Laters, Baby: Chapter 14
Read Chapter 13 Here
Word Count: 1,343
Pairing: Winchester!Sister x Lucifer
Warnings: language, fluff, angst
A/N: Sorry Iâve been so spotty with updates but hereâs chapter 14! Let me know what you think and if youâd like to be tagged!
Laters, Baby Masterlist
In less time than it took you to blink, you were away from the wrecked Impala and in a swanky hotel room. You stepped out of Luciferâs arms and up to the large window that took up most of one wall.
Opening the curtains, you gasped, âVenice? You poofed us to Venice?â
Lucifer shrugged, âItâs regarded as one of the most romantic cities in the world. And Paris just seemed so clichĂ©.â
You laughed to yourself as you looked out over the canals that ran through the city. It was beautiful, the sun just beginning to rise. The view was vastly different than the sight of mangled metal you had left behind on that pitch-black road in Kansas.Â
A small sigh left your lips, not going unnoticed by the fallen angel standing behind you. âWhat is it?â
You turned to face him, âIs this really the way to do this, Lucifer?â
He looked at you confused, âWhat do you mean?â
âWell,â you sighed again as you searched for the words, âmaybe we should have done this the normal way? The human way? You know, dating and lame dinners and movies. The getting to know you phase thatâs probably important. I mean, you know nothing about me except my profession, my family, and that Iâm your soulmate. And you hate two out of the three of those things!â
âHey, I donât hate you being a hunter. It was... inconvenient at best. Same with your brothers,â he said as he crossed his arms.
âYou tried to kill me! Several times!â
âNever directly!â He scoffed, âI never physically met you and, technically, somewhat attempted to kill you until we met that day in that warehouse.â
You squeezed the bridge of your nose. While you felt immensely better since being in Luciferâs presence, the weight of the situation was beginning to settle squarely on your shoulders.
âListen to me,â he grabbed you by the arms and sat you next to him on the bed, âThis,â he pointed between himself and you, âis meant to be. I mean, come on, itâs literally cosmic. Remember when I told you about the connection? When we do that, I will know everything I need to.â
âI know that, Lucifer. But-â
âShhh, my darling. Letâs not think about it now. Let us just enjoy this beautiful city and being near each other again. Iâm sure you had your fair share of uncomfortable moments while we were apart.â He laid on his side on one side of the bed while you did the same on the other, facing him.
âI got a migraine so bad my eye bled.â
He brushed the hair from your eyes, âMy sweet angel. Hopefully your brothers will learn their lesson from that. You belong here with me, forever.â
----------
âDean didnât you learn your lesson last time? If we take Y/N away from him, itâs gonna do something awful to her. Maybe even kill her this time.â
âApparently not! We need to get her away from him. Iâm telling you, thereâs no way Lucifer just up and accepts his soulmate is a human. The only reason heâs doing this right now is because once the connection is...â he paused as he shuddered at the thought of his sister with the devil, âwell, you know, connected, heâs gonna be even more powerful. After that? He may not need her anymore.â
Sam sighed, âAlright, I see your point. But how are we supposed to find her? I mean they could be anywhere.â
âNot anywhere.â Castiel piped up from his place in the corner where he had been standing for the last five minutes with his eyes shut. âIâve been scouring the planet for your sister and, while I cannot pinpoint her directly, she is in fact on Earth but no longer in the United States. Lucifer is cloaking their location but I can sense their general area, and I believe they are somewhere in Southern Europe.âÂ
âSouthern Europe? Seriously?â Dean scoffed and rolled his eyes.
âCan you at least narrow it down to a country?â Sam asked hopefully.
Castiel shut his eyes and was silent for a moment. He grimaced as he attempted to fight his way through Luciferâs warding, âItaly I think.â
âItaly? Seriously??â Dean repeated his sentiment.
Sam shrugged, âIt makes sense if you think about it. Theyâre soulmates and Iâm assuming Lucifer wants to take her somewhere to complete the connection, so most likely something... romantic.â He cringed as he said the word, âSome of the cities in Italy are considered to be the most romantic places in the world.â
âIâm gonna throw up.â Dean placed a fist to his chest as he sat down on the couch in the study. After the incident with the Impala, Cas poofed them back to Bobbyâs, who in turn went to tow the beloved car back to the scrapyard.Â
âCome on Dean, be serious. I donât want to think about this anymore than you do but this is the situation and we have to deal with it.â
âI know Sam, but what are we supposed to do?â
âGo get her back, thatâs what.â The men looked up as Bobby chose that moment to walk into the study. Â
Dean grimaced, âHowâs the car?â
Bobby sighed, âLetâs have you be pissed at one thing at a time.â
Dean swore and ran a hand down his face, âCould this night get any worse?â
âI mean, yeah. We know Y/Nâs alive boys. All we gotta do is figure out a way to get her back.â
Dean scoffed, âYeah, no problem, just waltz in and take her back from the Devil.â
âFirst, we have to find out where she is. Thatâs the main objective right now. After that, we can try to figure out a plan to get her back that doesnât result in all of our deaths,â Sam huffed a laugh.
âIt will not be easy. As soulmates, Lucifer will do anything to keep Y/N in his presence. Especially if the connection has not been completed; that amount of power to be gained will be too much for my brother to resist.â
âY/N soulmates with the Devil, I still canât believe it. I also canât believe you kept her parentage a secret from me for so long. And from her. I oughta smack you, boy.â
Dean sighed, âDad asked me not to Bobby. And then when Dad split and I went to get them from Stanford, we had more important things to do. I shouldâve told them after we knew Dad was okay, but I just kept putting it off. And then Dad died and I just didnât want to at that point.â
âJohn shouldâve told her a long time ago, not put it on you. Like he did with everything else,â Bobby grumbled. John was dead and the man still managed to piss him off. âStill, Luciferâs soulmate beinâ left with the father of both holy vesselâs? Hell of a coincidence.â
âY/N believes it is not a coincidence. She theorizes that she was meant to be left with John. That the soulmate to the Devil along with both holy vessels together had a chance of stopping the apocalypse,â Castiel stated.
Bobby shrugged, âHonestly itâs the only thing that makes a lickâa sense.â
âNo Bobby! This is not fate! This is just these dick angels screwing with us again. Weâre going to go get her before they complete the connection.â
âHow Dean? All we know is that theyâre in Italy, and thatâs a big if considering both Y/N and Lucifer are warded in some way. Even if they ARE in Italy, how the hell are we going to find her? We canât search a whole country.â Sam stated matter-of-factly.
âObviously. What we can do is find a way to find out exactly where she is and then, hopefully, find a way to distract Lucifer long enough to get her out. And then Iâm never letting her out of my sight.â Dean stood and clapped his brother on the shoulder, âLetâs go find our sister, Sam.â

âY/N!â
You heard a muffled version of your name being called, where was it coming from? Slowly, you opened your eyes and blinked several times. As you looked around you, you couldnât process what was happening. All you knew in that moment was that your ears were ringing something fierce and your whole body hurt.
âY/N!!â
The force of the yelling of your name caused your mind to clear, allowing you to evaluate the situation around you. You looked to your left, finding Sam unconscious next to you with blood running down his face. Looking to your right, you saw the smashed in passenger side of the Impala. Your first thought was, Dean is gonna be pissed.
Dean.
You looked to the driverâs seat to see Dean looking back at you. Leaning against the door, he was the only one conscious besides you.
âFuck, finally. Are you alright?â
You mentally took stock of your body, everything sore but nothing hurting until you got to your right leg. As you tried to move it, you let out a yelp.
âAh! Shit, fuck, I think my leg is broken. And my wrist is still messed up.â You took a deep breath and leaned back against the seat, looking back at your brother, âWhat about you? Are you alright?â
Dean sighed, âIâm fine. I hit my head and I think I may have sprained my wrist. We just need Gigantor to wake up now.â
You both looked at Sam who was still unconscious, âThink heâs alright?â you asked.
âHeâs got a thick skull; he should be fine.â Dean shrugged and let out a small laugh.
âScrew you, Dean.â
You both turned to see Sam finally starting to sit up. He let out a small groan and put a hand against his head, blood coating it when he pulled it away.
âSo, someone wrecked the Impala again?â He asked as he checked a cut on your forehead, you pushing him away so you could check his.
Deanâs face immediately turned red, âWhenever I find this asshole itâs gonna be a long, painful death.â
In the moment after Dean stopped talking, you heard something. You turned your head towards the crashed side of the car.
âWhat is it?â Sam asked in a low voice.
âShh.â
In the silence, you heard people talking outside the car but couldnât make out the words. But they were getting closer.
âGo, grab her. Iâll take care of the brothers,â you heard a muffled male voice say.
âDamn,â you swore as you knew there was no escaping this situation.
âWhat?â asked Dean.
âDemons. Theyâre here for me.â You told your brothers, causing Sam to sigh and Dean to swear.
âNo way. They arenât taking you.â Dean tried to get to you in the backseat but with his injuries, it was impossible.
At that moment the backside passenger door was ripped off, revealing a dark-haired man and a blonde woman. Their eyes flashed black, confirming your suspicion of them being demons.
âTime to go princess,â the man said in a low baritone.
You sneered at him, âOne, fuck you. Two, I canât go anywhere. My legâs broken.â
âThat sounds like a you problem, Winchester,â the woman quipped.
âHey bitch.â You turned to see Dean holding a container of holy water, which was your cue to duck. He flung holy water onto the demons causing them to hiss and step away from the Impala.
âNice band-aid Dean but thatâs not really a permanent solution.âÂ
âHey at least it was something! They arenât taking you Y/N! We got plenty of holy water to hold out until Bobby comes, I sent him a text.â
âOh god you texted Bobby, weâre doomed,â you let out a small laugh at the fact you were mostly right; you didnât think Bobby even knew how to send a text.
âNice one, Dean-o. But I donât think your fancy water will work on me.â
You all turned to see Lucifer occupying the space his demons had vacated moments before. Dean and Samâs eyes were dinner plates, shocked at Luciferâs brazen actions. But you, you were dealing with the rush of emotions that hit you once you saw him.
Fear, longing, attraction. It almost felt like a force was pulling the two of you together. It took a great deal of your willpower not to jump into the archangelâs arms and allow him to whisk you away.
Lucifer turned towards you and met your eyes, âGood to see you again, angel.â He said with a smirk.
âHi Lucifer,â you deadpanned, trying to ignore not only the pain in your leg, but also the awkwardness of the situation.
âOh angel, always broken in some way when I find you.â
âSeriously? Your demons are the ones who hurt her! Twice!â Dean yelled at the devil.
Lucifer turned to Dean as his eyes flashed red, âIâm sorry was I talking to you? No, I was not. Now if you donât mind Winchesterâs, your sister will be coming with me now.â
Lucifer stuck a hand toward you, gesturing for you to take it. You felt Sam squirm as he attempted to get closer to stop you. Turning to both your brothers, you gave them soft smiles. âI love you both, and hopefully Iâll see you soon.â Â
A single tear streaked down your face as you realized there was a very real possibility youâd never see them again. But you had to go with him. Not only would the connection not let you leave without him this time, but you knew if you tried there was a likelihood heâd take out his frustrations on your brothers.
âNo. CAS!â Dean yelled as you took Luciferâs hand, feeling the familiar sensation of his grace throughout your body as you did. It healed every wound you had as you stepped out of the crushed Impala.
There was a sound of fluttering wings that came from behind you, and as you turned you saw Castiel by the driverâs side door. He began to help Dean who, after being healed, demanded the angel save you.
Cas looked from Dean and met your gaze. You sent him a small prayer, Take care of them for me.
With a sigh, Cas nodded and ignored Deanâs order and began to help Sam. When they both were healed, they stepped out of the car, all turning to face you. You were standing next to the devil, his arm looped around your shoulders. Without them even having to verbalize it, you knew this sight crushed your brothers.
âPlease, Lucifer donât do this,â Sam pleaded.
