Transiting Venus enters Virgo

Monday, August 5 - Thursday, August 29, 2024

Full disclosure: this may not be a fun transit. There are plenty of challenges. Also, Venus is said to be in her “fall” in Virgo, occupying the sign opposite where she is exalted (Pisces). Astrologers March and McEvers likened this to “you’re staying in a strange house, and you don’t know the rules.”

My belief is that the planets all can stand to learn something when they’re in signs they don’t like - and in Virgo, Venus is working on her skills. Throughout her areas:

Art - working on technique is favored. That would be scales for a musician, for example. We could also work on developing healthy responses to criticism.

Beauty - looking like you’re in good health is usually sufficient - think Ingrid Bergman. Not a lot of makeup or “styling.” We could explore more of a thrifty approach to our clothes (like learning to sew a button back on, for example).

Love - keep aiming for being truly helpful. Sometimes we think we’re helping by pointing out everything wrong with someone, or by nagging. We evaluate relationships based on how willing we are to work on them.

Money - penny wise and pound foolish. The only placement that will blow its entire paycheck on vitamins.

If we’ve made any questionable choices over the past weeks (raises hand), we may just be in for a comeuppance while Venus is in Virgo. Where we’re lacking, will be made clear. Are we going to be humble about it and work harder, or are we going to skulk off in bitterness?

Monday, August 5 - Venus/Virgo inconjunct Pluto Rx/Aquarius, 0°33’. Adjustments. Cold indifference (regardless of its source, ourselves or others) makes us realize we need to recalibrate.

Wednesday, August 7 - Venus/Virgo conjunct Mercury Rx/Virgo, 3°43’. We may actually feel this one late on August 5, when the Virgo Moon will conjunct both Venus and Mercury. It’s charming and helpful and humble, but it’s also about a lightweight as astrology gets.

This is the biggest event of Venus/Virgo - having the honor (?) to help trigger the first (of three) of the Jupiter-Saturn squares. Mars will have set this off a few days earlier, making us feel like we want to get going on something right now but feeling held back and hampered - and we now find ourselves in a new situation (mutable signs) - remembering the “assist” from Pluto, which happens to be on the same degree as the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of December 20, 2020. Something is going to take more hard work than we anticipated, and it’s going to take longer. It’s important to blend optimism with being realistic - don’t feel you have to take on all the job yourself, but accept help - and don’t let “perfect” be the enemy of “good.” Build up relationships by looking for common ground.

Thunderstorms, I’m getting the energy of you all are purging some deep stuff, you’re going through your thunderstorms, I’m seeing flying branches 😭I know healing is can be very chaotic and intense but after every thunderstorm, there’s peace, calm and renewal. I do feel like a lot of you started your healing process the end of last year and is still currently purging stuff but feel like you’re almost done with a cycle because I started to smell the dew scent after a bad storm, I don’t know how describe it lol but I also saw the forming of a rainbow, like not quite a full one but the beginning of one. 3 different energies here. First group is starting to get the recognition they deserve from career, 2nd group is starting to feel confident in themselves again after being sad for so long and 3rd group is discovering new talents they didn’t know they had. So choose what resonates here

First group- im not getting much but I am hearing the words “validation” and “about time” I also started hearing lizzo song “about damn time”😅 for many of you , i feel like you’re an artist and have been working on projects for a while without getting any fruition for it but people are starting to notice! Last year was a “shit year” I’m hearing but I’m feeling hopeful. I just had an image of Faeries dancing haha they’re happy for you to!

3rd group- okay I feel like you discovered some talents during lockdown era in 2020-2021 but just now really taking them seriously and wanting to make a business or just put your work out there! I’m hearing “go for it”, you discovered these gifts and talents for a reason and it’s meant for you show them to the world! I’m hearing “start researching, and planning”

I know this is a forest messages but I’m picking up more of a hiking trail energy. Like I’m getting an image of someone walking somewhere but still surrounded by forest and tree life.

This group is either in the process or has found their life calling. I feel like some of you are exploring if this is what you want to do with your life. What instantly tells you if a person is good?: I usually have quite a good gut feeling/instinct when it comes to people, so I'm gonna say the vibe

Do you have a recurring dream?: Not anymore, but growing up I frequently dreamt about my teeth falling out - either that I could pull them out one by one or they fell out all at once & ended up choking on them... can someone tell me if this is normal? Should I be concerned for my younger self?

