Until someone from the staff says otherwise, I will stake actual, genuine money that this was an exchange from the writer's room that made it into the show.

Okay, so, who do I have to commission to make a “Yaz dies from the Mosasaurus” fic?
NOBODY GIVE ME WEIRD LOOKS BECAUSE YOU GUYS LOVE MAKING BEN ACTUALLY DIE TO THE PTERANODONS !!! I’ve seen the fics ,,
The scenes happen back to back too, so it’s like — almost equal amounts of angst !! Because when Yaz breaks her ankle and Sammy runs over to her, she’s still pissed at Sammy, so imagine the guilt Sammy must feel if she watches Yaz die in front of her without ever making things right ??? Not to mention Ben’s guilt of feeling like he caused her death bc he was slowing them down with Bumpy. Maybe even Kenji too for not pulling her to safety fast enough with the feeding hook !!
Which is an ironic name..
I’d write it myself if I had the motivation to finish things ..

Note
Dave gives off sexist vibes in first half of season 1.
He repeatedly undermined and downplayed Roxie’s authority and focused almost entirely on the boys, barely interacting with Sammy, Brooklyn, and Yaz,
I always interpreted his interactions with Roxie like a general insecurity and figured he'd act like that with any other camp counsellor.
But that's kinda true he doesn't interact with the girl campers nearly enough.
Thoughts?

I imagine it would have felt like a jinx otherwise.
They were all on a train one time, talking about what they would do when they got home, and fifteen minutes later, Ben was dead. A few hours after that, and they were stranded on the island.
They were NOT taking chances until they were far away from that island.
I love how it took the campers 4 whole seasons to think about writing everyone's contact information on a piece of paper

Camp Cretaceous reaffirming my belief that Bryce Dallas Howard’s character in Jurassic World should have gone to JAIL these kids were already stumbling into dinosaur paddocks before the Indominus even escaped!! Why does the river ride have an alternate tunnel leading directly into the Mosasaurus exhibit lmao?!

Jurassic World Rebirth Leak Discussion
It's from a random reddit user and completely unsubstantiated, but it's interesting enough for me to want to talk about it. Read at your own discretion.
Tumblr media
Given that this is meant to be a completely new chapter, it makes sense to update some old designs, especially since de-extinction has supposedly gone public so there'd be all sorts of companies creating new variations and species.
I'm excited for the new Triceratops, I hope the redesign means it gets some love beyond being relegated to background herd filler.
It's also nice to get a new T. rex and Velociraptor pack instead of shoehorning in Rexy and Blue again.
Tumblr media
Now this is really fun news to me, Spinosaurus being the main focus of the movie is pretty much confirmed thanks to the Mattel toy listings, but if it is getting a new design based on our modern understanding, then I can't be happier. Set photos suggest it'll take part in an action scene around some Aztec ruins, which sounds like a fantastic set piece.
I am a little torn on the Mosasaurus, on one hand I'm happier that we're getting a more accurate design but on the other hand, the JW design has really grown on me and I always felt like she deserved to do more in the franchise.
Tumblr media
Quetzalcoatlus getting a redesign is actually bad news for me, the Dominion look is probably the most beautiful animal in the whole franchise. I hope it's not too different, "hornbill beak" isn't very reassuring.
Titanosaurus is such an odd choice, why not just use the Dreadnoughtus that you already have? Especially since Titanosaurus is a dubious and not all that large sauropod. I have a feeling it'll actually be something like Patagotitan or Argentinosaurus and they'll just refer to it as "Titanosaur" for marketing reasons. As for the actual design... What? A shiny dome on its head and sails on its neck and tail? I really hope this is just a bad description on the leaker's part.
Aquilops is there, I feel like it'll serve a similar purpose as Bumpy did in the first season of Camp Cretaceous, something cute for the characters to get attached to and the audience to buy toys of.
Looks like Maiasaura is about to join the ranks of Corythosaurus and Iguanodon as the third background ornithiscian with nothing to do.
Tumblr media
This is already known based on the official synopsis and set photos, the thing that kicks the plot off is a pandemic that only the DNA of giant creatures can cure for some reason. I think it's a good framework and gives us a good enough excuse for action scenes.
Tumblr media
Some character and plot details, admittedly this doesn't matter as much to me because it's impossible to tell whether it'll be good or not until I actually see it.
Tumblr media
The official synopsis mentions a "secret" that everyone is suspecting is a mutated dinosaur of some kind, I'm just whatever on it. That and the fact it ends in a fight scene just tells me that despite being advertised as a whole new chapter, the franchise is still repeating the same tropes as always.
Overall, nothing here that's really turning me off to the movie, mainly just a lot of little small grievances with some exciting news to balance it out. I'm still excited but cautious, we'll see how it turns out this summer.