âSorry boys, sheâs mine. I donât want you disrupting us again either.â He raised his hand to snap his fingers and do God knows what but you stopped him with your hand on top of his.
âNo, please. Donât hurt them. I know youâre angry but they wonât separate us again. Please.â Lucifer took in your pleading look and lowered his hand, nodding. Heâd go to the ends of the Earth if you asked, so sparing your brothers was no big deal.
Lucifer turned to the three men, âLaters, Losechesters.â And with a snap, you both were gone.
Dean swallowed hard and looked down, trying to stop the tears the felt coming. Heâd failed you, again. Samâs head just dropped with the weight of not only your absence, but the guilt of letting it happen. They turned to Cas, almost pleading with the angel over what to do next.
Castiel sighed, âThere is nothing we can do. Sheâs made her choice, now it is time we trust her to do the right thing.â

âSimple salt and burn my ass. Did Bobby do any research on this house before he gave us this case?â You complained as you sat at the motel table doing research while Dean cleaned his gun on the bed and Sam had just finished showering.
âWhy, whatâs up?â asked Sam as he approached you from behind drying his hair.
âThis house was the site of a serial killing. A victim of the BTK killer was killed here, oh my god.â
âNo way. Really?â Sam asked as he looked at the laptop over your shoulder.
âBTK? What the hell is that?â asked Dean as he slid a magazine into place.
âSeriously Dean? Heâs one of the most famous serial killers in history; he killed at least 10 people. I learned about him in one of my classes at Stanford. BTK stands for bind, torture, kill. Guy still gives me the skeeves,â you shuddered.
âShit really? And this is a victims house?â Dean asked as he walked toward the motel table.
âYeah checks out. And the way the people have been being attacked lines up with the way the girl was attacked and killed,â answered Sam.
âSo is it the victim or BTK?â Dean asked as he walked around the table and sat down, leaning back to reach the fridge and grab a round of beers for everyone.
âWell Rader, BTK, died in prison. So thereâs no reason for him to be tied to that house. Iâd say itâs definitely our girl,â you replied as you accepted the beer from Dean.
âThis is going to be an interesting case,â Sam said with a sigh as he took the beer from Dean and sat down. âHavenât had a good ghost hunt in a while.â
âIt says here sheâs buried in the town cemetery. So, Dean, you wanna go dig her up while Sam and I go to the house?â you asked as you shut the laptop.
âWhy do I always get the dirty jobs?â
âYou lied to Sam and me for over 25 years; I donât want to hear you complain about anything I ask you to do for a very, very long time,â you batted your eyes at your eldest brother.
He nodded his head at you, âTouchĂ©, kid. TouchĂ©.âÂ
------------ Later at the house, you and Sam made sure the place was empty. The previous occupants had fled after the last attack, leaving the home vacant. It was silent in the small house, until the ring of Samâs phone caused both of you to jump.
Sam grabbed it and looked at the caller ID, âItâs Dean.â Flipping it open, he put it on speaker and answered. âHey Dean, did you find the grave?â
You both heard heavy breathing on the other end of the line, âIâm getting too old for this shit.â
âYouâre 30, Dean,â Sam rolled his eyes, âDid you burn the bones?â
âYes I burned the bones,â he replied out of breath. âI just finished filling in the grave.â
ïżœïżœïżœAlright, Sam and I will sweep the house one last time so just get back here.â
âSuper.â Dean rasped out before he hung up.
Sam flipped the phone closed and turned to face you, âWell, you take upstairs and Iâll take downstairs?â
âMeet back at the front door and then we can get the hell out of here in time to hit the bar.â
Sam rolled his eyes with a smile as you ran up the stairs. You looked through the bedrooms and, finding nothing, began to trudge back down the stairs. As you hit the second step on the staircase, you felt two hands in the small of your back and before you could react, they gave you a hard shove. With a scream, you tumbled down the stairs and landed at the bottom with a thump.
Sam came scrambling around the corner to the base of the stairs to see you groaning at the bottom. âY/N!â He rushed to your side and breathed a sigh of relief to see you were still conscious. âAre you alright?â
âJust peachy, Sam. Not like I just fell down a damn flight of stairs or anything.â You rolled your eyes at your twin. Attempting to stand, you hissed and grimaced as you put weight on your right hand, âAh! Son of a bitch! Goddammit I think I broke my wrist.â
Your brother grabbed your wrist to examine it and opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by the front door slamming open. You both turned expecting another ghostly encounter, only to see your older brother strut in waving his gun around.
Dean walked in and cleared the room before looking at his siblings on the floor, âI heard Y/N scream, what happened?â
Sam helped you stand as you answered, âWell, either our girlâs tied here some other way, or thereâs something else in this house. Something pushed me down those stairs and now my goddamn wrist is broken.â
âI burned those bones, thereâs no way that ghost is still here.â
âThen what else could be here?â Sam crossed his arms in frustration.
âWell I didnât throw myself down the stairs. Something is here,â you groaned as you held your wrist and leaned on Sam to stay upright.
âGood observation, Winchester.â
All three of you turned to follow a British accent towards the staircase finding a tall, blonde man standing in the middle of them. As your eyes met his, he flashed his blue eyes onyx causing every Winchester in the room to let out a collective sigh.Â
âSeriously? Iâm gonna kill Bobby. Simple salt and burn my ass,â you repeated your sentiment from earlier in the evening.
âDonât blame your surly hunter friend, Winchester. Before I arrived it WAS just the spirit here.â The demon began to descend the stairs as he spoke, âNo Iâm here for a different reason all together.âÂ
âWhat could you possibly want?â you yelled.
âYou, Miss Winchester. You see, our Father has issued a bounty on you. Any demon that brings you back to him alive will be rewarded greatly, and I intend to be that demon.â His thin lips curled into a sickly smile.Â
âLike hell.â Dean fired the shotgun into the demonâs chest, causing him to fly backwards. âTime to go.â He grabbed your good wrist and pulled you through the front door, Sam pulling up the rear.Â
Suddenly, Sam got thrown by a force into the lawn.
âSam!â you yelled. You and Dean turned to look back and saw the demon in the doorway.Â
Your brother put an arm protectively in front of you, âYou arenât taking her to Lucifer. Over my dead body.â
âThat can be arranged.â The demon smiled, âJust give me the girl and no one gets hurt. For once no one gives a ratâs ass about the infamous Winchester brothers, just their whore sister who miraculously is the soulmate to the devil.â
âHey!â You yelled at him. âJust because youâre a demon doesnât give you license to be a dick.â
âNo one talks to my sister like that.â Dean lifted the shotgun once more but with a wave of his hand, the demon flicked it out of his hands. With another wave, Dean was thrown away from you.
âDean!â He and Sam were groaning in a heap on the lawn, leaving you alone with the demon on the sidewalk. You turned your attention to him, âIâm not going with you.â
âMy dear, I donât think youâll have a choice. See, Iâm a demon and youâre an injured, female hunter. Not exactly much of a fight,â he smirked. In a flash, he backhanded you across the face.
Your face turned to the side with the force. You looked at him wide eyed as you wiped the blood from the corner of your mouth, realizing he had a bit of a point. But youâd be damned if you went down without a fight. Bringing your leg up behind you, you grabbed Rubyâs demon knife out of your boot. You leaned forward and slashed, making contact with his arm.
âAH! You bitch! Youâre lucky Lucifer wants you or Iâd kill you right here.â
âNot if I kill you first you black eyed bastard.â
Fighting with your non-dominant hand was difficult, but you held your own. The demon got a few licks in, but he was no match for the knife. Dean yelled from the lawn, causing the demon to look away from you just long enough to make your move. With one swing, you brought your left hand around and plunged the demon knife into his chest, causing him to spark orange inside his vessel as he died.
The vessel collapsed on the ground as your brothers rose from it, making their way over to you. You bent over and pulled the knife from the manâs chest, the blade still smoking.Â
Sam got to you first, âYou alright?â He grabbed your face to check the split lip and saw a bruise forming on your cheek.
âIâm fine Sam. I just need Bobby to set this stupid thing and Iâll be good as new.â
âFrigginâ demons man.â Dean growled as he made his way to the driverâs side of the Impala.Â
âMy sentiments exactly. But Dean, Lucifer issued a bounty for me. Attacks like this are only going to get worse,â you slid into the backseat with your twin, him tending to your injuries.
âI know, kid. Weâll figure something out.â
Dean threw the car into drive and headed back to Sioux Falls. With a yelp from you, Sam set your wrist and wrapped it in a bandage from the first aid kit. You gave him a look of contempt as he did so since you A. werenât expecting it and B. expected Bobby to do it when you got back.
âYou better not have fucked that up, or Iâll re-break it on your jaw,â you smirked at your brother.
âHa-Ha. You know itâs right; I wanted to get it set before it started to heal wrong.â He sighed, âWhat are you thinking Y/N/N? I can see your wheels turning.â
You sighed in return, âThat I should just go to Lucifer like I planned. You and Dean are gonna get hurt soon and I donât wanna risk it.â You replied to him lowly so Dean wouldnât hear; he was pissed enough.
âYou know that isnât an option.â
âI know but-â
The screech of the impact of metal on metal interrupted you as another vehicle rammed into the passenger side of the Impala. The car flipped twice before landing right-side up on the side of the road, leaving all of the Winchesterâs inside unconscious.

A/N: Sorry itâs late but hereâs Chapter 11! Let me know what you guys think and if youâd like to be tagged!
Laters, Baby Masterlist
âNo.â
âWhat do you mean ânoâ?â
âIâm not going to help you summon Lucifer, Y/N. Not when your plan is to shut out your brothers and submit yourself to him fully.â
You huffed, âI thought you agreed that this was happening for a reason?â
âI do. But this is not the way to go about it. Your family is on the other side of that door and wants to help you. Let them.â
âHA!â You rolled your eyes and began pacing, âFamily. Thatâs rich, Cas. According to Dean I have no family.â
Cas sighed, âDean did not mean what he said in the way you interpreted it. Heâs worried for you Y/N; Lucifer entered your subconscious and he believes heâs using the connection and its effects to manipulate you.âÂ
You looked at him confused, âHow do you know all of that?â
âThe Winchesters are my charges; it is my duty to watch over and protect you all. I was coming to speak to you all about Lucifer and I showed up when you awoke. I decided to keep my presence hidden as you took care of family business.â
You sighed, âWhat am I supposed to do?â You looked down and rubbed your temples; everything from the past hour was giving you a migraine.
âI am not sure. We should bring back your brothers and Bobby so we can discuss it. While this is your life, you are not the only person who it will impact.â
âI know that Cas,â you grimaced and rubbed your forehead; your head was really starting to hurt. âI just want to do whatâs best for my brothers, the world, and, well, myself.âÂ
âI understand. We will figure it out, Y/N. Please, allow me to fetch Sam, Dean, and Bobby. All of us together can determine the best solution.â
You heard what Cas had said but were having a hard time focusing on the angel in front of you, feeling like you couldnât get your eyes to focus on one spot for too long. It caused the headache to move back to your temples and behind your eyes, and you began holding the sides of your head to try to get it to stop.
Cas tilted his head and walked towards you, âWhatâs happening? Whatâs wrong?â
You grimaced, âAh, I donât know. My head has been hurting since I woke up and itâs starting to get worse.â
Cas moved right in front of you and lifted your chin with his finger, making you look up at him. When you finally met his gaze, his demeanor immediately shifted at what he saw. He waved his hand at the door and moved the dresser that had been shoved in front of it.
âSAM! DEAN! GET IN HERE!â Castiel bellowed through the newly opened door.
Three pairs of boots could be heard running through the house and up the stairs. When Sam, Dean, and Bobby all arrived in the room, all they saw was your back with Castiel standing in front of you cupping your face.
âWhat is it? Whatâs wrong?â asked Dean.
âYou need to see this.âÂ
Cas moved from in front of you to allow the three men to take his place. When they did, they were speechless. It was obvious you were in pain from the expression on your face, but that wasnât what bothered them.Â
It was the trail of blood leaking from your right eye.
