The party Im in is so dead and now I’m writing my OCs lore in a strangers house living room, with a beer, camote 🍠 chips (i have no idea how to say camote in english, also I’m - little drunk) and I pick the music, everybody is wasted or dead I guess, this is actually pretty nice, I would do this again sometime

We are Not the Same
People on this web site saying they're freaks because they like feet or frotting or whatever fetish that thousands of people actually have and meanwhile I'm probably one of five people in North America making fucking. Dulce de calabaza today. Don't ever learn to candy anything. You will never be able to stop. Aroace people actually CAN be into BDSM, I'm not trying to claim otherwise, but this has to be the food equivalent of BDSM. It takes a ton of time and equipment and you have to wear protective garments (in this case because you're going to be working with calcium hydroxide, which is mildly corrosive if you get it on your skin). And I'm not even doing it the "real" way (no soy mexicana solamente me gustan todas las dulces de todas las naciones), I'm doing it with an oven so the last step doesn't take 12 hours like last time. It's basically mummification using sugar instead of natron, is what I'm saying.
So anyway this is really just an excuse to make you look at my pictures of the pumpkin WIP while the pumpkin and sweet potato and yam candy is in the oven for 3 hours (did I say we're also doing sweet potato and yam?).

I was very excited to try sweet potatoes because I thought it was one of those produce we didn't have here since I'd never heard of "papas dulces" but potatoes are great so surely that must be good. Until I finally had them on a trip and was like ".......this is just camote"

12 and 18 for the end of the year ask 🌺
Hi Fufi!!! 😊 thanks for the ask! 🫂💖
12) Talk about a new friend you made this year
Thankfully, this year did bring me some new friends ☺️ (for the love of god i was so lonely, being new in town and all 😭)
Well, the one I chill with the most is named Beyza! She's from Turkey :3 and shares food with me. Even if I insist I had breakfast, she'll make me eat 😭. But that's OK her food is really good.
If we're talking about online friends, well, I also got some new pals 🫂 shout-out to Gianna 😊👍🏻
18) A memorable meal this year?
Hmm... well, I tried sweet potato tacos one day, and they were soooooo gooooood 🤤🤤. It's the first thing that came to mind, so probably that! 🍠

For real though... learning some Tico/Tiquismos stuff while writing this thing has been a delight and a fun challenge, you know?
All because I chose the Spanish surname "Espinoza" (because the Begotten!Twins are thorny as hell, and it suits them) and looking up where that name was very common. Honed in on Costa Rica for the twins' dad.
I'm glad I'm at least aware of dialects being a thing.
(And none of the racist, imperialist, classist BS from my grandpa thinking there's such a thing as academic/perfect Spanish. That anything outside of that arbitrary, practically non-existent dialect, is just fucking slang/wrong.)
