Mango and Diabetes: Impact of Mango Consumption for Diabetics
Introduction:
When it comes to managing diabetes, diet plays a crucial role. People with diabetes often wonder if they can enjoy their favorite fruits without compromising their blood sugar levels. One such fruit that raises questions is mango. In this article, we will explore the relationship between mango and diabetes, examining the nutritional profile, potential benefits, and considerations for diabetics.
The Nutritional Profile of Mango:
Mangoes are not only delicious but also rich in essential nutrients. A medium-sized mango (approximately 150 grams) contains about 60 calories and provides the following nutrients:
Carbohydrates: Mangoes are a significant source of carbohydrates, with around 15 grams per serving. However, they also offer dietary fiber, which helps slow down the absorption of sugars, minimizing the impact on blood sugar levels.
Fiber: Fiber plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. A medium-sized mango provides around 2-3 grams of dietary fiber, aiding in digestion and promoting satiety.
Vitamins and Minerals: Mangoes are abundant in vitamins A and C, both of which have antioxidant properties and contribute to overall health. They also contain potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure.
Benefits of Mango Consumption for Diabetics:
Despite its natural sugar content, mangoes can be included in a diabetic diet when consumed in moderation. Here are a few potential benefits of incorporating mangoes into a diabetes-friendly meal plan:
Nutrient Density: Mangoes are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, making them a nutritious choice for overall well-being. Incorporating them into a balanced diet can support the body's nutritional needs.
Antioxidants: The high vitamin C and vitamin A content in mangoes contribute to their antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help combat free radicals, reducing oxidative stress and promoting a healthy immune system.
Fiber-Rich Content: The fiber content in mangoes aids in digestion and slows down the release of glucose into the bloodstream. This can help prevent spikes in blood sugar levels after consuming mangoes.
Considerations for Diabetics:
While mangoes offer potential benefits, it's important for diabetics to consider a few factors when consuming them:
Portion Control: As with any fruit, moderation is key. Limit portion sizes to manage carbohydrate intake and prevent significant spikes in blood sugar levels. Consult with a registered dietitian or healthcare professional to determine the appropriate serving size for your individual needs.
Meal Planning: It's essential to incorporate mangoes into a well-balanced meal plan that considers overall carbohydrate intake. Adjusting other sources of carbohydrates, such as grains or starchy vegetables, can help accommodate the carbohydrates from mangoes.
Blood Sugar Monitoring: Regular blood sugar monitoring is crucial for individuals with diabetes. Keep track of your blood sugar levels before and after consuming mangoes to understand how they affect you personally.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, mangoes can be enjoyed by individuals with diabetes as part of a well-managed meal plan. The key lies in moderation, portion control, and considering the overall dietary context. Including mangoes can offer essential nutrients, antioxidants, and dietary fiber, contributing to a balanced diet. However, it's always recommended to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personalized advice based on your specific health needs and diabetes management goals.

You may notice I frequently comment on the assumptions people make about animal facilities based on their branding. Frequently, people assume accredited facilities are inherently better for animals than unaccredited facilities, or assume sanctuaries are inherently more moral / better at caring for their animals than zoos.
I want to show you an example of why I am always, always skeptical of these assumptions.
If you’re in the California area, you might have heard about Hank the Tank - who is actually a Henrietta, btw - the 500 pound nuisance bear from Lake Tahoe who broke into 21 homes in search of food. She was recently captured by wildlife officials and moved to a sanctuary in Colorado. The Wild Animal Sanctuary has three main facilities, two in Colorado and one in TX. To give you some context, it’s the biggest carnivore sanctuary in the country - they advertise somewhere between 300-500 animals, mostly large carnivores, between their properties. It’s where most of the Tiger King cats went. It’s PETA’s preferred placement for confiscated exotic animals. So, obviously, it’s got to be great, right? Except… take a look at what they posted about Henrietta’s arrival.
Here’s their post about Henrietta’s arrival at the Refuge, the large facility in Colorado that isn’t open to the public. Let’s take a closer look at that food trough…
What do we see here? An entire rotisserie chicken that is either blackened or highly seasoned, and a whole ham. Maybe a second chicken underneath the pile, I can’t quite tell. The sanctuary gets the majority of their bear food donated from groceries stores once it’s past the sell-by date, so we know those are older meats and they’re full of a ton of salt. Then, for fruit and veg, there’s a cantaloupe, mango, corn, avocado, grapes, and apples. Maybe a pepper or two, it’s hard to tell. That’s a lot of sugar and not a lot of fiber or roughage.