âWhat the hell? Y/N/N are you alright?â Sam moved forward to look more closely at your face.
You took a shaky breath, âMy head really hurts, Sammy. Whatâs happening?âÂ
Sam brought you into his arms and turned to look at his brother, who in turn looked to Castiel for answers. âWell?â
âThe blood isnât coming from any injury that I can sense. The headache and the bleeding are not caused by any physical ailment. Itâs the connection. Sheâs been away from him for over 24 hours and it must be affecting her more than we originally believed. Lucifer visiting her in her subconscious Iâm sure did not improve things.â
âWhy were you in here in the first place?â Dean skeptically asked the angel.
âShe called for me. She wants me to help her summon Lucifer. Originally, I vetoed that idea without your input, but now Iâm not seeing many other options. This connective migraine could subside on its own...â
âOr?â questioned Sam.
âOr it could persist until she is reunited with Lucifer. Possibly get worse.âÂ
âWhat about Lucifer? If sheâs like this, shouldnât he be feelinâ the hurt downstairs too?â Bobby moved to wipe the blood from your face; it was killing him to see you hurt like this. The Winchesterâs were basically his own kids, but he was especially protective of you.Â
âMost likely, though Iâm sure itâs not to this degree. Luciferâs human vessel will feel the physical pain but it will be more irritating than anything. The longing is what will affect him the most.â
It was quiet for a few moments as what was happening sunk in. The boys looked at each other in silent conversation both saying the same thing: they had no idea what the fuck to do.
Sam looked down to the shaking form in his arms. Another trail of blood was streaming down your face and it was obvious you were still in pain. He looked to Bobby, âWhat do we do, Bobby?â
The elder hunter sighed, âDo I look like a devilâs soulmate handbook to you? I have no idea what we should do. Honestly, the only person we should be talking to about this decision is her. This is her life; sheâs the one that will have to deal with the pain. It should be her decision, not ours.â
âWe canât let her run off with Lucifer, Bobby. Thereâs no way heâll just turn over a new leaf for her. We, we can fix this. We can find a way to put him back in the cage without hurting her.â Dean was pacing at this point.
âThat would be inadvisable, Dean. If you were to return Lucifer to his cage in Hell now that the connection has begun, you could very well kill your sister.â Dean ran his fingers through his hair pulling slightly. What the hell were they supposed to do?Â
âWait, Iâm starting to feel better.â You emerged from Samâs arms and walked to stand in the middle of the four men. âThe headache is subsiding.â
âYou arenât bleeding anymore either.â Sam pointed out.Â
You put your hand up to your eye to see that Sam was right. Whatever just happened was not pleasant, and you would prefer if it didnât happen again.Â
âSo what do we do now? Whatâs our next move?â Dean asked the angel.Â
You knew what you thought you should do, but Cas was right, everyone needed to weigh in on this.
The angel sighed, âTruthfully, I am not sure. Part of me believes we should go with Y/Nâs original plan to avoid another of these episodes. But the other knows what my brother is capable of and how his mind works; we should come up with a plan. You three should continue hunting as you normally do, I shall look for ideas for what to do next.â With a whoosh, the angel was gone.
âSo what? We just go hunting like normal and pray you donât have another episode in the middle of it? Yeah, thatâs a great idea.â Dean scoffed and walked to the window. Like hell he was risking that.
âIâm fine Dean. This is our job and we have to do it. Letâs go downstairs and look for a case. Honestly going on an actual hunt sounds good to me right now, I canât think about all of this for another second or Iâm gonna go insane,â you said with a small laugh.
âI think you already are insane! Youâre in no shape to hunt,â yelled Dean.
âI hate to agree with Dean Y/N, but I think heâs right,â said Sam.
You scoffed at your brothers and went to argue with them but were interrupted by Bobby, âI got word of a salt and burn over in Wichita. Should be simple, âspecially with the three of ya. Go take care of that and see how she does and go from there; ya canât just stop hunting. Youâd go insane and youâd drive me insane by staying here.â
You looked at your brothers pointedly, âWell?â you asked crossing your arms.
Sam looked at Dean expectantly and the eldest Winchester sighed, âFine. Weâll go on this salt and burn. But I swear on everything that is holy Y/N if you even sniffle during this hunt Iâm bringing you back here to Bobby. And you have to tell us if anything hinky or Lucifer-ish happens. Capiche?â
You rolled your eyes but nodded, holding up your three middle fingers, âScoutâs honor.â Â
Dean sighed, âFine, letâs roll out.â
You and Sam left the room to prepare for the hunt while Dean hung back in the bedroom with Bobby. The eldest Winchester sighed once more and ran a hand down his face. This was a bad idea.
âItâll be alright, boy. If she says sheâs fine, then sheâs fine. Donât go all overprotective on your sister or sheâll resent you and then Lucifer will have an even bigger chance of getting her.â
âI hope youâre right Bobby, I really hope youâre right.â

Laterâs, Baby Masterlist
You were pleasantly surprised that, although you had slept in Hell and on the way here, you felt tired almost as soon as your head hit the pillow. You had gotten more sleep in the last 24 hours alone than all three Winchesters combined got in a week. Though, with everything that had happened, could anyone really blame you?Â
You snuggled deeply into the sheets of the bed and took a deep breath. Flipping over to your other side, you pulled the silk sheets up to your... Silk sheets? You opened your eyes to see red silk sheets in place of the white cotton ones that had been there before. What the hell? you thought to yourself. You were facing the door of the bedroom at Bobbyâs house so you hadnât left, what was going on? You returned to your left side and gasped as you were met with a pair of deep blue eyes.Â
âI know you said red was clichĂ©, but these are so much more comfortable than the drab that was on here before, arenât they?â
You furrowed your eyebrows, âLucifer?â
âIn the flesh. Well, sort of.â
âBut, how? Howâd you find-â you paused and let out a small laugh, âIâm dreaming, arenât I?â
ââfraid so doll. I know youâre disappointed you donât get all this in person but since my annoying little bro carved that warding into all of your ribs, I canât find you physically. This is the only way we can talk.â
âTalk about what? Are you finally going to tell me what the hell is going on?â
Lucifer sat up against the headboard and you followed suit. He took a deep breath and pushed a piece of hair behind your ear. It may have only been a dream, but it felt so incredibly real to you; you felt his hand touch your face and the chill that went down your spine as a result.Â
âI suppose itâs only fair that you know as much as I do. This involves you too.â He sighed and rose from the bed, beginning to pace in front of it. âYou know, this whole thing is just as weird for me as it is for you. Youâre... human. Your whole race is broken, flawed. And for some Dad-forsaken reason, I canât bring myself to kill you. Iâm developing feelings. Itâs terrible.â
âOkay this is getting a little insulting...â
âBut itâs not terrible, thatâs the thing. I like it. I like you. I was there when Father created the soulmate connection for humans. It was beautiful, one of the only things I envied of your kind. Itâs incredibly rare, but deep and powerful when it happens.â He moved to sit back beside you on the bed. âWhy Father brought you to me, I am unsure, but I am glad he did. I am eager to complete the connection, because I know that once we do we will be incredible together. Powerful.â
âComplete the connection? What do you mean? And powerful? Lucifer Iâm so lost right now.âÂ
He caressed your face, âRight now, we are only in the beginning stages of the connection. I miss you, but itâs tolerable. After we complete the connection, we will truly become soulmates. Our souls will intertwine and become one. The mixture of your humanity and my grace as a result will make us extremely powerful, BOTH of us.âÂ
âHow do we complete the connection?â
Lucifer smirked, âThatâs the fun part. Iâve never had intercourse with a human, but from what Iâve seen it looks extremely enjoyable.â
âWoah, woah, wait. What?? Okay, number one; please donât call it intercourse. Number two; we complete the connection by having sex? Seriously??â
âYes, angel. And when we do we will be inseparable. You will receive some of my grace, and I will receive some of your humanity, making us two of the most powerful beings in existence.â
âThis...this is insane.â You leaned back and rubbed your temples.
âTrust me, I know. It wonât happen immediately, Iâm not a monster.â
âYouâre literally the devil.âÂ
âYes, but like I said, Iâm nothing if not one for the classics. All that old school romance stuff looks fun. Plus, itâs a rule of the connection, it cannot be forced in any way.â
You let out a breath you didnât know you were holding. For some reason you trusted Lucifer, but knowing those things put you more at ease regardless. You were lost in your own head when Lucifer suddenly stood, âI have to go.â
You stood as well, âWait what? Why? Lucifer, I have so many questions.â
He walked towards you and brought you into his arms. It was strange; you kept forgetting this was a dream because everything felt so real. You could feel his cool arms around you and how safe you felt in them; you could smell him, although you couldnât place it, as it was something completely Lucifer. You only knew two things in that moment: how much you missed Lucifer and how much you wanted him to kiss you right now. Both of those things were equally amazing and surprising to you.Â
âYou will wake soon. Come find me out there. Find Castiel, he will tell you the proper way to summon me. Knowing him, he is somewhat supportive of this since itâs Dadâs plan and will help you. The pain of the separation will get worse the longer weâre apart, so try to hurry,â he said with a smirk.Â
He looked down and cupped your face in both of his hands. You swore your heart stopped; he was going to kiss you. He leaned in slowly and you closed your eyes, waiting for his cool lips to meet yours and...
You woke up abruptly, shooting up into a sitting position with a gasp. You sat forward so suddenly you almost knocked foreheads with Sam who was sitting next to you on the bed. Thankfully he was able to scoot back in time to avoid the collision, but you woke up so abruptly that even Dean and Bobby, who were standing at the foot of the bed, took a step back as well.Â
You were sitting there breathing heavily for a few seconds before Sam broke the silence, âY/N, what the hell just happened?â
Turning to look at your twin, you tried to come up with a deflection on the fly, âWhat do you mean? I took a nap and had a nightmare, not exactly a new occurrence.â
Sam turned to look at the two men at the foot of the bed before turning back to his sister, âY/N/N weâve been trying to wake you up for over an hour, nothingâs worked. When we finally gave up you woke up on your own.â He handed you the glass of water heâd placed on the bedside table when he first came upstairs.
âYeah, so you wanna try the truth this time?â Dean snapped, folding his arms.
After taking a long drink, you dropped your head into your hands; everything that was going on your life was starting to give you a migraine. The last thing you wanted to tell your family was that you spent your time in dreamland with Lucifer. You rubbed at your temples while contemplating on how to explain what had happened, reluctantly deciding on the truth.
You looked to your family and began, âI came up here to lay down and mustâve fallen asleep because when I rolled over, Lucifer was there.â
Dean cursed and ran a hand over his face, but Bobby was confused. âI donât understand. How exactly did that happen?â
âAngels can enter our subconscious mind while weâre dreaming. Cas has done it to Dean before and Lucifer did it to me soon after he took Nick as a vessel. Y/N, what did he say to you?â
âHe explained the soulmate connection; what it takes to complete it and what will happen afterwards.â
âYeah you complete it and youâre like, officially soulmates. Being separated from you wouldnât weaken him,â explained Sam.
You looked at Sam and sighed, âThatâs part of it.â
Dean walked forward, âWait, part?? What the hell else is there? Cas only told us about the completing part.â
You looked at your brother incredulously, âGood to know you knew more about this thing that affects me than I did,â you fidgeted with your hands and took a deep breath. Telling your brothers the next part was not going to be easy, you partly expected Dean to actually explode.Â
âAccording to Lucifer, we complete the bond by, well, having sex,â you continued, causing everyone in the room to cringe at your statement. âBut after that, apparently something happens, something mystical. He said that once the bond is completed, I will receive some of his grace and heâll receive some of my humanity, causing us to become two of the most powerful beings in all of creation.â
You looked up from your fidgeting hands to see three pairs of wide eyes staring back at you. It wasnât really surprising; you did just drop a huge bomb in their lap. You were having trouble believing it yourself.Â
Dean suddenly swiped the books that were on the desk across the room onto the floor. You flinched at the sudden outburst. It wasnât too surprising though; you knew Dean would be pissed.