What is the most interesting class you have taken?: I'm gonna have to say when I was studying History A (autumn 2020), I remember having such a strong feeling of "I'm home, this is where I'm supposed to be" & I try to remind myself of that whenever I have a life crisis & feel like giving up on history for a "safer" field

Day of Saurn energy

Happy Saturday, day of Saturn energy.

Saturn is known as the great malefic, planet of hard work, responsibility, limitations, boundaries, and fear. But as the Roman God of agriculture, he is also the god of abundance and harvest. Work hard, but reap the results of the hard work. Take responsibility and wrestle with daily limitations and your ability to overcome limitations becomes well-honed. Saturn entered Aquarius March 21 2020. Went retrograde back into Capricorn in July and once more entered Aquarius in December 2020. On March 7th, 2023, Saturn will leave Aquarius and will enter the deep waters of Pisces. Moving away from dealing with those who have sun/moon/ascendant in fixed sings of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, Saturn will move to test those of the mutable modality which include Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.

Energy Update: March 2022 and the Venus besiegment

I want to write a couple more words on this difficult journey that Venus has been traveling on since the beginning of her retrograde cycle in November of 2021. This message is for all of us but most specifically for those of us who are heavily influenced by Venus in our charts - all of us with the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or Venus in the Venus signs (Taurus and Libra), who strongly identify with the Divine Feminine or as female, as well as anybody with a strong Venus aspect (especially to the Sun, Moon or Ascendant) in their natal chart. This is the hardest path that Venus has had to navigate in quite some time. She went into her shadow in November, retrograded for her requisite 40 days and 40 nights, immediately met up in conjunction with Mars in Capricorn while in her post-retrograde phase (how so very NOT romantic), is going to conjunct Pluto AGAIN, has to conjunct Mars in Capricorn a second time on the point of the Great Conjunction from the Winter Solstice in 2020, and then immediately enters a besiegement between Mars and Saturn in Aquarius (a sign that she is already quite unhappy in). Yeah sure, Minx, I get it - that's a lot - but what does it MEAN? It means that Venus has been poorly aspected since the end of November. Love has been, still is, and will continue to be, hard to find. That this feels disheartening is almost by design - Venus, through her rulership of Libra especially, is one of our major connection points to the universal heart. Whether we are willing to admit to it yet or not - everybody deserves more unconditional love, not less. When Venus is out of commission for so long, we start to lose that thread. Our empathy starts to atrophy. We - the collective we - the unconscious we - becomes more bitter and more judgmental. Some of this is seasonal - Venus isn't at home in either Capricorn or Aquarius and this accounts for some of the lack of empathy/love energy that we experienced during this season every year, I believe. (Ironic that Valentine's Day is celebrated when Venus energy is very low - proof that it's a commercial holiday and not truly seeped in love energy) But this year, due to her retrograde cycle, Venus has been sitting in the sign of Capricorn since November. That's a long time for our love to be so craggy and unyielding. Now she finally is set to enter Aquarius next week which isn't much better - in Aquarius, Venus love can get more universal, yes, but it is almost hopelessly depersonalized. Additionally, as she finally pulls away from Mars after their conjunction at 00 Capricorn (as mentioned above, the point of the Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn on the Winter Solstice in 2020 - I'll get into that in my March report), she is going to immediately enter a strong beseigment. This means that she is stuck in close proximity between two of our great "malefics" (Mars and Saturn in Aquarius). Though in modern times, we don't use the terms benefic or malefic as often, it is important to understand the historical significance of these terms. This is, in a way, just another stop between a rock and a hard place - much like that Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn AND our Saturn-Uranus squares from last year - Mars heats things up and Saturn slows things down. What happens when you get stuck between Action (Mars) and Inaction (Saturn): in a word, pressure. Like a drip, drip, drip that never stops...(woah) Venus in Aquarius DEMANDS freedom, almost at any cost - she is the relationship anarchist of the Venus signs. Mars and Saturn are going to be holding her in place. Que the flashing red lights: CAUTION. When love feels all dried up and Venus in Aquarius is backed into a corner, this is the recipe for a host of symptoms of the Toxic Feminine rising to the surface. I'm not here to blame her or to shame her. In a world that has crushed the feminine for so long, it is no wonder that She sometimes tries to manipulate and control with her emotions - to work below the surface in passive-aggressive ways. There was a time when love