But… on top of it and to the right… are those Twizzlers?
Yes.
The sanctuary confirmed on Facebook that they fed this recently rescued obese bear what looks like almost an entire pack of Twizzlers.
I don’t know of any world in which it’s appropriate to feed candy to a bear. Maybe a piece or two as a really high value reinforcer for hard behaviors (that isn’t relevant here, it’s openly against this sanctuary’s ethos to do any husbandry or medical training). An entire pack of Twizzlers is just appalling. But it’s not uncommon for this facility! I have a book written about their operations and animal care (that I bought at their gift shop this spring) which openly discusses how the bears get fed bread, doughnuts, marshmallows, and all sorts of incredibly unhealthy food that comes in with the grocery donations.
But hey, this is apparently fine for the bears, according to the sanctuary’s founder. He was quoted in that same book as saying “Bears are the only animal I know of that can eat insane amounts of sugar and it never hurts them. It does not hurt their organs. They do not get clogged arteries. They do not have high blood pressure. In the wild they eat all these sweet berries in the fall, and they convert sugar to fat… so the more sugar they get the better… we would all love to have a system like that!”
Now while it’s true that bears have physiological adaptations that modulate their insulin production and sensitivity in ways that appear to prevent them from from developing diabetes, that does’t mean it’s healthy for them to regularly eat processed carbohydrates, sugar, and general junk food. And remember - Henrietta gained her fame because of how incredibly overweight she already is, and because she was seeking out human food, According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, a healthy weight for a normal adult black bear is between 100-300 pounds. So, obviously, the best thing to do is… continue to feed her candy.
Then, later on in the book, it details how they have to bribe a camel to sit tight for a regular medical examination (since they don’t train for medical behaviors) by letting him drink a can of Mountain Dew each time.
If a zoo was known publicly to be feeding their animals Mountain Dew or a couple Twizzlers - even just once, on a rare occasion - they’d be eviscerated in the media and by public opinion. But feeding out inappropriate junk food appears to be a pretty common practice at this place, and it just goes unscrutinized because everyone assumes sanctuaries are inherently better for animals.
So, long story short, never make assumptions about the quality of a facility based on it’s branding or accreditation. (TWAS is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries). If you have concerns about the ethics or practices of a facility, always try to put your preconceptions aside, go and see for yourself, and think critically about what you see and what you’re told.
#animal sanctuary#hank the tank#zoo industry politics#sanctuary politics#I have a lot of thoughts about this facility and some of the truly distressing things occurring there but am not yet ready to say much#suffice to say this is somewhere I would strongly discourage you from supporting

want to give your dogs a nice treat, but not sure whats healthy for them? heres a guide to fruits for dogs and what kind of ones are okay or should be avoided!
i love feeding my doggies off cuttings of my meals, especially the ends off fruits that i wont eat, but its good to know the effects of what you're putting in your dogs body. so heres some reaserch ive done, and the kinds of things i give my doggies.
as much as dogs technically dont have a need to eat fruit, they do have some good properties for doggie health. alot of dog food contains fruit because it gives alot of extra nutrients!
definitely NOT dogs safe :
- avacado causes vomiting and diarrhoea even in small amounts
- cherries can cause disruption to oxygen flow, even just a single fruit, and cause poisoning
- grapes or rasins are one of the worst things you can give a dog. they cause liver failure and poisoning so easily
- tomatoes are a risky game. the ripe red fruit is some what okay for dogs but its best to avoid them as a whole as they can be toxic. there are dog safe tomatoe treat alternative!
good in small amounts :
- bananas are full of vitamins, though high in sugar so good in small amounts
- cantaloupe is great for hydration, especially in the summer, though abit sugary
- cranberries are the same as cantaloupe, good hydration, abit sugary
- mangos are vitamin heavy though abit sugary for already chunky doggos. remember to remove the pit
- oranges are great, especially the peel of the fruit, though many dogs dont enjoy citrus at all and might be a little rough on the digestive system in large amounts
- peaches are high in vitamins and great in small chunks. too much can cause the same effects as cherries, so leave them as a nice little treat
- pears are super good. avoid tinned pears, only use the fresh fruit, and cut away the pit and seeds. but very good vitamins and potassium!