âHey, some of them books are one of a kind boy. I know you ainât happy but if you ruin one of them books, Iâll put a boot in yer ass.â Bobby moved to pick up some of the books off of the floor, âI was buildinâ up a collection of books on archangels and this is what I got so far. How about instead of getting all hot and bothered, we do some research and try to find out what to do about this?â
Before anyone could move, Dean exploded. He turned to you, looking madder than you had ever seen him. âHow are you so calm?? You just dropped that giant bomb on us so nonchalantly. Are you, like, okay with this or something?â
You stood from the bed, âOf course Iâm not okay with this Dean! I donât think any of us are okay with anything that has happened in the past year. But after talking to him, I think that I am Luciferâs main focus, not the apocalypse. If we become as powerful as he says we will, we can strengthen Nick and he wonât need to take Sam as a vessel!Â
âAnd Iâm human! Donât you think maybe loving and being with a human will cause him to maybe not hate us as a species so much? Angels are real, Dean, which means God is real. I know this is a concept that both of us have struggled to come to terms with, but now? I donât think we have a choice. He apparently made me for Lucifer and I can feel it. Itâs not something we can just ignore and hope goes away. Being away from him much longer is going to start to be physically painful. Weâre running out of options.â
Deanâs face was stone; he always was hard to read. You couldnât tell what was running through his mind and you were worried. Bobby and Sam were silent near the door, watching the scene unfold before them. They had learned long ago to not get in between a Dean-Y/N fight; it was how Sam earned his first black eye as a kid.Â
The stone face was beginning to turn red, âNo. No we are not out of options. Our original plan could still work. We can still shove the Devil back in the box!â
âAnd how do you think that would affect me, huh? I can already feel how being away from him is affecting me. Imagine if we put him back in the cage, what would happen to me? Weâre Winchesterâs, this is apparently our destiny!â
Dean scoffed, âDestiny?? God can take destiny and shove it right up his ass. You shouldnât have any part in this, Y/N. I shouldâve made you stay at Stanford when Dad went missing. This isnât your fight; you arenât even really a Winchester.â
âDEAN!â
You barely heard Samâs exclamation. Your eyes went wide and your chest tightened as your worst fear became reality right in front of you. Ever since you found out you werenât really their sister this was your greatest fear, that theyâd drop you like yesterdayâs newspaper.Â
The room was silent as they awaited your reaction. A single tear slipped down your face as you finally met Deanâs gaze again.
âGet out,â you said quietly.Â
You were too calm. It wouldâve been better if you had started screaming at him. Bobby started herding Dean towards the door while Sam remained in the corner of the room. Dean had immediately regretted what heâd said as soon as it slipped past his lips. He turned and paused in the doorway, âY/N/N-â
âI SAID GET OUT!â You grabbed the glass of water from the bedside table and launched it towards your brother. It impacted on the wall near his head, Dean ducking out of the doorway in the nick of time.Â
You were breathing heavily as the door closed. You walked up and leaned your forehead against it, tears streaming down your face when a hand landed on your shoulder. Spinning around you came face to face with Sam, who you had forgotten was still in the room.Â
âPlease, just go Sam.â
âDean didnât mean that, Y/N. Heâs just upset and worried. You ARE a Winchester, no matter if John and Mary are your parents or not. Obviously, you were meant to be in our family and as Bobby always says, family donât end with blood.â
You smiled at your twin who returned it. In that moment you knew what you were going to do about the situation at hand. But you knew you couldnât without saying something to Sam.
âSam, youâre the best twin any girl could ever ask for. Youâve been my best friend my whole life and you were there for me through everything. I love you, Sam. So much. But you canât be there for me through this. Iâm sorry.âÂ
âI love you too, Y/N/N. Whatâs going on? Whatâre you sorry for?â
âFor this.â You opened the door and shoved your brother through, closing and locking it after he was out. To ensure your twinâs six-foot-four frame wouldnât bust through, you shoved the dresser in front of it as well.Â
Standing there for a second, you just listened to Sam bang on the door, calling for you and then for Dean and Bobby. You knew you didnât have much time before the three of them would be able to get the door open.
You closed your eyes and for a minute the room was bathed in silence. When you opened them again, you waited expectantly. Suddenly, there was a whoosh sound and you turned to the figure that had appeared in front of the window.
âY/N, your brothers are on the other side of that door and very upset. What is happening? Why have you barricaded yourself from them and called me?â Cas squinted his eyes and tilted his head at you, a trait you had always found endearing.Â
âI need help Cas and I know youâre the only one who will help me.â Â
âWhat is it that you need?â
You took a deep breath and took a step towards the angel, âI need you to help me summon Lucifer.â Â

âBobbyâs gonna be pissed, Dean.â
âYeah, well, when is he not pissed at most of the things we do? Once we explain everything he should be, less pissed.â
You had fallen asleep on the long ride to Sioux Falls, and the bumpy road into the scrapyard had woken you up. The small sense of calm you had from sleep was abruptly ripped away as you realized you were still handcuffed to the car.
âDammit Dean let me go!â
Your older brother just sighed, âWill you stop yelling? Iâm right here.â
As the Impala rolled to a stop, you watched as both of your brothers exited the car. You waited expectantly for Dean to come around and let you out. He did not.
âDean what the hell?! Let me-â
Your protests were cut off as he slammed his door shut, marching his way up to the porch. Sam shot you a sympathetic look and followed.
Sam reached the door right as Bobby pulled it open. The old hunter looked at the two boys, âWhatâd you two idjitâs get into this time? And whereâs your sister?â
Dean pushed past him into the house, âFunnily enough it wasnât us this time. Little sister out there is in deep.â He made his way to the kitchen, pulling a beer from the fridge before plopping down at the table.Â
âDean,â Sam sighed at his brother as he moved past and stood near the entrance to the study. âY/N didnât do anything Bobby. You know how we thought she wasnât involved in this apocalypse crap? Well, we were wrong.âÂ
âBalls.â Bobby moved and grabbed his own beer from the fridge, sitting across from Dean at the table, âWhat the hell is her role in this crap?â
âOh, you know, bride of Frankenstein,â Dean said sarcastically as he took a long pull from his bottle.
Bobby gave him a funny look before turning to Sam, âWhatâs stuck in his shorts?âÂ
âWell, before that,â he said pointing to you outside, âY/N and Dean were arguing over the fact that sheâs⊠Luciferâs soulmate.â
âSHEâS WHAT??â Bobby bellowed shooting up from his seat.
âYeah, Cas confirmed it. They think that if she goes along with it, Lucifer may give up his apocalypse plans. If he learns to love Y/N, he can learn to love the rest of humanity as well. Dean doesnât agree.â
Bobby turned to the window, âWhy is she still in the car?â
Sam scoffed, âThat would be Dean too. He was sick of arguing with her about it so he tossed her over his shoulder, threw her in the backseat, and then handcuffed her to the car.â
âOh donât act like Iâm some kind of villain Sam. Y/N spent time with Lucifer and started the connection, which means she doesnât think straight when it comes to him. She wasnât going to come here and to the panic room willingly so I made transportation a little easier.â
Bobby glared at the eldest Winchester, âJust because youâre sickâa arguinâ with your sister, doesnât give you the right to handcuff her to the car. Iâm not gonna let you force her into the panic room neither. Now Iâm gonna talk to her about this cup oâcrazy, and then we can decide what to do next.â He turned to Sam, âGo get your sister.â
Sam walked over to his brother, hand held out expectantly. Dean rolled his eyes but stood, digging in his pocket before dropping the handcuff key into Samâs waiting hand.
Dean turned back to Bobby to argue but was cut off, âSheâs gonna kill you when she gets in here boy, and I might just let her. What the hell were you thinking?â
âAll I was doing was protecting my family. Thereâs no way Lucifer is just going to stop looking for her. The best way to keep her safe was to bring her here to the panic room.â
âYou had no right to handcuff her to the car, Dean.â
Dean went to argue but was interrupted as the front door flew open, an irate Y/N plowing through with Sam scrambling on her heels.
âYOU BASTARD!â
âY/N I-â
âShut up! I donât even want to hear you speak right now. Iâm so pissed I canât even see straight. What the hell were you thinking?!â
âI was just trying to keep you safe, Y/N. Youâre my little sister, itâs my job.â
Bobby sauntered over to where Sam was standing by the fridge, âPlease tell me you took all her weapons?â
âAre you kidding? I did that before I even uncuffed her from the car,â Sam whispered back.
He apparently wasnât quiet enough, âYou better be happy he did Dean Winchester because Iâve spent hours HANDCUFFED TO THE FUCKING CAR thinking of all the ways I could kill you. What the hell gave you that right to do that?â
âThe panic room is the safest place for you right now. Along with the scribbles on your ribs, you wouldnât be able to be found by anything or anyone. I just want you safe Y/N/N.â
âAnd you thought that was the way to go about it? If you just wouldâve suggested we go to Bobbyâs and werenât hellbent on locking me in the panic room, I wouldâve just gone! No argument! But no, Deanâs way is the only way and you essentially kidnapped me instead.â
âIâm sorry, okay? It was the best idea I had at the time.â
You scoffed, âOh like you thought not telling me about Dad for over 25 years was a good idea?â
The color drained from Deanâs face, âThatâs not fair.â
âYeah, well, none of this is fair to me.â
Bobby made his way between you and your older brother, âAlright, ya idjits, back to your corners. We have enough to deal with without you two killinâ each other.â He turned to you, âWhat were you talkinâ about? What about John?â
You scoffed and stomped into the study, âOh come on Bobby, like you didnât know. You were Dadâs best friend for a while, thereâs no way he didnât tell you!â
Bobby followed you looking completely confused, âY/N/N, I got no idea what youâre talking about. But Iâd be appreciative if you filled me in.â
A single tear slipped down your cheek and you sighed, not wanting to relive the worst moment of your life. But Bobby deserved to know. âIâm not a Winchester. Iâm not Johnâs daughter or Sam and Deanâs sister. Iâm just a kid who was ditched on a motel doorstep.â
Bobby plopped down in his desk chair in stunned silence, âThatâs⊠thatâs not possible. Look at you two, youâre twins! Anyone can see that!â
âSheâs telling the truth Bobby. Donât feel too bad though, we didnât know til a couple days ago. Dad and Dean decided that was a fact Y/N and I didnât need to know. Dad saved Y/Nâs biological mom on a hunt where her husband was killed. She didnât want to raise a baby alone so she left her on Dadâs doorstep. He decided to keep her and, since her birthday was only a few days off, went with the story of us being twins,â Sam said sadly as he sat on the couch in the study.
âIâd say itâs impossible but, nothing is impossible when it comes to Winchesters.âÂ
âTell me about it,â you huffed.
âI ainât tryinâ to rain on your pity parade Y/N, but we need to talk about what the hell is going on.â
You sighed and sat next to Sam, âI really donât even know where to start anymore Bobby. So much has happened in the past few days.â
âWell kid, just start at the beginning.â
So you did, you told him about your first run in with Lucifer, Cas confirming he was your soulmate, but when you got to the part about your time in Hell Bobby stopped you. âWere none of you idjits gonna call me and tell me that she had been kidnapped and taken to Hell?â
âWe had it taken care of Bobby, we got her out.â Dean answered.
âHow exactly did you manage that?â
Dean was quiet and Sam looked down and rubbed the back of his neck. Obviously, they were reluctant to tell Bobby how they had rescued you from Hell.Â
âThey sent Crowley for me. He was the only one who could get in and out without too much fanfare.â
Bobby rolled his eyes, âYou know, Iâm a little offended a crossroads demon knew Lucifer was your soulmate before I did. All Sam said when he called was to get everything I could on soulmates. What I got was that the connection was extremely rare, nothing talked about the fact that angels could have one.â
âThatâs because Y/N is the first. According to Cas they donât, but God must think she can give Lucifer a new view on humanity and prevent the apocalypse,â Sam explained.
