This is gonna sound harsh, but I gotta say after seeing what the Corona Guards were like throughout the entire series of Tangled, it's no surprise how Mother Gothel was able to sneak into the castle and kidnap Rapunzel when she was a baby.

The guards weren't always on their A-Game and it's shocking just how much stuff got by them. It's just as Lance said in one of the last episodes, "Have any of these guys ever successfully guarded anything?" I could make a list, but I don't want to add further insult to injury. I will say they are in better hands now that Eugene is charge. (Sorry Cap)

So Rapunzel’s plan was essentially derailed by Gothel spotting a palace horse, and going back to the tower and seeing Rapunzel missing. Leading to her searching her out and spotting her at the Snuggly Duckling, and using the Stabbington Brothers to get rid of Eugene- shortening her three days. 

So how do you think the events of the movie would have gone if Gothel hadn’t come in contact with the horse? If she had been away for three days like originally planned? Letting Rapunzel and Eugene have an extra day together, Rapunzel having an extra day away from her tower, and Gothel likely being unaware of the whole ordeal. 

There are actually a lot of directions it could have gone without Gothel's interference, all depending upon several factors. Would Rapunzel decide to return to the tower, or would she decide to run away for good? Would she share the strange feeling she had seeing the mural with Eugene, thus cluing him into her being the Lost Princess? Would she decide to run away with Eugene, but return to the tower to pack a few things, thus giving her the opportunity to make the Lost Princess realization for herself?

Would the Stabbingtons have caught up to them and attacked, even without the knowledge of Rapunzel and her hair? What would they have done with Rapunzel in this scenario? Would the Pub Thugs have found out about her being in danger and raced to the rescue?

Would Gothel have decided to return early for some other arbitrary reason (ie, she really didn't want to be away from Rapunzel for that long and made up some excuse)? Would she have found out about Eugene in the same way, or in some other? In the cruise ship musical, she encounters the Captain and some of the guards in the woods, and they ask her if she's seen Flynn Rider, and warn her to be careful, because he has a way with young ladies, and that's what makes her go back to the tower, rather than finding Maximus out there alone. This could easily happen instead, in the movie.

I've been meaning to do a redraw of old art for a while now to 'prove' to myself I haven't regressed in my art.... I think it is now officially safe to say not only have I not regressed, there is definitely improvement :D

Was just rereading parts of Throne of Glass book 1 and it's amazing how...young Dorian, Celaena, and Chaol all seem compared to at the end of the series. The character arcs of those three characters were amazing, makes me wonder how SJM flopped so badly with ACOTAR?