- pineapple helps break down proteins and is super good! avoid the skin, and similarly to pears, non fresh fruit pineapples are too high in sugar, its best to use it fresh!
- raspberries are an antitoxin that have anti-inflamitory properties! though in large amounts over about 8 ounces can be toxic.
- strawberries are great for helping whitening dogs teath and for overall oral health, though in moderation with how much sugar they have
the best ones :
- apples (removing the core and seeds) are high in vitamin A, C and fibre!
- blueberries are a huge antitoxin and promote cell reproduction even in large amounts!
- cucumbers are amazing treats, great amount of vitamins with little to no calories or fats. hugely recommended for chunkier dogs or diabetic pups that need a less sugary treat
- pumpkin in pure form is a great antitoxin that helps dogs with diarrhoea or upset stomachs! if you're getting canned pumpkin, make sure it has no added ingredients!
- watermelon, like cucumber, is great for hydration. remove the rine and seeds first, and you're good to go. lots of vitamins and potassium in a low calorie way!
low calories and sugar, specific for overweight doggos or diabetic pups :
- apples
- blueberries
- cucumber
- raspberries
- watermelon
good fruit for sick or old dogs that need some extra body help :
- apples (high in vitamins, low in calories)
- blueberries (antitoxin and cell regrowth)
- pineapple (helps digestion)
- pumpkin (antitoxin, helps cure stomach bugs, diarrhoea and constipation)
- raspberries (anti-inflammatory, helps with joints)
- strawberries (white teeth, oral health)
not every dog likes every fruit, its good to try it. if a fruit is high sugar, that doesnt mean its bad for you, bad in large amounts but a great treat that packs some good vitamins for your dogs!
i feed my dogs lots of fruits, as treats, as a nice summer cool down, to fix a stomach bug, or just because i have some left over!
fruit is great for your dogs, aslong as you know whats good and whats not, its always best to google the food before you give it to them. its safe to be mindful of what you put in your dogs body the same way we are mindful about what goes into ours!

Here’s my mom talking shit about me to my sister. I found after I went through her phone bc I accidentally saw a text message pop up and it was my sister talking shit too .There were 4 slices of peaches left and I didn’t even take the apple. I had just gotten off a 15 hour shift without eating and needed to take my diabetes medication which I can’t do on an empty stomach not only that but I asked if I could have the last 4 SLICES (about 1/3 of a peach if that) and she said yes. The mango was literally 2 weeks earlier and they are currently in the fridge rotten bc they went bad also. But don’t worry mom bc I will be skinny but you’ll always be a cunt. (It’s ironic that she’s bigger than I am too)
Also just letting ppl know that losing weight doesn’t always mean losing inches at first. I lost weight and built muscle which isn’t going to automatically slim me down. I normally have a protein shake I stretch through the day so I stay under 400 calories and to not get hungry but I had nothing but water that day . So close to moving out soon so I can ⭐️ve in piece and exercise more and not be talked down upon by my own mother. Motivation I guess. Can’t wait to prove both of them wrong.
No I didn’t lose a ton of weight but u can clearly see the difference.

hello hello! question for you: if you could only eat 5 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be 🩷 also, what's your go to coffee or tea order?
HIIII, this is such a good question but also im an indecisive mf so i might not choose only five sjfbdkabdnsjsdbsk
some of the foods here are colombian dishes and yall might not know them, so im gonna attach images about it
im gonna act like diabetes and my health in general are unaffected by the food i eat bc if not then my endocrinologist might haunt me at some point for this, but
1. bandeja paisa (colombian dish, it would absolutely NOT help me on my health whatsoever, but gosh its so fucking good)
2. ajiaco (colombian dish, see above for same disclaimer 💀)
3. popcorn (this is like my to go comfort food ao i wouldnt be able to leave it behind, even though i can hear somewhere at the back of my mind the voice of my endo going "why are you like this?")