Bobby gave you a thoughtful look, âBoys will you run upstairs and get one of the rooms ready for her? I know theyâre gonna need new sheets and after everything sheâs gonna sleep like the dead.â Your brothers gave Bobby a strange look but nodded and left the room.Â
You gave him a similarly strange look, âAlright ya old coot, whyâd you send them away?â
He sighed, âWhat happened in Hell? What is your relationship with Lucifer like now? Because I know something about you is different.â
You dropped your head into your hands and rubbed over your eyes as you dragged them down and sighed, âI donât know Bobby, nothing really significant if you think about it. I mean we talked a little, and then he left. But after he saved me, something changed. He helped me to the bed and I asked him to tell me everything. He just laughed and said in due time. And then he pushed a piece of hair behind my ear, kissed my forehead and left. When he left the room is when I realized something had changed because, I didnât want him to go. And to be completely honest? I miss him. I miss being in Hell with him. It feels like a piece of me is missing, like something isnât quite right ya know? God whatâs happening to me, Bobby?â You pressed the heels of your hands to your temples; unsuccessfully hiding the tears that had begun to stream down your face.
Bobby moved to sit next to you on the couch and pulled you into his arms, âItâs gonna be okay, kid. I know youâre scared and that your idjit brothers ainât exactly been helpful. Weâll figure out what our best option is and go from there. Now why donât ya go upstairs and get some rest. Even if you donât sleep just try to relax, give an old man some peace of mind would ya?âÂ
You gave him a small smile and kissed him on the cheek, âAnything for you, Bobby. Iâll see you later.â You stood and headed up the stairs, passing Sam and Dean on their way back down.Â
âAnd donât you do no research neither!â Bobby hollered after you, returning to his chair behind the desk.
âYeah, yeah!â You tossed over your shoulder as you disappeared upstairs.
The boys moved from the base of the stairs and returned to their respective spots in the study, âWell?â Sam asked.
âIf your face is any indication Bobby things are not good.â Dean moved to sit next to his brother and waited for Bobby to answer him.
âWell, they arenât exactly bad neither.â
âThatâs not comforting.â
âWell, Dean, what do you want? Your sister finally talked to me and, while Iâm not exactly happy with this situation, it sure could be a hell of a lot worse.â
âHow?! How exactly could this be worse?â
âWell if youâd shut your trap for two seconds, Iâd tell ya.â Dean huffed but crossed his arms and stayed quiet. âNow nothing happened while she was in Hell, Lucifer didnât do anything to her. But that connection you were telling me about? Itâs definitely started.â
Sam sat forward, âHow can you tell?â
âUh, cuz she told me? She felt a shift in his behavior and her feelings toward him, less Satan and more archangel Lucifer. He kissed her forehead when she was in Hell; I think that physical contact is what caused it to start. But them being apart is definitely a tangible feeling for her, she said like a part of her is missing or that something just isnât quite right. And well, she straight up misses him. Close your mouth Dean, I ainât finished. Before you freak out, she ainât a flight risk. She understands that something is happening to her and is keepinâ a level head about this. You boys need to be supportive and help her stay that way. The last thing she needs is more stress.â
Both brothers sighed and it was quiet for a few moments. Sam was the first to break the silence, âYouâre right, but what are we going to do? If this is how Y/N is feeling, Lucifer canât be feeling great. Heâs going to come after her.âÂ
Dean stood, âWeâre gonna do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Lucifer is not going to get to her again.â

Crowley took a deep breath before running through his rescue plan again. It consisted of teleporting into where he thought Y/N might be and kind of just winging it from there. Why was he doing this again? Oh right, to weaken Lucifer and save a Winchester.Â
Bollocks, this was a terrible plan.
With a snap of his fingers, Crowley teleported into the part of Hell he assumed Y/N was being kept. Turns out he was right; the chambers had been redecorated, however, and as he walked into the bedroom the youngest Winchester was fast asleep in the bed. He observed the red accents the room was covered in and smirked. How clichĂ© of the devil, he thought to himself.Â
As he approached the huntress, he saw she had a black eye and a split lip, finger shaped bruises were also forming around her throat. âBloody hope the Winchesters donât blame me for this.â he whispered out loud. He felt a twinge of sympathy for the girl, spending quality time in Hell with Lucifer was probably no vacation.Â
He pulled the covers off the bed back and scooped the huntress into his arms when the room suddenly dropped ten degrees. âBollocks.â
âYou know Crowley, you must be a special kind of stupid to pop into Hell these days. May I ask why you have the baby Winchester in your arms?â Lucifer sneered as he waltzed into the bedroom.
âI was sent to retrieve her. Plus, if it pisses you off it tends to top my list of things to do these days.â
Luciferâs eyes flashed red, âI suggest you put her down, demon. If you hurt her or even wake her up, youâll have me to deal with. She belongs here with me.â
Crowleyâs eyebrows shot up at his concern for her, but he remained focused. âTouching, really. But Iâve got two hunters and an angel who beg to differ, so I really must be going. Ta-ta now.â And with a snap of his fingers, Crowley and Y/N were gone. The roar Lucifer unleashed as a result shook the walls throughout all of Hell.
âSam, I swear to God if you donât stop pacing, Iâm gonna break both your damn legs.â
Sam rolled his eyes and sighed at his brother but sat down next to him at the table. âCrowley should be back by now. Maybe you were right, this was a bad idea. We shouldnât have trusted him.â
âMarvelous Moose, I should just return this to where I found it then?â The men turned to glare at the demon as he gestured to the unconscious woman in his arms. Sam and Dean scrambled from the table to approach their sister, Dean taking Y/N from Crowleyâs arms. They moved to one of the beds in the motel room and laid her down.Â
Sam squinted at the wounds littering his sisterâs face and neck, âWhat the hell happened, Crowley? She looks terrible.â
âThat Moose, I do not know. She was like that when I arrived in Hell. Iâm assuming spending quality time with Lucifer in his domain is no spa trip. However, Iâm not sure Lucifer did that to her.â
Dean looked at the crossroads demon incredulously, âWhat are you talking about?â
âLucifer seemed extremely protective when I showed up. He said she belonged with himâ
âItâs beginning,â Castiel marveled.
Dean stood from his sisterâs bedside and approached the angel, âWhat do you mean? Whatâs beginning Cas?â
Cas sighed, âThe soulmate connection. Lucifer has spent time with Y/N and as a result does not want to be separated from her. Itâs possible that she will feel similarly when she wakes. Itâs not conscious thought, but a physical need to be near one another. I agree with Crowley, it is unlikely Lucifer caused those injuries.â
Dean moved to question Castiel further when a groan came from the bed. He turned and made it to his sister in two large steps, âY/N/N? Hey are you okay?â
You groaned and slowly opened your eyes. You were shocked when, instead of Luciferâs face, you were met with Sam on your right and Dean on your left. âSam? Dean? What happened? How did I get here?â
âHey are you alright?â Sam checked the bruises forming on your neck and grazed your split lip with his thumb.
You rolled your shoulders and sat up on the bed, âYeah I think so. My throat hurts a little and I have a headache but Iâve had worse. How did I get here?â
âWeâll get to that in a second. What the hell happened, Y/N? You look like crap.â
You rolled your eyes, âThanks for that Dean. And nothing really, I pissed off a demon and this was the aftermath. You know, typical Winchester things.â
Crowley laughed from across the room and Dean shot him a dirty look. âYeah, okay, that I get but you should look much worse. You were in Hell and had no weapons; you should be a bloody pulp or dead. Why are you basically fine?â
You looked down and picked at your thumbnail, âWell I pissed off a demon and he decided to choke me to death, making up for losing one Winchester in Hell by killing another.â Dean cringed at the implication that his Hell-break was the reason for his sisterâs suffering. âWell, right before I lost consciousness someone pulled him off of me. When I finally regained my senses and looked up, turns out it was Lucifer. And he was pissed. Dusted the demon right there.â Â
Dean tilted his head at you as a small smile appeared on your face when you talked about Lucifer. He looked at Sam and had one of their silent conversations about it. Cas was right; it was starting.Â
âSo, is someone gonna tell me who busted me out of Hell? Because I know it wasnât you two dopes and Cas canât just waltz into Hell on his own,â you paused as you glanced to the crossroads demon in the corner of the room. âIâm guessing thatâs where you come in?â
Crowley nodded and waltzed toward them, âRight you are Moosette. You were snoozing away in my former quarters when I popped in. Love what youâve done with the place by the way.â
You rolled your eyes, âI didnât exactly get a choice in dĂ©cor Crowley. Red isnât my color anyways.â
Samâs eyebrows shot up, âYou were sleeping in quarters? That were decorated in red? Y/N, what the hell happened while you were down there?â
You paused and contemplated how to answer your twinâs question. There was no way in hell you were going to tell them how you were feeling about the devil currently, that would get you immediate and permanent residency in Bobbyâs panic room. So, you decided to tell the truth, mostly.Â
âWell, honestly? He treated me really well. He healed me when I first got there from Megâs assault and then put me in that apartment-type thing. Which had no food in it, which is why I interacted with the demon and pissed him off, which resulted in the lovely array of bruises you see before you. Lucifer saved my life.â
You looked up to see four pairs of eyes staring back at you in disbelief. Sam looked confused while Dean looked flat out pissed, âAlright, weâre going to Bobbyâs. We can do more research about this crap and the warding in the panic room should keep Lucifer and his lackeys from finding Y/N.â Dean stood and began packing everything back into the various duffel bags.
Your eyes widened, âWhat?? Dean Iâm not going to let you lock me up in the panic room.â You stood and walked over to your older brother, âWhat happened in the park was a fluke and I know you guys were worried but Iâm fine. I am not going to hide in Bobbyâs basement while you all act like my white knights. Iâll be alright.â Crowley took the impending argument as his cue and blinked from the room.
Dean took a step back in an attempt to calm himself some, âY/N we canât risk him finding you. I mean look at you; I canât take the chance of you getting hurt again. In the panic room you will be safe and Lucifer wonât be able to hurt you anymore.â
âLucifer didnât hurt me in the first place! The opposite actually! He healed me AND saved my life-â
âWhy are you defending him? Heâs the devil! You arenât thinking clearly and while itâs not your fault Iâm not taking any chances. We are going to Bobbyâs where you can hang out in the panic room until we can figure out what to do about this soulmate bullshit.â
You were fuming. You werenât thinking clearly? You knew what was happening to you, but that didnât mean you were helpless. You took a deep breath, âDo you think I donât know that something is happening to me? Do you think that it doesnât scare the absolute hell out of me? Because it does. Did you ever stop and think that this is why I was brought into your family? That fate brought me to you, the vessels of Michael and Lucifer, in order to maybe have a chance at stopping the apocalypse? Maybe if Lucifer and I-â
âThere is no Lucifer and you! Heâs not getting near you again Y/N, and thatâs a promise. We will stop the apocalypse, but not like that.â Dean looked at Cas and sent him a silent prayer.Â
The angel looked at him like he was insane, âNo. I will not render your sister unconscious to make your life easier.â Cas walked over and placed two fingers to your forehead and, instead of doing what Dean asked, healed your wounds. âI agree with what Y/N was saying; Father made her Luciferâs soulmate for a reason and I do not believe we should interfere.â Â
âYeah? What if it backfires Cas? What if Lucifer makes her go darkside?â Dean pointed to you, âThatâs my baby sister and Iâm not taking that chance. I will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.â
While your brother argued with the angel, you changed out of the clothes youâd been wearing for two days and into fresh jeans and a flannel, sitting to pull on your boots. When you stood, you went and returned your weapons to their rightful places on your person: knife in boot, gun at your back. You sighed as you finally felt like yourself after days of absolute craziness.