Did anyone else not trust tiff and Mitch the minute they came on screen?
Because I didn’t. And the overuse of the word ‘babe’ rubs me the wrong way.
Also, why couldn’t they just have- dumped the guns into the mosasaurus’ pen? That way the couple wouldn’t have been able to get them without being eaten alive.
dm me privately to do a camp Cretaceous rp.

If you could make a fix it fic, which fandom would you do it? For me, it would be Jurassic, because... there's a lot of "what an idiot" moments on the franchise, same with Star Wars.
Oh gosh, I have a growing list. I can't just stick to one! There's so many I have to ask the writer(s) what are you even doing?
Since you mentioned Jurassic in the ask, I'll keep the focus there, cause I do have issues with the franchise and there are some ideas I could think of to change up the series. Though it would be more directed towards the World films. JP1 and JP2 I can't think of anything I really need to fix, and JP3 only thing I'd have changed is the removal of the dumb dream. That was silly. But the rest of the film I was good with.
Now JW1, which was the best of the World films, at most I'd do minor tweaks. Make the older brother less creepy and stop staring at girls. Remove the mention that the brothers parents are getting a divorce, we don't need that. It's just pointless exposition. I'd also either overhaul Owen's character or replace him. Like, removing the actor from him and viewing him as a character, he's unlikable and just doesn't click with the other lead Claire, cause they're both stiff in different ways, she's controlling and orderly while he's gruff and hostile and it just wasn't pleasant seeing them work off each other. Maybe... given that raptors are social animals, the trainer should be sociable and a little playful, but gets serious as required.
JW2 I'd just overhaul all together, work off the trailers more. Like, at most, I'll give the film that the Indoraptor was hilarious cause that thing thought he was in his own horror film, but for a film that was built up on dinosaurs getting loose, and our era is about to be a "fallen kingdom" and we're truly about to enter Jurassic World; well the movie should've been more about that. And given the opening, maybe it should've been that the Mosasaurus should've been the focal big antagonist of the film. Have Claire spending her life focusing on the dinosaurs and handling the mess of the fallen theme park, being in charge of handling the dinosaurs and overseeing the island. And it's discovered the Mosasaur got out and Claire is to assist in the termination as it's doing a lot of damage in the ocean, and while this sea horror film is going on with the Mosasaur, in the B plot, Biosyn is coming to the island to gather up the dinosaurs, with Dodgson leading the way. Idk how, but the two plots will come together, and because Biosyn is over ambitious, dinosaurs break free are now loose in the United States and is set to some how spread to other parts of the world. And that would be Dominion, full blown dinosaur apocalypse with people trying to survive, and adapt to dinosaurs now being a part of life and can come and go wherever they please, and seeing what changes have to be made and just embrace the horror of this setting. I'd also like the Camp Cretaceous kids make cameos.
Speaking of which, I'd overhaul s4 of Camp Cretaceous too. I'd go that the Mosasaur pushes the campers onto Site B and they got to survive on the new island, and it keeps dinosaurs as the focal threat with our old buddy Spino, we see the rex from JP2 grown up, and of course the raptors. This will also be the season for Sammy to shine a little as Mantah Corp is here to do illegal experimentation, which maybe here is where you get to see the Indoraptor as I cut that out in my idea of JW2. And the guy that blackmailed Sammy's family is here, and she and him are going to have an actual confrontation for what he did to her and her family. I'd also reveal that Mantah Corp picked up on the SOS signal and purposely ignored it. And it could be set up that s4 they were able to get a hold of Mantah Corp's tech and get a message out that Dave and Roxie and Darius' older brother picks up and keep in them coming in to help in s5. Also the scientist they come across in s4, I'd either cut her out entirely as she was kinda pointless, or make her another Mantah Corp operative, not kept in the dark about what they're doing, but she also wasn't here for child murdering, so she helps the kids however she can.
