i feel like this might count for canon treats, but. i highly suggest anyone feeling down on their luck (or, maybe just in a particularly bad spot) to try and make a dish that you may have enjoyed in canon.

i was waiting to do this next week but ended up rattling myself the evening before and said "hell no! im getting up and going to the market. i have free will." and within the first bite of said dish i prepared all on my own, it reminded me that it's what life is all about. it felt like eating sunshine, on top of the pleasure that came from cooking it myself. some days you're more scared than others. sometimes you wonder how your heart can be so full for people you love and miss so much. other days it hurts really, really bad and you feel like you can't breathe. but there will always be a comforting warm dish that has all the right flavors made just for you, by you, or someone you love. you just have to find it! and if you don't know what to make, make furofuki daikon, and have a little taste of sunshine for yourself. sometimes all it takes is a meal to remind you that you're right where you need to be and exactly who you're supposed to be.

My actual favorite part of wisdom saga is telemachus trying to lean against Athena (he thought about that for .03 seconds and then was like nah !!! :D she's my friend not the goddess of war!!! Good to see that the audacity is running strong in odysseus's family) and then just passed threw her and fell on the floor. And then Athena did not move at all!!! And just stood there looking at him.

Canon treats: god I love a bagel. A real New York City bagel with veggie cream cheese. Fun fact, superpowers require a LOT of caloric intake so that was the only thing that would really fill me up in the morning. I still crave them all the time.

I just think it's really neat how much fans have latched onto the fact that Stephanie Brown was Robin.

Like, both in and out of universe Stephanie was never meant to be taken seriously as Robin. The writers only made her Robin so that her death in War Games would be shocking and Bruce only made her Robin because he thought it would make Tim jealous enough to come back. She only had the mantle for 71 days before being fired (for doing something that literally every other Robin has also done and not been fired over), and she was only active during 50 of them. There are only six issues where Steph is Robin in the canon timeline.

Her final words before her death are asking Batman (Batman, because even on her death bed he doesn't trust her enough to take off his mask) if any of it was real. Was she really Robin? And Batman assures her that of course she was, that she was part of the legend and no one can take it away from her. Except it's a lie, because despite his reassurances, Batman never puts up a memorial or does anything to preserve her memory. He never really thinks of her as Robin, and even her friends will always think of her as Spoiler before ever remembering Robin.

Meanwhile DC spent years ignoring her time as Robin, to the point where it was completely erased from existence for awhile. It's technically back now, because timelines are weird, but unlike the others it's never been altered. She's never been given a second chance at it, no one's ever gone back and added more issues or details about those 71 days, or even seems to want to acknowledge them most of the time.

But fans have clung on to it anyway. Sure, there are lots of people who make Robin posts that are just about the boys, but there are just as many people who are ready to fight anyone who doesn't include her. Maybe it was only for a little while, but she was Robin, and we're sure as hell not going to forget it. If DC isn't going to bother to remember, than we will.

Stephanie Brown was Robin. She was part of the legend. It was real. No matter what, no one can take that away from her.

no but the thing is. they KISSED. on screen. it was a real scene, not deleted, not removed from a script, it HAPPENED in front of the world's eyes. and AND the actors are normal about it and the whole cast and crew is normal about it and it's not vague and it's IMPORTANT. no matter the rest of it and what came after it, it happened!!