With no warning, Dean stomped over and picked you up, throwing you over his shoulder. He made his way out to the Impala as you punched and kicked against him.âDammit Dean, put me down!â you continued your assault on your brother, âIâm serious! PUT ME THE FUCK DOWN NOW!â
He ignored your protests and made his way to the back passenger-side door, pulling you from his shoulder to toss you into the back seat.Â
Before you could argue, Dean grabbed your right wrist and handcuffed you to the car, âThis is for your own good Y/N/N.â
As he slammed the door, he made his way to the front of the car where Sam was standing. Samâs eyes were wide as he read your lips, watching you let out a stream of expletives thatâd make Dean blush.
âWas that really necessary?â
âBeing with Lucifer changed her, Sam. I canât risk him finding her again. Dad gave me one job our whole lives, and it was to watch out for you and Y/N. This is me doing that. Now letâs go.â

âThis is a horrible idea.â Dean deadpanned.Â
âDo you have any better ideas, Dean? Because I donât, Cas doesnât, and I only told Bobby to look up anything he could about soulmates; we donât need him freaking out over this. Anyways weâre human and canât just waltz into Hell without either being dead or with some form of demonic assistance. This is our only option.â Sam gave his brother a sympathetic look and continued to gather the summoning supplies.
âHow do we know heâll even help us?â
âWell Crowley wants Lucifer gone and if we retrieve Y/N it may throw him off balance enough for him to make a mistake. Also, from my observations it seemed Crowley always did tend to favor Y/N out of all of you which may make him more inclined to retrieve her from Hell.â Cas stated nonchalantly as he supervised Sam preparing the summoning ritual.
âOkay, itâs ready.â Sam placed the bowl of ingredients on top of the sigil and used a knife to cut his hand, bleeding into the bowl, âEt ad congregandum... eos corum me.â He completed the ritual by dropping a lit match into the bowl, igniting the ingredients. The men looked around, awaiting the arrival of the crossroads demon.Â
âYou know, demons do carry cellphones these days. Summoning is so 14th century.â The hunters and the angel spun around, finding a man clad in all black standing behind them.Â
âCrowley.â Dean grumbled.
âMoose, Squirrel, and your pet angel; lovely. Well, what is it that was so important that it required a summoning? And whereâs Moosette? Never seen her too far from you lot.â
All the men cast their eyes downward as they were reminded that Y/N was, in fact, not there. Sam was the one to reply, âWell, Crowley, thatâs the reason we called.â
âWhat? Little sister run away? Iâm not a babysitter in case you havenât noticed.â
âWill you shut up for two minutes Crowley? This is important.â Dean growled.
âTesty, testy. All right, get on with it.âÂ
Dean sighed, âSheâs gone. Taken actually.â
âAnd why do you need me? Isnât that what you two do? Guns blazing to save the damsel in distress?â
âBecause we canât go where they took her. But you can.â Sam informed the demon.
âI donât...â The men waited for the dots to connect in Crowleyâs head. âWait, Hell? Y/Nâs in Hell? Why the hell is your sister in Hell?â
âThat is... complicated.â Sam explained.Â
âIf you are wanting me to go into Hell to retrieve her when Iâm currently public enemy #1 you bloody well better uncomplicate it.âÂ
âLucifer has her Crowley. Meg grabbed her from a park and took her to him in Hell. We have no idea where in Hell sheâs being kept but it wonât be too far from wherever Lucifer is and is probably pretty well guarded.â Sam rubbed the back of his neck.Â
âBut why, Moose? You or Squirrel Iâd understand but your sister has been relatively quiet in most of this apocalypse business.â
âY/N is,â Cas began but was cut off with dirty looks from both Winchester brothers. âThe whole of perdition already knows most likely, he should too if heâs going to attempt to retrieve her.â Dean still looked skeptical but Sam nodded. Crowley looked genuinely curious, what could be so important? âY/N was crafted by God to be a soulmate; something incredibly rare in itself. However, even more rare, she was crafted for an angel, more specifically an archangel. She is meant to be the soulmate to Lucifer.â
Crowleyâs eyes looked as if they were going to explode from his head. The boys didnât blame him; their reactions were similar. âLucifer has a sodding soulmate? And itâs a Winchester? And I thought nothing could surprise me anymore. So, you want me to go into Hell and get her. I have an inkling of where sheâs most likely being kept if heâs being civil towards her. Why should I do this?â
âBecause if we take Luciferâs soulmate from him it should throw his general bearing off, making him weak until he recalibrates from being in her presence. The longer they are together, the weaker they will be when they are apart; at least until the soul connection is completed.â Castiel almost whispered the last sentence, not wanting the brothers to overreact. Too late.
âCompleted? What do you mean by the soul connection being completed Cas?â Dean asked incredulously.Â
âConsummated, Dean. Lucifer and Y/N must consummate the connection for them to be actually bound and connected by the soul. However, neither party can forcefully complete the bond. So Lucifer cannot force her by magic or any other manner to complete it, it has to be completely consensual,â Cas informed the group. Samâs face went white while Crowley smirked and Dean looked confused.
âConsummate. You mean...â
âHorizontal tango, squirrel.â Crowley laughed.
âYes. Crowley put it rather crudely, but yes. Your sister would have to have intercourse with Lucifer to complete the bond.âÂ
âCas, please donât say intercourse. Especially when youâre talking about my sister.â Dean rubbed a hand down his face. This angel was going to kill him. Again. âWell Crowley, will you do it or not?â Crowley looked skeptical. Why would he go to the number one place he should avoid for the Winchesters?
âI understand your hesitation. But you said you might know where she is being kept which gives you an advantage. You should do this because itâs an opportunity to weaken Lucifer, which is one step closer to defeating him. Also because, why I am unaware, you seem to have a soft spot for Y/N and she is currently in Hell. With Lucifer. Those two things together are not good.â Cas deadpanned to the crossroads demon.Â
âDonât read my mind, wings. Makes me feel violated.â Crowley paused, âBloody hell, alright. Iâll go. But I make no guarantees. I will save my own hide if it comes down to getting her out or staying alive. Deal?â
Dean and Sam looked at each other and had one of their silent conversations. They were both skeptical and Crowleyâs last statement didnât help that. âFine, deal. Just please, Crowley. Try to get her out.â Sam pleaded with the demon as they shook hands.
âIâm a man of my word Sam. I will do everything in my power to retrieve her. Like the angel said, for some reason I actually like the female version of you.â With that, Crowley snapped his fingers and disappeared and all Sam, Dean, and Castiel could do was wait. Wait for a demon to rescue their sister from the devil.Â
They were screwed.
It had been a day since you had woken up in Hell, and you hadnât seen hide or hair of Lucifer since he brought you to this room. You were utterly confused. For being the devil, Lucifer was being awfully nice to you. He healed you, treated you well, and gave you these nice chambers; it made no sense. You expected wrath and rudeness, not kindness and a bit of domesticity. What was it exactly that Lucifer wanted from you?
Your stomach growled. Oh yeah, while Lucifer had healed you, you still hadnât eaten in over a day. You made your way into the kitchen of the small... apartment? You still werenât sure what to call this place. You checked the cabinets: empty. Then the fridge: also empty. You rolled your eyes, what happened to this place having everything I needed? you thought to yourself. This meant you had to deal with one of the demons standing outside the door. Marvelous.
You walked to the ornate door and took a deep breath. You were completely unarmed and had to ask a demon to get food for you, this was ridiculous. You opened the door to see the back of a large man with dark skin in a suit on the other side. He turned to face you and flashed his already dark eyes onyx when they met yours. âWhat are you doing? You know you canât leave these chambers.â
âYes Iâm aware but your boss neglected to put food in this place. Iâm human and have to eat every once in a while to, ya know, live. So, can you get me some?â
The man rolled his eyes. He was obviously less than thrilled with his job assignment. âSeriously? Why should I do anything for you, Winchester? Wait until the King returns and Iâm sure heâd do it for you.âÂ
Your already thin patience was becoming nonexistent. âLook, its not like I have much of a choice in this. I havenât eaten in over a day and Lucifer told me to come to you for anything I need...â
âJames.â He sighed.
âJames. So do your damn job. You know, I wonder, if I exorcised you while in Hell, would it work? Would it force you from your vessel and to a different part of Hell or would it just be unpleasant? Shall we find out?â
He flashed his eyes black at the huntress once more, âDonât even think about it, Winchester. Iâm here to make sure you donât leave, not be your errand boy.â
You shrugged and began chanting, âExorcizamus te, omnis immundus spirtus, omnis satanica-â That was as far as you got in the exorcism before the demon lunged into the room, grabbing you by the throat and pinning you to the wall. You attempted to buck the demon off, but he punched you in the face once, twice, three times and stalled your struggle.
âYou know, when I first saw Meg bring you down here I was excited. Finally, another Winchester after big bro made the big angelic escape; it should be fun. But no, Lucifer brings you down here and treats you like royalty. Why? Youâre human, a hunter, and a Winchester. Maybe he isnât the leader we thought he was. Oh well, at least I get to kill you. Iâll be a goddamn hero to most for it.â
Your vision was beginning to darken at the edges. You werenât going to be conscious much longer, and dead not long after that. As you were beginning to teeter into unconsciousness, the pressure was suddenly gone and you fell to the ground. After a few seconds, you gasped a big breath and began to cough. You looked up at your savior and through your blurred vision saw an interesting sight: Lucifer holding the demon off the ground by the throat and looking pissed.Â
âNow James, this is not what I assigned you to do. Last time I checked I said to guard the door and get her the things she needed, not to choke the life out of her against the wall. Do you know why sheâs down here James?â The demon shook his head and Lucifer flashed his eyes red, âThatâs because you are insignificant and not privy to such information. Youâre a demon, Iâm the devil, and Iâm tired of this conversation.â Lucifer snapped the fingers of his free hand and the demon turned to dust. He fanned away the remnants of the demon floating in his face and turned to the coughing woman on the floor, âAre you alright?â
You attempted to stand but fell to your knees, that demon did a number on you. âPeachy,â you were able to rasp out, flashing him a sarcastic âOKâ sign with your hand.Â
Lucifer rolled his eyes as you continued to cough, reaching his hand out to you. âCâmon kid, letâs get you up.â Â He grabbed your left hand and pulled you to your feet, leading you to the bed in the other room. âGo on, get in.â
You looked at the devil quizzically but climbed into the king size bed, sitting up against the headboard. The mattress was unlike anything you had ever felt before; a lifetime of squeezing onto uncomfortable motel beds with Sam made this feel like an actual cloud. You sighed and closed your eyes as you sunk down into the bed, feeling Lucifer sit next to you. âAre you alright?â he repeated.Â
âIâm fine, Lucifer. Iâve had worse.â You sat in silence for a moment as you picked at a loose stitch on the comforter. You looked back up at the devil, unable to keep your questions to yourself any longer. âI donât understand whatâs going on. Why do you care? Why am I here? Why are you being so nice to me?â
Lucifer sighed, âI will tell you everything, Y/N. I promise. But not right now. Right now, you need to sleep and I need to deal with my demon problems. Itâs so hard to find good help these days.â You let out a small laugh, which made the devil smile, something heâd noticed himself doing a lot since you arrived in Hell. He pushed a stray hair behind your ear, âGet some sleep, angel. Iâll be back in a couple hours.â Kissing your forehead, he stood and headed for the throne room.
You watched as Lucifer left your chambers, a part of you wishing he would stay. Your eyes widened at your own realization. You were beginning to see him differently. In the day youâd been in Hell Lucifer had been great to you, healing you, saving you, and now he was pushing hair behind your ears and kissing your forehead and calling you angel. He was becoming less like the devil, and more like your soulmate.

