went ahead and used this picrew to create my new fo4 oc's!!

I've decided to name this one Sullivan, he's my pre-war ghoul OC that used to work for the DIA and now the Railroad (this is him pre-ghoulification in his late 20's)

and this is Marie, my scientist/scavenger OC, scrounging ruins for artifacts and data on the old world (more than likely will end up joining The Institute)

"Good" Acting

i have a theory that a lot of people say acting is "good" when they're emotionally moved by it, and a lot of cishet white people have a lifelong habit of not listening or empathising when minoritised people speak, so minority actors get called "bad" even when they display some pretty fucking amazing technical skill

#also a lot of female actors don't get recognised despite being fucking GOOD #that's not to say minority actors can't always be bad #of course we can #I'm just saying #sometimes #for SOME shows in particular #ahem ahem #some actors might get very heavily criticised for reasons that have very little to do with their actual technical skill #and more to do with the politics of those criticising them #also I'm not talking about me here #before anyone says that #I'm talking about some actors I know who have recently been criticised in my opinion quite unfairly #despite doing something very difficult #like oooohhh i dunno #playing two roles in the same show?#and doing it very well #displaying some amazing technical mastery of body and voice technique #but hey what do I know #oh wait I went to drama school and I'm a professional actor lol I DO know #I'm just a woman so I have to couch my expertise in cutesy self-deprecation lest people think I'm a bitch

Ride Kamens is still doing prerelease marketing and isn't out yet; it's set for "early summer 2024", so a bit yet to go! similar to Twst, it's a mobile game about anime boys loosely based on an existing franchise (Kamen Rider), although it seems like it's going to be more standalone/won't require familiarity with Rider going in.

the (very) basic premise is that your player character has just taken over their late father's role as a secret agent, supporting the city's superheroes by running a secret base disguised as a cafe (plus you have a personal butler for some reason) (the reason is because it's amazing). you also have to help the heroes regain their lost memories, and it looks like it'll have a bit of a route/choice aspect there (not romance, just different endings to the character episodes depending on what you do). the details are kinda hard to tell at this point but the characters seem like a really fun bunch; there's definitely big "idiots with emotional problems" energy which I am extremely into.

all the official info is in Japanese only at the moment, but here's the website and the ride_kamens twitter! (though the twitter is sort of overtaken by posts about the AnimeJapan exhibit right now, whoops.) and I believe some people are already planning on doing translations for it too? lots to look forward to! :D

remember how in dao there were always like multiple flirty options u could just spring on ur love interest and it wasn't something that was brushed past it would stop a conversation dead in its tracks to have a cute secondary flirty offshoot with small variations dependent on the flirty option u initially chose with a unique course correction to get back on topic after...... yeah.

#sorry i'm about to be a hater #romance in datv is like. a vaguely flirty line met by an even vaguer response that has no impact on the conversation #in the beginning at least #only once your relationship is like 6 or 7 does it get a little more receptive #and the whole time it's like okay i completed a main quest. time to talk to the love interest. okay i did another main quest. time to talk #to the love interest. BC YOU CAN'T TALK TO THEM OUTSIDE OF DESIGNATED CUTSCENES. U CAN'T HAVE RANDOM CONVERSATIONS #A LA HAVE YOU EVER LICKED A LAMPPOST IN WINTER!!! THAT IS SO LAME!!!!!!!! Sometimes I try to write down thoughts about this campaign but I admittedly have not been paying enough attention to feel confident in my character analysis so I write an incoherent text post and then delete it because I don't know if I'm actually making the correct judgments.

#cr spoilers #in the tags #so i'm going to rant in here instead if you keep reading past this you can't get mad at me #anyway i want to talk about ashton #and how they would have been absolutely intolerable in c1 or c2 #where every character was invested in saving the world #for one reason or another #and c3 is just like #orym is the only one talking sense and everyone else is just like 'well maybe?'#but matt also said something about being ready for exandria to shift drastically based on their chocie #and if matt weren't ready for exandria to change ashton would be harder to watch than they are now #idk taliesin does quite often play around with hypocrisy with his characters so i'm not really surprised #by ashton claiming to stand up for the little person and then going and being willing to blow up their entire world #like they're not actually thinking about the 'little person'#they're thinking about themselves and that's really it #but yeah i do keep waiting for someone to say something that gives ashton that realization #that they can't use their trauma as an excuse to blow up everyone else's lives #idk i'm running out of steam #it's interesting to watch taliesin play around with this #but i've got to say that if they don't make a fucking choice about what they're actually going to do #idk i'm just ready for them ALL to stop waffling #okay now i'm done #i still have a lot of thoughts but i'd have to rewatch the whole campaign to feel confident in my talking points #and that's not going to happen lol

Considering the fact that I've spent day's worth of hours in this game and got my mystic to max, I think it's about time I drew her. She deserves a little reward after vibrating all those pesky foes into a puddle with her bell, after all.

Her name is Fae and like her pony namesake, she's a bit on the mellow side, but unlike her, she is much less shy and is almost a little motherly. More than happy to lend a paw to her fellow souls and keep them in tip top shape with her repertoire of spells and reagents, but won't shy away from a good fight, especially if it means she gets to study more monster bits and bobs after the fact.

With a head swimming with newfound curiosity for the world and a hunger for ancient knowledge, she looks up (both figuratively and literally) to Angela and is always ready to take notes at a moments notice with her trusty notepad.

how old do you think revali and mipha were in botw?

i keep seeing fans trying to find proof that they were teenagers and most of it is chocked up due to them being on the shorter side compared to older characters in their respective races, i mostly see it w/ revali and older rito tho coupled w/ the markings under his eyes, and idk it doesn't feel like they were that young to me, they're definitely not around the ages of urbosa and daruk but they don't feel like actual teens either? i got vibe that they both entered/were around their early 20's, or the zora equivalent to early 20's in mipha's case, and them not being similar height to older rito and zora doesn't really have to do w/ their ages (i say this as a 5'0 person in their 20's lol)

as for mipha, i do think in relative to hylian/human age that she seems more like she's in her 20s, perhaps early-mid 20s from the way she carries herself. but that can also be a result of the Eldest Daughter Curse which i am also a victim of so perhaps her disposition doesn't contribute to her possible age either.