4. pasta in whatever form and with most of its sidings (except anything with mushrooms, goodbye) (spinach is on thin ice idk) (HAVE YALL TRIED TUNA SOAGHETTI?? its not as fancy as it sounds but its the easiest thing to cook and im absolutely a fan) (re: the photo. if you ever put anything green on my salad besides, idk, pesto, i'll feel like you're offending me and my entire bloodline, and might end up crying or never talking to you again, but that is just a personal opinion)
5. idk how to explain that theres this typical lunch that my mom cooks gloriously and its rice, lentejas (idk how its called in english im sorry), slices of platano maduro (salad or an avocado are optional but not required),,,,,, and sometimes, when the stars align and some deity takes mercy upon myself, mango juice. idk how to explain yall that this is the most glorious lunch ever and i will literally go to your house and cook it for you if you ask me so bc everyone deserves to try it at least once in their life (the photo isnt how my mom prepares it but it was as close as i could find)
little tiny bonus bc i told yall i couldnt decide for shit: any kind of arepa, but either arepa de choclo or arepa boyacense???? i would sell my soul for those at any given chance
arepa de choclo:
arepa boyacense:
(no, they're not the same but both can be/are filled with cheese and its the best thing ever)
little tiny bonus dessert bc i couldnt help myself: theres a milhoja without sugar that an specific cafeteria in my city sells and i would commit crimes for, just to have it all my life, even though it is fucking expensive
fun fact: i just found out its also known in other parts of the world as "mille-feuille", "napoleon", "vanilla slice", and "custard slice" and it was originally from france sjsksjsksjsksjsksjsksjs
also also, about my to go order, it depends on the store, bc theres this kinda famous tea shop in my city and even though its incredibly expensive, i found a milk berry tea with the bubbles thingy that i love and im absolutely a fan. in my favorite cafeterias (im in colombia, so theres a lot) an iced coffee (like where they put the ice in the blender, and not coffee with ice) will always be my first choice, except if its like too early and im freezing, or in coffee vending machines, i will absolutely go for a cappuccino.
this went on for too long, but i have so many thoughts about food i could scream about it for ages, thank you so much for this lola ily 💕💕

TOP 10 BENEFITS OF FRUITS FOR OUR BODY
A healthy diet that includes fruits is essential if we want to live long lives free from sickness. They are packed with essential nutrients and minerals, which provide a host of health benefits.
Eating fruit can help with deficiencies and balance the body's physiological processes.
Read on to learn about the 10 advantages of eating fruits.
#1. Excellent supply of minerals, vitamins, and phytonutrients: They are a great source of important vitamins. Consuming a fruit salad comprising different fruits can significantly boost the body's vitality and health aspect.
#2. Rich in dietary fiber: Fruits' high dietary fiber content helps lower blood cholesterol and lower an individual's risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes. Fruits high in fiber, like strawberries, apples, bananas, and mangoes, also have anti-carcinogenic qualities.
#3. A great source of nourishment for pregnant mothers: fruits are high in folate, or folic acid, which aids in the production of red blood cells in the body. It is recommended that expectant mothers supplement their bodies with folic acid and eat fruits (grapefruit and oranges) in moderation. It aids in lowering the fetus's chance of mental and physical abnormalities.
#4. Controls blood pressure: Fruits high in potassium, such as avocado, bananas, and oranges, can assist you in keeping your blood pressure in check. They naturally prove to be healthier than any other food substitute because they are likewise low in fat and carbohydrates.
#5. Maintains healthy body weight: Vitamin C-rich fruits are helpful in maintaining healthy body weight. Furthermore, fruits don't contain any cholesterol or saturated fats that are bad for heart health.
#6. Digestion aid: Fruits high in fiber maintain their laxative qualities and facilitate the body's natural digestive process. Furthermore, kidney stone formation is avoided by doing this.
#7. Nurturing the skin and hair: They contain a lot of antioxidants, which support the skin's ability to keep its luster and brightness. Fruits that fight a variety of dermatological problems include papaya and coconut. Vitamin A-rich fruits give hair a glossy appearance.
#8. Hydrates the body: Fruits are a convenient and fast way to stay hydrated because most of them contain a high percentage of water. Intake in the summer and winter are equally significant.
#9. Boosts immunity: Fruits are a good source of calcium, magnesium, and even important vitamins like K and E. These can strengthen our defenses against infections and illnesses and treat a range of chronic illnesses.
#10. You can experience a wide variety of tastes and textures.