Sam stood and began pacing the motel room, stopping to look out the window. The sun was up. Y/N had been gone for a couple of hours now and they still hadnât heard anything from her. If Cas hadnât flown out to check on her, he for damn sure would not be in this motel room just waiting.Â
He took a deep breath and ran a hand over his face. She looked so distraught when she left. He just wanted to talk to her to make sure she knew that Deanâs confession changed nothing. He and Y/N were still twins; peas in a pod, two sides to the same coin and any other expression he could think of. Theyâd been inseparable since he could remember and he did not want that to change. She was his best friend and he wouldnât know what to do without her.Â
Sam was shaken from his internal struggle by the sound of the motel room door slamming. âSheâs still not back yet??â Dean asked while setting coffee and breakfast on the table.
âNo and Iâm starting to get worried. Sheâs been gone for a while and Cas left an hour ago to check on her and I havenât heard from him either. Should we go look for them?â
Dean sighed and took a long drink from his coffee. âLetâs eat first, give her some more time if sheâs still just processing. If theyâre still not back when weâre done, weâll go look for them.â
Sam nodded at his brother as they both sat down at the table to eat. He went to take a bite of his food when Castiel burst through the door of the motel room. Sam looked the angel up and down; he looked like crap. Shit. This could not be good.
âCas what the hell happened, man? You look like you got your ass kicked.â Dean got up to examine the cut on the angelâs forehead and looked behind him to the open motel door expecting Y/N to walk in next. âWhereâs Y/N Cas?â
Cas took a deep breath, âSheâs gone, Dean.â
âWHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN SHEâS GONE?!â Dean bellowed in the angelâs face.
âI tried to save her Dean. We were talking in the park, I believe I was successful in helping her feel better regarding her situation, when demons appeared. Originally it was only Meg,â Dean cursed and Sam ran a hand down his face at the demons name. Would they ever be rid of her? âBut then two more arrived to assist her. The two attacked me while Meg went after Y/N. She held her own but by the time I dealt with the two demons and tried to help her, Meg had rendered her unconscious and blinked away with Y/N in her arms. Most likely to Hell as I could not follow wherever it was they went.âÂ
Sam jumped up from the table with wide eyes, âMeg works for Lucifer, Cas. Basically his right hand since heâs been topside. Dean, if Meg has her...â
âShe took her straight to Lucifer. Dammit!â Dean punched the wall in frustration. Â
âCalm down! We need a plan. Lucifer is most likely in Hell; if weâre going to get Y/N out weâre going to need to find a way in. That means we need to call someone with direct access to Hell...â
âYou donât mean?â Dean asked Sam incredulously. Sam nodded sadly.Â
Dean sighed and wiped his hand down his face. With a punch downward, the eldest Winchester yelled, âFUCK!â
The first thing you noticed when you started to regain consciousness was the ache in the left side of your head/face. Your mouth was also extremely dry; when you went to lick your lips, you winced as your tongue grazed your split lip. Fucking demons. You went to rub the side of your head and found you couldnât move your hands. You looked up and saw them chained above you.
âOwwwwww. Fucking demons, man.â As soon as you moved your head the pounding worsened. You pulled on your restraints with no luck; they were completely secure. All of the movement was causing your head to pound even more. âFucking fuck. Fucking demon bitch.â
A chuckle came from the darkness in front of you, âYou have quite the mouth on you little Winchester. Donât worry though, I kinda like it.â
You looked ahead and saw two eyes flash red. Of course it was Lucifer, should you have expected anything less? âLucifer. Wish I could say itâs good to see you, but Iâve tried to cut down on lying through my teeth.â
The devil chuckled once more, âLike I said, doll, quite the mouth.â The devil emerged from the darkness and came to stand right in front of you. His blue eyes met yours as he moved forward and cupped your face, running his thumb over the split in your lip. He tsked, âI told them to go easy, precious cargo and all. You mustâve really pissed Meg off.â
âI may have called her ugly, and told her to tell you to shove it up your ass. And then I broke her vessels nose.â You shrugged your shoulders as best you could with your arms strung up above you.Â
Lucifer laughed again. Odd, he sure does laugh a lot for being the freaking devil. âFeisty, I like it. You seem much less afraid of me than before. Have you warmed to me baby Winchester?â He asked with a smirk.
You rolled your eyes, which made you wince; your head really did hurt. âI have a name you know? And I wasnât scared of you last time necessarily. Just kinda shocked, I guess? Not everyday the devil shows up and says âIâm your soulmate!â It was half shock and half thinking you were most likely full of shit.â
He looked at you and put two fingers to his chin, âAnd now? Do you still think Iâm full of shit?â
You sighed, âNo. I know you were telling the truth. Weâre really soulmates.â
His eyes went wide but the ever-present smirk remained, âReally? Iâm assuming you didnât just take me at my word, I am the devil after all.â
âWell duh. Told my brothers and Castiel what you told me, and then I got to have Cas shove his arm up my ribcage so he could touch my soul. You know the fun, excruciatingly painful stuff.âÂ
Luciferâs face fell; he honestly looked upset. Did you say something wrong already? âYouâre telling me my brother touched your soul?â
âYes? He said it was the only way we could be absolutely sure. He touched it and said he could feel a connection to yours, meaning you were actually my soulmate. Itâs been an interesting 12 hours let me tell you.â It hit you just how long this night had actually been. You were going on over 36 hours without sleep and were pretty sure Meg had given you a minor concussion when she knocked you out.Â
Lucifer noticed that the woman in front of him was struggling to keep her eyes open. âWeâll come back to that, what in Dadâs name is wrong with you?â
You rolled your eyes for at least the hundredth time that night. âWell Lucifer, where should I start? Iâm strung up by my arms in what Iâm assuming is Hell, correct?â Lucifer nodded. âYour demon bitch split my lip and gave me a concussion; I havenât slept in over 36 hours; Iâm starving; oh, and tonight Iâve found out that not only is the devil my soulmate, but that my brothers arenât even really my brothers! Yep my birth mom just ditched me on a motel doorstep. John and Dean lied to me and Sam for years.â You let out a breathy laugh and let your head loll down. You were so tired, mentally and physically.
Lucifer tilted his head at you. That certainly explained a lot. Something odd was happening though, he was feeling something for you. He felt... bad? He had the desire to comfort you and to try to make things better. What the fuck, Lucifer? Sheâs a human. He internally scolded himself but his new feelings won out. He sighed, âIf I take you down you have to promise to behave.â
You looked up at him incredulously, âWhat would I do, Lucifer? Iâm half unconscious and youâre a frigginâ archangel, I think Iâm a bit outgunned here.â
Lucifer snorted, âTouchĂ©, baby Winchester.â He snapped his fingers and the chains disappeared, causing you to fall to the cold, stone ground with a yelp.Â
âOw,â you rubbed your head and then your wrists before standing up, âAnd are you going to keep calling me that? I have an actual name.âÂ
âI enjoy it, but since you arenât technically a Winchester it isnât as fun anymore. Whatâs your name again?âÂ
âY/N. And Iâm still a Winchester Lucifer, just not by blood. Speaking of blood, I canât believe Iâm about to do this, but can I ask you a favor?â
Luciferâs eyebrows shot up and he grinned, âSo eager to make a deal with the devil already Y/N?â
âNo, no deals, just consolation for kidnapping me and for Meg beating the crap out of me. Can you please heal me? Iâm assuming youâre going to want me conscious for whatever it is you have planned and with the concussion and lack of sleep that will be an issue very soon.â
Lucifer placed a finger to his chin as he contemplated your request. âI suppose you make a good point.â He removed his finger from his chin and placed two to your forehead.Â
When he touched you, you felt the familiar soulmate connection spark through you. It was followed by the cooling sensation of his grace, its flowing tendrils moving to each part of your body to heal the wounds left behind by Meg. âThere. Happy now?â
âThank you, Lucifer. While I could still go for four hours and a sandwich, I feel better.â
Lucifer rolled his eyes. He should just kill you and get this over with. If the soulmate connection was allowed to blossom and eventually be consummated, you would be a weakness. But he couldnât, and he was cursing his father for it. âCome with me.â
You raised an eyebrow but followed Lucifer as he exited the room and turned left into the corridor. As you followed, demons bowed to Lucifer as he passed but brought their heads up in time to glare at you. The devil bringing a human woman into Hell, a Winchester at that, was probably not an everyday occurrence.Â
He stopped at an ornate door isolated at the end of a corridor, Lucifer turning to you with a smirk on his face. âThis is yours. You will stay in this room when you are not with me, I certainly donât need a Winchester running loose through Hell. Everything you will need is in here.â
You looked at him dumbfounded as he pushed the door open. The inside looked like a nice one-bedroom apartment that youâd find in a city somewhere, not deep in the bowels of Hell. As you stepped inside you entered a living area with a large couch and television along with a massive bookshelf on the wall completely filled. As you trailed your fingers along the spines you noticed they were some of your favorites: a mix of classics and new fiction. You went deeper into the apartment, passing through the exquisite kitchen and into the bedroom. In there, a king size bed sat in the middle of the room clad in red.Â
âRed, Lucifer? Really? Isnât that a bit too on the nose?â
âIâm nothing if not one for the classics.â He smirked and sat down on the edge, âThere will be a demon posted outside this door at all times, the only person allowed in and out is me. If you need anything, just tell them. I have some Hell business to attend to; if I knew this place became so bureaucratic and paperwork-centric while I was away, I may have just let Crowley keep it.â
With that, Lucifer stood and exited your new, what was this place even, chambers? Upscale prison cell? You didnât know. All you knew was that you were stuck in Hell at Luciferâs beck and call, and that it most likely was not going to end well.Â
You missed Sam and Dean.

When they finally let you leave the motel room, you began to walk down the road it was on. Every thought was flying through your head at a million miles an hour, not being able to settle on a single one. Your life had pulled a full 180 in only a few hours. Should you expect anything less though? Your last name was Winchester.Â
A few minutes into your walk, you stumbled upon a park. It was beautiful, even in the dark. You walked further in and sat on a bench in front of an illuminated fountain. You needed to sit for this internal battle you knew was approaching. The rushing of the water through the fountain helped calm you. You took a deep breath and let your mind slow to the first item that needed your attention before all the others: your brothers.
Part of you wanted to be pissed. Dean lied to you for your whole life. You understood why he didnât tell you while Dad was still alive; orders were orders and nobody followed them more loyally than Dean. But after he died? You were in your 20âs when John died; there was no reason for Dean not to tell you. Itâs not like you would have left them, just like you wouldnât now. You may not be related by blood like you thought, but theyâre still your brothers and youâre still a Winchester. Although, youâll probably still give Dean shit for a while, he deserves it.
You smirked at that thought and looked up behind the fountain to see the sun begin to rise. Was it that early already? The sun began to turn the sky into shades of orange and pink; it was breathtaking. Maybe getting the opportunity to see a sunrise for once is the positive to come out of this hell.
Hell. What a poor choice of words. You leaned back on the bench and massaged your temples. This is the one thing you didnât wanna deal with. How was this even possible? An archangel with a human soulmate? It made no sense. And why you? Why were you meant to be with the devil? You tried to live a good life, be a good person, save everyone that you could. Why was God punishing you? You ran a hand through your hair as the tears youâd been trying to fight all night finally slid down your cheeks.Â
Suddenly, there was a whoosh sound, like a wing. You sat up and looked to your right to see Castiel beside you. âCas, what are you doing here?â you asked wiping the tears from your face.
âI sensed your distress. As a neutral third party I thought perhaps you could benefit from speaking to me about the matters troubling you.â
âRight now, Iâm just trying to come to terms with the whole âsoulmate to the devilâ bullshit. Why me, Cas? Iâve tried all my life to be a good person and not just the killer my dad trained me to be, so why am I destined to be with an archangel who literally does nothing but cause death and destruction?â
Cas sighed, âI do not believe this is a punishment, Y/N. As you humans say, God works in mysterious ways. I believe he intends for you to mate with Lucifer as a way to possibly change him. Make him come to terms with the fact humanity is not the burden he believes it to be. If anyone could change Lucifer into a better person, itâs you.â
You looked at Castiel in awe, âDo you really think so? Iâm not anything special. Iâm just a hunter. I drink too much, I kill something every week, and look at me; Iâm covered in scars and I wear hand-me-downs from the boys. Iâm not worthy of an archangel, even if it is a fallen one. God made a mistake.â
âPlease do not put yourself down in such a way. You underestimate yourself. When I first came to Earth, you were patient with me and my misunderstandings of human nuances. Iâve seen the way you comfort surviving victims on your hunts and how you mourn those you were too late to save. You pet every dog you see and you give to others when you have very little to begin with. You may kill, but you kill to save innocents. You are a good person, Y/N. My father chose you for a reason.â
You smiled at the angel as a tear escaped; did he really notice all of that about you? Dean gets annoyed with Cas but you appreciated his naĂŻve nature and his protective tendencies over you and your brothers. You opened your mouth in an attempt to thank him for his support, when you were overwhelmed with the scent of sulfur. You stood and looked around in front of you.
âCas...â
âYes. Demons are nearby,â he said as he stood next to you.
âDamn Winchester, it must be nice to have an angel for a lapdog. Heâs pretty cute. Can I pet him?â The female voice came from behind you and Castiel. You both turned to find a brunette woman, her eyes flashing black at you as you did.
âYou know, Meg, Iâm getting real tired of seeing your ugly mug,â you sassed at the demon.
âIâm not thrilled to be around you either baby Winchester but orders are orders. Boss wants to get to know his new lady friend in private. That means you arenât invited Clarence.âÂ
âThat is not my name, demon.â Cas growled and dropped his angel blade into his hand.Â
You sent a prayer to Cas. Cas I donât have any weapons. This is going to end badly. Theyâre going to take me to Lucifer; you need to warn my brothers. Cas looked at you like you had two heads. He didnât have to speak for you to know what he was thinking: he wasnât leaving you. You rolled your eyes and when you looked back to Meg, two more demons had appeared behind her. Marvelous.
âLook our orders are to bring you in alive. If we kill you Lucifer will be very angry. Doesnât mean we wonât hurt you in the process. Come with us now, and we wonât hurt you or Christmas-tree-topper over there.â Meg said sweetly.
You looked at Cas who just shook his head. Guess weâre fighting then. You looked back to the demons, âTell Lucifer to shove it up his ass.â
The smile wiped from Megâs face with your statement. She nodded at Cas and the two demons behind her began their attack on the angel.
âCAS!âÂ
Meg walked closer to you, âPretty boy canât help you now, Winchester.â
You squared up and smirked at the demon, âBring it on, bitch.â
Meg lunged at you and the fighting began. Luckily, she didnât have any weapons but still, hand-to-hand combat with a demon was no walk in the park. You each got a few hits in on the other, Megâs nose bleeding and your lip split. You glanced over at Cas who was holding his own with the two demons, finally shoving his angel blade into the chest of one of them.Â
Meg used your distraction to get in a cheap shot to your stomach. The wind rushed from your lungs and you dropped to your knees unable to breathe.Â
âY/N!â Castiel stabbed the last demon and tried to make his way to you, but Meg threw him away with a flick of her wrist.
âSorry Clarence, but the boss needs his soulmate.â With that, she punched you in the face one last time, sending you reeling. The last thing you heard was Cas call your name and felt Meg pull you into her arms before you gave into the darkness.

âWell, I guess it starts right after Sam turned one. I was five and Dad was still new to hunting, but was slowly making a name for himself in the community.
âWe had just settled into a new motel room for that weekâs hunt. Around Chattanooga, I think? Our first day there, Dad was sitting at the table in the room researching while Sam slept and I watched some kids show on TV. A few hours later, a scream came from the room next to ours. Dad sprang into action and ran to the room next door where he found the monster he had been after attacking a young couple; ended up being Dadâs first rougarou case. The thing had already torn the husband to shreds and was going after the girl, couldnât have been more than 20, who had a little girl in her arms. Dad killed the thing but the girl was pretty shaken up, I guess.
âHe came back a couple hours later and told me that the girl and her mom were fine, but said nothing else on the matter. A few hours later we all went to bed but were woken up early in the morning by crying. We originally thought it was Sammy but he was still fast asleep. Dad opened the door to the motel room and found the little girl from before in a car seat on the doorstep.Â
âDad rubbed a hand down his face and cursed. I didnât understand why at the time but Dad knew that woman had dumped this kid in his lap because he had helped her.Â
âAttached to her was a note telling him her name and birthday, which was only a few days off from Samâs, and that she was sorry but she just couldnât do it without her husband. So, Dad made a choice. He decided to keep the baby and instead of dealing with the whole âadopted but not reallyâ thing, went with the story that she was Samâs twin. Made me promise to go along with it and keep the truth a secret.Â
âSo, I did. I did what Dad ordered me to do. Iâm sorry guys, I know I shouldâve told you the truth but just because you arenât blood Y/N doesnât mean you arenât our sister. And you are still Sammyâs twin. Hell, I think there are some real twins that donât look more alike or are more similar. You guys have a bond no one can touch and this wonât change that. Be pissed at me all you want Y/N but you are Samâs twin, my little sister, and a Winchester. Nothing will ever change that and I will always do whatever it takes to keep you safe.â
The tears were streaming down your face in full force now, âSo, youâre telling me, Iâm just some kid whose mom didnât want her and was dropped off on the nearest motel doorstep? I donât understand. Why? Why did Dad keep me? He already had you and Sam to take care of, and Dean you basically did that anyways. Why?â
Dean sighed and ran a hand down his face, âI asked him that same question when I was about 18. I thought he should tell you the truth and I told him so but he stood his ground. You and Sam were both sitting on the hood of the Impala outside of the room reading, like nerds, and he just looked at you. Iâll never forget what he said to me that day...â
âDad, you need to tell Y/N the truth. Sheâs going to find out one day and if she doesnât hear it from you itâs going to devastate her. I donât understand. Why keep another kid? And why lie about her being Samâs twin?â
John looked out the motel window at his two youngest children and sighed, âDean, I know you lost your mom when you were young, but at least you know she loved you. Y/N, her mom literally left her on a strangerâs doorstep and didnât care whether I kept her or not. She didnât care what happened to her. I had a choice to make that day: keep her and make her a Winchester, or take her to the police station and watch her get put into the system. She needed a family and honestly? I think we needed her too. And as for her being Samâs twin, her birthday is only three days off. Hell, they look so much alike itâs scary that they actually arenât. I know taking her in put a lot on your shoulders Dean, and for that Iâm sorry. We canât tell her the truth. Not yet. If she takes off when she finds out she needs to be trained fully. She may not be a Winchester by blood, but sheâs still a Winchester and monsters would be all over her. I canât let that happen. Not to my daughter.â
âDad was going to tell you soon after you turned 18 but you and Sammy had hightailed it for Stanford. He didnât tell you to keep you safe. He loved you Y/N. Hell, sometimes I think he liked you more than he liked me and Sammy.â Dean said with a chuckle.
You didnât say anything. You just sat back down at the table and rubbed a hand over your face. This was too much. You squeezed the bridge of your nose. If Lucifer wasnât your stupid soulmate, you wouldnât have had to figure out that Dean and Sam arenât actually your stupid brothers, and your whole stupid life wouldnât currently be in shambles.Â
âY/N, are you alright?â Castiel looked at you with a concerned look on his face.
âUm, no, not really. I think Iâm gonna take a walk, clear my head.â You got up and pulled on your flannel and boots, heading for the door but Sam blocked your way. âMove Sam.â
âY/N talk to me. I know youâre upset but you really shouldnât go out there alone right now.â
âSam, I donât want to talk. Right now, I donât even know what I would say. I- I need to wrap my head around all of this and try to make sense of everything. I wonât be gone long. Iâll be fine.âÂ
Iâll be fine. Famous last words, right?

Laters Baby Masterlist
You slowly began to regain consciousness and noticed you were on yours and Samâs bed in the motel room. Why were you unconscious? You hadnât gotten hurt on the hunt. There werenât even vamps there, it was... Fuck. You remembered now. You closed your eyes again and tried to will yourself back into darkness because you would rather do just about anything but deal with this right now.
âI know youâre awake, Y/N. Your brothers are not here. They went outside after I assured them you were alright,â you felt Castiel sit down on your left side.
You let out a long sigh and opened your eyes, âSo it wasnât a dream? My life is in complete shambles? Super.â
âI am sorry Y/N. This must be very difficult for you. In the last few hours you have learned information that will forever change your life. It is not surprising you became overwhelmed and subsequently unconscious.â
âThanks Cas. So, letâs take this one problem at a time. Are we absolutely sure Lucifer was right and Iâm his soulmate?â You asked while sitting up against the headboard.
âI believe so. However, there is only one way to be completely sure. I will need to touch your soul. If Luciferâs soul is tied to yours by a soulmate connection, I will be able to feel it. Unfortunately, it will be extremely painful.âÂ
âOf course. Well, I want to make sure before we go any further into this mess so letâs do it.â
âI would advise we bring your brothers back for this. You may want them here, but also if I did this without their knowledge they would be extremely upset.â Cas looked at you sympathetically. You rolled your eyes but waved your hand towards the door, signaling him to retrieve your brothers. Brothers. Could you even call them that anymore?
Cas returned a few seconds later with Sam and Dean. âAlright, what is it that youâre doing Cas?â asked Dean.
âI will touch her soul to see if I can feel a connection to Luciferâs. If I can, they are truly soulmates. If not, Lucifer lied and is somehow trying to manipulate her. I will not lie; this will be unpleasant. It will be extremely painful for her and it will not be pleasant for you to witness either.âÂ
âNo. No way. There has to be a way for us to find this out without hurting her,â Sam said. It didnât matter if you werenât family by blood, you would always be his twin and he would always protect you.
âThere isnât, Sam. If there was, donât you think Cas wouldâve said something? Itâs okay. We need to know. Do it, Cas.â You laid back down on the bed and tried to even out your breathing. While you knew this needed to be done, it didnât mean you werenât scared of the pain you knew was coming.
Cas rolled up his right sleeve and sat on your right side, âAre you ready?â
âNo, but do it anyway.â
He sighed, âIf there is some place you find soothing, I suggest you go there.â Taking off his belt, he placed the folded piece of leather in your mouth. Your eyes went even wider at this implication.
Before you could overthink it, Cas put his hand in the center of your chest and began to reach up under your ribcage, a bright light emitting from the spot. Your screams echoed throughout the room and made your brothers cringe. It was pain unlike anything you had ever felt before, like Cas was attempting to rip your spinal cord out with a red-hot poker. As he pushed deeper, your screams intensified, getting impossibly louder around the belt. You thought for a minute you were going to bite completely through the thick, black leather.Â
He finally pulled his arm out of your chest and stood. You were panting on the bed, tears streaming down your face. Sam rushed to your side and pulled you into his arms, taking the belt out of your mouth.Â
âDid it work?â you rasped out, your erratic breathing and previous screams making it difficult to speak.Â
Cas wore a sad expression, and you just knew. âYes, it worked. Iâm sorry, Y/N. Lucifer is indeed your soulmate.â
You nodded and snuggled deeper into Samâs arms, closing your eyes as you tried unsuccessfully to keep the tears at bay as more slipped down your cheeks. He didnât know what to say to you so he just held you tighter.
Dean ran a hand down his face, frustrated, âY/N weâll figure this out. Soulmate or not, Lucifer wonât lay a hand on you. Ever. You know weâd never let anything bad happen to you.â
You let out a long sigh and pulled yourself from Samâs arms, shakily standing up and walking over to Dean, âAre you sure about that big brother? If I can even call you that anymore. How can I trust you? Youâve lied to me for, well forever. If I canât count on you to be honest with me, how can I trust you to keep me safe? I need you to explain everything to me right now. I want the whole truth, Dean. No more lies.â
Dean nodded and sat down at the table, contemplating how to explain this to his siblings. This was turning into one long, weird night.
