I left our bedroom door open last night, so when I opened my eyes, guess who was staring me in the face? You got it, Charlie. I thought he had been sitting there patiently waiting for me to wake up, but my wife told me that he had bumped the bed to wake me.

Did you know that dogs and wolves are the same species? I didn't until a few days ago. I should have but I assumed that they were closely related specie that sometimes cross breed. But nope, they're the same. Dogs though are different subspecies Domestic dogs are "Canis lupus familiars." While there are numerous subspecies of the grey wolf, one is the Artic Wolf (Canis lupus arctos). So … when I call Ben a Dire Wolf, I'm not that far off. :) Or am I? Dire Wolf (Aenocyon dirus).

💛: What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why? Pokemon I'm going to avoid some incredibly obvious ones based on my general hatred of certain characters, and also avoid M/M ships as someone with literally no stake in them.

Geeta/Rika and Geeta/Larry both are like the top of my "do not see it" list. I just don't think Geeta has the slightest interest in romance. I can give a little more leeway to Rika given the DLC, but Geeta/Larry always felt way out of left field to me, and what I've been forced to see via algorithm of their pairing is extremely not to my taste. I know these are popular, so this is my official answer that definitely fits criteria. But there is another I assume is popular, given how often I see it, that I take personal beef with.

Cynthia/Diantha. You took the only two adult female champions of the era and went "They're a ship now" despite literally zero interaction in canon. I'm sorry, that is just generic Touhou shipping rules. Even if I grant expansion into other material, I can't recall Masters ever letting them interact, and the anime's small focus on the two of them during the Masters 8 tournament had a few people posting about how their ship was so real with these tidbits and it's like...girl, there's nothing there. Like, quite literally, there's nothing there. Their interactions had nothing to do with one another at all. They talked, but like...at each other, not to each other. It drives me crazy.

Sorry I just wrote something for the unpopular ships and can I throw in Jasmine/Volkner? Yes this is because Volkner sucks and I hate him, but like come on. Jasmine would never. And this is her most popular pairing per AO3 tags! I'm fixing this myself if I have to.

Fire Emblem Edeleth sucks. I'm sorry, I know everyone's gonna ship what they want, let people have their fun, but in the back of my mind at least (which is where these answers come from), this ship is the worst. Edelgard is such a strong character with so much going for her, and Byleth's presence results in her being so often written as just...so blandly obsessed. Like sure, Black Eagles route, Edelgard initiated her war then made zero progress for five goddamned years because she was just too sad about Byleth ;_; Like come on, where'd her conviction go? You're seriously going to tell me that Emperor Goddamned Edelgard couldn't function toward her life's work because Byleth disappeared for a bit? The same Emperor Edelgard who, in other routes, tries to take a sword to your neck herself to carry out her ambitions? Byleth is a black hole of a character; a boring self-insert MU who siphons out the best of...frankly all three lords with their presence. But no one seems to get it as bad as Edelgard, and I have deep beef with this ship over it.

💕: What is an unpopular ship that you like? Pokemon I mean.......no, Caitlin/Cynthia's too easy. I can't be that boring on these, I'll find another. Though I'm going to try to find one that feels comparatively rare, since like...Erika/Jasmine has very little traction on AO3, but it...hang on I need to check something. Oh my god, Jasmine's top ship is with Volkner? Gross. Hang on a second.

Okay, Erika/Jasmine counts, I'm adding it in. Erika's top ship is with Sabrina, and Jasmine's is Volkner, and I'm just...again, Touhou rules, those pairs never interact they're just in proximate space. Erika/Jasmine has interaction and it's cute! Erika's very teasing but Jasmine clearly keeps coming out specifically to spend time with her; the flustered response she gives isn't distress but the kind of loss for words flailing I have when my wife is running verbal laps around me. And Jasmine's taking the magnet train to another region to visit, this is serious business crushing, okay? Jasmine's only even in Sunyshore because of the sea. I don't think she even knows who Volkner is. "But in the anime-" the anime isn't real.

Fire Emblem Celica/Faye. I swear it's a real ship, I've seen at least one other person on this webbed site make reference to it. I swear it's real.

I really think Faye should've had dialogue in Celica's route. I know I've made posts about this before, but follow this one. Faye's whole thing is a distaste for change. She wants everyone to come back to Ram Village and just live how they used to, ideally with Alm, but it's the normalcy she craves. It's why, despite Celica being a romantic rival, she's overjoyed to see her when she visits, and asks to go with. Celica's part of her childhood friend group, she likes her plenty. But unlike Alm who has the emotional intelligence of a turnip, Celica's group is pretty interconnected. I think they'd all take well to Faye, and Celica in particular is someone she'd latch on to as familiar enough to develop feelings for.

I can't say Celica would necessarily reciprocate, given the story's fixation on Alm/Celica endgame. If I were going to attempt crafting a narrative, though, Faye's deeply protective and would be in a fairly unique position to sympathize with her change of role and feeling like no one would understand. Faye's had her entire life turned inside-out over this, she'd get it. And they can both get over Alm together! Happy ending! I'm not an Alm fan, is that coming through okay?

I think most people are misunderstanding why Ayra is here. Because while yes she (through no fault of her own) did not raise her kids she did take care of Shannan and I assume that's why she was submitted. Cause she did do a pretty good job there iirc.

Also if feh counts... I think Scáthach's forging bonds should count towards her being a good mother.

Ayra's mainly here because of Shannan. She traveled all across Jugdral and took a huge risk in joining Sigurd's army (remember, Grannvale was at war with her country) just to ensure her nephew's wellbeing and safety.

And given Shannan becomes a great young man and parental figure in his own right in Gen 2, I'd say she succeeded!

I honestly never understood why Reinhardt became so popular and/or pushed in feh.

He doesn't have a particularly standout design barring his color scheme in my opinion (granted my preferences towards the designs of male characters almost always skew towards cute so I might be biased) and there's a lot of more interesting characters writing wise.

Was it memes??? I haven't got a single clue.

Seriously I have called this man a "generic vampire looking ass" Because that's what his design makes me think of.

Oh, that's easy. It's combat performance. Early in the game's lifetime, he had a Brave tome on a horse. Huge range, ranged attacking, higher attack than Olwen. When skill inheritance and the...the skill sticker thing...were added, he got access to Deathblow and Quickened Pulse with Moonbow, which basically killed everything it touched. People loved the crazy power he held, and he became a memetic favorite. That's why the whole "Magic is Everything" quote from his crit lines is so frequently cited. Because that's just what he did. It's a dumb reason, but I imagine part of it was literally no one knew who this dude was.