binding was a necessity because if your man left you, you were destitute and your children starved. The blood on her fangs and the hair in her claws is well deserved - she has fought tooth and nail for our rights and for our lives. All hail the Dark Lady. But there's a deeper message here. Fight when you must but love where you can. Where manipulation thrives, love withers on the vine. You cannot hold space for both love and hate in your heart - to truly hold one, you have to release the other. As Venus passes Mars, our planet of war and strife ask yourself this: what are you fighting for? Have you been fighting for "love" for so long that there is nothing left but burned ground and fallow dirt? Maybe, just maybe, we need to pivot our aching hearts. As Venus approaches her annual conjunction with Saturn, our planet of fate and constriction: ask yourself this: Where have I been holding on so tight that I have stifled love? What can I free within myself and within my Others? Who have I wronged by my desire to control rather than release? (Hint: it's likely yourself) The big flex all throughout the month of March is going to be to give up. Not in some fatalistic sense but in a great rush of cosmic release. Finally!! This seems to have been a particularly draining Venus retrograde, featuring much general malaise and pessimism. Maybe now we can start to snap out of it?

Art - when Venus was retrograde in Gemini, in 2020, I had all kinds of ideas for future yarn projects…none of which actually ever came to fruition. This time, the current projects were delayed, mainly due to various health issues (mostly, me not being able to see what TF I’m doing). I am hoping to be able to finish things up now, or at least feel like I can finish in the near future. I’m sure other creative types have similar stories to tell - delays, roadblocks, lack of funds or support or time.

Beauty - it has been similarly bleak here, hasn’t it? I don’t myself keep up on whatever fashion trends are, well, trending. But I do live in a beautiful area of the world (Front Range of Colorado, USA), and it’s been a good few weeks for some breathtaking wintry beauty to gawk at.

Love - Venus retrograde is traditionally a time for old lovers to resurface. In Capricorn, they’d be ancient lovers, right?! I didn’t experience any of that (THANK GOODNESS), but I admit to feeling lonely at times - and at least once, “If I had a partner, he could take care of all these logistics, giving me the time and space to freak out!” Regreting the partnership status regardless, I guess?

Money - my politics are pretty far left, and I have been happy to see all the workers joining together to form unions - and going on strike when underpaid or otherwise being treated poorly. I’m wondering if it’s because Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, is currently transiting Aquarius, sign of the collective?

Whatever it is that has happened to us, we can now try to sum up what we’ve learned and move on. Venus is going to remain in Capricorn until the beginning of March, so there is plenty of time to assess what happened, and make plans.

Between now and then, though, we'll be picking up the pieces or threads of where we left off. Venus will make a couple of conjunctions (to Vesta on Feb. 1, and to Mars on Feb. 16) - but those both are only the second of three, between Venus and each planet. They may seem like jumping the gun a bit, or some kind of false start.

It's the third of three conjunctions that will make life a little more "interesting" at the end of February: there will be a tight stellium between Venus, Mars, Vesta, and Pluto - with transiting Moon joining in the fun, on February 25/26/27 - and this will continue past the March 2 "Venus exits post-retrograde shadow" date, with the Venus-Mars conjunction after both have entered Aquarius. For reference I am a Gemini Sun, Capricorn Moon, Scorpio rising x

Pisces Moon 🌙 (Also 12H Chiron) - This placement I had in 2020. During March, I went through my first Spiritual awakening. I had my first EVER relationship heartbreak, the breakup was horrible LMFAO I was crying EVERYDAY, EVERY SECOND ☠️ Though I feel like this placement really helped me through a religious breakthrough moment cause like I started questioning religion (Christianity specifically) HEAVILY. Like I stopped praying regularly, and everything. I really started believing more in myself than a higher being, SELF POWER WAS LIKE A PROMINENT THING DURING THIS TIME FOR ME!

12H Venus - Had this placement in 2021. Started questioning romance A LOT. Started reevaluating my love life, left a lot of people behind in my past even if they didn’t do anything to me. In general, started to release more things even if it had a positive effect on me. This placement was beneficial to me because it was like a barrier for me while I was at my lowest. I didn’t let anyone in my social circle and let whoever wanted to be out, out. I stopped caring about keeping up with friends. I wanted love but I didn’t desire it to the point where I put it before myself.

6H Pluto - Had this placement in 2021 as well. Started to practice self care more. Changed how I treated myself, started treating myself more positively and really working on being more productive for MYSELF.