Plant-based foods allow you to be creative in the kitchen because of their diverse and intriguing tastes. You can experiment with more subdued flavors like maize and mushrooms or more robust ones like onions, peppers and olives. Fruits like pineapple, grapes, or plums are excellent for sweet flavors; lemons and grapefruits, on the other hand, are more acidic.

In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be challenging, especially with limited time to shop for fresh produce. With just a few clicks, you can have a variety of delicious, nutritious fruits delivered to your doorstep. Let’s explore the benefits of purchasing fresh fruit near me, tips for choosing the best fruit, and where to find high-quality options in Karachi.
Convenience: One of the main reasons people choose to buy fresh fruit online is the convenience factor. You can browse various options from the comfort of your home, add them to your cart, and have them delivered right to your door. This saves time, energy, and the hassle of physically going to a store, especially in a bustling city like Karachi.
Variety: Online fruit vendors offer a wide range of fruits, including local and exotic varieties. From juicy mangoes to crisp apples, you can find all types of fruits online, some of which may not even be available in your nearby stores.
Freshness and Quality: Reputable online fruit sellers ensure their produce is fresh and of the highest quality. Many vendors source their fruits directly from farms, reducing the time it takes for the fruit to reach you. This means that the fruits you receive are fresher and more flavorful than those found in a typical grocery store.
Flexible Delivery Options: Online fruit shops often provide flexible delivery options, allowing you to choose a delivery time that suits your schedule. Some even offer same-day or next-day delivery, ensuring that you receive your fresh produce as soon as possible.
Competitive Pricing and Discounts: Online platforms frequently offer discounts, special deals, and combo offers on various fruits. You can also compare prices from different sellers to find the best deals, helping you save money on your fruit purchases.
Benefits of Eating Fresh Fruit
Consuming fresh fruit daily provides numerous health benefits:
Rich in Nutrients: Fruits are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that boost your immune system, improve skin health, and support overall well-being.
Natural Sweetness: Fresh fruits are naturally sweet and contain natural sugars, which can satisfy your sweet tooth in a healthier way than processed sugary snacks.
Fiber Content: Many fruits are rich in dietary fiber, which aids digestion and promotes a healthy gut. Fiber also helps regulate blood sugar levels and can contribute to weight management.
Hydration: Fruits like watermelon, oranges, and strawberries have high water content, helping you stay hydrated, especially during Karachi's hot and humid summer months.
Disease Prevention: Regular consumption of fruits has been linked to a lower risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.
Fresh Fruits to Buy Online in Karachi
Here are some popular fruits that you can easily find online:
Mangoes: Known as the "king of fruits," mangoes are incredibly popular in Karachi. They are rich in vitamins A and C and have a delightful sweetness. Online fruit shops often offer a variety of mangoes, including Sindhri, Chaunsa, and Anwar Ratol.
Oranges: A great source of vitamin C, oranges are perfect for boosting immunity and keeping colds at bay. Online stores often have options for both local and imported varieties.
Bananas: Bananas are not only delicious but also provide a quick source of energy. They are packed with potassium and fiber, making them a great snack or breakfast option.
Apples: Apples are available year-round and are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins. Online vendors often stock a range of apple varieties, including Gala, Fuji, and Red Delicious.
Pomegranates: Pomegranates are loaded with antioxidants and have numerous health benefits. They can be enjoyed on their own or added to salads and desserts for a burst of flavor.
Watermelons: Watermelons are a summer favorite, with high water content that helps keep you hydrated. They are a perfect choice for Karachi’s hot climate and can be easily ordered online during the summer season.
Strawberries: Strawberries are not only delicious but also low in calories and high in vitamins. They are often available online during the winter months in Karachi.
Tips for Choosing Fresh Fruit Online
To ensure you receive the best quality fruit, keep these tips in mind:
Check Customer Reviews: Before purchasing from a specific online fruit vendor, read customer reviews and ratings. This can give you insight into the quality of the fruit and the reliability of the delivery service.
Look for Farm-Fresh Options: Many online stores highlight whether their fruits are sourced directly from farms. Farm-fresh produce is often fresher and tastier compared to supermarket offerings.
Examine Delivery Policies: Review the delivery policies, including the estimated delivery time, shipping charges, and return/exchange policies. Some vendors offer free delivery for orders above a certain amount, which can be a great way to save on shipping costs.

