The contrast between Style and Kant's reactions to seeing the brothers again after a week...

We have Style, who looks ecstatic without any fear. He is actually leaping to the burger joint when he sees that Fadel is back. Kant told him to forget and get over Fadel but Style was never going to do that, let's be so real. He's well aware what Fadel is capable of, but it doesn't deter him. If anything, it makes Fadel all the more interesting and alluring. Style is way too attached at this point and if Fadel gets arrested, Style might just jump into the police car with him.

Kant looks both relieved that Bison hasn't been caught yet but also scared and guilty. It's getting harder and harder to lie and he's in deeper trouble the longer this goes on. He's going to crack

Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver #1 thoughts (w/ spoilers):

I loved Pietro's speech and mannerisms at the start! He's sarcastic as hell and it feels like a long time since I've seen that properly represented on page

The plot has definitely peaked my interest - I want to know what that note said and I want to know NOW

The argument between them both really aggravated me at first bcos of how quickly it escalated into Pietro shouting absolute nonsense but by the end of the comic I wasn't bothered too much bcos Wanda gave as good as she got and the whole purpose of the argument was to separate the twins for plot anyways so whatever ig

There's one thing Wanda says during this argument that really annoyed me which was 'when you goaded me into changing the world' - idk if this is bcos they were arguing or this is how the author genuinely thinks House of M played out but Pietro did not tell Wanda to alter reality for a laugh; he himself gained nothing from it other than *checks notes* being murdered by his own father

Speaking of - breaking news - a comic acknowledges that Pietro was murdered by his father Magneto during House of M which is like the only time I've ever seen it brought up

The Wizard is there? Bizzare but go off I guess. He's not the main villain I think, just working on their behalf?

I loved the scene of Pietro running and ranting to himself. I especially loved how he's angry about Wanda calling because he says she knows how a 2-minute phone call would feel to him. Again something I haven't seen for a while in comics featuring Pietro which is the mention of how he perceives time compared to everyone else

In general the main issue the twins have with each other was well demonstrated which is that Wanda wants independence and to be treated as an adult versus Pietro who has been told from a child he has to protect her which is a sentiment he carries even as an adult because he knows without her he would have no one (Wanda has always had other friends, other relationships but Pietro not so much)

A strong first issue and I can't wait for the next one. Wanda is clearly supposed to be the more main character of the two but I would say the twins are both represented equally - one is not shown as particularly worse than the one which is what can happen in a lot of comics featuring them

My favorite part about this episode was Tula's exhausted resignation about going to investigate the blue. She seemed so tired and scared and in that moment she was able to reach out and find she was loved and cared for and that the people she loved and tried to protect would protect and carry her in turn

To no one's surprise, I have exams for the next three weeks. The queue will continue to work (there is enough until June lol) and I might not be able to fill in the daily quota I was determined to write of at least a reply, but I also don't want to let the writing zone fade as I let happen in the past. Since there won't be always drafts to tackle, I'll be reblogging memes (maybe I'll put one per day in the queue as I have a great library of those in my archive blog) so I can write things no matter how short or long they come out!

I have an important presentation tomorrow and I realized there's a part of my project that doesn't work, I have another important deadline next wednesday, I haven't lifted weights in almost 10 days due to continuous overtime/lack of energy/other commitments and I have constant headaches/lack of energy and idk if that's related but i'm doing bad food-wise (struggling a lot with eating and textures and nausea and whatnot) and my sister is sick again (chronic illness) so my niece is worried/scared and ARGH I just want all of this to end please!!
