Cherix and TechNicole, finally together. I still haven’t settled on the exact nature of their relationship, although I’m getting more of a cousins or BFF vibe than sisters or girlfriends. Maybe they are like me and my cousin— BFFs growing up, as adults have a loving, “would help one another bury a body & take the secret to our grave”, “we’re family so we have to put up up with the other’s crap”, mutually alternating feelings of pity and jealousy, vaguely antagonistic rival relationship. The Licca-chan television and the rest of my order got lost in Japan for over a year. (It’s actually a really funny story. But also a long story, and I’m on the phone.)

Just a bit of a rant but yashiki overly-sugared coffee actually makes me feel nostalgic:

Back when i was little my dad always stayed up late to organize and remix some musics for each shows he comissioned. I liked watching him worked so sometimes i sat next to him and copied each and every moves he made, including drinking coffee on work. So like a naive idiot, i tried that hot black coffee that sitting next to the organ, and bc the coffee was hot and bitter and strong i spilled the hot bitter coffee all over myself. And yes i hurt myself in the process. Dad didnt get mad eventhough some of the music sheet was stained by the coffee. So he comforted me and gave me a shot of espresso with a amount of sugar that fit toddle me taste for a try. (Which btw the right amount of sugar to mask away the bitterness). That was a detrimental mistake dad made since who’s in the right thought to give a sugary nicotine black water to a kid in the middle of the night? He wasnt the perfect parent but i know he was trying to be at that time.

Anyway back to the present, i liked my coffee flatwhite and cappuchino with sugar ofc

I sewed: Yellow and blue sundress, yellow lace trimmed long cardigan, Daisy print knit tee, blue and pink floral cardigan, and a blue lace trimmed dress.

This year I improved on making separate pieces that coordinate for different looks. And I’ve improved on handling knits and pattern drafting.

Base layer complete! The underpinnings will mostly be covered up in the final sets, so I wanted to share the bases by themselves first! There’s actually two more versions with bare legs and silk stockings but I wear black tights most often, so I won’t share the others until I draw out the full wardrobe.

Just this layer was a ton of work, since it’s almost fully rendered, and there’s multiple outfits happening, but it was a really interesting exercise in figuring out where I could cut corners. If I were to do this again, I would be smarter about the layering, and draw the base without shoes so that I can have the shoes be their own layers that can be toggled on and off. I may still try to do this, but as it stands the shapes of the shoes are just different enough that it’s inconvenient. For now, I’m settling for suffering and making a bajillion permutations 😅