I'd keep in Kenji and Darius making up, but change up the reasoning, instead of Kenji's mad at Darius for endangering his (apparent) crush Brooklyn, he's mad because all the campers are his first time friends, he had lost Ben, he nearly lost Sammy, and so soon Brooklyn is in danger right now and Darius left her in that danger (though she did tell him to leave her). And he was mad at Darius for taking that risk for their friend cause between Sammy and Ben, it really clicked for him how terrifying it is knowing that another is in danger. And I would clarify that Kenji isn't wrong in his feelings, but it is something he needs to get past cause now isn't the time for there to be tension in the group.
Also, if any couple is going to be made official in s4, it's going to be Yaz and Sammy.
As for the matter of PTSD, I'm going to clarify that all the kids have PTSD. I am baffled that s4 claimed that Darius, the 12 yo who had to step up as the leader of these kids, struggling to survive, running from dinosaurs that wanted to kill him, had to deal with bounty hunters that wanted to kill them, and the horror that was the Scorpius Rex; apparently doesn't have PTSD, that he's good. Yeah that can go. That felt like some cheap means to try and separate Darius from the group and help establish Kenji as the new leader; yeah that go out the window. That was irritating.
As for Kenji's dad being in charge of Mantah Corp... I actually still need to watch s5, but I'd lean that he isn't. Like, the man is a VIP at the park, he has his own spot on the park that's isolated and exclusive to him, he has access to hidden routes under the island that can go into any of the exhibits. Why does his company need to hire a teenager to be a spy and gather dna and intel for him???
And for sure, I'd have CC officially end around the time that FK ends, and when Darius sees a dinosaur in his neighborhood, there is horror and dread in his face cause that's not supposed to be here, and that ends with your build up for Dominion, and setting the tone of what's to come.
And so concludes Punchie's ranty rewrite of the Jurassic franchise. I hope you guys like it better than what we got.

Anonymous sent: 🔥 + Jurassic Park series
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
Tumblr media
I'm personally sick of the argument of "the dinosaurs aren't scary anymore" in the Jurassic World movies. For one thing, they can still be scary. Not even taking the hybrids into account, they still can pose a threat like the raptors, the Carnotaurus, T-Rex, Mosasaurus. Hell, even herbivores like Oranosaurus can be threatening. Thing is that it's not just the movies where the dinosaurs are threatening. Battle at Big Rock had the Allosaurus, Camp Cretaceous had the Oranosaurs, Nothosaurus, the Mosasaurus, even the Spinosaurus as well. And I don't even need to see Chaos Theory to know there are quite a few threatening dinos there as well.
And even then, let's not forget that these movies are treating the dinosaurs as what they were in the first place; animals, not monsters. Animals only attack when threatened or hungry or just possibly agitated.
And people like to bring up that it "makes Ian Malcolm wrong". No it doesn't. It's not just all about whether chaos and mayhem happens with these dinosaurs roaming around. It's also a case of we made our bed, so we sleep in it. We grow, learn, adapt, and survive in a world with dinosaurs in the same period as us.
Also if anyone doesn't think the scene in Fallen Kingdom with the Brachiosaurus on the docks was sad as fuck, then we can't be friends. That scene had me tear up in the theaters.