Making Healthy Ice Cream Rolls at Home
If you love ice cream but want to eat healthier, try making it yourself with an ice cream maker like Our Ice Cream Maker! It’s easy to use and will allow you to make healthy frozen treats in no time! Plus, when your friends and family see you creating your own ice cream rolls at home, they’ll be so impressed they won’t even realize they’re eating something low in calories and sugar! A great gift idea for any occasion
What is an Ice Cream Roll Maker?
An ice cream roll maker is a machine that produces fresh and fun ice cream rolls. Making these rolls isn’t difficult; it simply requires time and patience to make sure you’re doing it correctly. Also, if you want to make homemade frozen desserts like smoothies or milkshakes, you can buy an instant ice cream maker for your home.
Benefits of Using an Ice Cream Maker
With summer almost here, it’s time to take advantage of ice cream maker recipes! Did you know that using an ice cream maker is actually healthier than regular homemade ice cream? The following are some benefits of using an instant ice cream maker. Skip The Sugars: As mentioned above, one of the main reasons people opt for instant ice cream over regular homemade versions is because it skips or significantly reduces added sugars. This allows individuals with diabetes to enjoy a sweet treat in moderation without having to worry about carbs and sugar intake. Fresh Ingredients: Another great reason why many people prefer instant ice cream makers is because they get all their ingredients right from home instead of picking up something pre-made on-the-go.
How to Use an Ice Cream Roller
Making your own ice cream rolls is a fun way to create healthier versions of your favorite desserts. The process itself isn’t complicated, but you can roll out homemade ice cream in any flavor you want—and it only takes 10 minutes. If you have an instant ice cream maker, here’s how to use it: First, freeze a non-stick surface for about 4 hours before making your batch of frozen treats. Then add two scoops of vanilla or fruit-flavored ice cream and spread evenly on a surface coated with a layer of butter or cooking spray. To make sure everything sticks together when you try to slice them later on, leave enough space between each scoop so that they don’t merge into one solid block.
What Ingredients do I Need?
At first glance, you may think making ice cream rolls requires an impossible number of ingredients; however, that’s not true. You can easily make your own healthy ice cream using only 3 ingredients. Here are 3-ingredient recipes for banana ice cream, pineapple sorbet and mango sorbet. These fruity treats are simple to make and use only three ingredients. Once you have these tasty frozen desserts in hand, roll them up with a layer of chocolate sauce and a sprinkling of crushed nuts on top. After a few hours in the freezer, you’ll have made yourself tasty ice cream rolls!
How Many Ingredients Can I Use?
An ice cream maker allows you to make frozen desserts with only a few, simple ingredients. If you’re not used to making your own ice cream, however, it can be hard to know how many different flavors and ingredients you can mix together in an instant ice cream maker. In general, all you need is some flavor-infused water (fruit juice or whatever else sounds good), a little sweetener (brown sugar or whatever else sounds good) and egg yolks if you want creamy texture. The overall ratio should be about 1 cup of liquid per 2 cups of sugar—so feel free to experiment until you get a recipe that tastes great!
Tips and Tricks for Perfect Frozen Treats
Get ready to knock your sweet tooth out of commission with these tips and tricks for homemade frozen treats. You don’t have to give up your favorite ice cream rolls just because you’re trying to stay healthy—but you will need a few extra tools, like an ice cream maker that cranks out more than just one flavor. 5-Minute Frozen Treat: Try making some fruit popsicles! They’re perfect for those hot summer days when it seems too hot to eat anything but icy-cold comfort food. Just roll or chop your favorite fresh fruit into bite-sized pieces, then mix them together in a blender until they are smooth enough to pour into popsicle molds. The result is pure summertime fun. If you really want something decadent, consider adding chocolate syrup or whipped cream on top!

Diabetes-Friendly Fruits: A Guide for the Indian Population
Diabetes is a common health concern that affects millions of individuals globally, including a significant number in India. Managing diabetes effectively requires maintaining balanced blood sugar levels; diet plays a critical role in this process. Fruits, despite containing natural sugars, can be a healthy part of a diabetic diet when chosen wisely.
Understanding Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load
When selecting fruits, it's important to consider the Glycemic Index (GI) and Glycemic Load (GL). Together, these metrics can help guide better dietary choices for people with diabetes.
Here is a list of fruits that are beneficial for people with diabetes, along with their Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load:
