated somehow.”
You close the file and glanced at your suit, which hung in the corner safely in a glass display case.
“Only one way to find out,” you said. “See you on the field, Captain.”
“Likewise, Gaea.”

The Lies I Told - Part Three

Part One Part Two
Callie Ryder’s family was waiting for us when we arrived at the precinct the next morning. We were all exhausted when we landed late last night, and had spared only a moment to run through a McDonald’s drive through (complete with a rambling from Dr. Reid about how unhealthy fast food was but yet so delicious) before crawling into bed and crashing at our hotel.
Recognition flickered in the depths of my memories as I met the eyes of Callie’s father. Shelia, Callie and I were all in the same grade at Cedar Hollow High and took several AP classes together. We weren’t friends, but I had attended parties at both of their houses.
“Mr. Ryder,” I greeted, reaching out to shake his hand. He gripped it, nodding his head. “I don’t know if you remember me, but my name is Y/N. It’s been a long time but I knew your daughter from high school. I’m so sorry for your loss.”
“I remember. Thank you for coming.” He sat back down, eyes exhausted and miserable.
“Mr. Ryder, do you know of anyone who would want to hurt your daughter? Anyone who might have had a grudge against her or someone she used to associate with?” Spencer spared a glance in my direction. He was still frustrated I wouldn’t tell him who I suspected could be behind this, but I just didn’t have the courage yet to face what could be all my fault.
I didn’t hear Mr. Ryder’s answer as the memories washed over me relentlessly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“He wasn’t the only killer, Y/N.” Riley lunged, his agony and fury blazing in his eyes. Almost in a daze, I raised the gun and shot at his leg. He let out a cry of pain as he fell to the ground.
“I know he wasn’t the only killer, Riley.” I walked towards him before crouching down to stare into his face. “And I’m sorry it had to turn out like this.” Tears began falling from my cheeks. “But I had to do this. I had to protect him.”
Riley met my gaze, the anger gone and replaced by misery. “But what about me? We were friends, Y/N.”
I moved a piece of his hair out of his face. “I know we were.” I stood back up, pointing the gun at him again. “But he’s my family.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neither Shelia or Callie’s family could think of anyone who wanted to hurt their daughters. The team was getting relentless with their questions now.
I dialed Garcia’s number and walked away from the group.
“You have reached Penelope Garcia, technical analyst to the stars! What wish can I grant for you today?” Garcia’s voice was cheery through the phone.
“Hey Garcia, I need you to do something for me. And not tell the team I asked.”
“Of course, but...Y/N, eventually you should tell them what you know, okay?”
I sighed. “I know, Penny. I need you to look up a name for me and see if he’s been released from prison. The name is Riley Maddox.”
I listened to what she said and let out another sigh as I hung up.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Have you heard from Reid?” Alex poked her head through my hotel room door. “He went to go check out the last crime scene and hasn’t checked in yet.”
I looked over. “No. Who sent him alone?” I was terrified of Spence going anywhere alone when it came to cases, ever since Tobias Hankel.
“Yeah, he said he was just going to take a quick look around on his way back to the hotel. That was about an hour and a half ago.” Alex stepped inside and sat on the bed.
“I could try calling him. Gimme a--” Before I could finish, my phone started ringing. Spencer’s name flashed across my screen. “Never mind, this is him calling now.” I picked up the phone. ‘Spence, where are you? Alex said you went to go check out the Finnigan crime scene over an hour ago and hadn’t checked in yet.”
“Hello, Y/N.” My blood ran cold. My hand began shaking so bad I almost dropped the phone. “Long time, no talk. How have you been?”
“What did you do with Spencer?” I breathed, my throat tight with fear. Alex sat up straight, alarm crossing her features.
“Ah, straight to the point I see. Don’t worry, your little boyfriend is safe. For now.” His voice hadn’t changed a bit. “But you see, he won’t be for long. We have a score to settle. And I’ve come to collect. Game on, Y/N. Will you find him first....or does Spencer Reid die for your crimes?”
The line went dead. I dropped the phone, sinking to the floor on my knees, hands raising to hide my face as tears began flowing freely and sobs began shaking my body. Alex sat beside me, prying my hands away.
“Y/N, you have to tell me what just happened.” She put her hand under my chin to raise my head. “Y/N, where is Spencer?”
“He has him, Alex,” I croaked out through my sobs. “He has him. He’s going to kill him. We have to find him.”
“Who has him, Y/N?” Her voice was harsh. “No more lies.”
I sobbed harder. “It’s all my fault, Alex. It’s all my fault.” I pushed her away from me and stood up, crossing my arms and looking out the window. “Riley Maddox. He has Spence.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Riley stared at the gun, his hand pressed against the bullet wound in his leg. “What are you gonna do, Y/N? Kill me too?”
I shook my head, the gun steady in my hand. “No, Riley. I’m not going to kill you.” I sighed. “Only your dad had to die. You’re going away, Riley. There’s enough evidence to put you away as an accomplice.”
Riley snarled. “I never did anything and you know that. I never helped him or his partner kill anyone. I was just protecting my dad.” His gaze was accusatory.
“Just like you’re protecting yours, Y/N.”