Setting Sail Into Dangerous Waters with Camp Cretaceous Season Four | Where Will They Go?
At the end of Season Three of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, the camp fam set sail into the vast unknown in search of rescue from Isla Nublar and the fallen Jurassic World theme park. With only a compass to lead the way and Kenji at the helm, the six kids set out to rescue themselves with a ship left behind by Season Two's villains, Mitch and Tiff. Nothing yet has been revealed about where these kids will call their next port, but I'm sure they are intent on making it to mainland Costa Rica... but will they actually make it there? There are a lot of variables in the mix, so let's take a look at some of the routes our camp fam may take on the way home.
Costa Rica
Isla Nublar lies 120 miles West of the mainland, so with enough luck and fuel, the kids of Camp Cretaceous certainly hope to make it to Costa Rica. It's their salvation. In the canonical timeline of Jurassic World, the campers set off of Nublar about six months after the events of Jurassic World, which means the hangar at the end of the 2015 film would no longer be ground zero for rescue operations. After six months of no rescue, it seems as though no one is looking for the lost children anymore. Hopefully they can find safety with the authorities or someone that may have heard about the missing kids from the Jurassic World incident. This outcome is their safest sanctuary. It's the ultimate goal.
There is one issue with this goal - what is on the boat? We certainly heard what seems to be a dinosaur within the locked cabin, so our campers could be responsible for a dinosaur loose in Costa Rica. It could make for an interesting tie to the original Jurassic Park novel with loads of reports of small lizards harming people around the coast. Ultimately, would one dino lost on the coast of Costa Rica be all that interesting? Depending on what the dino is, it could be interesting... but I think there are better alternatives.
Back to Nublar
This option is certainly the least interesting of the bunch. With the kids setting out for a hopeful future, having them backtrack to Isla Nublar would be a huge step backwards for the show. We've already spent three seasons trying to escape the island, so setting course for somewhere new is the best option. Of course there are still plenty of unexplored sections of the island, but it feels like it's time for a change of scenery.
The Mosasaurus
At this point in the franchise timeline, the events at the beginning of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom have occurred, which means that the Mosasaurus has escaped into open water. Our camp fam set out on the open seas, hoping to head to safety, but what if something got in their way? It's highly possibly that along their trip towards the mainland, they encounter the Mosasaurus. This outcome could be utterly dire for our campers, as the Mosasaurus outsizes their yacht and could capsize them in an instant. While nothing too drastic will happen to our core group, I wonder if this encounter sets them off-course... potentially to another island.
Isla Sorna
The campers set sail with hopes of floating eastward towards mainland Costa Rica... but what if they went the wrong way? The Mosasaurus could be the perfect catalyst for them chartering the wrong course, but it's already been hinted at that they could easily lose their way. During Season Three, Kenji couldn’t figure out how to use the compass that they picked up from his dad's penthouse, so who's to say he won't get turned around again. Isla Sorna is one island in the Five Deaths island chain, 87 miles West of Isla Nublar - 207 Miles West of Costa Rica. If they hit Sorna, they are heading in the wrong direction. The wrong direction for the kids, could be the correct direction for the show. Let's consider all Isla Sorna has to offer.
The island originally seen in The Lost World: Jurassic Park and further in Jurassic Park III could be the answer many secrets this franchise holds. It's an island shrouded in mystery and potentially even lies. As we've been told, Isla Sorna is supposedly vacant. The DPG website repeatedly mentions the animals being shipped from Sorna to Nublar to populate Jurassic World as the park was building up operations, but also for the well-being of the creatures on an ever growing mysterious island. Did they move all the animals? That's to be foreseen, but at this point it seems unlikely.
