Here’s a quick edit for how they could have avoided making Deanna the nagging mother telling Riker to come home to his kid in Picard S3E3:

Picard is visiting the Troi-Riker’s. Riker tells him the story while holding Thad in his arms. It’s all really heartfelt, same dialogue. Then pan over to Deanna with a bottle of whisky “yeah I’m sure that 17 seconds was really painful while I was in labour.” She takes back a shot without wincing. “Finally I can drink again”

Sirtis is a pro at humour, she still gets the beat about wanting whisky and we get shown Riker as a father rather than told about it. The room could even still be dark and moody like they love by having Thad taking a nap in a dark room.

Ok so I have a lots of stuff to tell you about his panel & show y'all his autograph but I'm blurry eyed & got no sleep last night thanks to some kids in the room above us stomping on the floor all night.