One animal that could still be roaming Isla Sorna is the formidable Spinosaurus. The Spinosaurus could hold the key to the origin of hybrid dinosaur testing, giving the kids something to solve. The Spino's story was unresolved in Jurassic Park III, so it would be welcoming to see what happened after Paul Kirby sent a flare hurdling towards the vicious creature, setting the lagoon ablaze. According to the DPG, the dinosaur could be the reason for decreasing population and well being of other species throughout the island, so is it alone or does it have any island-mates?
There's also the possibility of animals lurking around old research facilities or creating nests near the coast lines - the Velociraptors of Isla Sorna. We have seen three variations of Velociraptor on the island - the male Tiger raptors of The Lost World and the white females and quilled males of Jurassic Park III. It seems doubtful that these variants would have been killed off by the Spinosaurus or shipped to Isla Nublar for the park opening, so the opportunity still exists for the raptors to be alive on the island. It would be wonderful if the campers stumbled upon the answers regarding why there are so many variants of raptor.
One problem with heading to Isla Sorna is how similar it looks to Isla Nublar now. The campers lived for months at their fallen Camp Cretaceous tree house, which was set among Redwood style trees, a look synonymous with Isla Sorna. At this point, how would Dreamworks Animation distinguish these two islands, as to make it seem like they are not just back on Nublar?
Shipmates
Let's further consider the Camp Cretaceous crew's current situation with a stowaway on board. It sounds like a dinosaur locked in the onboard cabin and I've heard speculation on everything from a young Scorpios, to a Troodon, a Baryonyx and Hap, the mercenary from Season two. I do like to consider the dino on board to be a baby Velociraptor bred directly from Velociraptor Blue due to parthenogenesis. It's been alluded to in the Jurassic World Aftermath VR game that Blue may have been able to reproduce asexually, so this could be a fun way to further that concept see in Jurassic Park and in Season Three of Camp Cretaceous with the second Scorpios Rex. Anyway, that's all besides the point, because a dinosaur is on this boat and it will have consequences.
Does the dinosaur on board force them to turn back to Nublar? Will it sidetrack them to a different island? Does it somehow signal the Mosasaurus toward their yacht? Will this dino cause mischief on the mainland? Pretty much all options are on the table when you have a dinosaur on board, but ultimately I hope it becomes the next Bumpy. Season three seemingly gave us a send-off for our favorite young Ankylosaurus (until the future, we hope), so we could use another fun dino side-kick. If it's a sweet young dinosaur, then maybe our camper friends won't get too sidetracked, but will still need to deal with the consequences once their arrive at their final destination.
Mantah Corp
Our final option sends the campers directly into the hands of the enemy. Mantah Corp have been on the peripherals of the Camp Cretaceous story from the beginning. We've seen their drone pop up in season one and in season three, plus we've heard their stories and connections. So when do we actually see Mantah Corp play a larger role? From what has been relayed within the series, it sounds like Mantah Corp has been in the shadows from the very beginning - even before Jurassic Park. Mantah Corp has wanted dinosaurs since before Wu made the first cloned creature, so we know they are dead-set on getting the DNA or better yet, some dinosaurs themselves.
From the previously outlined concepts, there could be a few results here for Mantah Corp. If our camp fam does encounter a Mosasaurus in the ocean and needs rescue, who better than Mantah Corp? There's also the chance of Mantah Corp setting up shop at a nearby island - Isla Sorna anyone? The team from Mantah Corp has to be close to Nublar, as they sent drones on recon missions to grab data and spy on the dinosaur activity. Sorna would give them a great base of operations. Let's say that Mantah Corp doesn't have the means currently to transport big dinosaurs off the islands, but they could have the capability of smuggling something small, a baby perhaps? I think Mantah Corp has to play a big role in Season four and I'd love to see it all play out on Isla Sorna.
What do you think? Are there any other alternatives that interest you? The kids from Camp Cretaceous certainly will have an adventure ahead of them in Season Four and I can't wait to see how it all plays out. I'd love to hear from you in the comments below.
